If that means joining up with rich dudes playing dress up, pasty nerds with hacking and photography habits, and throwing on a costume herself, then that’s just what she’ll have to do. Even if Batman works alone. She’s convincing.
In which Stephanie Brown rocks the radical nineties and becomes the first Robin, ruining Batman’s life and giving Tim Drake a hobby.

“Then what is it about?” Steph found herself asking, and she blamed the smoke for how hoarse her voice was. “Why are you doing it?”
Weirdly enough, he answered her immediately. As if he asked himself the same question every day, and had the same answer each time. “Justice. Vengeance. Striking back against the corruption that plagues this city.”
It was a cool thing to say. It was the kind of thing that Uncle Daryl said when he talked about how the mob protected their block from the goon coppers. It sounded like what Marco’s cousin said when he took three of his brothers and gave the guy who hassled their sister a mega-beatdown. It was the kind of thing that Rudy would say, because Rudy was a very good person who loved kids like her and Angelica and Marco very much.
It was something that Steph just was so sick of.
“Where in that is helping people?” Steph asked.

Summary
They find Jason's trackers on the rooftop of the apartment building - every single one, carefully and efficiently cut from his clothes, except for the ones in his shoes.
Those garments have been abandoned wholesale.
Analysis of these trackers back at the cave will later reveal them to have been fried by an electric current - a direct hit, not merely an EMP, from which their trackers are largely shielded.
They find, too, Jason’s personal taser, the little red one that Bruce had gifted to him to carry at all times in his civilian identity.
The tracker contained in the device is the only surviving one, the one that brought them to this rooftop.
It had last moved a mere seven minutes before Damian had arrived on the scene. An entire seven minutes before Damian had arrived.
They do not find Jason.
They don’t find any evidence of where or how he was taken, no trails they can follow.
It’s like he was simply cut out of their universe, nothing but his shoes and his weapon left behind.
And Damian is horribly, terribly aware that the last time a boy vanished like this, he never came home again.

secretcinnamon rolls.Roughly 95% Batfam nonsense, identity porn, borderline crack, and domestic fluff; 5% plot.
Fics are rearranged into in-verse chronological order with every new fic. As of 4/26/24, 1-6 are in chronological order and tell a cohesive better-if-read-in-order story, while 7-10 are set in a not-so-distant future where secret identities are known.
