Opening his eyes, Jason sits up from his bed. There’s a roaring in his ears, and when he ran his hand over the back of his neck; it came away slick with sweat. His heart pounded thunderously loud, so much so that Jason had to physically clutch at his chest, genuinely afraid it was going to jump out. A silly image of his heart doing just that, growing little legs and running to find a person that only existed in his dreams is enough to make Jason laugh, while simultaneously wanting to cry.
God, enough. Enough of these dreams that make no sense, these dreams that plague him yet lead him to nothing. His whole being aches for a person that isn’t even real.
How do you love somebody that fades away the second you wake up?
Or, Jason’s brain does not remember, but his heart still loves, and his soul still knows.

Summary
In which Gaea won, Percy and Annabeth died on their trip through Tartarus, Leo decided to stay with Calypso, and an adult Nico found Kronos to strike a deal with him and try to fix everything. The plan, of course, goes horribly wrong and now Nico finds himself a child again, being forced to relive everything since the Quest to Free Artemis.
Bound by the promise he made to a dying Jason, and to the three Fates who gave him their blessing in the other timeline, Nico must fight against Kronos and Gaea's forces, playing an entirely new role in the events to come and in Percy Jackson's fate, while simultaneously trying to convince his friends he’s still just a normal demigod.

Only the Hermes Cabin's not-quite Co-counselor Theseus, ‘call me Theo,’ doesn't treat him like a fascinating zoo exhibit. Which would be a relief, except he looks exactly like Percy: same green eyes, same trouble making smile, same black hair. The only differences are the fact that Theo is six years older, covered in battle scars, and the black tattoo on his arm. A trident and the letters SPQR.
Theo is eighteen, powerful, and unclaimed. And his resemblance to Percy could set a dangerous precedent.
