Helluva Emergency Chapter 1

It all started with a dull ache in the middle of his gut.

It began when he woke up that morning. He thought nothing of it. It was probably all that McDoogal’s he ate while at Moxxie and Millie’s house. Too be fair, McDoogal’s food had a reputation of being poor quality with their Crappy Burgers and Genetically-Modified Fries. Just thinking about it made Blitzo nauseous. He never usually regretted doing stupid things as minor as this. And he was usually not one prone to getting stomachaches. In fact, he couldn’t even remember the last time he threw up. Wasn’t Moxxie the one that was prone to stomach issues?

He slowly got out of bed and trudged to the kitchen where Loona was up eating yogurt. He was a little surprised to see Loona up this early. “Loona, what are you doing up at five in the morning?”

Loona continued to eat her yogurt, not even bothering to look at Blitzo. Although barley being nice enough to say, “It’s eight am, you overslept.”

Blitzo shot a glance at the clock, blinking twice. It was exactly eight o’ two sharp. A feeling of panic and dread hovered over him. “Thanks for reminding me, dear. I got to get ready!” He said as he began to prepare his coffee and cereal.

Loona couldn’t help but feel a slight concern for her adoptive father. It wasn’t like him to oversleep. He usually woke her up at five am listening to Bohemian Rhapsody at full volume while drinking three cups of coffee. But today, he seemed a little tired. Unfortunately, being compassionate wasn’t her strong suit; so all she managed to say was a gruff, “Where you stalking Moxxie last night, again?”

“Ye- No!” Blitzo yelled as he spilled the coffee that he was pouring in his mug, leaving a big mess on the table and floor. “Damn it...”

“You made the mess, you clean it up.” Said Loona in her usual aloof manner.

“Don’t talk back to your father like that.” Blitzo hollered as he began to wipe the mess up with paper towels.

“It’s not like your even my real dad anyway.” Loona muttered quietly as she finished the last few spoonfuls of her yogurt.

After that mishap, it was time for Blitzo to have breakfast, he started with some Fizzarolli cereal. He may have hated that clown, but holy heaven did he love his cereal. Especially with those delicious little marshmallow bits. He chowed down on the first few bites. But on the fifth swallow, a wave of nausea overtook him. He gazed at his cereal. Just looking at it made him want to gag. “Maybe a sip of coffee might help.” He thought. As he turned to look at his coffee. The sickly feeling remained. Again, assuming it was the McDoogal’s. He decided to put throw the coffee and cereal in the sink and get ready for the day.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 2

The nausea and pain were a constant bother for Blitzo as he tried to go about his day. While he was driving, he had to pull over a few times to get out and attempt to vomit. But each time, nothing would come out.

“Blitzo, you’re sick! You need to get home and get some rest!” Loona called from the car.

“I’m fine, honey.” He groaned. “Just a bit of an upset stomach.”

“You’re not fine! You were dry-heaving just a minute ago!”

“It’s nothing you need to worry about, Loony-kins. Daddy’s okay.” He climbed back into the driver’s seat and started the engine.

“It’s just all in your head, Blitzo. You’re not sick. It’s just the McDoogal’s.”

He thought to himself as he stomped on the gas petal and quickly drove off to I.M.P headquarters. Possibly crashing a few cars in the process.

Meanwhile in I.M.P headquarters, Moxxie and Millie were waiting for Blitzo and Loona.

“Where is that idiot?” mumbled Moxxie as he was feeding Blitzo’s eels. “He should have been here hours ago.”

“Yeah, he’s usually the first one here.” said Millie as she gazed on her phone, upside down on the couch.

Out of the blue the elevator opened to reveal two tall figures. Which were none other than Blitzo and Loona.

“Good morning everyone...” Blitzo said trying to show as much enthusiasm as possible while clutching his stomach in pain. “Ow...”

“Sir, are you okay?” Moxxie asked his boss while climbing down the small ladder next to the eel tank. “You look a little pale.”

“I’m good.” replied Blitzo “Just the McDoogal’s I ate last night.”

“Well, I reminded you that eating too much of that would make you sick.”

“Well I asked if you wanted some.”

“It was three am! I was asleep!”

“I asked you too, Millie, didn’t I?” Blitzo turned to Millie, still on her phone.

“You asked what?”

“You need to stop coming to our house in the early hours of the morning!” Yelled Moxxie turning redder than usual.

“Now calm down, Moxxie.” Millie calmly said sitting up as she put her phone in her pocket. “Would it help you if I rubbed your shoulders?”

Moxxie sighed. “Not in public please.”

Millie, turning her whole body around, got up from the couch and walked to Moxxie’s side.

“I’m sorry, honey. But it’s for your own good.”

She put one hand on each shoulder and began to massage gently.

“Ah! Oh...yeah...that’s the good stuff, Millie!” Moxxie sighed now obviously relaxed.

“Would you mind if I had some of your anti acids?” asked Blitzo, changing the subject.

“Sure...they’re in the break room...but only take one.” Moxxie tried to regain his professional composure while being extremely relaxed by his wife’s massage.

Blitzo scuttled over to Moxxie just to give him a quick handshake. “Thank you you’re the best!” Before hurrying off to the break room.

Moxxie sighed again, troubling thoughts started swirling around his head. Blitzo rarely ever got sick. And if he did, he never took care of himself until it got really bad.

“I-I think I’m done with the massage honey.” said Moxxie.

“What’s wrong?” Asked Millie, putting her hands of her husband’s shoulders.

“It’s just... I’m worried about Blitzo. He’s obviously not well and I’m afraid he’s not going to take care of himself and land himself in the hospital.”

“Don’t worry.” Millie put a hand on his shoulder. “You remember the last time he got sick? When he had a bad case of food poisoning?”

“Yeah...”

“We managed to take care of that without going to the hospital, didn’t we?”

“Mmhm.”

“And the time before that with that nasty cold.”

“Yeah...”

“And the time before that with that bout of the measles.”

“Yeah.” Moxxie giggled. “We’re so behind compared to humans.”

“The point is,” Millie said cheerfully, “No matter what’s wrong with Blitzo, we can take care of the illness before it gets too severe to manage.”

She turned to Loona who was now on her phone, “Isn’t that right Loona?”

“Mmhm...” said Loona still looking at her phone

Millie gave Moxxie a hug.

“Moxxie, it’s going to be alright. We’ll know what to do.”

Moxxie, now much calmer, wrapped his arms around her. “Yes, we will.”

Helluva Emergency Chapter 3

Blitzo rummaged through the cabinets and drawers franticly. Where the hell are those damn pills?”

The whole room was a mess due to him opening cabinets and throwing all the medicine on the floor while looking for the anti acids.

His stomach was churning more violently by the minute. He clutched it, cringing. “I better find these soon before I-“

“Are you looking for these?”

Blitzo turned around to see a small, young demon girl. A sinner, looking no more than about ten years of age with dark golden curls and eyes with deep blue pupils and black sclera. She looked like a porcelain doll. She was holding a pill bottle labeled “Moxxie’s special anti acids.”

“Why...yes.” Blitzo grabbed the bottle out of the young demons hands and chugged all the pills into his mouth at once.

“I was hungry, so I found a sandwich and ate it in the refrigerator. But it gave me indigestion, so I took one of those pills.” The small demon said in a rather snarky tone. “They weren’t that helpful honestly.”

Blitzo swallowed the pills. “That sandwich was mine just so you know.”

The little girl looked at Blitzo, “So are you Blitzo then?” Pronouncing the “O” in his name.

“It’s Blitzo, the “O” is silent.” Suddenly, Blitzo realized she was today’s client.

“Oh, your name is Dolly right? Today’s client?”

“Yeah. I was waiting for you for about an hour but I got rather bored and decided to look around the place.” said Dolly growing a bit restless. “Can we start our meeting now?”

“Uh...sure. Follow me right to my office.”

Blitzo lead the way to his office as Dolly followed behind.

Along the way, the pain in his stomach began to move down into his right side and was growing more intense.

A sudden spasm sent him leaning against the wall, grunting in pain.

“Are you okay?” Dolly said a little confused.

“Yeah...I don’t think the anti acids helped much...” Blitzo groaned.

“Told you they were lousy.”

“Yeah, about as lousy as your fat ass mouth.” He muttered to himself.

It only took about fifteen seconds until they reached Blitzo’s office. Blitzo opened the door. “After you.”

Dolly walked straight into his office, looking around curiously. Blitzo, coming in soon after, took a seat at his desk.

Blitzo got out a notebook on his desk and started doodling. “So what are you here for?”

“Oh! I’m glad you asked!” Dolly giggled gleefully. “It’s about that doctor!” Her cheerful mood suddenly turned dark.

“Alright, so what doctor specifically because there are a lot of doctors out there.” Blitzo said, doodling horses.

“Okay, here it goes.” Dolly replied. She cleared her throat and proceeded to tell her story.

“It was a cold winter night in 1942. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible pain in my right side. I cried out for my parents, servants, anyone in the house who could help me. When they all came to my bedroom, I was crying in pain. My mother called the ambulance to take me to the best hospital available. By the time I arrived, I was absolutely listless. Unaware of the world going on. Unaware I was going to meet the man who was going to kill me. Unaware that I was never going to see the light of this world ever again. I was immediately into surgery. But then, the head surgeon told the anesthesiologist to use cyanide laced anesthesia to put me to sleep...forev-“

“GAH!” Blitzo’s stomach gave a sharp, painful spasm.

“You sure you’re okay?” Dolly said, looking a little anxious.

“Yeah...go on...”

“The doctor said I had died during the surgery. And since forensics wasn’t a thing in those days, he got away with it.” Dolly had a grim expression on her face.

“Yeah, the problem with that is that doctor is probably long dead by now.” Said Blitzo, looking like he was ready to vomit.

“He could still be in Hell.” Dolly said with a small bit of hope.

“Yeah, there are a lot of doctors in Hell.” He gagged. He was feeling absolutely miserable. It wasn’t enough that he had to deal with feeling sick but now with a difficult case.

“Can you tell me the name of the-“ he felt a rumble in his lower intestines.

“Hold on a second!”

Blitzo made a beeline in a direction for the bathroom. But just before he made it to the door, something absolutely humiliating happened right in front of his client.

He soiled his pants.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 4

Blitzo was beyond humiliated. He dirtied himself in his chair before. Sometimes in front of clients. But it was never noticeable. This time, however, the client, mouth and eyes wide open, was looking at his now soaked-brown pants. Staring at it like a train-wreck. Something so disastrous but so intriguing at the same time. Just looking at her made Blitzo want to cry from embarrassment.

He ran halfway across the hallway. When he reached his office he went straight to his desk and looked for a brief second at the many buttons before slamming his finger on the “soiled my pants” button. Thank goodness he had a button just for those emergencies.

An alarm sounding like fart noises started to blare across the entire office as Moxxie and Millie rushed into the room.

“Sir, did you soil your pants again?” Moxxie said as he bought him another change of pants.

Blitzo, feeling physically and emotionally weak muttered a simple, “mmhmm...”

“Sir, you are not well. You have to go home.” Millie said worried for her boss.

“I’m okay...” Blitzo moaned, “I just-“

His stomach rumbled again.

“Oh crap!”

Blitzo rushed into the bathroom, leaving Moxxie and Millie out with Dolly.

“So...what’s going on? Is he sick?” Dolly asked.

“Yes. But don’t worry...” Moxxie attempted to pat Dolly on the head, only for her to smack his hand.

“Ow!”

“Touch my hair and you die!” Dolly screeched.

“I was only trying to help you!” Yelped Moxxie.

“Okay, let’s not make this situation worse than it already is.” Millie said butting in between them.

“So tell me, sweetie.” She said turning to Dolly. “Can you tell me why you came to us today?”

“Oh that?” Dolly reached into her pockets and pulled out a small, crumpled note.

She gave it to Millie. “This will give you some clues.”

Millie hesitantly opened the note. The note revealed to have several blurry pictures all having a strange tall figure wearing what appeared to be a white lab coat. Along with them, were many notes describing facts about the character.

The first five pictures were very blurry and didn’t give a whole lot of detail when it came to clues. But the sixth one showed something that really caught Millie’s attention.

It was a picture of Dolly holding his name tag. She somehow managed to get a hold of it while stalking the mysterious figure. The name tag itself was not very descriptive. But it did give one obvious, vital clue.

His name was Dr. Böse.

Underneath the picture, there were many notes written in bullet points that gave more detail about the dubious doctor.

* Dr. Böse
* Works at the Orpheus Hospital
* General Surgeon

“Moxxie, come look at this!” Millie said with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

“What is it?” Moxxie asked.

“I think we just gotten one step closer to our target!” Millie squealed shoving the paper in Moxxie’s face.

Moxxie took the paper and read through the notes. “Orpheus Hospital, huh? Obviously it would be in the Pride ring since sinners tend to work and have access to that hospital.”

Dolly gave a small, sly smile on her face. “If you are amazed by all that information. Look on the back.”

Moxxie hesitantly turned the price of paper while Millie watched. What they saw, was truly a peculiar sight.

There were pictures of many pickled organs in jars. Notes were written wondering what he intended to do with them but not a clear answer could be decoded.

“I only took pictures of them when Dr. Böse was in surgery.” Dolly said a little saddened. “I never saw what he did with them because I managed to keep track of his schedule to avoid getting caught.”

“Well, thank you, Dolly.” Moxxie said putting the paper in his pocket. “I think that is all the information we need for this mission.”

He turned to Millie. “Millie, will you escort her out of the building for me?”

“Sure will, honeybunch!” She said as she held Dolly’s hand and strolled out of the office.

“Bye!” Dolly hollered by the time she and Millie were halfway across the hallway to the lobby.

Moxxie sighed. Now with that out of the way, all we have to worry about is...

A sickening squelch followed by a loud groan came from the bathroom down the hall.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 5

“Sir?” Moxxie knocked on the door several times on the bathroom door.

The only reply given was a weak moan.

“Sir? Are you okay?” Moxxie raised his voice slightly albeit calmly.

Another sickly squelch followed by a louder moan came the bathroom.

Moxxie’s stomach turned. He did not want to go in there. He did not want to see a grown imp on the toilet. The fact the imp was his boss, made things even worse.

Moxxie sighed. He put his hand on the knob. Why the heck was he doing this? Was it curiosity? Or perhaps concern? “Is it okay if I come in?”

“Wait Moxxie don-“

Moxxie turned the knob and swung the door open. What he saw made him absolutely sick with disgust and worry.

Poor Blitzo was looking terribly ill to say the least. His face was white as a sheet with a listless expression. He was sitting on the toilet, clutching his stomach as he was shivering with discomfort. His soaked pants sat on the bottom on the floor in a corner opposite of the toilet. It smelled so foul that Moxxie, for a second, thought he was going to throw up on the spot.

“Oh! Ew! Sir!” He yelled shutting his eyes tight, plugging his snout and turning his head away.

“I’m sick, Moxxie. What do you expect?” Blitzo weakly moaned.

“So, you finally realized you’re sick then, huh?” Moxxie said regaining his composure.

“At least I haven’t puked yet...” Blitzo said with slight optimism.

“Well, I brought you a change of pants and underwear.” Moxxie grabbed the clothes he had by the side of him and put it by the side of the toilet. “I’ll be waiting for you when you finish up.”

Moxxie swung open the door. Millie had just gotten back from escorting Dolly and Loona was still on her phone. As usual.

“Loona. Millie. Blitzo is sick. We have to take him home so he can rest.” Moxxie said taking a few steps into the room.

Blitzo followed close by. He looked and felt absolutely horrible. He held his stomach around his arms. It felt like someone was stabbing him in the side with a sharp knife. His tummy churned and ached to the point that every movement made Blitzo want to vomit. He brushed past Moxxie over to the couch where Loona was.

“Loona, take my car keys.” He said taking his car keys and putting them on her lap. “I won’t be able to drive in this condition.”

Loona nodded and got up from her seat to go towards the elevator. The rest of the I.M.P. employees followed suit as Loona pushed the button which started a very brief waiting process of about five seconds. Enough for Moxxie to say.

“Well, you finally did the right thing, sir.”

Right before the elevator opened, giving them a chance to all crowd in before it shut again.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 6

The car ride home was mostly uneventful. It was around half past two by the time they had left, and no one had lunch yet. They decided to get some Winna Winna Chinkn Dinna on the way home. Obviously Blitzo didn’t want any since even a glance at food made him want to vomit.

When they arrived home, it was around quarter to three and Moxxie and Millie decided to stay and take care of Blitzo. They got out of the car, inside the house and into Blitzo’s bedroom.

Blitzo crawled into his bed. He took his stuffed horse he had by his bedside and hugged it.
“I feel like crap...”

“You look like crap.” Said Loona in her usual snarky tone.

“Loona...” groaned Moxxie annoyed at Loona’s lack of sympathy towards the situation.

“Oh, suck it up Moxxie.” She muttered getting back on her phone.

“Sir, if there is anything we can do for you, just ring this bell!” Millie said pulling out a cowbell from her pocket. “It was an old childhood treasure of mine so don’t lose it, okay?” She put it on Blitzo’s nightstand and she, Moxxie and Loona left to go eat lunch.

Now all alone. Sick and in pain. Blitzo could have probably managed to at least attempt to get a little bit of sleep. He closed his eyes and snuggled under the covers, Then, his phone rang.

He didn’t even have to check his phone to know it was Stolas. That bird was calling him almost every day. Always calling him “Blitzy” and acting all perverted. But he had to do it. For the sake of his business.

He reached his phone out of his pocket and pressed the answer button on his phone.

“Blitzy, are you all right? You didn’t answer my 9:00 call.” Stolas called sounding very worried.

“I was asleep, Stolas.” Replied Blitzo sounding more than slightly annoyed. “I’m sick today. Got some kind of stomach bug.”

Now he said it.

“Ooooooh! Does my little Blitzy-Witzy have a tummy-wummy ache?” Stolas cooed in a baby like voice that Blitzo absolutely hated. “Do you need me to come down to your house and take good care of you until you’re all better?”

“No thanks! That won’t be necessary.”Blitzo cringed. He didn’t know which was worse. The pain in his stomach, or Stolas’ baby talk.

A sudden, very painful spasm hit Blitzo’s stomach. He clutched it, crying out in pain.

“Blitzo? Blitzo, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Asked Stolas.

Blitzo, in the amount of pain he was in, managed to say only one word. “Ow...”

“All right! I’ll be right over!” Stolas said hanging up.

“Oh that’s just great!” Blitzo thought to himself. At that very moment, the spasm began to subside, and he was beginning to go back to his usual level of pain.

Moxxie, Millie and Loona rushed in to Blitzo’s bedroom. They were carrying many things such as ice packs, a first aid kit, blankets, and bottles of medicine.

“We heard you scream from across the hall.” Millie said with concern. “Is everything okay?”

“Honestly, not really.” Blitzo groaned. “Stolas is coming over and my stomach hurts like hell!”

“Well, we got some over-the-counter pain medication and some crocoaide. Think you can stomach that?” Moxxie said putting a bottle of medicine and a glass of crocoaide on his nightstand.

“You can take those pills on an empty stomach.” Millie added putting an ice pack on Blitzo’s belly. “I know from experience that one time Moxxie had a migraine his tummy was so upset that he-“

“Alright, honey, let’s not get into details!” Moxxie replied getting rather embarrassed.

“Eh, that’s okay...” Blitzo added. “Get pretty nasty headaches sometimes.”

“But migraines are different from-“

“Migraines. Headaches. Same thing.” Blitzo said, interrupting Moxxie’s speech of how he was always wrong. “Now excuse me, I’m going to lay down and try to either not crap my pants, throw up, or cry like a baby.” He said lying back down with his stuffed horse around his right arm and an ice pack on his sore stomach covered by a thin purple blanket that layed over his aching body.

As the rest of the crew got the message that Blitzo needed his rest, they put the extra supplies down and went off to do their own things.

“Finally, some peace and quiet.” Blitzo said to himself as he closed his eyes, trying to rest through the amount of pain he was under.

All of the sudden the doorbell rang.

Stolas.

“I’ll get it.” Millie called from across the hall with her voice echoing loudly so that Blitzo could hear it from his bedroom.

Oh great! Now that Stolas was here. He was probably going to try to coddle and baby Blitzo and if he was really unlucky, flirt with him. Ugh!

The door opened with Stolas and Millie in the entrance. Stolas turned away from Millie to face Blitzo who was still in bed. His face turned to an expression of excitement mixed with worry.

“Blitzy!” Stolas said scurrying to Blitzo’s bedside. “How are you feeling? Is your stomach feeling any better?”

“Not really, no.” Blitzo moaned, turning his body to the side of the bed away from Stolas. “In fact, with you being here, it’s probably making it worse.”

“Now, now, Blitzo, be nice to Stolas.” Millie said in a sing-songy manner.

“Now, now, Blitzo, be nice to Stolas.” Blitzo said in a mocking tone.

“Are you mocking me?” Millie said, raising her voice.

“Are you mocking me?” Blitzo said back.

“Cause you better not be.” Millie yelled.

“Cause you better not be.” Blitzo said, continuing to mock her.

“Blitzo, stop mocking Millie.” Moxxie said walking into the doorway.

“Blitzo, stop mocking Millie.” Said Blitzo.

Everybody groaned except for Blitzo who managed to do a dumb grin.

It had been an hour since Stolas had come to visit Blitzo and Blitzo was slowly getting worse. He had nearly thrown up a couple of times so Loona had to use a bowl from the kitchen for something to him to barf in. He grown very pale as well as cold and clammy to the touch. Trying to sleep was getting harder and harder because the pain in his belly was getting stronger and stronger. And although his stomach hurt horribly, he had no other symptoms besides nausea and bathroom issues.

“He probably has another case of food poisoning.” Said Moxxie. “Though, that wouldn’t explain why the pain would be getting worse.”

“Would it perhaps be an STD?” Stolas asked.

“Hell no...” Blitzo weakly grunted. “Besides if I had that I’d have pain in my-“

“How about that virus that’s been going around.” Millie interrupted. “You know, the D-3M0N virus?”

“Hold on!” Said Loona. “I think there’s some information about it on the internet.”

She got out her phone and started looking
up the definition and symptoms.

“There are three stages to the illness.” She said reading along the text on her phone. “The first stage is stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea. This stage usually lasts for about four to twelve hours. Then the second stage is vomiting and a fever which lasts about two to three days. Then there’s the third stage.”

“What’s the third stage?” Asked Moxxie rather worried.

“Your stomach swells up and explodes on the inside and you die a slow, painful death.” Loona said matter-of-factly.

“That’s horrible!” Moxxie cried. “We have to take him to the hospital right away!”

“But we’re not even sure if it even is the virus.” Said Loona. “Could just be the damn McDoogal’s.”

“Okay, now that you mentioned that I am horrified.” Said Blitzo. “Can we watch Spirit to take our minds of it.”

“Sure.” Everybody said in unison.

Stolas put on Spirt for everyone to watch and they all sat on Blitzo’s bed watching it together. Honestly, he didn’t mind at all. Except for the fact Stolas was here.

Half an hour in to the movie, Blitzo started to get really sleepy. He snuggled his horse, put his head on Moxxie’s lap, who was a little off-put by it, and went to sleep.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 7

By the time Blitzo had woken up, it was the middle of the night and everyone had left his room. The first thing he felt was the bile rising up in his stomach. He grabbed the bowl from the side of his bed and spilled his guts into it. He noticed that he was coughing up some huge things which was a little strange to him. So he turned on the light on his nightstand.

Seeing what was really in the bowl made Blitzo lightheaded from shock. Blackish green blood as well as huge, rotting pieces of organs swam in his bowl of sick. Feeling extremely dizzy and nauseous, he prepared for the worst when he pulled off the covers.

There was a huge gaping hole in the center of his stomach. What remained in there were rotting flesh and remains of his organs ravaged by maggots and bugs. Blitzo let out a bloodcurdling scream out of shear terror.

The next thing he knew, he was awake in his bed surrounded by his loved ones, and Stolas, who were at his side worrying about him and asking if he was okay. He felt a strong sense of relief that what he had experienced was only a dream. However, physically, he felt even worse than before. The pain on his right side felt like someone was hacking it with a chainsaw rather than being stabbed with a knife. His stomach, now so filled with nausea that he could feel the contents ready to spill out of his mouth at any minute. He felt sweaty, yet so cold at the same time. He laid flat in his bed, scarred from the dream and feeling absolutely miserable from the illness. This was more than just a bad case of food poisoning for sure!

“Are you all right?” Asked Stolas. “You were screaming loud enough to wake the dead!”

“Honestly, not really...” Blitzo muttered in a weak voice. “That dream I had really threw me for a loop.”

“Are you feeling any better otherwise?” Asked Moxie holding a cup of crocoaide in hands that he prepared for Blitzo.

“No...” moaned Blitzo. He looked at the crocoaide Moxxie had prepared for him. He felt too nauseated to even look at food let alone eat it. Why would drinking crcocoaide be any different? “Are you gonna try to make me drink that?” He said looking and feeling rather disgusted.

“Yes, sir.” Said Moxxie putting it by Blitzo’s bedside table. “You have to be able to drink something. You can’t just run on empty with this illness.”

“Well, I’m not even sure if I can keep anything down.” Blitzo sighed.

“Well, it’s just a test to see if you can keep anything down.” Said Moxxie. “Is it okay if you drink it right now?”

“Okay.” Blitzo said grudgingly. “But only if you put ice in it!”

Drinking the crocoaide was the easy part. The hard part was taking the pills.

“You didn’t tell me I had to take medicine after this!” Blitzo groaned. “What if I throw everything back up?” The crocoaide didn’t help with his nausea very much. In fact, it made it slightly worse.

“Trust me. It’ll help.” Moxxie said reassuringly while a little annoyed.

Blitzo held the pills in his hand. He felt horribly nauseous and the pain in his stomach was growing worse by the hour. He didn’t want to throw everything up after he had taken down. But he did want to get better as well.

He took the pills down with a bit of crocoaide. The aftertaste was very bitter and it made him gag a bit but he didn’t throw up and he was very, very glad he didn’t.

As the hours seemed to go by Blitzo grew worse and worse. The pain in his stomach was now so intense that he was in tears. He was going to the toilet every so often and coming back in so much pain he could only wonder how he managed to walk to and from the bathroom without collapsing from the intensity of the said pain.

Blitzo lied in a fetal position. He was crying from the excruciating pain in his stomach. His friends were all gathered around his bed growing sick themselves with worry for him.

“I think we need to take him to the hospital.” Moxxie said, worried for his boss. “This looks like a classic case of appendicitis to me.”

“You’re not a doctor, Moxxie!” Loona replied, very stressed with the situation. “You can’t know everything about appendicitis by Voxxleing it!”

“But you can from experience.” Moxxie said with a gleam of hope in his eyes. “I had appendicitis when I was seven years old.”

“W-what was it like?” Blitzo said in between sobs.

“My memory is pretty fuzzy since it was quite a long time ago but I do remember that I had a nasty pain in my stomach, like you had. I also had some vomiting and a fever.”

“Which Blitzo doesn’t have.” Loona said in a very matter-of-factly way.

“Well, it could happen at any point in time.” Said Moxxie trying to sound as smart as possible. “Mind if I take a look at your stomach, sir?”

Blitzo hesitated. He didn’t like people poking and prodding him. Especially with the amount of pain he was under.

“I don’t want to...” Blitzo mumbled as tears were rolling down his cheeks.

“Sir, you realize if you have appendicitis, it could kill you.” Moxxie said grimly. “Please lay flat for me so I can take a look at you.”

Blitzo thought about it. He knew Moxxie wasn’t a doctor. He didn’t even know what the hell he had. But to have Moxxie check him out was probably the best thing to do at this point.

Blitzo nodded and lied flat on the bed.

As Moxxie checked on Blitzo he pressed on various areas of his belly. Each time Moxxie asked if it hurt and Blitzo always responded with a nod and a groan from the pain. However, by the time he pressed his lower right side, Blitzo yelped.

“Augh!” He cried out as tears poured down his cheeks. “T-That really hurt!”

“Oh crumbs!” Moxxie said to himself.

“What is it?” Millie asked. “Is something wrong?”

“I-I think it might be appendicitis! The pain on the lower right side is a sure sign.”

“We can’t be too sure.” Mille said with uncertainty. “He has all the signs of the D-3M0N virus.”

“Whatever it is, we have to take him to the hospital right away.” Said Loona. “I’ll get the car ready while you guys prepare Blitzo.”

As they were on the way to the hospital, Blitzo was crying and crying until the yellow sclera in his eyes turned a bright scarlet red. And even then, he still continued to cry. The pain and nausea were absolutely unbearable at this point. Stolas was sitting next to him. He hated seeing his loved one so miserable. He hugged Blitzo, attempting to comfort him. Blitzo, although not he preferred to be hugged by Stolas, needed some comfort from the intense pain he was feeling and snuggled his face in his feathered chest.

Stolas began to sing him a song. A song he used to sing to his daughter when he was little.

“It always seems more quiet in the dark.”

That song sounded really familiar to Blitzo but he didn’t remember where he had heard it.

“It always feels so stark.”

Blitzo tried to remember the last time he heard that song. It must have been a long time ago since his memory about that song was very vague.

As Stolas continued singing, fuzzy memories swirled around in Blitzo’s head. He must have heard it somewhere. Some time when he was really little. If only he could remember that one specific phrase that really stuck out to him.

“I hope you take it as a sign that you’ll be okay.”

All of the sudden, a flash of memories flooded Blitzo’s mind. Memories of his mother singing that exact same song. Comforting him every time he was sad, scared, or sick.

“Everything will be okay.”

He remembered a specific time when he was five years old and he had pneumonia. He was very, very sick and his mother was sitting by his bedside. Comforting him and singing him this song.

“And if the seven rings collapse, although this day could be my last, you will be okay.”

Eventually he did get better, and every time he was feeling down, he would remember this song to make himself feel better. That was... until he left the family.

“And when I’m gone you’ll be okay.”

But now wasn’t the time to think about it. He was too sick and in pain to even think much. He snuggled by Stolas as he sang and comforted him all the way to the hospital.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 8

By the time the crew had reached the hospital, Blitzo was almost hysterical from the pain. The rest of the gang knew they didn’t have much time left, so they parked the car and went straight to the hospital’s entrance.

“Can you help us please?” Millie begged the receptionist at the front desk. “It’s an emergency! My boss here is very, very sick and he needs serious medical attention!” She pointed to Blitzo who was holding his stomach and crying his eyes out.

“You got to wait your turn like everybody else.” The receptionist said, pointing to a waiting room filled with other demons with various medical issues.

Disgruntled, the crew sat down in the remaining five seats. And the only two that were next to each other got taken by Blitzo and Stolas, since Stolas decided there needed to be someone to comfort Blitzo.

As they waited for their turn a nurse would open the office door and call out a name. Stolas held Blitzo’s hand the entire time, which calmed Blitzo down to the point where he stopped crying. However, after that they just starred at each other. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long before Blitzo interrupted the awkward silence.

“That song...where did you hear that from?”

“My grandmother used to sing it to me whenever I was distressed. Why did you ask?” Stolas said rather curious.

“My mama used to sing that song to me...that was when she was around...” Blitzo said with a depressed look on his face.

“Is your mother...”

“No... not like that...” Said Blitzo reminiscing his childhood memories. “She was always very busy. My father too. We were circus performers. So we always had to work and we were often left alone because our parents were either working or out drinking. My older sister, Tilla had to take care of my twin sister and I for the most part. And sometimes, our parents would even forget to put food on the table so the clowns would come by and bring food over to us.” Blitzo chuckled. “It always worried mom and it made dad so angry.”

“I’m so sorry.” Stolas said, giving a hug to Blitzo.

Blitzo hugged him back. “It’s fine. Even when we had plenty of food I was always hungry!” He tried to joke with how sick he was feeling. “Nowadays I’m usually hungry for snacks and thirsty for sugary drinks. Especially iced coffee!” Blitzo grimaced. For once in his life, an iced coffee did not sound good to him and thinking about all that food made him even more nauseous.

Blitzo laid his head against Stolas’ neck and snuggled it. Even with the extreme discomfort he was feeling, at least he had someone to care for him. Stolas in return, pet his head, causing Blitzo to smile and purr softly. For some reason, he felt safe in Stolas’ arms. It helped distract him from the terrible pain he was feeling. As for Stolas, he felt very comfortable as well. With Blitzo, nothing around him mattered. The weird glances from other demons, the stress of the illness, the fact they were waiting such a long time in the waiting room. And for a while the two demons were at peace, snuggling with each other, and not caring about a thing in the world.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 9

By the time the nurse called out Blitzo’s name, it had been about two hours since the crew had gotten to the hospital. Blitzo, by that time, was feeling so sick and in so much pain that he was growing listless. He could barley concentrate on anything but the pain and sickly feeling in his stomach.

He looked at Stolas who said.
“The nurse called you. Do you want us to go in with you?”

“I guess…” Blitzo said weakly. “Can you carry me though?”

“Blitzo, you’re not a-“

“Please?”

The helpless look on Blitzo’s face almost made Stolas cry a little. He didn’t like seeing his little Blitzy in this state. He scooped him up in his arms, in which he was surprisingly a little on the heavy side.

“Son of a- What kinds of food are you eating?!?”

“Gotta tell ya, I love my coffee and food!”

With Moxxie and Millie following closely behind, Stolas carried a sickly Blitzo through the halls of the hospital as the nurse lead them from corridor to corridor.

“Stolas, my tummy hurts…” Blitzo weakly moaned, snuggling up to Stolas. “…I feel like I’m gonna throw up…”

“I know…” Stolas said trying to comfort Blitzo as much as he could. “It’s going to be okay.”

The nurse finally lead them into a hospital room. As Moxxie began talking to the nurse, Stolas tucked Blitzo into bed.

“I also brought your stuffed horse with you, just to make the experience less scary.”

Blitzo grabbed his stuffed horse and cuddled it. He made a grumpy face at Stolas, as if he didn’t like being babied.

Stolas sighed. “I know. You don’t like being treated like a child. You are just like my daughter that way.”

Blitzo wanted to make a rude remark back, but he was too sick and tired to talk much. He just wanted the pain to go away and to get some sleep.

The nurse came by to check on Blitzo. “So, Blitzo? What are your symptoms right now?” She said while putting the blood pressure cuff around his arm.

“Well, I woke up with pain in my stomach and some nausea in the morning and during the afternoon, I had some diarrhea. And they’ve been bothering me ever since.”

“Mmhmm.” The nurse said as the blood pressure cuff tightened, giving Blitzo’s arm a big squeeze to the point that it hurt.

“Ow!” Yelled Blitzo, feeling very uncomfortable.

“It’s okay, Blitzo.” Said Millie calmly. “Just be patient with the nurse.”

“Are you still experiencing these symptoms?” Said the nurse as the blood pressure cuff released its grip, giving Blitzo at least, some relief.

“Yeah.” Blitzo said before the nurse but the thermometer in his mouth. Everyone waited for a minute or two before the thermometer beeped and the nurse took it out of Blitzo’s mouth.

“122.4 degrees. A low grade fever. The normal temperature for an imp should be 120.” She said before pressing on his lower right side of his stomach.

Blitzo screamed in pain, and in retaliation, bit the nurse on the arm. The nurse jumped back, alarmed at Blitzo’s sudden attack as the rest of the crew rushed to her aide.

“Oh, my goodness!” Moxxie cried. “I’m so sorry!”

He took a look at her arm. A large bite mark sunk into the nurses skin causing it to bleed profusely. He then glared at Blitzo who had a very scared expression on his face.

“Sir! Can’t you just behave yourself at a time like this!?!” He practically screamed at Blitzo.

“She hurt me!” Blitzo yelled back in a rather frightened tone.

“She was only trying to see if you needed help!” Moxxie shouted.

Blitzo eyes began to well up with tears as Moxxie ranted and raved about how he wasn’t a considerate imp and how much he probably hurt that nurse and how he should say sorry until he began to cry. And when Moxxie finally noticed, his heart began to soften a little.

“Oh, all right! I guess I was a little harsh!” He said grumpily.

“I’m sorry…” Blitzo mumbled “It’s just…I…”

“You what?”

“I…never had surgery before. And the only other time I had to stay in the hospital was-“

“The time Moxxie and I found you on the streets.” Millie said coming over to the bedside. “I got to tell you, you were the skinniest little thing when we first found you. But you had such a voracious appetite, if you were right next to a plate of food and it be all gone in less than a minute.”

“That’s impossible, Millie!” Said Moxxie. “People can’t eat that quick without choking!”

“If you were starving like me, then yes, you probably would have.” Blitzo replied.

“By the way, is the nurse okay?” Moxxie asked rather worried.

“Yeah, she’s fine!” Millie said cheerfully. “She’s fetching the doctor now!”

“Okay, that’s good.” Moxxie replied. “Now all we got to do is wait for the doctor.”

It took about half an hour before the nurse came back with news from the doctor.

“The doctor has ordered an emergency surgery for Blitzo.”

“Already?” Asked Moxxie rather confused. “But what about the testing?”

“That doesn’t matter, everybody out!” She yelled, shoving the rest of the crew out the door. With them gone, she and Blitzo were the only ones in the room.

“Now, time for the anesthesia.” She said bringing an IV to Blitzo’s side. Several nurses came in and pinned Blitzo to the bed as she stuck it in his arm. Blitzo cried for his employee’s names and even Stolas’ name but no one came to his recuse. As the effects of the anesthesia began to take effect, he grew sleepier and sleepier, he didn’t even notice that he was being wheeled off to the operating room where Dr. Böse was waiting for him.

Helluva Emergency Chapter 10

As Moxxie and the others were walking down to the waiting room. Each of them had a feeling of dread that something absolutely terrible was going to happen to Blitzo, but not one of them wanted to be the one to break the awkward silence that loomed over them. It took about a minute or so of walking in silence until Millie, the bravest of the group, spoke.

“You know, that nurse was acting awfully suspicious.”

A few seconds passed before, Loona, the second bravest, responded.

“Guess I wasn’t the only one who thought that…”

“Yeah, I mean, she didn’t even run tests or anything like that!” Moxxie said rather concerned. “It’s a little more than suspicious to me.”

“Wait a minute!” Stolas said suddenly, stopping the crew in their tracks. “Which hospital are we in?”

They glanced around. There were signs and posters on the wall proudly expressing the name of the hospital.

‘Injured? Sick? Orpheus Hospital will get you all fixed up!’ One sign read.

‘Orpheus Hospital, the best hospital in the underworld!’ Another sign read.

‘Orpheus Hospital, the number one hospital for brain transplants! Are they legal? Probably not!’ Said another sign.

It didn’t really take long for any of them to realize it was Orpheus Hospital with all the signs scattered around.

“So this is Orpheus Hospital, huh?” Said Millie looking around the hallway. “Pretty nice for a typical hospital in hell!”

Moxxie had a sudden feeling of dread that began to grow in the pit of his stomach. Wasn’t that the hospital Dolly was talking about? The one that Dr. Böse worked at?

“Guys!” He suddenly blurted out. “Isn’t that the hospital that Dr. Böse works at?”

“Shut up, fatty!” Snapped Loona.

“Moxxie’s right!” Said Millie. “Blitzo could be in big trouble! Do you still have that note in your pocket?” She said turning to her husband.

“Yeah.” He replied grabbing the piece of crumpled up paper from his pocket and passing it to Millie.

Millie opened the piece of paper and gazed through it throughly. As she read out the notes written on them, Moxxie, Stolas and Loona gathered around her and listened.

“Wait, didn’t we already read this?” Millie asked rather confused.

“Millie, Stolas and Loona don’t know about the situation!” Moxxie replied in an obviously stressed tone of voice.

“What situation?” Asked Stolas curiously.

“Oh, a client gave us this note at work for a mission we had to do. But Blitzo got sick so we decided to put it off.” Millie said sheepishly.

“Can you just finish reading the note!” Loona said impatiently.

“Alright, I will.”

As Millie continued to read the note to everyone. Worries began to pop into her head.

“Dr. Böse could be taking organs out of patients and selling them on the black market.” She thought as she read the cryptic words and pictures. She felt a chill ran down her spine. It couldn’t mean Blitzo could be his next victim, could it? Unfortunately, the scene at the hospital was far too sketchy to ignore. She had to speak up. She had to say something.

“I think Blitzo might be in big trouble!” Millie exclaimed worryingly. “If he’s with Dr. Böse, there could be a chance he could die!”

“How’s that then?” Asked Moxxie slightly perplexed.

“Well, on the back of this paper, there are pictures of organs in jars, right?” Millie replied pointing to the pictures on the note.

“And what about the other pictures on the front?” Asked Loona.

“I don’t know…” replied Millie, shaking her head. “But we got to find out!”

Millie flipped over the note to the front and examined the blurry pictures. What she could make out of them were quite a frightening shock. The first picture was a man in a lab coat talking with a man with a jar of organs. The second was a picture of a truck. The label was very blurry but Millie could definitely tell it was a truck. The third picture was a picture of what seemed to be a liver on a plate but it was the blurriest of the pictures and Millie couldn’t make it out. The fourth and fifth pictures were both of the back of the trucks, filled with organs in jars. It suddenly all made sense now.

“How did we overlook these?” Millie asked absolutely shocked.

“Probably just assumed the clues weren’t so important because we were so busy with the illness.” Moxxie admitted.

“Well, from this we can tell that Dr. Böse may be selling organs somewhere.”

“Probably the Black Market.” Replied Loona.

“Well, there’s no time like the present. We got to find Blitzo and fast!” Millie cried.

The crew proceeded to look all over the hospital while Blitzo was still asleep.

Not knowing what harm was being done to him.

“The patient looks to be in stable condition…”

Blitzo began to slowly regain consciousness from a dead, dreamless sleep. He could hear the doctors talking and then a heart monitor beeping. Was it all over? He still didn’t have the energy to open his eyes, so he didn’t know for sure.

“Hand me the scalpel, Nancy! I’m gonna take a look at his nice, plump, juicy stomach right there!”

“Scalpel?” “Juicy Stomach!?”

Then, Blitzo opened his eyes, he was in an operating room filled with surgeons watching over him. He didn’t even have time to react before the head surgeon made an incision into his stomach.

Blitzo screamed and, without warning, punched the surgeon in the face. He got up from the table and ripped the scalpel out of his stomach, pointing it towards the doctors. Bile began to pour out of his belly. The doctors began to each freak out that their patient was now awake and beginning to become aware of what was going on. They each grabbed some tranquilizers and stood around Blitzo. Blitzo stared back at them with a grim look on his face, cringing from the pain in his incision and his right side. They each stared at each other, wondering who would make the first move.

That is until one doctor noticed something was wrong.

“The poor thing is in no contusion to fight. He’s got bile leaking out of an incision in his stomach.”

“A what in my what?” Blitzo asked rather confused.

“We didn’t finish the surgery yet so we didn’t sew your stomach up yet.”

Still confused, Blitzo looked down at his stomach. His skin was folded open to reveal his exposed organs which were filled with blood and bile. Blitzo fell into shock. He felt extremely dizzy and nauseated and lied back down on the hospital bed. The doctors put the tranquilizers down and decided to go back to their surgery. Blitzo watched as the doctors gave more anesthesia through an iv and and by putting an oxygen mask on him. He was too dazed to even fight. As he began to fall asleep he thought to himself.

“Guys, wherever you are, I need your help!”

And he went to sleep.
