It’s a selfie that Lippmann took last year when they were at the bar, all of them in various positions. Albatross is chugging a glass of beer, having not noticed the camera yet. Doc is wearing Albatross’s sunglasses on his head and giggling. Piano Man has Chuuya in a headlock, grinning widely at the camera. Iceman is holding up a singular peace sign, cigarette still hanging between his lips.
Chuuya doesn’t remember much from that night, but he does remember the feeling of warmth and laughter and home.
“Damn you,” he whispers, heart feeling fond, “you’re gonna make me cry.”
