The life you deserved

Summary:

Everything came to a halt when a certain green haired student has died.

No one has expected it.

No one has noticed anything wrong.

That was why the death has brought a lot of tears, regrets and some unsaid guilts.

But to Aizawa Shouta, who saw Midoriya Izuku, a few seconds before his fall, the grief was unthinkable.

Perhaps, if they would be given another chance in life, he knew he would do anything to give his student the life he deserved.

Chapter Text

It was raining.

The clouds were dark and an obvious ominous storm was coming.

In spite of the bad weather, people still gathered to attend a funeral. They were all wearing black and their silent cries were loud despite the pouring of the rain.

It can be recognised that various UA students and teachers were seen at the funeral. Some were sitting and consoling each other, especially the girls. Others were standing from afar, eyes fixated on the coffin placed in the middle.

A mother was crying her heart out. Handkerchief was tightly held on her hands. A woman with spiky blond hair was also silently crying while comforting the distressed woman. The mother's cry was the loudest in the funeral.

Then a man walked slowly towards the coffin. Hair disheveled and was looking overall tired, dark hair and eyes went to see the person laying inside the coffin.

He was met with a green haired boy with distinguished diamond freckles on now pale cheeks. He may seem at peace with how his eyes were gently closed and by the small smile on his lips.

That may be right. But he knew it was not.

Not when Midoriya Izuku has committed suicide.

Not when the young boy jumped from the rooftop of Class I-A's dormitory.

Not when he saw his student, seconds before he fell on the edge, smiling sadly towards him.

Not when he heard his problem child's last muttered words of "I'm sorry" before directly falling on the surface below.

Not when he shouted Midoriya's name and still tried to reach him. Anything of him.

And then he knew it was over the moment he saw how Midoriya's body was splattered and bathed with his own red blood.

It was chaos right after.

He can hear his students shouting for help. The teachers were trying to control the obviously panicking students but to no avail. Ambulance and police were called right away. Recovery girl immediately went to the scene. Checked on Midoriya's body. Just for any sign of life. She knew the answer but did not vocally say anything.

They waited for the paramedics to arrive, to retrieve Midoriya's bloody body and to drive him to the nearest hospital. All Might can be seen going with the ambulance.

A bloody surface was only left on the scene. Various students who were still in disbelief of what just happened to their resident bright friend were still lingering near the splatter of Midoriya's residual blood.

Uraraka was openly crying while Iida and Todoroki tried to comfort her despite their own pain. The others were being interviewed by the police still obviously sad and confused on what had happened. The teachers and Principal Nezu were also being asked for their insights on the incident.

Whether it was caused by a villain's quirk or worst case, an intended suicide.

Aizawa was left kneeling on the edge of the roof. Staring at the concrete floor with his own thoughts still in disarray.

It was when he realized what Midoriya's last words and sad smile were for. The cruel reality of what just happened to his student came unto him.

He can't breathe.

Midoriya just committed suicide.

He can recognize how hurtful Midoriya's eyes and smile were. How despite his last words, a silent plea for help can be heard.

He needed some help.

He needed someone to notice how miserable he was inside.

He needed someone to ask him if he was okay.

He needed someone who can understand his pain.

He needed someone who can be that person to him.

And yet no one has heard his silent cries of help.

Not his mother or his friends.

Not his teachers or even All Might.

And definitely not him, who maybe the last person Midoriya would even consider to confide with.

He can't breathe again.
