Work Text:
Fingers gently carded through his hair softly, bringing him to wakefulness that Sunday morning. Those same fingers then cupped his face lightly, thumb brushing across his cheekbones. The touches are feather-light, yet it speaks waves of devotion and adoration. Bright pretends to still be asleep for a moment longer, basking in the affection.
Soft lips press against his forehead in a gentle kiss, followed by a murmur of “Happy birthday,” then quieter, “I love you. I love you more than you’ll ever know.”
Bright’s heart squeezes painfully in his chest, how he got this lucky, he’ll never know. He slowly starts to stir, letting him know he’s starting to wake. Blinking his eyes slowly, he opens his eyes to see Win smiling softly at him.
“Hey, birthday boy,” He greets him, still caressing his cheek gently. Bright’s arm circles around Win’s waist, drawing him impossibly near. He rubs his hand up and down Win’s bare back.
“Hi, baby,” He greets him back, a dopey, lovesick smile on his face. He looks absolutely breathtaking like this, in Bright’s bed, hair tousled from sleep, eyes crinkling from how wide he’s smiling, body relaxed and comfortable. Seeing him like this, all content and happy in Bright’s arms fills him with nothing but joy.
“Happy 23rd birthday, Vachirawit, ” Win says, smiling happily. He leans in for a soft, gentle kiss and it fills Bright’s stomach with butterflies.
“Mmmm,” He hums, pulling away slightly. Lips still brushing against one another’s he says, “I can tell this is going to be my best birthday yet.”
Win laughs, tucking his head into the crook of Bright’s neck, shuffling incredibly close. “The day just started, how can you know it’s going to be the best?”
“S’long as I get to wake up next to you on my birthdays it’s always going to be the best,” He says, honestly. Falling in love and then getting into a relationship with Win after months of dancing around each other was one of the easiest, simplest, and the most fulfilling thing he has ever done in his life. It was like muscle memory, the most natural thing he could do. They gravitated around each other and it was only a matter of time before one of them got sucked into their orbit.
It’s the first birthday they’re spending as a couple and Bright has never felt happier before. He’s always loved his birthday because it’s one of those days that he gets to spend with the ones he loves and just have fun. Now, he gets to spend his birthdays with the love of his life as an addition. It took him by surprise just how much he could love another person.
“Sweet talker,” Win chuckles, though his cheeks turn a lovely shade of pink despite his words. They stay in silence for a while, basking in each other’s warmth. After a few moments more, Win asks, “Do you want breakfast or do you want to open your presents from me first?”
He hums thoughtfully. “Depends. Does your present involve you riding me?”
Win lets out a tiny gasp and smacks his arm, making Bright laugh out loud. “Gosh, you’re crude,”
“Please?” He whines, pouting his lips for the full effect. “It’s my birthday.”
Win rolls his eyes, though there’s a smile creeping its way onto his face. “You always ask for that when it’s not your birthday.”
Bright shrugs. “You just look really good on top of me, writhing and panting-“
“Okay, that’s enough,” Win says, putting his hand over his mouth. He licks his hand. “Bright!”
Bright chuckles, smiling innocently at him. Without thinking, Bright rolls over on top of Win, taking one of his arms and putting it over his head in the process. He stands in the middle of Win’s legs, a smirk on his face. “I don’t mind this position too,”
He watches as Win’s eyes darken with lust. He could never resist him for too long. “Well,” he says, coyly, eyes smoldering. He spreads his legs impossibly wide, giving Bright the chance to see the result of what he did to him the night before. How he can turn from the cutest bunny to the sexiest vixen Bright has ever seen is beyond him. “You are the birthday boy after all, aren’t you? What are you waiting for?”
Bright didn’t need to be told twice before he was surging forward, claiming Win’s lips in a kiss.
Whole galaxies appear around them as they make love, never has Bright felt so connected with another being before.
…
“Your mom’s on the way,” Win tells Bright later on that in the morning, after both got out of bed and showered. It endears him that even though technically it’s his place, people always text Win if they’re coming over. He bought the place but it was really Win who made it into a home when he moved in.
He hums from where he’s standing in front of the stove, making breakfast for the both of them. “Does she want breakfast?”
“I’ll ask,” Win says, already typing away on his phone. A moment later he says, “She says just to leave her some,”
“Typical,” He says, so characteristic of his mother to not want to burden anyone. “Can you set another plate up, babe?”
“On it,” Win says, already in the middle of getting more plates from the cupboard.
It took 15 minutes for his mom to arrive, the doorbell ringing, singling her arrival. Win stands up to greet her at the door. Bright watches fondly as two of the most important people to give greet each other. Win bends down to hug his mother tightly, and his heart soars double-time to see his mother so happy to see Win. It’s an ongoing joke between their close friends and family that his mom likes Win better than him now. He doesn’t mind, if he’s being honest, he’s glad that they get along so well.
“Now, where’s my baby boy?” She says, after hugging him. She walks over to him and he meets her halfway, pulling her into a hug as well. “Hi, mom.”
“Happy birthday, sunshine,” She whispers as she holds him close and he closes his eyes for a while and enjoys being hugged by his mom. When he opens his eyes he sees Win watching the both of them, love in his eyes. They pull away and they all come to sit at the dining table, his mom sitting across the two of them.
The three of them fall into an easy conversation just like always. His mother and Win tease him from time to time and he doesn’t have the heart in him to even pretend to be offended, not when he’s feeling so happy.
“You’re coming right, Win?” His mom asks after they discussed all the plans for today.
Win nods enthusiastically, and Bright chimes in, sadly, “We gotta be careful though, mom, people can’t know he’s there,”
His mother sighs, looking at both of them with understanding in her eyes. They still haven’t come out as an official couple yet, and Bright knows it will be some time before they’re allowed to especially with the upcoming f4 series. Bright and Win understands all of this of course, it’s part of their job but it doesn’t mean that they have to like it. “I just wish you boys don’t have to hide, you know?”
Win smiles, though it doesn’t quite reach his eyes, and Bright on instinct takes his hand in his, rubbing soothing circles on his palm. “One day,” Bright says, promises. He brings Win’s hand up to his lips and kisses his knuckles. “One day we won’t have to.”
Win smiles again, this time his eyes lit up beautifully.
..
The day goes on by and Bright’s smile never falters, his cheeks hurting by now. Win is always there next to him with a hand on his thigh or on his back. His presence is nice and comforting and Bright is so, so whipped. He stays close to Bright’s side all day, only separating from him when they take pictures, so no one knows that Win’s actually spending his birthday with him. He wants nothing more than to take pictures with him, capturing these happy memories forever so he does just that, but they can’t post pictures like these.
Some day they can. Bright is determined they will.
During lunch with his family, even though it’s his birthday every one seems to gravitate towards him, and Bright can’t really blame them. He too was unable to that pull as well. They’re always one of his family members talking to Win as they mingle around, already comfortable enough to not always be side by side in family events. It speaks volumes to how much Win is so beloved by his family.
By the time they reach their apartment again, their bellies as full as their hearts. “You want to take a nap first before your live and birthday dinner?” Win asks.
“A nap sounds good,” Bright says, nodding.
After a change of clothes and tucking themselves comfortably in bed, Win informs, “I think I’ll set things up while you do your live.”
Bright makes a face at him. “Can you just wait until after I do my live so I can help you?”
Win shakes his head at him. “There won’t be enough time. There’s the food, the decor, the-“
“You know, I told you, baby, you don’t have to do anything special for me. Having my friends and you there will be enough for me.”
Win pouts adorably. “It’s your birthday!” He says like that explains everything. “Besides, you know I like planning parties.” Bright does know, it seems like Win has friends or family over every other week. He likes the planning of it, he said once when Bright asked him why he likes to hosts parties so much. He like entertaining people, making them happy and he loves food. Now, every time Win comes to him to shyly tell him he invited some people over he just chuckles and says, “Do you need my card to buy something?”
“Okay,” Bright says, kissing his cheek softly. “Just don’t hesitate to call me if you need my help, okay?”
..
Win wakes some time close to 8 pm, it only takes him a few stretches before he’s already up, eager to prepare for Bright’s birthday. This was his suggestion, after all, to have a small get-together with people closest to Bright. It was also his idea to have hotpot and Bright wasn’t the best at saying no to him.
“Hey,” Win says when Bright emerges from the bedroom a little while later after him. He’s putting one of the many bouquets of flowers Bright got into a vase. “Can you put this in the middle of the dining room? I think it’ll look nice.”
Bright helps Win around setting up their place before he has to go live on Instagram. When 8 pm comes, Win shoo’s him away from the living room, “Go, your fans are waiting.”
Bright goes on live with his fans, talking to them and singing them a few songs. He has been feeling nothing but loves this day and he knows it’s mostly because of the fans and all the things they have done in the days leading to his birthday.
“This is my best birthday ever,” He tells him, smiling a bit shyly. This year his fans really did outdid themselves, he’s surprised at the things they’ve planned and done for him just because it’s his birthday. Not only in Thailand, but around the world as well. He’s got the love of his life in his place right now, setting up their place for his birthday celebration as well, the cherry on top of his ice cream.
Win peeks his head inside his bedroom, an hour into his live, he looks guilty to be interrupting him as he mouths, “Can you help me for a min?”
He looks down at his phone, pretending to be reading the comments. He tells his fans that he’s going to get Ame and that he’ll be back in a bit.
He goes to find Win in the living room, “Everything alright, babe?”
“Yeah, yeah, just need you to help me move this table so people can sit on the floor if they want,” Win says, grabbing one end of their coffee table. “Sorry for interrupting your live,”
“It’s okay,” Bright says, grabbing the other end of the coffee table and lifting it together with Win, setting it close near the TV for more space. “I told them I’m getting Ame,”
“Well, don’t forget to bring Ame when you get back then,” Win chuckles.
After they were done, he lifts Ame into his arms and back into his arm, saying hello to his fans. He talks and sings to them a little while more, by the time its almost 10, he sadly says goodbye to them.
Bright joins Win again in the living room to find that balloons have now adorned their living room, both on the ceiling and on the floor, the hotpot is laid out immaculately on the dining room table, flowers placed strategically around the room. Win is really the heart of their home.
“Looks good, babe,” He compliments Win’s hard work, joining him in the middle of the room to take in what he’s done to the place. “Need any more help?”
“Nah,” Win says, kissing his cheek. “Everything’s all set.”
People start to come in at around 10 and their place is once again filled with laughter and light. They all comment on what Win did to their place, resulting in Win blushing but Bright can see that he’s definitely pleased. They talk, mingle and joke around and Bright is practically buzzing with happiness.
“Should get the cake?” Win asks after they’ve all eaten. He turns to P’Eed and asks, pleads, “Can I at least post when he’s blowing the candles? Everyone’s here so it won’t be suspicious.”
“Sure you can,” She says warmly, understandingly.
Win beams and instantly makes his way to the fridge where he has Bright’s birthday cake stored. P’Eed must see the longing on both of their faces, of wanting to be together freely.
“It won’t be forever, you know,” She reminds him. He smiles because he believes that, he does. Sometimes it feels like he just can’t wait.
Win comes in, singing happy birthday as he holds the birthday cake in his hands, all candles are lit. He kneels in front of him on the sofa, and he leans forward, blowing out the candles in front of him. Everyone claps and he notices that no one’s recording anymore, so he says, “Come here,” taking Win’s hand in his and pulling him up to come sit on his lap. Win laughs happily, settling nicely on Bright’s thigh, arms around his shoulders.
“Take a picture of us?” He asks Dew sitting next to him, and he stands up to take their picture. Bright takes the cake from Win’s hands so he could both of his arms around his shoulders, his head coming to rest on top of his. Bright’s left arm curls around Win’s waist, holding him steady.
“1, 2, 3” Dew says, clicking the phone a few times before he gives the phone back to Bright. Bright shows Win the picture of them together, looking happy with both of their cheeks tinted pink.
“Thank you for the best birthday,” He says to Win, looking slightly up at him before kissing his cheek. “I love you.”
“Here’s to many more birthdays,” Win whispers, kissing him softly. They both ignore the whistles and catcalls the people around make. “I love you too.”
