Din should have bought Grogu warm clothes earlier, but he had never gotten around to mustering up the courage. Investing in clothes meant investing in a future, and up until recently, he hadn’t even entertained the hope that there could be a future together for them.
If only his Tribe could be a part of that future.
But no, he had broken the Creed. In their eyes, he was a Mandalorian no more.
There was nothing he could do about his abandonment except move on—just like before.

Nothing big ever happened, not in the Jundland Wastes, but just as winds eventually carved caves into the rock formation that Obi-Wan now called home, little things here and there had carved away at his resolve, weakening him, reminding him of all that he lost and all that he wanted back.
Anakin Skywalker is alive, the Inquisitor had claimed.
He was slipping. It wouldn’t do to think of these things and make it harder for himself again—harder to keep himself closed off and protected.
He didn’t want to get hurt again.

Of course the ship's alluvial damper had started malfunctioning just then.
Of course the planet they had stopped on was frozen and they weren't equipped to deal with the cold.
Of course there wasn't even a kriffing thermoregulator in their lodging.But Grogu was there with Din, so of course, that made everything a little bit brighter.
