Chapter Text
"Is it possible for a quirkless to become a hero?"
"Its not bad to dream but you also have to consider whats realistic."
Midoriya izuku knew he couldnt become a hero, he is quirkless afterall. Deep down he knew yet he still pushed through and gave his best, it was his dream to become a hero, to become like All might but when said hero told him he cant, that he should be more realistic of his dreams, Izuku felt his world crashing down and he watched as the deflated form of All might left the rooftop with a stumble in his steps.
For a while, Izuku just stood there, watching the sky darken as the colors change from blue to an orange hue. Izuku had already knew it was coming, maybe he just needed someone to tell him that he cant but right now, Izuku felt really empty.
Ever since he was a child, he had admired All might. A hero that always smiles and assures everyone that everything will be alright, Izuku wanted to become a hero like that once but not everyone was born equal.
Izuku wondered why the world was unfair, why people are born with amazing quirks and why he was born without any. He clutched his hero analysis notebook and went down the stairs of the rooftop, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.
The notebook in his hands felt hot and he also felt hot. Something in him felt sad, helpless while the other one felt angry and betrayed. Without a word, he tossed his notebook in a nearby alley and he watched as it hit a dumpster with a resounding bang.
He bit his lips to stop himself from crying and walked, his steps felt heavy and his whole being felt wrong and he didnt know why but something in him felt really really wrong.
But then he heard screams, his head turned, curious at the commotion when he saw a slime villain that looked vaguely familiar. His eyes widened and without even thinking, his body reacted as he ran.
He knew that scream and when a tuff of spiky hair became visible from the slimy villain, Izuku could only think of his childhood friend.
Kacchan. Kacchan. Kacchan.
Kacchan was in danger.
Izuku is quirkless, he doesnt know what hes doing but he ran. His feet carried him towards the villain and he didnt stop even when the surrounding heroes yelled at him for being reckless.
He grasped at the villain, digging at the slime in a desperate attempt to get kacchan free.
"Deku?!" The trapped boy yelled in disbelief. "Why are you here!?"
Without missing a beat, Izuku responded "Your face seemed to be calling for help!"
And everything went by in a flash, all of a sudden All might was there and Izuku could only watch in awe as the symbol of peace cause an updraft with air pressure.
After everything was undercontrol, Izuku noted people giving him lectures, the people who only stoodby and waited for all might were giving him lectures while he risked his life to try and save kacchan.
And in comparison, Kacchan was given compliments because of his quirk. Izuku's fist clenched and he grit his teeth, people werent born equal afterall.
He immediately avoided the crowd and the heroes giving him scolding looks, He didnt turn back to ask if kacchan was okay nor did he glance at Allmight.
Izuku took the long way home feeling defeated and frustrated to no end.
"Hey kid,"
Izuku stopped, whole body tense as his head turned towards the voice.
There was a person, obscured by the shadows casting from the alley, the person was huge and Izuku could see a faint trace of metals and a bright red scarf but what caught his attention was the familiar notebook in the person's hand. It was his hero analysis notebook, crumpled as it is and dented from when Izuku had thrown it earlier.
Izuku couldnt move and it feels like time had stopped. He was feeling chills and he knows just by feeling that this guy is dangerous, goosebumps ghosted his skin as he watched the man carefully, eyes flitting to the notebook in his hand.
"You dropped this." The man shifted, form coming more into view as Izuku regarded the outstretched hand curiously. The mans voice was gruff and low, Izuku tried to see his face but the alley was too dark.
All his instincts told him to run. To get away.
He didnt.
"Thanks but I dont want it anymore," Izuku replied, shifting on his feet and glancing away from the notebook to stare at the metal swords or were they knives? Attached to the man.
"Oh? Why not, kid? This could prove useful, it even has Allmights signature, you sure you dont find this valuable?" the man flipped the pages and stopped on the page where All might's signature lay scrawled in a neat huge line. "You know, this notebook of yours, if fallen in the wrong hands could greatly cause damage." the man drawled, watching Izuku like a hawk to its prey.
Izuku gulped, he didnt thought of that, he didnt thought that villains could scavenge a dumpster to find his notebook but this person, wasnt he a villain? His outfit looked off.
"Why are you telling me this? Arent you a villain?" Izuku mumbled, face scrunching up in confusion.
Izuku could hear the amusement in the mans tone. "Thats right. I am a villain but not because I wanted to. The world wont change unless someone steps up to fix it."
Izuku looks at the man, really looks at him as he steps into the alley. It was then that Izuku could finally see what the man looks like, a tall muscular man with a white sheet covering his eyes, unruly and wild hair with a red headband, he wore a dark combat suit plated with metal armor across his body to harbor weapons, his clothes were tattered and looked as if a bear mauled it. What caught Izuku's attention was the lack of a nose on the mans face.
For some reason, Izuku's fear vanished and he was strangely calm in front of the villain. He was trying to wrack his brain for information regarding a villain who wore this rugged outfit but came up blank. "Why didn't you just keep the notebook? Why bother finding me? It wouldve benefit you if you had kept it." he groused.
"It would but I dont kill all the heroes I see, I am not fond of needless bloodshed."
At this, Izuku frowned, the man was a weird villain, not an ordinary one.
"Besides I wanted to have a chat with you, kid. I couldn't help but hear your ramblings and to be frank, as I observed you, even without a quirk rushing to that villain to save another, I will say this once."
Izuku didnt notice that he was holding his breath.
"A hero is a title reserved only for a few, too many undeserving but you... You can be a hero, kid."
Izuku felt his mouth drop in astonishment, he felt his eyes watering as he cried.
A young child was wiping his face as a man stood towering over him, they stood not quite close to each other in an alley full of darkness. A villain and a quirkless boy.
Later, the two vanished without a trace in the dread of the night.
The next day, missing posters of a boy named "Izuku Midoriya" were plastered all over the city. A broken hearted mother cried and sought comfort to her neighbor, a boy named kacchan leaned against a wall hearing every word that Inko Midoriya had said.
It was later on that week that a villain named "Stain" rose, killing fake heroes in the quietness of the starless night sky.
It was also then that another villain rose, Rabbit. When asked, people would say the villain was Stain's sidekick and together they'll purge the world of fake heroes.
It might not be the dream Izuku had wanted but it was close enough, atleast he was doing something to fix the world and maybe to someone, he may appear as a hero.
(Unfortunately, Crimes such as the murder of multiple pro heroes wont go unnoticed and definitely wont be without a price to pay behind bars.)
