Work Text:

Ochaco stood, leaning on the railing of the roof. Students weren’t permitted up here, and there was no easy access. Though, with a little bit of floating, and rule breaking, she would come up here as a routine to clear her thoughts.

The white, purple, and slightly yellow crystals in the sea of ink above her were so pretty, and it made her feel close to home. Closer , anyway. UA was a one-of-a-kind experience, and she thanked those stars everyday that she was able to come here.

The familiar sound of a high-energy burst, and the following shift in wind pressure, rushed to her ears. Her eyes were drawn to green lightning flickering near the walls, a figure being illuminated in the contrast of light against dark. She sucked a breath in as she saw him.

Izuku Midoriya. Somehow, her cheeks already felt hotter, her shoulders tightening. I can’t believe he’s always up at this time too. The digital watch pressed against her arm read at 2:23 A.M. Thoughts were racing in her head as she watched him start doing small training exercises.

A stray thought wondered if she always was up at this time on this day of the week to watch him. She quickly shook her head, a small gasp escaping from her. I wouldn’t do that! It’s already embarrassing enough to l-like him! I wouldn’t risk being caug-

Her thoughts were interrupted by a rush of wind, and Izuku flew overhead of her. The screech of his quirk grew more intense as he was close, and then, it happened.

Their eyes met.

“U-Uraraka?!”

As much as she enjoyed the sight of him flying gracefully over her, she couldn’t just let him fall, and her impulses kicked in. The ‘hero’ inside her, as much as she didn’t think of herself as a hero, came to action. In one swift move, she jumped towards him, and slammed her hand against his chest.

“S-Sorry, Deku!”

Then, she slapped herself with her now-free hands, embarrassment flooding her cheeks. He’s gonna hate me he’s gonna hate me he’s gonna hate me he’s gon-

As she looked back up, the boy was encased in looking at the sky, his back hovering inches above the ground. He wasn’t moving, but she could tell he was still conscious. His chest was shifting up and down slowly, and he began to spin. Their eyes met again, and she gasped.

As many times as she had seen his eyes, she never let herself get enveloped in them. The two of them sat- well, floated there, staring into each other’s eyes. His forest-green eyes seemed to quiver with the winds’ breath, timbers shivering delicately.

The thought struck her head before she could stop it, her entire face practically glowing red. It was practically screaming at her.

Kiss him. Grab the opportunity.

On the opposite hand of the spectrum, Izuku was lost in her deep, dark-chocolate orbs. The swirling layers of complexity matched her beautifully. He was lost in a trance. So much so, that he didn’t even care to start muttering or even realize as she was grabbing onto his vest. He didn’t realize that she was slowly closing the distance between them. All he cared about were her beautiful eyes.

In a millisecond, their lips connected. A small noise of protest came from Izuku as he realized what was happening, but that diminished after he let himself go.

When she eventually pulled back from him, her hair now in a sort-of mess, she realized that she had failed to notice the fact that they were still floating. She also had overlooked that they had pushed themselves past the roof, and had settled next to the windows facing the kitchen area.

Bakugo stood dumbfounded, glass of water in hand, staring at Ochaco and Izuku through the glass. A twisted smile came over his face, and Bakugo disappeared into the dorms.

Unfortunately for Izuku, she instantly released their gravity, shouting.

“Deku! We need to go!”

A semi-soft ‘thunk’, and they were both on the ground. Fortunately for Ochaco, she had braced herself. Not so fortunately, Izuku slammed into the ground on his back, but wasn’t fazed by it.

She looked at Izuku, who’s face had hit critical mass, and was muttering to himself.

“I-I k-kissed her! I really did it!”

She got caught up in the moment. All the bad experiences that they had seemed to find at this school were better near him. He made things better. This bright eyed and bushy tailed boy changed her world. To hell with other people if they found out.

So she kissed him again, as they sat under the stars, blushing and in each others’ arms, until the sun rose.

He was her hero.

Notes:

I would like to mention that I am going to start a large scale writing project soon, since we're all lockdown where I live. Hopefully my story helped ya through some boredom, even if it's short!
