It’s no use, now, trying to fight it. He’s tangled himself in the net, getting himself more tied up with each attempt of getting out. At least the irony isn’t lost on him. He’s very aware of his tendency to get himself in over his head, thank you very much, Mozz.
Either someone will get him out before it’s too late, or no one will. It’s probably smart of them not to jump in after him. To wait for someone who has experience with this, who knows how to rescue people from this kind of thing.or; Neal goes for a swim. Jones has to pull him out.

Neal pulls himself together.
One last time.
His voice is barely above a whisper, and still, he can feel it reverberate in his bones.
“You're fine. Act normal. Don't go to sleep. Peter can’t know.”
He retreats into himself. Lets the Command take over, even though he knows he’ll have to check back in eventually, or Peter will notice. But, for now, he lets the Words carry him into his apartment, awaiting judgement.
At least the disconnect between his mind and body should make him feather-light enough to pass the weighing of his heart.or; Neal goes out for a run, and gets himself into quuite the predicament

Summary
Bobby dies. Or he doesn't. Either way, Buck has a hard time dealing with it.
Three standalone stories that are only connected through the fact that something happens to Bobby, and Buck tries to cope (and fumbles it so badly). And the fact that they belong together in my head.
1. "the opposite of being 'haunted by' seems awfully lonely":
Buck ignores four stages of grief and tries to jump right into acceptance. Too bad the thing he's accepting hasn't actually happened. Too bad he trips and lands ass first in denial about that part.
2. "when i die it'll be the smoke":
Buck ignores an important phonecall, spends time in El Paso, gets in a car crash, starts healing, and has a different part of his family come back to him.
3. "and i've tried having faith (but i'll rot like a dog)":
Buck scratches an itch. Eddie finds out. It doesn't go the way you would think. At least until he gets some new information from a friend.- Words:

Summary
Buck holds out his hands, and Tommy passes Persimmons over.
Instantly, Buck can feel her purring, and the minute she settles into his hands, she starts to knead, her tiny, little claws prickling his skin.
He melts, cooing and placing a gentle kiss on the top of her head. She's so small. No matter how many kittens and puppies he sees at work, it never gets old.
“Yeah, pets really are the best.” Buck replies, but he can't help but think about how that's how he feels about Tommy.
or, Buck is a vet tech and he meets Tommy when Tommy finds a tiny black kitten in the hood of his truck. He quickly falls in love with the kitten (and maybe the man himself).

“Athena?” is all Eddie can say. But they don’t need a lot of words. They know each other well enough to navigate the conversation regardless.
“She was with him. She’s with the kids.”
“And you?”
“Me?”
“Who’s with you?”
And that’s when it hit Buck. Everyone had someone. Hen had Karen and Denny. Athena had May and Harry. Chim had Jee and Maddie. It was moments like this when Buck would have had Eddie. But maybe Eddie was never his to have in the first place.
They’re gonna need you. It was a lie. They wouldn’t need him. He needed them. But the dark side of his mind wondered if he needed Bobby more.

Bobby's always admired the bright optimism the kid holds onto. It's rare to see it waver and Bobby doesn't want to ever be the cause of its diminishment.
However—
"I fucked up," his voice comes out more broken than he wanted and his eyes fall shut again as he grips the edge of the kitchen sink.

no but honestly thank you for introducing me to this it was an absolute delight to read it and laugh hysterically at buck's misery
