Yanfei knew only one person who bore such a feature.
“No way…” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Before she could gather her thoughts, the child stirred.
The little girl’s voice rang with innocent delight, “Auntie Yanfei!”
Yanfei stiffened, the words hitting her. She had never seen this child before. Not once. Yet the child knew her.
“Okay,” Yanfei exhaled, though her mind swirled with confusion. "Let’s head to the Harbor, shall we?"

Aventurine, as a semi-lone space explorer, was never built for companionship. Least of all with a split-personality, half-nice and half-murderous Starborn who was never supposed to be alive, let alone exist, and was very commonly referred to by enemies and allies alike as 'the most dangerous being in not only this universe, but possibly all of them'. Joy!
And that’s not even the worst part! The worst part is that the people trying to kidnap and execute this rogue Starborn have been the exact same people trying to kill him, too! And he'd been so good at avoiding them until now. Oh, well.
(Alternatively; in which Acheron and Aventurine are (unwillingly) space-travelling companions, on account of being hunted by one of the universe's infamous guild of bounty hunters. One finds a way to avenge his path, the other seeks to remember hers-- what could possibly go wrong? Especially with that captivating, mysterious woman, and Aventurine's arch-nemesis, the famed Veritas Ratio? Starfield AU. You do not need to have played the game to read, though!)
