   Summary

   Carol has little use for Valentine’s Day. She and Therese both have to work today, and they agreed a week ago not to make a fuss about it, not to make plans. Carol rolls over, toward Therese’s side of the bed—and stops. There is a flower resting on the pillow.

    

   This was supposed to go up yesterday, but it just wasn't finished in time. I realize that Valentine's Day is a monstrosity of capitalism and has very negative connotations for some of us, but the thought of two women celebrating it in the 1950s feels very subversive and beautiful to me. I hope you like it!
