"Kara Lori Luthor?? Where are you?"

"Over here grandma, I am in the drawing-room…." Comes a soft voice
There you are!! Lillian was looking at a 9 year old girl in Infront of the TV who was not even looking up at her…. “what exactly are you doing here young lady?”

“Ohh grandma nothing much you know its time for my lucy lane show….” Lillian just looked at the girl who was just looking at her with her cute ….

“Very well I know that but you do know your mummy is going for a conference and if you don’t eat your breakfast which is still in your plate you will miss to say good bye…”

The little girl looked at her grandma as if she just got an electric shock… “Ohh no no mommy can never leave without saying goodbye ..come on granns u know that….”
Lillian just rolled her eyes on her pet name… “I really don’t know from where u get these wired names that you call me…”
“Hahah u should thank lucy she helps me….”

“You and your show lucy lane… if I ever get to meet her I should ask her to stop spoiling my grandkid….”

“Wow can you try to meet her though???” Kara was now jumping on the sofa as if it was the best thing, she has ever heard…. Please grandma please can you do it…. can u make me meet her please, I will consider it as my best birthday gift please…. Kara was really good at pouting, so she was using that plus her puppy eyes on Lillian.

Lillian was about to say something but was interrupted….

“Hey kiddo, I see u r blackmailing my mother for something huh with your cute pout and puppy strategy….”

“Mommmyyyyy you are hereeeee!!!” And kara jumped into her arms….

“I missed you kiddo!!!” Lena was hugging Kara so tight as if she was running away somewhere

“I missed you too mommy and ouch its hurting”

“Ohh I am sorry baby….mommy loves you so much that couldn’t help it …you see its mommys love…So what’s is going on here…I see you still haven’t had you breakfast I see ….”Lena said

“Yes can you tell her Lena that she needs to have it rather than just watching TV” …. Lillian peached in

“So I see that grandma is complaining about you kiddo….why have you not yet ??”lena asked the little girl who was just trying to hid herself from lena

“No mummy I was going to have it but than you know how I am ….I dint want to offend lucy by not giving her fully concentration of mine…”

“Huh huh !!!” Lena said and at the same time Lillian whispered “excuses excuses”

And both Kara and Lena looked at her with their green eyes…it made Lillian heart ache in a good way of curse… she still remember when Lena was at the same age when they adopted her and it was the best thing ever that happen to her and now she had a grand daughter who remembered her of Lena childhood so much…

“You know mummy granny says she can make me meet Lucy as a birthday gift for tomorrow isn’t it granns….”

“Is it now ??” Lena asked

“Hey I didn’t agree to it and if I ever meet her I will be just complaining for spoiling my precious granddaughter…”

Lena couldn’t hold her laugh when she saw Kara’s face in red shade at Lillian’s words it was as if she was so offended that she was thinking to disown Lillian…

“Ok ok I don’t want to fall in between you too!! So will u like to have breakfast with me kiddo?”

“Really yes!! I would love it…” the little girl gave her brightest smile she had ever seen, its really hard for Lena with all the workload and taking care of Kara without Sam …. She is really great fully that Lillian was there to help them when her wife Sam passed away 3 year ago since than it has just been just 3 against the whole world.

She tries her best to be there for kara whenever she can… and she is glad that kara being a kid also understand her and never complains

“Mommy are you coming or not ??”

“Yes coming” and both mother and daughter were having breakfast Infront of telly with lanes show and kara was explaining Lena that the anchor is really cool she plays games and shows documentary and stuff…

They were there for a while after they finished the breakfast Lena was about to leave for work when kara held her hand…”yes baby do you need something ?” lena kneeled down to kara

“Mommy I know my birthday is tomorrow but is it possible to give me mums letter before my birthday as in today ? “

Lena just looked at her…. kara rarely spoke about Sam but she knows that the kid do miss her a lot and doesn’t talk about her because of her she didnt want Lena to be sad…

“Hey kido you know the drill …your mom wanted it to give you on your birthday only…”

With that reply kara really looked sad and it hurt Lena to see her daughter like this so she gave in and as this was the last letter that she will be getting that Sam wrote for kara so she could understand why she wanted it so desperately…

“You know I can never say no to you if you look like that” and with that she went in her room and got the last letter and gave it to kara

“Here you go !!” and that made the little girl so happy that she instantly took it and run into her room….

Lena sadly sighed and was making her way to leave when Lillian holds her way

“Are you ok ? “ Lilian was really worried about Lena….after Sam's death, she has hardly been herself always trying to be busy with work but she made sure that she always had time for kara….she never let her down she always took care of her but never took care of herself. Lillian wanted lena to get married again but she always refused saying that humans only love once and for her that love was Sam and no one can take her place.

“Yeah I am …. Just feeling jealous I guess that at least Kara has Sam’s letter but I don’t” ….with that she left for work

Chapter Text

As soon as little Kara got the letters from Lena she went to her room and hopped in her bed being excited as it was her last letter from her Mom and she couldn’t wait to open it. She did feel bad thinking that she will not get them next year but she couldn’t let the thought ruin her mood so open the letter.

"Happy happy happiest Birthday to my angel. I cant believe you have grown up so much and I am sure you are already pampered by lots of gift by mommy isn’t it right swethere?.."

“Thank you, mom and you have to believe that I am a grown-up now, who got her own room 2 months back so no more sleeping with mommy and not really got any gifts yet as I am opening the letter before my birthday so I will get them tomorrow” Kara replied while reading the letter. She always did that as it made her feel as if Sam were with her and they were just having a normal daughter and mother conversation with that reply she continued reading

"But I have a feeling that you have not yet got them because as far as I feel you are gone on Lena who doesn’t have patience so you are probably reading it a day before…am I right Kido? " and kara was adorably nodding her head.

"I hope I am right but it's ok if you annoyed your mommy to open my gift first so no complains there. You must be thinking why this is my last letter to you isn’t it?? Kara you are almost to the age where I can share you my last wish and I hope that you will fulfil it for me."

 “Yes mom I promise I will” was an instant reply from Kara

"Today I am going to tell you a story of 2 best friends they were went to same college and both of them were insepratable from each other, they always had each other’s back.

Their name were Lena and Kara… (little kara was confused thinking how can she be in this story but before she could question it she found the answer in the letter).

Don’t get confused its not you but someone else. You can easily imagine her as a tom boy with short blond hair and baggy jeans with oversize t-shirt. She hardly wore makeup or even lipstick for that instance she used to run away from it”. This made little Kara chuckle a bit.

So now we know 1 of the the best friend its time to know the other her name was Lena..she was complete opposite to kara..she had good hot dressing sense that could make anyone go weak for her… she come from a rich family but that didnt meant that she was one of those kids who just show off and not kind to other. Lena was very kind hearted she liked to help people but the only thing that was irritating of hers was she was a major flirt and hardy interested her studies lets just say she liked to live her life tension free.

Flashback

"Kara kara karrraaa!!! That’s not fair…"

"What is it, Lena? why are you screaming my name…"

"Because you are a liar…you said you were going to practice basketball and there will be cheerleader here due to which I agreed to come along but look at me know I am dragged to play with you and there are no hot girls to cheer me up…." Lena complaint

"Ohh my poor baby Luthor doesn’t have anyone to cheer you that sad" and with that kara scooped the ball from Lena's hand and scored a basket

"Hey that not fair…" Lena shouted

"Ohh it was fair now to try to concentrate and you will score as well…" Lena could hear the mocking in Karas voice because she very well knew that sports in not her thing she only hangouts here because of the blonde.

"That sounds like a challenge to me …?"Lena asked by rising her one eyebrow, well whenever she did that most of them used to surrender to her but it never had that effect of kara

"Very well then it’s a challenge and I accept it" and with that kara bought the ball in the middle of the court and gave it to Lena… "you start and whoever scores the basket will have to complete others science project …"

“Deal” and with that, Lena takes the ball and tries to run towards her basket but kara easily scoops the ball from Lena and sticks her tongue out to tease the brunette and make her way towards the basket and she was about to score when she felt a push and fell on her knees therefore also losing the ball from her hand.

It was Lena who had pushed her so that she can get the ball as she knew it was pointless to try to get it from the blonde even though she didn’t play for the college team but she was a pro at it.

 

Lena always found it unfair as most of them who got selected in the team were kids from rich houses and as Kara was not one of them she was never selected by the team selectors even though she was very good at it. But Kara never complaint about it and in fact, she used to say that she is lucky to be here studying on scholarship. Lena knew her friend was sad for not being a part of the team so this is one of the reason she always comes with her to practice as the brunette knew this made her friend happy. But that doesn’t mean she can't cheat and so here they were where Lena had pushed kara so she could grab the ball and score which she did.

 

"Cheater cheater cheater !!!! that’s not fair …" kara was shouting

"Ohh everything is fair in love and war and this is more than that so it's fair so stop being a cry baby…" Lena teased her back…

"Cry baby !!! hell no I am not a cry baby… " Kara was about to continue when she heard someone entering the court and it was James one of the player who played for the team… they didn’t have a great relationship with him…Lena was only tolerating him because of her father as he was a good friend of James father.

“Ohh look who it is ….the basketball queen” James always had a habit of teasing kara just because he knew she will not say anything back to him.

“Hey, you dip shit don’t you dare say anything to her if you did then you won't be able to play your next match” Lena shouted back ….

"Ohh Lena why do you hang out with people like her you should be in our group …we are way better than them."

 “Please James I rather die than hang out with you guys and I am making myself clear if you ever behave like to kara I will punch your pretty little face.” By the looks of it Lena was very serious and was moving Infront of James to show him that she was not kidding but before anything could go off Kara jumped between the 2.

 

“We should go Lena we have our next class starting soon” and without even looking at James she dragged Lena out of there. She was pretty sure if she had not stopped the brunette she would have demoed her punch to James.

 

“I really don’t get it why you tolerate him or any of those rich brats..I just can't stand them …no one has a right to talk to you like that” Lena was fuming while she was rambling her anger

“Hey it's ok I am used to it…and I don’t want a scene because I don’t want my parents to take too much tension about me they already had enough with Alex.” Alex was her sister who used to get into fights a lot when she was in college which even resulted in her being restricted so Kara had seen her parents worrying about her but her sister did well for herself she ended up helping her parents in the small family business and she also trains young kids for self-defense. So kara always made a point that she will ignore everyone who tries to push her down or make her angry.

When Kara saw that friend was still not convinced she tried again “ Also not all rich brats are not bad for example she motioned her finger towards Lena” she hoped this might change her mood and she was right.

Lena fake grasped at her “hey I am not that bad”

 " Ohh really…you just won the game by cheating and now I have to do your science project,” Kara said rolling her eyes

“MS Danvers no one has a right to treat you like that but only me because I am your best friend and I will always have your back.”

"Pinkie promise?" Kara asked showing her pinkie finger which made Lena laugh…” yes pinkie promise”

Hello Miss Grant..you wanted to see me? Kara asked the principal who was asked to visit her office. Not that Kara was scared of her because she was always kind to the blonde. People may say that Cat is a bossy person and think she is strict as hell but she was not like that if you get to know her.

"Oh yes, I did. Actually, I wanted a favour from you. My friend's daughter is been transferred to our college and she will be in your class so I just wanted you to look after her…I don’t want her to feel lonely around and I know you are the best person to ask for because you can make anyone comfortable around you."

"Oh, don’t worry Miss Grant it's not a problem I can do that. What’s her name?"

"Samantha Arias…she should be arriving today and thank you Kara I knew I could count on you." Cat said to kara giving her a small smile.

"No worries Miss Grant..you can count on me…even though  you always pronouns my name wrong," Kara said cheekily 

"Well, I like it that way kirraa sounds perfect and can you make sure that you keep her away from the Luthor I don’t want Samantha to have a bad impression of our college by looking at her…"

"Ohh come on Miss grant, Lena is not that bad."

"Really I have seen her giving her friendship bands today to every girl around the corner. God know what magic she has on everyone that they don’t see her flirting skills." Cat said by rolling her eyes.

This made Kara chuckle as she knew that Cat didn’t mean it but it was funny to see how her best friend got to the nerve of people like Miss Grant.

"I shall make my move than miss grant…have a good day.." and with that, the blonde left the office.

On her way back she spotted Lena who indeed was flirting with a girl with her stupid friendship band that she likes to give anyone.

“You know Eve this is the only 1 friendship band that I have and I want to give it to you just to show you how much you mean to me,” Lena said to the girl in front of her while Kara was just standing behind her.

“oh, Lena…I can't believe this..I can't wait to show it to everyone that you gave this unique band to me only.” Eve said happily

“shhh there senorita,” Lena said by keeping her index finger on her lips… “ I don’t want anyone to know about this because you see that there are lots of people who will be jealous and you cant trust them what they can do so I don’t want them to do anything to you.”

“omg you are caring Lena..of course, I shall not mention it to anyone,” Eva said.

“that’s like my Girl” and started hugging eve

When all this was going on Kara was just looking at both of them in disgust and then she saw something that was hanging out from Lena bag. The blonde knew exactly what they were so she did the only thing that a best friend should do.

Kara went and taped Lena’s shoulder who was busy flirting… “hey Lena”

Lena stopped what she was doing and looked at the intruder and when she saw it was kara she just rolled her eyes and said “what is it Kara I am kind of busy”

“Ohh my bad I will leave soon but I just saw this falling out of your bag pack so just wanted to give it to you.”

Lena and Eve both turned towards her to see what it was and Kara gave Lena her very best evil smile when she pulled her extra friendship band that she always had in her bag.

Both Lena and eve were shocked to see it.

“Wait are those friendships like this one that you just gave me saying it’s the only one…” Eve asked pointing towards her wrist

“oh hh wai..wait I ca..can explain… it's not like how it is looking” Lena was literally stammering and this made Kara laugh so badly but she was trying to control it by flashing her innocent face.

Eve didn’t even wait to listen to what Lena had to say she just ripped her band off and threw it to Lena’s face and storm off the other direction.

By this time Kara couldn’t control her laugh and Lena just threw her a deadly look…"can't you just be happy for me huh Kara”

“I will be happy for you if you were any serious to her but which you were not so now stop being a cry baby and let get going”

Before Lena could say anything someone interrupted them

“Excuse me…can you guys guide me to the principal office? ” It was a voice that Lena had never heard before it somehow did something to her. It was a tall brunette with hazel eyes she looked just wow with her white dress that reached up to her knee. Lena felt like she was a lost cause just by looking at this intruder.

“Hey beautiful,” Lena said

"Hi sorry to disturb you but could you guide me to the principal office. I am new to this college” The intruder said

“Ohh please you don’t have to apologise beautiful but why do you want to visit the principal office.. if you are new you should see around the college not go visit the old lady who is in charge and mind you she is a little bit bossy pants. If you want I can guide you around our humble college instead.”

Meanwhile, Kara recognised who she was and was trying to stop Lena to say anything against Miss grant. “ohh stop it Lena…Mrs Grant is not an old lady or bossy…please don’t listen to her she is just joking” Kara tried to say to Samantha

“Ohh please kara just because you are her favourite and you don’t see it that doesn’t mean we all are blind as you…” Lena said to Kara and then looked at the brunet in front of her “So what you think?”

“excuse me?” the brunette exclaimed “I don’t even know you and that not good to say something like that about Miss Grant”

Meanwhile, Kara is just trying to stop Lena to say anything that will be beyond control but Lena being Lena she didn’t listen to Kara.

“Where are my manners…I am Lena… see now you know us and I am just telling the truth and you should see once you meet Mrs Grant..don't say I didn’t warn you later on”

Kara just facepalmed herself “Mrs Grants office is on the first floor to the right and I am sorry for my friend's behaviour and I am Kara by the way… it's nice to meet you....Samantha right?”

Lena just gave a shocking reaction to kara “how do you know her name?”

“I can help you with that Lena ..right ?? well you see I already know Mrs Grant can be too much sometimes but she is not that bad and I know this because she is my aunt and Kara here was suppose to show me around..isn't it and also please call  me Sam? Sam said by winking at her

“yup she is right,” Kara said…

As soon as Lena heard that she was completely flushed … “oppsi my bad”… this just made Sam laugh quietly…

“I must say it was a very good first impression” and with that being said Sam thanked Kara and headed to Mrs Grant's office.

“Gosh Lena you are impossible at least leave Sam out of this ..” the blonde said while they were walking to the class  “but it was fun to watch you getting flushed”

“Stop it... you are a dick you should have told me that you knew her and how she is related to Mrs Grant”

“excuse me I did try my best but you were too busy creating a goooooodddd impression…” Kara said laughing “now let go to the class”.

Lena and Kara were both attending the English literature class when they were interrupted by Mrs Grant entering with Sam.

“So class I hope that you are happy to see me today” Mrs Grant started addressing everyone. She did even bother to wait for the response from them and just continued as you may see I have a new student joining you’ll so I want you guys to be on best behaviour and try not to ruin the reputation of our college” She gave everyone her deadly look and non of the student dared to say anything

“Very well this is Samantha Arias she will be your classmate from now on so do behave and if I hear anything about anyone then you should start praying to whichever gods you believe in because I won’t let anyone spoil my college reputation” with that she point to Sam to pick a seat wherever she like

Sam turned around to see who she would like to sit with…when Lena saw this she removed her backpack which was next to her so that the seat was empty she was really hoping that Sam selects to seat near her. Sam saw that and smirked at her when she started walking towards her direction and Lena couldn’t keep herself from feeling butterflies in her stomach but they just disappeared when Sam moved passed her and stopped next to Kara who was just sitting behind of her.

“Hey, Kara would you mind if I sit with you,” Sam asked.

Kara saw Lena giving her signs to say “No” but Kara being Kara didn’t care what Lena said. “sure Sam…I don’t see a problem” with that and moved her bag pack allowing the brunet to sit next to her.

“Uffff u are annoying” Lena mouthed to Kara which made the blonde and Sam laugh at her manners

“Very well then now everything is settled I must leave,” Mrs Grant said to professor Jon and with that she made her way out.

With that professor Jon started his class “So student we are going to learn about Romeo and Juliet who were so madly in love with each other. So what do you all think about love” with that question everyone started making faces as if it was a boring topic before they could say anything Jon picked Lena’s name to say something who didn’t look interested at all and everyone fell quiet because they thought Lena will not answer him.

“So we do think Lena?” Jon asked

“well, tech it's simple for me... love is friendship… it's your person who you can trust and believe in and you 2 know each other out of love that you will do anything to keep each other happy and safe. So for me, love is friendship” Lena said

Everyone in class where shocked the hear something like that coming from Lena considering her flirting behaviour no one thought she would think something like this. When Kara heard this for the first time she started to see Lena differently she was having this feeling that she couldn’t describe. She didn’t know what it was but it felt nice and different, she wanted to ask who Lena was talking about but before she could think too much the bell rang and broke her out of these thoughts.

“Hey Sam are you coming to the library with me and Lena I just have to return some books?” Kara asked who was also looking softly at Lena

“yes sure if you two don’t mind” Sam replied kindly

“Ohh no we don’t” Lena replied looking at Sam and giving her a small smile.

Once they reached the library Lena had sent Kara alone saying she will be bored in there as the queue to return the books was long so she and Sam will stay outside.

“So that was something back there,” Sam said to Lena which made her blush

“well that what I believe. Do you think it is not right?”

“I am not saying that you are not right but I am sure whoever it is very lucky to have you”

“I am glad you think the same,” Lena said looking into her eye which made Sam blush and look towards the other side.

“I think Kara should be here soon,” Sam said trying to change the topic but Lena didn’t want to change the topic at all.

“hey look at me I know I said love is friendship and I know it's too soon as well considering you hardly know me but would you like to be my friend” with that she removed one of the friendship band from the bag and offering it to Sam.

“Is this your signature style to flirt? and why do I feel there are more in your bag” Sam retorted because she thought for a second Lena was being serious with her but when she offered her the band she thought that the other brunet was just joking around again.

“well yes, you can say it's my style to flirt and look I do have so many bands but I promise you this is the only last band I am going to give” and offered her the band and also she walked to the nearby bin and threw the access band in it “ I promise.... so are we friend?” Lena asked quietly even though her heart was pumping fast while waiting for the reply

The gesture surprised Sam it was loving and caring and all she could do was nod her head and presented her wrist to Lena so she could tie it.  

Lena was on cloud nine she was so happy that Sam had accepted her and before she could say anything Kara joined them.

“There are you guys… sorry the queue was too long puff,” Kara said and breaking the bubble that they both were in “are you guys ok because you 2 looked flushed,” the blonde asked being concerned for both of her friends.

“ye..yes yes... we are fine …don’t worry about it Kara and if you are done then shall we make a move I need to go... mom is going to be visiting today so I have to make sure that my room is up to the stander,” Lena said

“oh yes, you told me she is visiting.... do you want any help?” Kara asked

“no it will be fine.. you know me the room is almost clean and Sam would you like to come as well as your dome is around the corner while Kara is opposite side so it will be easy…"

“yes sure I would like that” Sam said and with that, the 3 friends parted their ways.

At night Kara couldn’t sleep at all because all she was thinking about Lena and who she was talking about she really wanted to know so this uneasy feeling that she was getting in her stomach could go away. So the blonde did the only logical thing she thought about that is calling her sister Alex.

“hey Kar, is everything ok.. it's a bit too late for a call” Alex said on the phone

“Hi Alex…sorry I was just feeling anxious so I wanted your help”

“What happen..did someone say anything to you” Kara could imagine Alex getting ready to punch whoever it was

“no no it's not that… It is just something that happened today" and with that, she explained what Lena had said

“ohh kara how could you not get it… it is so simple I am sure Lena was talking about you”

Kara was shocked but as soon as Alex had said it was her she was feeling good and happy so just to confirm she asked again “you sure Alex its me ?”

“ Of curse kara it is you …she only roams with you and she trusts you with anything and not to mention she will do anything to keep you safe so it is you”

“if that’s the case then why is she not saying anything?? I would love to have her as my girlfriend” Kara said

“maybe she just needs time so that why she said it indirectly…just give her some time she will open up little sis” Alex reassured Kara

“I love you so much Alex…thank you sooooo much you have no idea I was feeling so nervous…you are right she just needs time and I will give it to her… thank you sis for being there for me”

“anytime Kara now please go to sleep and let me sleep as well…love you and good night”

“love you and good night” with that Kara hanged up the phone and went back to her room to sleep.

Chapter Text

The next few days went by and surprisingly Sam got adjusted with the best friends they used to hang out together in college and even outside. Normally Kara and Lena always went for movie nights on Friday and eventually even Sam had joined them and today of their movie night.

“Hey Sam, Lena we are meeting for the movie night right?” the blonde asked 

Sam looked a little bit startled and started to look at Lena as if she was caught doing something. They didn’t yet tell Kara about them as Sam wanted to keep it low considering if things didn’t work out between her and Lena she didn’t want to make it awkward between them considering Sam only hanged out with Lena and Kara.

"Ohh Kar sorry I forgot to tell you that I and Sam are having a study night today….so will not be able to go…and we thought why to bore you as you already good in science…" Lena jumped into an explanation before Kara could suspect anything

This made Kara a little bit disappointed as she was really looking forward to spending some time with her friends. “that ok I could have come but I guess I will be bored learning the things I already know so it fine…but Sam let me warn you I hardly think you shall learn anything from this one but Goodluck…" Kara said while trying to mask her disappointment.

In the evening Kara didn’t have any plans anymore as she found watching a movie alone is boring so she did the only thing that could take her mind off things she went to the basketball court to practice and lost herself completely into it until she was interrupted by James.

“well well !! look who it is and that too alone…Ohh poor Luthor left you alone as well huh?” James said

“Please James can we leave this …what is your problem ??? I don’t even do anything to you but you always like to take a Mick… is it because you are just a rich arrogant dude who wants to show off…” Kara replied to James.. normally she always let things go off but this time she couldn’t control it. Maybe it was because she was scared that what James said might be true….Even though the 3 friends hang out together most of the time but ever since Sam had joined the gang Lena used to spend time alone with her than Kara, even though Kara ignored it but when James mentioned it this triggered the blonde's fear.

“wow the blonde can bark huh…looks like you finally see it Danvers and Lena have also come to the realization as well due to which she roams around with Sam and doesn’t need you.. You don’t belong here you should go back to your local college with people with your status” James hissed

After hearing James, Kara didn’t know how to respond she was having so many feelings going on inside her that she was on the edge of crying and she didn’t want to give James that satisfaction so the only thing she did was run…

The whole night all she could think about was James words that Lena doesn’t need her… "was this the actual reason why they didn’t invite her to study group or go to places alone” the more she thought about it the more she was crying…Normally whenever she felt low she always turned to Lena but right now it was not an option so once again she was on a call with Alex..

“Hey, Kara is everything ok”? Alex asked as soon as she heard Kara silent crying

“no Alex I am not” and with that Kara started explaining everything that had happened while crying softly over the phone even though she tried her best to stop crying as she didn’t want the receptionist to look at her thinking she is gone crazy.

After hearing everything Alex just wanted to come over and punch James.. "listen to me Kara don’t listen to anything that dumbass is saying….you are in the right place and you have earned that place, not like him who got in due to his family status. As for Lena maybe she is just trying to make Sam comfortable around as she is new and it's not like they hide it from you, they always tell you isn’t it?”

“yes! They do”

“look if you are so worried then why don’t you go and confess your feeling to Lena instead of waiting at least you will have clarity,” Alex said

“I think you are right Alex…I shall do that ..should I go now?”

“hey hey how about you wait till tomorrow and it weekend so you do have a day off so it will be good and right now all you need is some sleep, ok little sis”

“ok you are right…I will talk to her tomorrow itself…thank you, Alex…”

“No worries…just take care of yourself ok”

As the next day approached Kara was anxious and the first thing she did was ordering breakfast as a takeaway and bought some flowers along with it and made her way to Lena's room.

“here it is kara…you can do it” the blonde gave herself a pep talk before knocking on the door.

“hang on…” come a voice from inside.

Lena opened the door without even looking who it was “ I didn’t know you will come so soon… did you forget something ?”

When no one replied Lena looked at the door frame and it was Kara which she didn’t accept…”oo hhh I am sorry I thought it was.. well forget it what are you doing here that too this early Kar” Lena said to distract kara who was just looking at Lena with an unreadable expression…

“who were you excepting?” is all kara could ask

Lena knew it was pointless to lie “Sam”

“ooohh”

“yeah she fell asleep here last night and she left in a hurrying when she realized she was in my room while leaving her jacket here” Lena explained..

“Ohh okay…I bought you breakfast and some flowers” kara gave it to the brunet and with that, she entered the room… “it happens right sleeping in each other’s room when you do night study..” Kara started thinking to herself.

“Did I ever tell you that you are my favorite and thanks for the flowers…Kara you are best….” with that Lena grabbed the food and started eating

“so how was it yesterday,” Kara asked Lena

“nothing much it was good and we actually learned something can you believe it…what did you do yesterday?”

That simple question bought all the memories back from yesterday…about what James and Alex had said and why she was here..

Apparently, she was thinking so hard that even her friend knew she was thinking… “is everything ok? You look as if you hardly slept? Our eyes are looking fluffy” Lena left everything she was doing and went to comfort her friend..

“ye..yes everything is fine…ac acc..actually I wanted to talk to you about something,” the blonde said in a low voice

“kara you don’t have to be scared of me..go on what is it?”

“This is it, no backing away,” kara said to herself so she spoke “ you know in professor Jon's class you said love is friendship….did you mean it?”

“yes I did…so what does it have to do with anything”? the brunette asked getting confused…

“ you see I was meaning to ask you …do you really see it that way..if so then why didn’t you tell me?”

“ok kara you are scaring me…I not following what you saying…”

But before kara could say anything it occurred to Lena that Kara might be talking about her and sam…

“Ohh shoot Kara I didn’t mean to hide it from you…I wanted to tell you but didn’t know how to…just wanted to keep a low profile for time being…didn’t want everyone to think this is just a time pass for me” Lena interrupted whatever the blonde was about to say

“you didn’t have to Lena…I would have understood…I love you, Lena, no matter what…what is not there to not to love you…anyone who didn’t see how lovely you are, are probably blind…you shouldn't care what people say as they will always talk,” Kara said softly with tease in her eyes…

“Ohh kara...”Lena hugged her “ you really mean it, Kar?” The blonde just nodded lost in the embrace. “I love you,” Lena said

“I love you too” Kara replied

“you think she will also say it back to me as you said?” Lena asked by breaking the hug…

The question shook kara awake…” what are you talking about?”

“Sam of course and who else I will be talking about…that what you meant right when you said you will understand…?” Lena asked slightly being concerned

Kara was feeling as if she was being crushed from inside, her world had just fallen apart she didn’t know what to do but she had to be brave and not fall apart in front of her friend…How could she get this all wrong… stupid kara…

When she saw that her friend was waiting for an answer all she could do is nod as she didn’t trust herself to talk… and then again she was pulled into a hug by the brunet

“I knew you will understand…I was so scared that you will be angry at me for not telling you sooner but I knew you are my bestie you would have figured it out…do you think I should tell her? It will not scare her right?"

Kara again nodded … keeping her tease at bay “thanks, Kara ….I will do that right today…I think I will be meeting her for lunch so I will confess to her my feeling…ohh Kara what would I have done without” Lena was just rambling and Kara was just zoned out after a while she got up and made an excuse that she has to call Alex and left her friend in her happy world.

The blonde didn’t know where she was going all she knew was she was crying and crying. The whole weekend went by she didn’t leave her room all she did was eat junk food and cry herself to sleep. Early Monday morning there was a loud bang on her door she assumed it was Lena so she just told her that she will not be coming in today as she was not feeling well but when she the banging didn’t stop the blonde started to get irritated.

“what is it? don’t you understand I … "Kara stopped in the middle of the sentence when she saw who it was….

“Alex” and with that kara hugged her sister and started sobbing

“hey kara it's ok …shhh I am here now…” Alex started to pacify her little sister

With that, she took her crying sister inside and waited for kara to calm down till she was ready to tell her what was wrong. She knew something was wrong when kara had not called her after the last call due to which she came to see her and she thinks it was a good idea that she come.

“sh..she doesn’t love me Alex…she doesn’t …its Sam its always been her”

It broke Alex heart to see her baby sis in this state…   “It ok kara…but at least we know now…actually it's my fault I shouldn’t have raised your hopes as well… I am sorry”

“No Alex it's, not you but it's me I should have know….I am just being the stupid blonde that I am” kara said with her small hiccups “Alex make it stop please I can bear the pain it's like I am going to explode….please Alex take away this plain.”

“sshh kara I know it hurts but I promise you eventual it will be ok”

“no, I can please” Kara just sobbed and sobbed

“what do you want me to do? name it and I will do it…” Alex promised

“take me away from here please”

“but kara …don’t be rash ..what about your studies or your dreams…you always wanted to study here…”

“you promised Alex ..please I can't stay here anymore …it will always hurt whenever I see Lena and Sam..please…” Kara interrupted Alex “okay” is all her sister could say.

It had been 3 days since Lena had seen Kara she knew she didn’t come in on Monday due to Alex visiting her as she met Alex was going to see Kara but the next day when the blonde didn’t come in she started to worry for her friend. So as soon as the class finished she told Sam that she was going to see Kara and than she will pick her up after that for their dinner date.

But when Lena reached her friend's room she saw that the room was locked and it was not like she could call her considering there were no mobile phones during those years. So with disappointment, she went off to met Sam for dinner. Even though they were on a date to have some fun time Lena was not into it and Sam could easily see it.

“hey it ok if you want we can go back,” Sam said understandingly to her girlfriend.

“ohh no it's ok... it's just that Kara never behaved like this before. During the weekend when she came to see me she did look different as if something had happed but then I was so lost telling her about us that ..uff I don’t know”

“sshh it ok ….I am sure its nothing” Sam said trying to comfort Lena

“why do I always end up meeting  either one of you when I go out” came a voice behind them and both of them turned back to see James flashing his perfect white teeth.

“what do you want James?” Lena asked annoyingly

“Nothing really I just come to grab something to eat…ohh I see you finally dumped your so-called low-class friend… I am happy that you finally see the truth and I bet that stupid blonde knows it now as well after our last encounter” James said while feeling proud.

And this was it when Lena knew something was wrong that James had done something to Kara and due to which she is been ignoring everyone… "what did you say to her James?” Lena asked angrily

“well I just the truth that she doesn’t belong here and you see it as w..… ouch….” James screamed out of pain without even completing his sentence. When Lena heard what he was saying she could not control herself and punched him.

“I told you to stay away from her..and who the hell are you to decide where she belongs???” Lena was about to beat the hell out of him but Sam interrupted them…

“baby you need to calm down…he is not worth it …kara needs us let's go” with that Sam took her with her and they went straight to karas room which was still locked.

“it's locked again…I am not going anywhere till I see her Sam …how foolish am I??? how could I not see it ….I was so blinded “

“hey hey listen to me babe you are not to be blamed ok kara didn’t tell you probably because she didn’t want to think about it…that’s why she just changed the topic ….dont be angry we will ask her when comes back ok” Sam tried her best to clam Lena….

“it been almost 2 hours and no sign of Kara …Sam could see that Lena was trying her best to not to fall asleep she knew she was tried but her girlfriend was a hard nut to crack she will never admit how tried she is until she meets her friend.

“babe I know you will say no but I think we should go it's getting late and if we don’t go now then we won't make it back on time and the gates will be closed…” Sam tried explaining her girlfriend 

“no but I haven’t seen her yet” Lena protested

“I know I know …I promise you tomorrow will come back …please babe”

“Ok you are right” and with that they made their way to each other dorm

The next day Lena got up and went straight to see kara near her room but it was lock again. So went to attend a class which she and Kara had hoping to see her there, but she was not there as well.

“babe there you are I was searching for you everywhere” Sam come running towards her

“what is it, love? You ok” Lena asked being concerned when she saw Sam looking at her with Sad eyes she knew something was wrong but don’t know what.

“what is it?” she asked again

“well I went to Mrs Grant to ask if she had seen kara and …and..”  Sam hesitated to say the next part because she knew her girlfriend will not like it

“and?”

“she told me that kara is moving back to Midvale and the transfer of college is been successful as well. Kara herself requested Cat for this stating she has a family emergency back home and as Cat likes Kara, she made the transfer possible for her to a college back home by some influence. Apparently, she is moving out today and she was not staying in her room as she was clearing it out and was staying with her sister Alex in a hotel due to which we found her room locked.

“No..it ..it cant be Sam…she can't leave” Lena was shocked by the news and the next thing she knows is she is running towards karas room hoping to see her friend and luckily she did find the room open and without even knocking she went in and saw the blonde who was packing her stuff

“you are not leaving…do you hear me” Lena shouted

Lena's entry startled Kara “le Lena …what you doing here ….you should be in class”

“Oh so that you can leave like a coward just because of James.. And when were you suppose to tell me huh or you were planning to just go off without showing your face to me” Lena was proper angry

“Lena it's not like that I was suppose to met you after class to tell you and I am not leaving because of James…I don’t care what he says I am leaving because my Dad is sick and Alex cannot handle everything alone”

“ don’t lie kara I know you are lying”

“no Lena I am not I promise” at this point both the friends were crying “they need me Lena I can't turn my back on them”

“and what about me needing you,” Lena asked and Kara was about to reply when she saw Sam entering the room..

“you have Sam now…you can eat her head I already did my bit …I am still shocked that I have not gone crazy yet” a sad chuckle was heard from both the friends 

“Kar please dont leave we can sort something please” Lena pleaded

“I wish we could but we cant Lena”

“Hey Kara the car is out we should make a move” Alex announced when she entered the room and saw Lena and Sam there…she looked toward Kara being concerned as the blonde had decided to leave withot telling them…Kara just nodde to her sister and silently conveying the message that she can do it.

“now that I cant change your mind at all... can you at least tell me you will call me and update me on everything, you wont forget abot me” Lena asked her friend

Kara didn’t say anything and just hugged Lena tightly as both of the friends cried their eyes out. After some time when kara and Alex made their way to the car the blonde looked into Sam's eyes who was holding a crying Lena conveying the message to take care of her friend and with that both the sisters left.

It was that look of Kara that gave Sam the whole story that she had come in between 2 friends… they loved each other but just needed time to recognize it…”

By now you should know that this story was of mama, mommy, and her friend… Kara never contacted us back..Lena did try to find her after college but apparently, they had left town after her father passed away …no one knew where they went and since that day Lena had stopped talking about her. When you were born baby she wanted to put your name Lori but I insisted and put your name as Kara Lori Luthor.

Baby what I am going to ask you will be a little bit difficult I want you to bring Kara back to mama's life again so she can be happy again…they are made for each other please baby fulfill my last wish. I did find her number from aunty Grand but before I could contact her it was too late I didn’t have time left. Please baby fulfill my last dream…I have kept the contact number in the envelope …please baby, please….

At this point little Kara was crying and all she could do was “yes mommy I will be fulfill your wish I will bring Kara back to mama life again so she can be happy again”
