Summary
Vampires are a category of Fae creature which are Unseelie and thus are bound by specific and strange rules, but to differing extents. Turned Vampires - Vampires who were once fully human - are not true Fae. Dhampirs and Upyirs, however, are both true Fae and are thus bound by all laws of the Faerie. Upon their true deaths they will not leave behind bodies, instead turning to ash and smoke.
Or: The one in which Scott Goldsmith is a Dhampir - half-human, half-Vampire, and all ancient evil Fae. This suits him quite well - it's been over a thousand years since he's remembered what mortality was like. And then he awakens to a world changed and fledglings that call him friend. And just maybe he can admit that it's nice to feel loved, instead of feared.
But once Unseelie, always Unseelie...right?

Summary
Episode 7 fallout, (SPOILERS) diverges from Scott making Avid a grave.
“Scott. Please? What’s going on? I’m so scared.”
Scott was silent for a moment longer and his hand reached into his cloak to clutch onto Avid’s blood red cloak. He made a plea to the open air, voice barely more than a whisper, but he made it nevertheless. What else could he do? Even if hope was such a useless feeling.
“Avid… Is that you?”
OR: for an inexplicable reason, Avid becomes a ghost after his death, meanwhile Scott deals with realising that he is able to grieve, and he doesn't know how to deal with that.
Ever so slightly inspired by Redstonebug's Ghost Louis au on tumblr. I say ever so slightly because it bears some similarities, that I realised after writing the first 2K words of the fic

Once at the head Scott grabbed a nice handful of Avid's hair and slammed his face into the table, rattling his goblet. “Friends, this man is the figurehead of a rebellion that I have just snuffed out. About ten men and women have been disposed of for their treason and more being hunted down as we speak. Today we are celebrating the death of this rebellion!”
Avid growled beneath him, trying to break from his hold and failing miserably, “You haven't broken us. My death will only bring more unrest–”
“Death?” Scott asked, pretending to be surprised as he bent down over Avid, lips to his ear, “Now, who said anything about me killing you?”

Scott has been dealing with rebellion attempts for centuries, though nothing had ever come close to felling him. He's been keeping a sharper eye since those mages had tried to put him to sleep, their failure making him wise to human adaptability. Now a new rebellion is being stomped out and their leader is nothing more than an angry boy. He thinks he has just the plan for him.

There was a point where he liked Avid. It was amusing to watch him try and out Scott as something no one else believed in. It was fun to play with him. To taunt him. To slowly drive him mad with little hints, just enough for Avid to know he was right, but never enough to convince anyone.
Now, though, he wanted nothing more than to sink his teeth into that bandaged throat of his and drain every drop of blood until all that’s left is an empty husk.

As the pain trickled into his neck from sharp teeth, Legundo did his best to relax. Gently leaning into the man behind him, he inhaled a shaky breath, eyes furrowed and focused on the ground ahead of him. And Owen drank deep, humming against Legundo ever so gently. Hums that spread heat through the surgeon's neck, an ache blossoming in his chest.

The boy, Fyodor, was looking down at his lap, a book in his hands. The late morning light rested on his dark, silky hair. He used his long, elegant fingers to tuck back strands as they fell to no avail. Fyodor sighed and closed his book, glancing around before putting the book inside his bag, leaned on the desk leg. Fyodor caught Nikolai staring for a split second, but both turned their eyes in different directions.
