“Wei Ying!” Lan Zhan exclaimed, grabbing onto the man’s jacket and surprising even himself with how bold he was being. But he couldn’t afford to lose Wei Ying. Not again.
And then.. then the man turned around and… it wasn’t Wei Ying. He looked similar, at first, and dressed similarly as well, but it wasn’t him. This man didn’t have the same eye color, the same smile, or the same vibrant joy in their eyes as Wei Ying did. The man tilted his head in confusion, “Can I help you?” He asked with a gentle but confused smile on his lips.

It's been years since Lan Zhan last saw Wei Ying, and their last conversation had not been pretty. In his excitement to ask Lan Zhan ‘want a duck?’, he had typed so fast he ended up typing ‘wanta duck?’ which then autocorrected to ‘wanna fuck?’. He accidentally asked Lan Zhan for sex. Not only did he accidentally ask Lan Zhan for sex, Lan Zhan said yes.
In which autocorrect, misspellings, and ducks change the lives of two oblivious fools in love for the better.

Summary
Lan Wangji is accosted as he locks up the music academy by a man covered in paint, begging to enroll his son.
The enrollment period has passed. He can't possibly agree. But then the man shows him a video of the boy, the delight on his face as he plays, and Lan Wangji sees the potential there.
“Thank you! Thank you! This is the best day, I can’t wait to tell a-Yuan! He’s going to flip! We’ll be here tomorrow, 3pm, right? You won’t regret it! He’s gonna be your best student! I’ve gotta go pick him up from daycare, I’m already late, they’re probably gonna kick him out if I don’t get there, like, fifteen minutes ago. Thanks again!”
And then, the man is gone, without so much as a proper goodbye or, really, an introduction.

“Please pack a box of egg tarts with extra custard filling, a box of red bean paste buns with extra syrup, a rice pudding with extra candied fruit garnish, and a box of osmanthus cakes with extra sweet pear jam.”
Mo Ran’s eyes grow progressively wider as he lists the items.
