Chapter 1: first encounter
Chapter Text
"Remember to be behaved, your relatives are coming over and you wouldn't want to make a mess already would you?" Their mother reminded the two brunettes.
The twins looked at each other before nodding and running off to do their own things instead of helping out. At the time, the boys were only 7 years old, still growing and having a quite decent life. "Hey Tech, why are they coming over?" Wilbur questioned in which Tech or Techno shrugged and continued talking about another unrelated topic.
"Boys!" Their mother called out from downstairs, making them jump due to the unexpected calling. They scrambled to the door and began walking downstairs to be greeted with the mouthwatering smell of food, laid out on the table. The aroma of each food item filled the air, lingering for a while before shortly disappearing.
Techno and Wilbur were hard to differentiate, the same height, hair, eyes, almost everything about them is the same except for one minor detail, their personalities.
Wilbur was outgoing, loud at times and energetic though he had a soothing singing voice, something which allows Techno to sleep every night instead of staring at the ceiling for the next five hours.
Techno on the other hand was much more introverted, lacking the abilities to have an actual conversation with people, always sat in one place reading a book, he was the nerdy one amongst the two of them.
Despite their different personality traits, they promised to always stick together and not leave each other's sides, even if it meant dying the same time the other did. Due to Techno mostly being well-behaved and quiet, there was no doubt that he was favoured more than Wilbur.
Wilbur was jealous in the beginning but got used to it over time, in the end he was Techno's favourite and Techno was his favourite.
Techno and Wilbur sat down at their respective seats, it seemed that they never left each other sides, always stuck together. People normally wondered how painful and tiring it was to have the same person constantly with you at all times unless privacy is needed.
Soon, a couple of their relatives had already arrived, the sounds of adults having peaceful conversations whilst the noisy and boisterous kids overtook them, filling the air.
It had been all fun and games until...
"Crash!" Was what Wilbur and Techno had last heard before the room had went pitch black.
Techno dashed away at the sight of three unknown men breaking down the door with swords, bows and arrows. Though uneducated on what to do in this situation, they knew it was danger and stayed as quiet as possible.
Plates and cups shattered at the impact of the fall, forks, spoons and knives clanged against on another as the table had been pushed over. Techno and Wilbur ducked quietly at their hiding spot, too scared to even dare breath or make a single noise. One sound and they were goners, killed at the sight of these ruthless men.
They breathed heavily, the sounds and pleads of their family members had ended, were they gone? Loud footsteps could be heard going up the stairs, they had a chance to escape but knowing how there were three people, one could have decided to stay downstairs.
Techno could not help but notice a piece of the shattered plates were right in front of their safe spot and decided to abandon the hiding spot for a second, sacrificing himself just to have a weapon which were no match to the blades of their swords and sharp tips of their arrows.
Blood was splattered all over the walls, multiple arrows pierced through their body and deep cuts were found all over the bodies.
Techno's eyes widened in fear, he didn't know if he wanted to scream or vomit but resisted the urge, focusing on the task at hand. He carefully picked up the broke piece of plate, trying not to cut himself in the process. Footsteps could be heard going down the stairs, startling Techno. He scurried back to their safe spot as quick as possible, fearing that his life might be taken in front of his own brother.
"Where... boy be?"
"Does it look... where he is?"
"Whatever let's... blow up the place."
Wlbur clapped a hand over his mouth while Techno stood still, terrified of the words which had spewed out of their mouths. They turned around to see an exit from the house, it was conveniently a part of the spot they hid at when they first found it. It was barely large enough for them to squeeze through and get out.
Wilbur was the first to get out of the house, they had been using the little area ever since they had found out about it. It was a great method of getting out without being spotted and a great hiding spot for hide and seek.
Just as Techno was about to get out, an unfamiliar hissing sounded out loudly in the background. Turning around, the entrance of their hiding spot had been blocked out by a mass amount of dynamite tied up together with a white label saying 'TNT'. Techno stared in horror and squirmed out of the exit quick as possible before their vision had gotten blurry and dark.
They found themselves now deep into the thick and dense forest with no sort of exit to this endless maze. They were cold, hungry and thirsty all at the same time, their mouths as dry as a desert. Everything had happened in a flash, from a peaceful family reunion with kids giggling and playing, adults chattering with one another to a massacre where everyone but the two brunettes had died. Their breath was cold and they were shivering intensely, their clothes were ripped as it had been three days after the incident, surviving on nothing but berries which were quite limited.
They held each other hands tightly, scared that if they were to let go, they would lose each other forever.
The sounds of their footsteps were softened by the thick white snow beneath them. "Techno, I'm tired." Wilbur whined while Techno rolled his eyes and let out a big sigh.
He scanned their surroundings like a hawk, wary of what was arouund them but it was nothing but spruce trees sprinkled with snow all over them. They came to the conclusion of sleeping at a tree surrounded by bushes so if anything were to come at them, they would be able to hear the rustling of the bushes and have some time to run before getting brutally murdered by whatever is out there. They rested their heads on the rough trunk of the tree, huddling together as it was their only source of warmth. While Wilbur soon fell asleep, Techno's eyes were wide open. There was no soothing voice to calm the voices in his head, something which he hadn't dealt with for a couple months now.
He remember when the voices had first controlled his brain. Everything around him was crimson red as they demanded for blood.
He eyed an animal, a cow, peacefully sleeping underneath the oak trees.
While Wilbur was admiring the clouds he had then noticed Techno had disappeared from his sight. Looking left and right, he saw his brother ripping apart the cow into shreds.
His hands were covered in nothing but blood, not only that, his shirt had also been soaked with blood as he continued his vicious attack on an innocent animal.
Wilbur stared at him, terrified of what his own twin had done.
Wilbur ran over to him and quickly pulled him away before he could further damage the poor cow.
From what was once a peaceful cow became a bloody mess.
It's blood was splattered all over the surrounding trees as the voices were finally satisfied.
He quickly snapped back to reality and saw a worried and concerned Wilbur rather than a terrified and disgusted one.
"Please don't tell anyone."
Techno begged, scared they might throw him out of the house. Who would want a monster living with them after all?
Wilbur thought deeply and nodded, smiling back at his brother completely covered in blood.
"Just sleep already!" "Techno sleep." "E"
Techno groaned, the fact that they were practically begging him to sleep did not help at all, it kept him up until he had finally gotten tired of it and soon fell asleep, resting his head on Wilbur's.
"Kill" "Kill" "Kill"
Techno unwillingly opened his eyes to be greeted by nothing but the dark black void. He looked down, it was the same pitch black colour like everything else in the room.
Suddenly, words written in red popped up left and right.
"Kill" "Blood for the blood god" "Blood"
Curled up into a ball, he wanted to cry but couldn't.
To him, the void was a endless fall down into hell, worse than it actually. It was dark, cold and if you were to scream or cry or even plead for help, no one would be able to hear your cries.
It felt as if all sound was completely blocked out and no one was ever going to save you once you have fallen in.
Upsetting thoughts floated around his head until the sounds of something similar to an alarm clock stopped his dream or dare he say nightmare.
"Techno! Wake up!" Wilbur begged as he shook Techno in an attempt to wake him up. Techno groaned in annoyance and murmured an insult towards Wilbur which could barely be heard.
"Techno get up!" "BRUH WAKE UP" "Technodead"
Great, now he had to deal with two annoying things at the same time, how was he going to get sleep?
"We need to get out of here, there's something here." The panic in his voice rose and immediately shot Techno's eyes open.
He look around to see nothing but Wilbur.
"Are you sure your not just... hallucinating?" Techno teased.
"Of course not! Your just a fucking idiot." Wilbur said back with no hesitation though, seeing Techno awake made him much safer.
Wilbur proceeded to look up and noticed a human like figure soaring through the sky was glorious and huge wings. It zoomed past the moon and disappeared in a few seconds.
The figure had been flying over them for the past three days, it never did anything, it just flew past them.
Just to be safe, Techno had patted around his pocket making sure that he still had his glass shard he had picked up.
Out of the blue, the sounds of bushes rustling could be heard.
Wilbur quickly hid behind Techno, still holding his hand,
A shadow of a human casted over them, was someone finally here they end this hell of a place? They looked up to see the exact opposite of what they had hoped for.
A human like figure had emerged from the bushes though it did not seem human.
It had a sickening green tone, a disgusting smell emitting from it and it's lifeless gray eyes staring directly into their souls.
Techno quickly realized that it was no human but a zombie. It limped towards them slowly, giving them the time to run.
However, they stood still like statues.
Techno gripped onto his brother's hand tightly, preparing to attack it when someone suddenly a man fell from the sky, a scabbard at his back occupied by a diamond sword, emitting an odd but beautiful purple glow in the dark giving them a light source.
He raised the sword and sliced the head of the zombie. The sword had left a clean cut and was now dripping with blood whilst the zombie's head fell onto the floor.
Wilbur looked in disgust at the fallen head, wanting to vomit at the sight of it. Techno was no different.
"What are you two boys doing out this late?" The odd man asked, removing the hood over his head to reveal a odd bucket hat with white and green stripes patterned all over the hat. It had casted a shadow over his face but his eyes were still visible.
His eyes were as blue as the ocean, shining brightly like a diamond in a dark, dark cave. It was assisted with a warm smile from the man, making it known that he was friendly and would not hurt them despite their incident with strangers.
"Our family was killed." Techno mumbled. He found it odd to be telling something so personal to a man he did not know for even one day.
A look of pity formed on his face and his smile was shaped to form a frown instead.
"How long have you been here mate?" "Three days." The man's eyes widened in horror, two kids which were barely over the age of ten out in the wilderness all by themselves? How did they even manage to survive?
He removed the bag which had hung on one of his shoulder's and opened it, searching for something.
The man took out two pieces of warm pastries and handed it over to them.
They both snatched it and quickly ate it to satisfy their hunger.
"It must be pretty cold out here, come, I can get you some shelter and provide you with whatever you need. You can even stay for a bit if you want." He said with a warm smile.
The twins looked at each other before looking at the man.
Without even discussing, they nodded, desperate to get a home even if it was just for one day.
"Alright but before we go, can I know your names?"
Chapter Text
"Wake up! Wake up!" The annoying screams were like a replica of an alarm clock. Phil groaned, covering his face using his hands. Beams of sunlight shone through the windows, being blocked by a bird like shape.
Crows were perched on the window frame, repeatedly calling out until he got up. Phil sighed and unwillingly dragged himself out of bed. He never understood why these crows wanted him awake so early in the morning but it didn't matter, as long as these things shut up he would be fine.
Phil quickly got ready for the day, making himself a cup of coffee in order to be energized and awake for the next couple of hours.
He picked up his bag which hung on his chair along with his cloak which was hanging on the cloak hanger. As he stood outside he took one deep breath and listen to the sounds of crow hover above his home. Phil regularly went outside whether if it was to venture out or buy goods from a nearby village.
Inside his bag was a small pouch, filled with stacks of gems used to buy items. Overall, life was pretty decent on earth. Rarely ran out of materials and if he did he could easily go out and find more of the items he had ran out of or required. His long brown cloak drooped over his shoulders, shielding his black wings from the world so no one would ever see them. He wore a hood over his head and green and white striped bucket hat. casting a shadow over his face. "Hey chat, where was I going again?" Phil said out loud as a crowd of crow swooped down and began swarming around him. Multiple answers spewed out of their beaks. Some were helpful while others weren't as helpful, repeating stuff such as "dadza" for no exact reason.
Phil nodded and had a quick head start, quickly running before taking off into the sky. Today was no different from any other days, he just had to get some materials and continue his unfinished structures hidden in places no one would suspect it would be at.
For the rest of the day, he was occupied with building and constructing huge structures and decided to end off the day by getting more food.
"Alright chat, going to end the day off by buying some goodies. Don't want to see any of you crowding around me or the village is going to wonder why there has been an increase of crows by their village." All the crows listened to his instructions and quickly flew off back home, the last thing he heard being goodbyes.
Phil chuckled and placed his hood over his head once again before flying over to the village. He quickly landed somewhere in the forest before running towards the village. He was not a big fan of anyone realizing he had wings, if they did he would either come back home without wings or blood all over him the blood being the more likely end result. He studied the area, kids freely running about the more lit up area before being yelled at by adults to head back in. The sun was quickly setting and parents didn't want the last thing they see to be the corpse of their once alive kids.
Knowing how he did not have much time before all the stores had closed, he chose the nearest store which was the bakery.
He pushed the door open, walking up to the counter to be greeted by a woman who seemed to be occupied by something else. Phil gently tapped the counter, hoping to grab the woman's attention.
"Oh! You scared me for a second Mr. Minecraft." Phil chuckled and removed the hood over his head. "So, what would you like to buy?" She asked. Phil tapped his chin and looked at the display counter, examining the vast amount of pastries. "Can I have ten of these?" Phil pointed at the pastries and she nodded, taking them out and handing them over to him.
"Five gold please." Phil looked back at her with a surprised look on his face, midway taking his bag off his shoulders to find his pouch. "Didn't it cost more last time?" Phil questioned as he placed the exact amount of emeralds on the counter. "Yeah but seeing that you have helped out this village before it'd be best if I decreased the price a bit. After all, you did save a couple of lives before." She smiled, collecting the emeralds she had earned for today. "Nah mate, I still think it'd be best if I paid the same amount of emeralds like everyone else." Their conversation had soon ended with goodbyes as Phil turned around with the pastries in his bag, preparing to leave the bakery.
"Mum, Ranboo's asleep." A small girl said in a soft tone but loud enough to catch Phil's attention before he had left. "Thank you Niki." The woman smiled back at her child. She had blonde hair along with beautiful baby blue eyes, just like her mother's. However, the fact that she had a child wasn't the thing which had distracted him, it was the odd name the child's sibling had. Despite that, he brushed it off and proceeded to exit the store and wore his hood.
Outside, two guards stood, arms crossed and deep into their own conversation to notice Phil eavesdropping on them.
"Stupid mobs, making us stay up this late. Really wish that so called Angel of Death got rid of them but no." One said in an annoyed tone while the other nodded in agreement. Phil rolled his eyes and sighed before putting on his hood, running off into the woods. The last thing he had heard was the sounds of guards calling out for him and footsteps chasing after him. Luckily, Phil had already went deep enough such that the guards were not able to follow him.
There was a rule applied that guards are not allowed to go too deep into the woods or the chances of them dying may increase as the appearance of a human can cause more mobs to emerge and attack them. Even if there was a thief, the best they could do was shoot them down or let the mobs do the work. Once the coast was clear, Phil quickly took off, hovering slightly above the trees so mobs were unable to get him.
He still despised the fact that people continued to talk about him despite it happening years ago.
Phil was known as the Angel of Death. Before he had first reached Earth, he could not help but pity them. Mobs originally spawned in the day and more often in the night. No matter how well lit up an area was, they still spawned in left and right whether or not someone was there or not. He watched the death of many and the vast amount of people grieving over the death of one due to a mob. After so long he had finally made the choice to go to Earth to stop their pain and suffering and end it once and for all. He was told by the gods that if he wanted to stay in Earth longer than he intended to, he might have serious wounds and injuries. Despite their warnings, he shrugged it off and ignored it until he finally got rid of one of the strongest mobs many people feared, the Ender Dragon. Before he had killed it, people gave him armor, weapons, tools just so he could defeat it and admired the glorious wings he was created with. Despite his pleads and reassurances about how it was unnecessary it was, he ended up accepting their gifts. Phil was given a free home to stay at and food he could feast on. In return, every night he would make sure the village he once lived in was safe and built walls around them so no mobs would spawn it. Despite their abilities to spawn in when a player is nearby, they were unable to appear too near them so every night guards would be near the walls, ensuring that nothing makes it past the walls or them. Once Phil was satisfied, he finally made the great sacrifice to slay the Ender Dragon. Though immortal, it does not mean that he could not be injured and feel pain. After he had slain the Ender Dragon, many people praised him, gifting him with flowers, food, drinks and even riches.
The next day was the day Phil dreaded to happen. He recalled the one thing the gods had told him before he went to Earth and despised the idea of not being able to experience what it was like to start from scratch as on the first day of his arrival he was showered with gifts. After making the final decision, he decided to stay on Earth, purposely forgetting the warnings the gods had given him. But despite that, the gods still gifted him a gift in his stay on Earth. To be specific however, it wasn't just any god but the Goddess of Death. The one disadvantage of living on Earth was how he rarely had access to see her, his lover. The last thing gifted to him was a mass amount of crows, giving him someone to talk to if he ever felt lonely. Thankful for the gift, he promised to keep them all safe as it was the only thing which reminded him of her. He built a cottage far, far away from the village so he could live alone with his crows, surrounded by trees and a huge pond close by. Finally, the Earth could finally be peaceful he thought. The next day, many people died.
Originally, he thought that once the Ender Dragon was gone, the Earth would not longer have to suffer but the only thing it did was cause mobs to spawn only in the night except for day. He was told by his crows how many people freely roamed around at night but was instead killed by huge waves of mobs. His heart sank hearing the news and he felt nothing but guilt. From that day onwards, wars happened left and right, searching for the one who caused the death of many people when he just wanted to help them. The village he lived in accepted him, continuing to give him gifts and console him even though he caused pain to people around the globe. They understood him while he was misunderstood by everyone else. He warned the village that if war ever broke out in their village they had to prepare. He trained everyone all night long until they seemed ready for when it finally struck them. Midnight, war broke out. The screams of terror and pain echoed throughout the night, houses bursting into flames and blood splattered all over the ground and walls. Phil used the blade he was given and killed many people but ended up killing more than he had intended to.
Phil only felt anger and grief for the village, he wiped out many troops of men but in the process killed his own people. In the morning, he was tired and exhausted, surrounded by the corpses of dead beings, he cried, yelling and cursing at the gods. From that day onward, he made sure no one would recognize him by hiding his wings. He felt ashamed about how he was gifted those wings but yet used it as an advantage to win a war being on neither sides. The only thing which kept him happy was the crows he was given, he would talk to it everyday and considered them as not just a pet but a friend instead.
Back to the current day, everyone forgot how he looked like, only being remembered by the black wings he was stuck with, patterned with white diamonds only at the edges of his wings and the many people who died by him.
As he continued hovering above the trees, he could not help but notice two figures in the woods. He shrugged it off thinking they were professionals and were taught how to survive but over time he got more worried and worried.
Phil quickly flew back to check up on them, now flying slightly above the trees and saw a zombie, inching closer to the two humans. He quickly realized that they were not adults, but children.
Worried, he dived into the woods such that he was out of sight but was still close enough to get the zombie before it attacked the two kids.
Pulling out the sword from the scabbard, he sliced the zombie's head right off, watching it roll onto the ground.
"What are you two boys doing out this late?" Phil questioned the two boys, examining them.
"Our family was killed." One said nonchalantly.
Phil was shocked by the boy's reply, how was he so open to sharing the news of his dead family? Phil frowned and felt nothing but pity for the two of them.
Continuing to examine the two of them, they both had the same brown hair and golden eyes. He thought their eyes were rather pretty, reminding him of the golden sun rising high up in the sky and the shiny gold ore hidden deep into the mines.
He stared at them in silence before quickly snapping back into reality, continuing interrogating the two of them.
"How long have you been here mate?" "Three days." Phil's eyes widened in horror, how the hell did two kids who look barely over the age ten survive in the woods for three days in the woods of a snow biome? Hell, it was even a gigantic forest which seemed to stretch out from miles.
Phil quickly removed his bag which hung on his shoulder and foraged it, taking two pieces of pastries he bought from the bakery not too long ago. Luckily, they were still warm. He watched as the two of the boys quickly gobble it down, wondering who would be cruel enough to ruin an entire family.
"It must be pretty cold out here, come, I can get you some shelter and provide you with whatever you need. You can even stay for a bit if you want." Phil smiled warmly at them, trying to act as friendly as possible such that they would not think he was going to hurt them.
The two twins looked at each other, nodding to each other and doing the same for Phil.
"Alright but before we go, can I know your names?"
"My name is Wilbur and he's Techno. We're twins." Wilbur spoke for Techno. Phil finally understood the reason behind their appearances of how they both looked the exact same. The only difference was their voices, remembering that Techno was to first to speak up and comparing it to Wilbur's. Techno's voice was slightly deeper than Wilbur's while Wilbur's was higher.
"Techno? Is his name really Techno?" Another odd name he came across today. He did not know if the name Ranboo was weirder or if Techno was but mainly wondering why a parent would give their child such names.
"Yup! But what is your name mister?" Wilbur repeated his question. "Oh, my name is Philza." Phil said with caution, scared they might have recognized it. Despite his popularity amongst people, he was unsure if they knew his names and if he had ever told it to anyone before. He only knew that the bakery owner called him 'Mr.Minecraft' and never by his actual name. Could he have told her his last name only?
"Your name is funny!" Wilbur giggled while Techno smiled at his brother.
Phil also smiled while kicking away the head of the zombie out of sight. He was surprised no mobs had interrupted them but he had clearly jinxed it as an arrow almost shot his hat but instead shot the tree Techno and Wilbur stood under.
"Oh no, you two I'm going to do something risky, hang on tight." Phil said, giving them no time to talk before swooping them up and flying into the sky just as the same skeleton shot the same tree.
"Heh? You have wings?" Techno could not help but stare at the wings which had been originally hidden by the cloak.
"God damn it."

can't believe philza minecraft said bad stuff infront of the kids
Chapter 3: home home
Chapter Text
As they glided across the forest, Phil could not help but notice the silence between all of them. Normally he assumed that most kids were boisterous and noisy and if this situation were to ever happen to them, he'd imagine they would be kicking and crying constantly. Wilbur and Techno on the other hand were just having their own little argument. Quiet whispers could be heard transferring to the other and once received, an insult would be shot back as the other chuckled and teased their brother. Phil grinned throughout the entire flight back home, though if he were not cautious he could drop one of them and that was not something he would like to see today.
As the sun began to rise, Phil squinted his eyes, trying to get as much sunlight out of his eyes. He couldn't move his arms as he might risk killing a child even though it wasn't the first time he has done it. Finally, after a couple minutes of insults being thrown left and right every few couple of seconds, they had reached their destination.
A small cottage in the middle of the forest, surrounded by nothing but trees. A couple of torches were placed on the trunks of each trees so mobs wouldn't spawn nearby. A path from his lovely cottage led to a pond, not much animals there but it was quite peaceful and relaxing, perfect place if you want peace and serenity. The path wasn't made out of stones or such, instead of having to do extra work he decided to cut down a couple of trees which blocked the way, after all he didn't just make his cottage at the snap of a finger.
Crows could be seen hovering above his home, cawing non stop to grab his attention but to no avail. Phil glided down with caution, not wanting anyone to be injured especially Wilbur and Techno. Not even a day and he seemed attached to them, being unable to live in a society full of lively and friendly people wasn't very fun. As peaceful and quiet it was at his home, he barely socialized with a lot of people due to his wings and rumors of how he still lived on Earth, shielding himself from everyone in the world who were against him.
He felt like his arms were about to break, having to carry two kids whilst fearing that he might drop one was the most terrifying experience he had... Or he was just exaggerating. "Woah! Did you build this by yourself?" Wilbur said in astonishment as he looked up at the cottage.
"Yeah." Was all Phil could say before Wilbur began roaming around the area, followed by Techno. The two of them seemed pretty close, after all their family did get slaughtered in which they were the only survivors, they must have been rattled after that experience. They held each other hands tightly, Wilbur mainly leading the way to the pond while Techno was getting dragged along with him.
Phil sighed and searched his bag to pull out a golden key, engraved with emeralds and small details written on it. Putting a key which seems pretty expensive into a bag or pocket which anyone could easily pickpocket or steal from was not the brightest idea. Luckily, Phil isn't just an immortal god who would struck someone with lightning the moment they feel their in danger, he would simply turn around, grab them, and throw them somewhere else whilst grabbing the stolen key as they get thrown backwards. Why kill someone the moment you sense they are taking something from you? Hell it could have been a starving child foraging for food and they get a scolding and punishment in return.
Back to the key, the little writings on his key was a dialect no ordinary human would understand. It would require them to study for hours and memorize each letter carefully. These writings had also popped up in enchantment tables, magical tables which could enchant your tools, weapons and armors to make them stronger. Some allowed people to breathe underwater for a longer period of time, they were very helpful for those who normally explored the sea. However, due to these unknown and mysterious writings, people would usually get the most expensive enchants without knowing what good it does. It could either be what they want or the exact opposite of what they wanted, who knows. These enchantment tables also required a ore deep into the mines, lapis. Lapis was the most important item needed if one had a desire to use the enchantment table in order to be stronger but without the required ore, they would be unable to gain access to it.
Phil unlocked the door and twisted the knob, revealing a completely dark room with no lights on but the sunlight which shone through the window, slightly lighting up the room such that you could still see. Little dust particles could be seen floating about in the air under the sunlight. Phil flicked on a light switched, burning his eyes as the sudden appearance of light popped up out of no where. He was used to it since he normally went out and it was no surprise when the blinding lights turned on at 3 am before flopped onto his bed, falling asleep.
Phil turned around, trying to figure out where the two boys had went off to explore. They were running around the house, playing a game of tag. Techno outrunning Wilbur while Wilbur stretched his arm out as far as he could to grab Techno. "Techno, Wilbur, come here." Phil instructed while trying not to sound stern. Techno quickly stopped, moving to the side to have Wilbur tripping and falling.
"Hey!" Wilbur yelled as Techno chuckled, pulling him up. They entered the cottage and it seemed to be like an ordinary home. Though it was slightly smaller than their old home, they didn't mind. Techno couldn't blame Phil for the cottage being like that, he could tell he lived alone as there was no sign of anyone else and they were quite deep into the woods. Wilbur eyes immediately moved towards to the comfy sofa, running over to it and climbing onto it.
Phil couldn't help but smile seeing how content they were with the home already. "I wasn't really expecting to find you guys so I don't have a room prepared. You guys can sleep in my room and if you need help I'll be sleeping in the living room alright mate?" Techno and Wilbur nodded, Phil grateful that they were attentive and actually listened without having to debate with them. After all, why would they? They get an entire bed all for themselves while Phil was forced to sleep in the living room unwillingly, kicked out of his own room.
"God I'm going to have to spend some of my emeralds and golds for them." He murmured to himself. As stated before, the finding of the two kids was unexpected so he had not planned out anything. Plus, he never expected anyone to be out in the woods by themselves.
"Guys, can you promise me something?" Phil asked which stopped all current activity ongoing.
"I'm going to go buy some things and I don't want any of you leaving the house. I'll be back soon alright mate? If your hungry there's some food in the kitchen." Phil said just before he left the house, leaving Wilbur and Techno to do anything they want while waiting for him to return from his journey to the village.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil reached the same village he had flew to a couple hours ago, doing the usual method of hiding his wings by going a certain distance into the wood so the walk to the village would be short.
"Just out of curiosity but, why are you buying kid's sized clothes?" The shopkeeper asked. Most people in the village knew him by now and throughout his many visits he had never mentioned a child or showed any signs of having one. Expecting this, Phil quickly thought of an excuse. "This is just for a friend, they have a kid and I thought I'd be nice if I bought them more clothes." Phil explained as he placed the golds on the table.
"Ah I see, have a great day Mr.Minecraft. Oh! And I forgot to give you this letter." Pulling out a letter from underneath the desk.
"A letter? From who exactly?" Phil asked, staring at the letter which had no name written on it, allowing the writer of the letter to stay anonymous.
"I'm not too sure, they only left a note telling me to hand it to ya." She explained, also clueless on the situation.
"It's fine, have a great day mate." Phil waved goodbye as he finally left the store, letter in hand, hood over his head and all the newly bought items placed into his bag.
The same two guards previously stood outside, arms crossed once again. "Still can't believe you let the man get away." "As if it was my fault." The two childish guards argued as Phil sneakily attempted to escape into the woods but was caught once again.
"Hey!" The guard yelled, pointing his diamond sword at him.
"Not this again."

As Techno and Wilbur waited, they began to wonder if it truly was the pinnacle of dullness. Feeling spiritless, they began to wonder what could alleviate their boredom after running out of activities they could do to keep their spirits up.
"Hey Techno, are you bored?" Wilbur asked his half-asleep brother.
Due to the lack of energy, Techno only slightly nodded, wanting to fall asleep.
"Hey, we haven't explored the house yet, want to follow me?" Wilbur questioned but it was as if he was talking to a blank wall as Techno had already fallen asleep on the sofa.
"Guess I'll go exploring myself, your boring." Wilbur chirped, excited to discover things before his brother did. After all, it was much more fun than watching paint dry.
He hopped off the sofa and began checking each room, luckily tall enough to be able to reach the doorknob or he'd be trapped in the living room with his sleeping brother.
The door creaked loudly, letting out a ear-piercing screech, almost waking Techno up. Wilbur groaned, he despised the noise despite hearing it so many times throughout his life. He walked into the room and was greeted by chests, piling up on one another. Inside each chest was different but yet the same, they were replicas of whatever item was in the assigned chest. There was a sign labelled on each box such that it would be easy to know what chest had what though, Wilbur did not know what some of the items were.
Once Wilbur was done, he quietly closed the door to see the next room. The door to the next room had already been opened by Phil so he was grateful that the terrible high-pitch noise wouldn't come back. It was an empty room, nothing but a single window which which practically the only source of light in the room. Spider webs hung on the corners of the room, dangling freely. The walls were coated with navy blue paint while the floor was carpeted.
Unsatisfied so far with the lack of interesting things, he decided to search upstairs, guessing that it was where Phil's bedroom was.
Wilbur walked to the top floor, opening the final door to reveal a comfy bedroom. A bed was placed beside the window where the sun was able to shine on their face, greeting them with nothing but a blinding bright light. Looking around, it seemed like every ordinary bedroom, not too special from the rest but it seemed like a comfy place. Wilbur closed the door, walking down the stairs to see his now awake brother.
"Hey Techno!" Wilbur exclaimed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Look mate, I'm not here to cause trouble or such. I just want to buy some stuff, that's all." Phil explained to the two clueless guards who continued to deny his statements. "Please, why else would you wear a hood over your head along with a cloak? You could easily hide your appearance." The guard claimed.
Phil sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and proceeded to remove the hood off his head. "Now can I go now you've seen my face?" Phil asked.
"T-That's not the main point, the main point is that we've suspected that you might have stolen something. With such clothing you look extremely suspicious." The guard stammered, making Phil slowly loser hope in the two of them.
"Mate that is a completely stupid reason, I don't want to start a fight or it could get bloody, just warning ya." Phil bluntly said.
"Is this a threat?" A guard yelled as Phil stared at him, completely unfazed.
"Nah, just a warning and a reminder than what you're doing is stupid and I have people at my house probably wondering where I've been after I had wasted my time with a stupid accusation of me stealing by two so called professional guards." Phil said, irritated by the guards as he glanced at the sky.
They stood speechless at the response, probably thinking due to their 'high rank' and 'bravery' for protecting the village would earn them the respect they deserve. But Phil was not in the mood after realizing he hasn't slept when he first found Techno and Wilbur.
"I will be on my way." Phil smirked before walking off into the woods. Out of curiosity and stupidity, the two guys thought it would be best if they followed him, going beyond the village zone.
"Won't the two just give me a break, their like children following their parents even when instructed not to."
Phil had no choice but to drop the cloak off and fly away. If they saw the cloak on the floor, they might have thought that Phil ran off somewhere else, leaving the cloak to throw them off.
He finally reached home, feeling spiritless after the annoying interaction with the guards who were probably now lost in the forest unable to get back.
Pushing the door open, he was glad to be seeing two well behaved children, cheerfully talking to each other on the sofa.
"Were you guys talking the entire day?" He asked, curious and impressed if they had actually done that.
"Nope! I went exploring around the house." Wilbur smiled.
"Well, there isn't really much to explore but glad that was able to keep you guys occupied. I'll be preparing your room so please don't cause a ruckus while I'm busy." He told the boys, walking into the empty room which Wilbur had previously explored and shutting the door behind him.
"Hey Techno..." Wilbur whispered sinisterly, holding up a pillow from the sofa preparing to smack him in the face. Raising it high up, he smacked Techno's head lightly. Techno slowly turned his head, scaring the crap out of Wilbur as Techno's eyes had flashed red just for a split second. As much as Techno wanted to resist the temptation of completely destroying his innocent brother in a war of pillow fight, he gave in and picked up a pillow. The two boys jumped around the sofa, going up and down over and over again, chasing one another.
A loud thud could be heard from just outside the empty room as the sounds of boisterous children filled the air. Phil sighed and attempted ignored the loud sound which had happened for a split second. Finally finishing his task, he walked out the room to see two boys chasing each other around the sofa, Wilbur hopping over the couch in an attempt to escape from the grasp of his twin brother. Expecting to land flawlessly on the soft sofa, he tumbled over and landed face first onto the floor.
"Wilbur!" Phil yelled, rushing towards him to help him up. Tears could be seen forming in his eyes, glistening brightly. Phil had noticed the blood trickling down his nose and sighed. Techno watched as Phil stood up to grab a piece of tissue, worried and guilty that he could have been the reason for his brother's injury.
Once that had been dealt with, Wilbur was forced to keep a tissue in his nose and to only remove it if the tissue soaked up too much blood. As much as he despised it, he didn't want to ruin the flooring of Phil's home. As the two boys tip-toed trying to see what was in the room, the door had not even been open yet. Creating a suspense, Phil finally broke it by pushing open the door, moving to the side so they could see it from a distance.
"Alright, follow me." Phil smirked, a once empty and dusty room had turned into a fully furnished and clean room.
Two beds were placed on each side of the room, a window being in the center of them and a drawer in between their beds. On the left side of the room was presumed to be Techno's side, right beside his bed was a wardrobe filled with their clothes along with a bookshelf filled with a large variety of books. However, they weren't the type of books you'd expect in a room for kids, the books were thick and filled with many pages.
On the right side of the room was Wilbur's side, there was an exact replica of the wardrobe on Techno's side except this time there was a guitar rack right next to it with one single guitar placed inside of it. Phil thought that it might be a good idea to placed it there such that he would have more space to store all his relics from exploring temples.
There was also one desk along with a chair, it gave them an area for them to draw or write whatever that wanted so they wouldn't have to write on the floor.
"You two can rest here for now, I have something important to do." Phil mentioned, remembering the letter he was given.
He closed the door and searched his pockets for the letter. To no surprise it was crumbled up, after all he was in a hurry since he was getting chased by two guards, struggling to catch up and stumbling about.
Phil stood there, wide-eyed at the letter he had just read. He reread the letter multiple times make sure his eyes were fixed and working well.
Dear Mr Minecraft,
I've heard many things about you from having what seems to be a vast amount of supplies to keeping villages safe and visiting occasionally. I know the materials you have are quite rare and exquisite, not many dare venture through the Nether just to achieve their goal of a blaze rod or so. Seeing that you are a brave and strong soul, I would like to make a deal with you. Many people know and fear the one called the Blood God. We have found out that it is no mere rumor but a fact. That being is still roaming the world, most likely going on a rampage and many lives could be at stake. A couple of hunters had found a brutally ripped up cow near the end of the forest, it was a complete mess. It was unlikely that a wolf had attacked at since they normally targeted sheeps. Another thing to note is how powerful they are which I'm quite sure you know by now. If it was possible, I would greatly appreciate it if you were able to help get rid of them. What is the advantage of doing so? You can save the whole world. Everyone would praise you, shower you with gifts. I hope you have read through this and made your choice.
Yours sincerely
:)
What mad man thought that Phil would be able to simply get rid of the one named the Blood God? Phil's face was drained of colour, knowing that there is some vicious human being killing innocent beings left and right. Hell, maybe anything that crosses it path, monster, human, animal, they would most likely all be dead the moment it crosses path with the beast. At that point, monsters probably weren't the real monster here, whoever had it was more of a monster than those disgusting undead mutated creatures.
"They didn't even tell me where it was, it could be near my house and I wouldn't even know. Damn it."
Phil was mainly concerned for the two of the boys. They were still quite young so having that beast out in the woods could have killed them if they stayed longer.
It was finally nightfall again, the time where monsters rose and prepared to strike on any clueless beings out there. Techno and Wilbur were finally able to sleep peacefully after that one horrible experience of being out in the wild. They slept soundly, both facing the opposite sides of where the other was facing. Phil flopped onto his bed, exhausted after a tiring day, immediately drifting off to sleep.
Whilst Wilbur was able to get the rest he needed, Techno on the other hand was dealing with a different situation. Still conscious, eyes closed, struggling to sleep. Turning left and right, he had a throbbing headache for no specific reason.
"Don't trust Phil" "Kill" "Blood for the Blood God" "Do it"
Techno groaned, the voices desire for blood grew louder and louder. He just wanted to sleep, sure he had slept earlier but it was just a short nap, nothing else.
Techno unwillingly got out off bed, he dreaded the idea of having to attack a man who had saved him but the voices thought the opposite. His vision turning a crimson red, Techno opened the door to be greeted by the pitch black room. Thanks to this little 'feature', he was able to see in the dark. It was as if he had his own personal night vision googles. Looking at the right side of where he stood was a door. Quickly assuming it was Phil's room, he opened the door but was found to be incorrect. Scanning the room he figured it had been the storage room Wilbur mentioned. The only other room was the room on the second floor, Phil's room. Loud footsteps could be heard walking up the stairs from downstairs. As Techno finally approached the door, he grabbed onto the doorknob. The voices grew louder like a kid throwing a tantrum over not being able to buy candy, demanding blood.
"Techno?"
A hand was placed on his shoulder. It had almost made him jump, causing him to turn around quickly and pushing the unknown person.
"Techno what the fuck?" The fear in the man's voice quickly transitioned to anger, the last word said in a more rash and aggressive tone than the first word which had been soft and gentle.
Techno's fuzzy vision switched back to normal, his brother. Wilbur sat on the floor, back propped on the railings.
"Wilbur I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, I can't control-" "No, shut up." Techno's sentence was quickly cut off by Wilbur's harsh reply back.
"Techno for FUCK sake, if you can't control it then LEARN to control it, I can't always be there to what? Solve your own fucking personal problem with those stupid voices. I'm not the one dealing with it, you are. So fucking grow up and just learn to take care of yourself, your scaring me." His tone quieten down at the last sentence, it was so quiet that it was as if he had never said anything.
Techno's eyes twinkled as tears began welling up in his eyes, Wilbur noticing it, sighed and hugged his brother once more before escorting him back to their room.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you can be stronger than the voices one day."
Chapter 4: a new member
Chapter Text
"Hey Phil, Phil, Phil." Wilbur called out repeatedly, awaiting a reply from the sleeping man.
"Oh my god Wilbur let me sleep." Phil groaned, covering his face with his hands.
"What's the thingy on the rack?" Wilbur asked, ignoring his request.
"That's a guitar mate, it plays music." "Really? I've never seen one before." Wilbur rubbed his chin, unsure if Phil was being truthful to him. "Yes it's real now can I sleep?" Phil asked once more, hoping to get the reply he expected. "Okay... but you have to teach me how to play the guitar! I want to help out Techno." Wilbur smiled before climbing off the bed and running away. "I didn't even get to... ugh nevermind." Phil turned to the wall and began drifting off to sleep again.
It was day time, who knew the first day of sleeping in a new welcoming home would be terrible already. Dark circles could be seen under Techno's eyes due to the lack of sleep that night. Tossing and turning left and right helplessly whilst his brother watched. Wilbur was not expecting such a quick appearance of the voices once again. They were always there however, it was normally easy to ignore. He never understood why these voices needed blood, who even likes the sight of blood splattered everywhere. On the floor, the walls, the ceilings, just everywhere.
Techno was in his room, skimming through the books with hundreds and hundreds of pages. He was determined that he would be able to learn what all the words meant even though he was only seven years old. There were a lot of big words, too big for him to understand or even read out with his mouth.
He sighed and slammed the book shut, placing back the heavy book in it's original position. The door creaked behind him, making him jump but to only find out that it was his brother entering the room with a cheerful look on his face.
"You seem happy, something good happened already?" Techno asked after carefully and slowly constructing his sentence so he would not sound too rude towards his brother.
"Yup! Phil's going to teach me how to play that guitar over there." Wilbur gleefully pointed at the guitar, sitting in the exact same position from when it had first been placed.
"Why would you want to learn how to play the guitar?" Techno raised an eyebrow as he proceeded to pick out another book from the shelf, quickly flipping through the book to see it's content in hopes of finding something which would catch his interest.
"So I can help you?" Wilbur said in a way as if the answer had been obvious.
"You already have your annoying voice, why an instrument?" Techno teased, continuing his routine of looking through every book.
"You're the annoying one, jerk." Wilbur imitated with an odd voice but Techno turned a deaf ear to his mockery.
Phil exited the room, ready for a brand new day. He knew Techno and Wilbur were a big impact to his usual routine so he was rather glad knowing how had something else to do.
Though he was not too glad to see Techno carrying Wilbur so they could reach the top shelf and grab a piece of candy. "Woah mate, get down from there!" Phil demanded as he watched chaos erupt in front of his eyes. Techno lost his balance and began reversing back to the wall as Wilbur held on to Techno's head, fearing for his life and blinding his brother with his hands. Phil was quick enough to dive and catch them before they had gotten any serious injuries already.
It was only 11 am and the two boys had caused trouble. Phil chided the two boys but shortly erupted into laughter, he wasn't used to having to care for kids so the attempt as a fierce and stern person was impossible. "Look, just don't do that ever aga-" "Oh! Can we learn the guitar now?" Wilbur rudely interrupted. Phil sighed as crows could be heard cawing in the background, laughing at him.
"Stupid chat." He jokingly said, causing the crows to poorly act out a scenario of being betrayed by the one who had taken care of them.
"Chat?" "Oh, that's nothing." Phil had forgotten how two dumbfounded and clueless kids were standing right in front of him, one dazed by the flock of crows by their window which had quickly hidden behind the wall.
"Alright, I'll teach you how to play the guitar. Just finish your breakfast first alright?" Wilbur contentedly finished his breakfast instantly before he sprung off the chair to begin his lesson. Phil grinned and twisted the door knob, reaching out for the dusty old guitar and brushing the dust away from it. He went through the basic things about the guitar but could not help but notice the exhausted looking boy at the table, silently looking through a book which was unintelligible for him.
"Hey mate, you can go explore the forest if you want. Just don't go too far out alright?" Techno looked up and nodded happily, blithely leaving the home to take a deep breath outside. Finally alone, no one there to watch or judge his every movement, no voices. There were a couple of flowers surrounding the house. He found it odd on how they were all far apart from one another as if it was rare for them to be growing there. Techno decided to take a look at the huge lake Wilbur spotted while they were in the sky. Walking through the forest he was cautious with each step he took, despite it being day, the chances of mobs lurking behind the trees were high. The lake seemed quite deep, not as shallow as he expected it to be. Fishes could be seen swimming on the surface but there was nothing at the bottom, it was just an abyss of darkness.
Techno sat down, enjoying the peace and serenity of the area. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot throughout his body. He gasped and quickly closed his mouth, getting up as quick as possibly but still falling back. An arrow zoomed past him, leaving a small cut on his cheek.
"Holy shit." Techno whispered under his breath. Behind the bushes was a skeleton, despite the large distance between the two beings, it still managed to hit his arm.
Techno stumbled over but managed to get up before getting hit once more, he gripped onto his arm as blood oozed out from the cut. He breathed heavily as he escaped the skeleton but seeing that there was one in the forest there was definitely more awaiting his arrival. He rested his hand on the trunk of a tall, tall tree, trying to keep his balance.
"This is why I despise going outside." Techno mumbled under his breath as the blood continued to trickle down his arm.
Kill it. Kill it. Kill it. Kill it. Kill it.
Techno stopped on his tracks, standing upright as the sounds of crows chirped loudly in the air.
He shook it off and quickly ran back home, not wanting to get hurt even more to worry Wilbur or Phil.
"Alright now-"
"I'm home." Techno rudely announced sounding rather irritated, bruises on his knees, a small cut on his face, an arrow sticking out of his arm and extremely messy hair. "Oh my god... TECHNO." Wilbur sounding more angry than concern was no surprise to him.
Phil, being rich in all sort of materials, had already gotten a potion of healing.
"What's this?"
"It'll make you better."
"Sounds like a drug."
Techno chugged the potion before wiping his mouth clean with a tissue paper. "Hold still, I'm going to try taking out the arrow, don't squirm around too much." Phil sighed in frustration. Techno blankly stared at his arm, trying not to cry or show any emotions. He didn't want to burst into tears and worry Wilbur or Phil though, the monotone emotionless voice might have already concerned them since he had a literal arrow in his arm.
"I am just that good at survival Wilbur."
"You are not you prick." Wilbur wanted to flinch seeing the arrow which had pierced through his arm and stuck there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil ventured out to find an empty village. It was littered with dead bodies and zombies screeching as it burned to death.
He doubt that there were really any survivors left but was hoping to get some loot from the chests. As he went through each house, the only feeling he had was unsatisfaction. He couldn't really blame them since not many people had the courage to go mining as the spawn rate of mobs were much higher than on the surface.
Inspecting every house, he saw something he had not expect to find.
A kid was wrapped around in a blanket, curled up into a ball with his head buried into the blanket. Phil was shocked and surprised, it was saddening to know how Techno and Wilbur were not the only types of kids to have to lose their loved ones, especially an entire village.
"Hey, are you awake?" Phil gently placed his arm on the boy's shoulder, awaiting a response.
The boy shuffled away quickly, gripping onto the blanket tightly as he dug his face deeper into the blanket.
Phil processed and thought of how to approach the kid.
"Calm down mate, I won't hurt you." Phil said softly, comforting the boy.
He loosened his grip, blanket still freely hanging on his head.
"Can you tell me what happened here?" He asked, reusing the soft tone he used when he had first met Wilbur and Techno.
The boy seemed more timid and small compared to Techno and Wilbur, most likely younger than the two of them.
"Someone came here." The boy whimpered with a shaky voice.
"Do you know them?"
"No... I only heard people screaming."
Putting the pieces together, he recalled the mention of hunters searching from the one whom had been cursed. Must they have been that desperate that they would ransack and destroy an entire village?
Phil bit his lips, worried about what could come next.
"Come on, I'll bring you somewhere safer alright mate?" Phil reached out his hand, waiting for the boy to do the same.
He removed the blanket over his head to reveal a golden blonde hair and blue eyes matching Phil's.
"Hey Will do you think that the guys that pretty much ruined our entire family leaving us to venture into the wilderness and survive on our own were just orphans mad that they didn't have a family so out of spite and jealous they make people into one such that they can suffer and feel what they felt in a orphanage with no actual parents but the adults their stranded with until someone comes?"
"Technoblade what the fuck, what's your deal with orphans?"
Techno ignored his question just to spite him before continuing to admire the sword he held on to. After the short trip into the forest he was thankful that Phil had given him a skillfully made sword of carved oak. It made Techno start to wonder what else Phil could do, how long has he lived to the point he was able to learn and skillfully do all the things he's done today? Techno only really knew about how he slayed the ender dragon which was about it, not much detail was given since he didn't understand too much.
"You can't just be staring at that stupid sword the entire time Techno, Phil isn't home and I can't learn on how to play the guitar since yesterday you came home with blood gushing out of your arm and a cut on your cheek along side with bruises due to how careless you were out there." Wilbur chided as Techno rolled his eyes, placing the sword down.
"I had nothing else to do alright? You can't blame me." Wilbur held his finger up, about to respond but quickly lowered it not knowing what to reply back with.
"Exactly."
Repeated sounds of knocking could be heard from the door.
"Phil's back!" Wilbur exclaimed, grabbing Techno by the collar. "Hey don't suffocate me!" Techno yelled, grabbing his arm in an attempt to be free from his grasp.
Wilbur pulled open the door to see Phil, cradling a child in his arms.
"What the fuck-" "Will don't." Phil sighed and closed the door behind him. Techno and Wilbur felt nothing but confusion, what were the possibilities of him finding another kid?
"Meet your new brother, Tommy." Phil placed Tommy down, he seemed terrified seeing more new faces, unsure if they were a threat or not.
"He has the same gold hair as you! It's so pretty." Wilbur chirped looking at his new brother. Tommy had immediately already warmed up to Wilbur whilst Techno felt awkward not knowing how to handle kids younger than him or his brother.
"Already attached?" Techno chuckled.
"Your next Techno, you can't deny that he's cute." Wilbur said holding up the kid who proceeded to kick him in the face.
"HEY!"
"I take it back, I like him already." Techno smirked, looking at Tommy.
"So yeah that's how I got into this family."
"Really? I don't believe you big man."
"WHAT THE FUCK TUBBO ARE YOU SAYING I'M STUPID? WE ARE THE BEST OF FRIENDS! THE FRIENDS OF BEST! WE SHOULD ALWAYS TRUST EACH OTHER DICKHEAD!" Tommy spoke quickly that it was pretty much too unintelligible for anyone to understand.
"I mean... everything goes on too quickly doesn't it? Feels a bit off and wanky." Tubbo explained.
"Whatever you say Tubbo." Tommy glanced behind his shoulder to see Wilbur approaching the two of them.
"Phil said he and Techno are going to go explore or some shit so now I'm stuck having to babysit the two of you." Wilbur groaned as he sat down beside them.
"BABYSIT? WILBUR I AM CLEARLY A GROWN MAN, I'LL PROBABLY BE BIGGER THAN YOU AND TECHNO BY THE END OF THE YEAR AND THAT IS A FACT YOU STUPID BITCH!"
"Says the one who lied about his height." Wilbur added in causing Tubbo to burst into laughter. Tommy had the tendency to lie about his height just to seem bigger or better than everyone else but comparing his height to Tubbo who was one year older than him, there was no need for him to brag about a height he has not even achieved yet.
Tommy rolled his eyes and grumpily sat down next to Tubbo. Most people considered him to be clingy in which he'd reply back with an insult and accusation of Tubbo being the clingy one when it was the complete opposite situation.
"Hey Wilbur, you know the little voices Techno has?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Did Phil ever find out about it?"
Wilbur rubbed his chin, trying to remember what had happened in the past.
"Oh, I think I remember." Wilbur snapped his fingers but his expression had changed once he had placed his hand down. He seemed traumatized and terrified, as if something horrendous had happened to him, sticking to his mind until today.
Wilbur pushed his glasses up and opened his mouth to speak.
"Hey Techno! You should be the knight." Wilbur insisted Techno who did not seem to agree with his statement.
"No thanks, I don't want to be the hero. Tommy can be it." Once those words were heard, he excitedly got up and scurried over to Techno's side.
"Can I use your sword?" Tommy pleaded only for Techno to turn him down.
"Why don't you want to be the hero? You can get all the good stuff at the end of the day! Plus considering that I'm the king in this situation, you can help guard me!" Wilbur began listing the hundreds of pros of being the hero in this situation but was still unable to encourage Techno to be the hero.
"Since I listed a bunch of reasons you should be the hero, why don't you tell me all the cons of being one." Wilbur challenged Techno.
"Well, not all heroes are able to achieve their fantasy and dream of a happy ending. One day you could save the village where everyone would love you and the next day you could be hated and backstabbed by everyone else. If you were the hero, they would all depend on you, it would be as if there were not point of having guards if you already have a knight in shining armor to protect and save everyone with no assistance, it's stupid. If everyone was dependent on you, what if one day you were unable to save them? They would hate you. And since you were the strong muscular hero, would anyone else even bother to train to defend themselves? All they would think about is their brave strong hero about to protect and save their village from all the threats around it. Instead of dying and being showered with gifts, love and flowers in honor of you, you would have died by being thrown into the woods to get eaten by wolves until there's nothing left. Not everything is like the fairytales we had in our books to make us believe that if we were the hero everyone would love us and no danger would ever come back. No way in hell can there be a village so perfect that danger would not come, by the end of the day, the hero would have hated his job due to the pressure he was given and scars from each fearsome battle. He could be a normal human being in the beginning where everyone would walk by him not giving a care in the world about them until he finally does a simple task to help his village once, then would he be showered with the love he begged and pleaded for years ago. It's just not fun being the hero when the outcome is what you expected over and over again, there would be not satisfaction of saving a village when you would just be given the same kind of treatment again. One mess up and people would despise you, one slip up and some may still love you, it's a split decision causing misunderstandings and cause the communication between people to shatter instantly all because of one normal human being who did a good deed many people could do as long as their good enough and are up to standards." Wilbur was left dumbfounded by the long speech Techno had given him. Sure, he was smart but how quickly he thought about this made him realize how much he had underestimated him.
Tommy on the other hand was clueless, not understanding anything which was spoken through their conversation. He was just simply amazed by the amount of dedication Techno had to such a simple discussion on the topic of heroes. Tommy always preferred Techno over Wilbur, looking up to him constantly and always following him around. Despite that, he still loved his brothers equally having someone to talk to. Though, Tommy was more fond of spending time with Wilbur as Techno seemed more mature and boring compared to Wilbur's energetic and talkative personality, something similar they had.
Bickering could easily be heard behind Phil's back of Wilbur and Tommy arguing and Techno laughing, sometimes it would have been Techno and Tommy and other times Techno and Wilbur which had happened less frequently compared to before Tommy had came.
"Well uh, sounds like your getting an A for English but Techno you could be the king instead!" Wilbur suggested which sounded like a much better and pleasant role to be. Sure, sometimes kings can be dicks, ruthless and cruel but there are some who are simply too good for the world.
They rushed out the rooms to gather their materials and accessories. A red cloak, cardboard, scissors and the wooden sword Phil had given Techno. Techno was wary of Tommy using his sword, sure he was the knight and all but he thought Wilbur would do a much better job at handling it. Techno had gained an interest in fighting but never had the guts to ask Phil to teach him since Wilbur had already occupied Phil's time with his guitar lessons.
"Techy! Techy!" Tommy called out his name. Techno turned around to see Tommy with his hands behind his back, hiding something from him. "Can you kneel down?" Tommy requested. Techno did as he said and kneeled down, curious on what was about to happen. Would it be some sort of trick? No, he's only five, what could he possibly think of?
Tommy surprised Techno with a cardboard crown, laying on his head. "I made it myself! No help from Wilbur over there who only tied your cape!" Tommy bragged while Wilbur shot a look back at Tommy, filled with anger.
Techno was too focused on the crown to notice the suspension between the two of them, he felt honored to have a crown made just for him. Sure, Tommy might have done the same for Wilbur but he couldn't help but smile at the simple act Tommy had done.
"Can we play now?" Wilbur groaned, crossing his arms in defeat after admitting that making a cardboard crown took more effort than tying a cape for someone.
Wilbur held out a cardboard sword, something he had made for himself to act as the villain of the story while Tommy held the same wooden sword Techno always carried around.
"I am going to attack your village!"
"Not on my watch!" Tommy yelled, raising his sword up and running to attack Wilbur.
Giggles and yelling could be heard from the two of them. Techno smirked and watched in the background, still examining the crown and putting it back on again.
"Get him!" "He could break your sword!" "Kill" "Bruhhh your just gonna watch? Do something interesting!" "Blood."
Techno covered his mouth, terrified of what he had just heard. He didn't want to ruin such a happy bonding moment between the two of them even if he wasn't included. He felt his breathe getting heavier and heavier, he sat on the chair, fidgeting uncomfortably.
"Hey! Pause bitch! This is unfair!"
“Tommy! Don't swear." Wilbur chided him.
"Well, you kept using these words so it isn't my fault." Tommy scoffed, turning away.
"Ok but I still need to take a piss Wilbur." Tommy said before running off, leaving a laughing Wilbur on the floor. The wooden sword had been dropped, it was the perfect opportunity.
Techno steadily got up, forcing himself to pick up his weapon.
"Hey Techno, you're a bit-"
Laying on the floor, a sword was pointed at Wilbur, sharp enough to injure someone but not too badly. Techno could already rip apart someone with just his bare hands so a sword was much more dangerous if it was in his possession, no matter how bad the quality of the sword was, he might find a use to it and still injure people. He had never learnt how to use a sword, mainly sitting on hills, high enough to see guards training with their iron blades.
"Techno stop it, what are you doing." A loud cry could be heard from as Phil hurriedly walked up the stairs. His heavy footsteps could be heard climbing up the stairs and dashing to the door. The lights had been switched off, making it easier for Techno to get his target as they would be unaware of their surroundings.
Wilbur he a cut, lucky enough to not be injured further as Techno snapped back to reality after his voices had yelled at him for targeting the wrong person. Techno was frustrated and mad, he wanted to scream at them not because they wanted to get Tommy but because they had accidentally made him injure Wilbur. He didn't feel remorse. more so on the angry side of the spectrum.
Wilbur was horrified, his brother had never hurt him before, jokingly or purposefully. His sniffled were hidden by the cries of Phil talking to himself. The red tint in his eyes was no longer a small red speck, moreover his entire eye was a deep crimson red color, one who seems desperate for blood, even if it means he has to get rid of someone he holds dearly.
Phil ran over to Wilbur, picking him up and bringing him out of the room, leaving Techno in the dark room with nothing but the sunlight slowly fading away.
Tommy exited the bathroom, oblivious to what had happened, he only saw a vibrant red cut on Wilbur's face, he seemed more terrified than in pain. Sure, it was a small cut but he seemed too scared.
"Tommy, come here. I need you to stay with Wilbur." Phil instructed before rushing off to find his 'son'.
The room was scattered with their toys and accessories, the cardboard crown knocked off of Techno's head when Wilbur was attempting to escape impending doom and the cloak which still levitated off the ground and clung on to Techno's shoulders, tightly tied up together.
Techno sprawled on the ground, barely awake or conscious enough to remember what had happened or who was around him. Phil was alert around him now knowing the secret he had kept from him from the first time they had met. Months of gaining each other's trust only for it to be broken by a simple cut on the face.
Phil took out a diamond sword, staring at it brought back memories of a bloodied and used sword for a war which had taken place years ago. His grasp on the sword handle tightened as he walked towards the boy.
He bit his lips, unsure if he was going to do the right thing or not. The boy seemed so innocent at first, where had it all gone to?
Phil reluctantly raised the sword, was this going to be the last time he saw Techno? He wouldn't even get the chance to say goodbye as Techno was not anywhere near conscious.
"Phil?"
"Will."
Wilbur stood at the door frame, he was enraged.
"Why are you trying to kill Techno?" Wilbur spoke loud and clearly, clear enough for Tommy to hear. Phil's heart sank when he heard those words, the bond between the two of them must have been strong, strong enough for Wilbur not to realize the truth.
"It's for your own good, I'm sorry Wilbur."
"No." Wilbur grabbed Phil's arms and pulled him, preventing him from getting anywhere near Techno.
"Wilbur, let go now." Phil said sternly but the boy's grasp on his arm had only tightened.
"I'm not letting you touch Techno." Wilbur gritted his teeth, attempting to fight back the tears which had already welled up in his eyes, preparing to release.
Words spewed out of his mouth to argue back, going against Phil's mission while Phil stood in silence, feeling nothing but guilt for what he had almost done. However, the feeling of anger was still within him, it could easily overtake it at any time and finish the job. But, he chose to listen, he chose to stay silent, he chose what he wanted to do.
"Wilbur do you realize what your brother has?"
"Voices he is unable to control and never will be able to control." Wilbur's words towards Techno had turned harsh and sharp, it made Phil realize how vulnerable Techno truly was. The arrow pierced into his arm had caused him so much pain but was hidden well enough for no one to suspect the internal pain he felt inside.
Screaming and yelling was not an option for Techno when it came to pain, silence was. Silence so he wouldn't concern his loved ones, silence so know one would know his problems, silence so his secrets would never be revealed.
But the silence of others were nonexistent, their cries and screams were what led to his dismay. If everyone was quiet his life would be peaceful, no one telling him what to do and nobody telling him what they wanted him to do just for their own entertainment and desperation of wanting something they are unable to get by themselves.
He just wanted a normal life but god had chosen him, he was god's puppet, something unstable, useless and strange turned into something more entertaining and smart. It's swift movements able to amaze the audience, it's unique and unusual behavior able to wow the audience and it's ability to do what it does was all thanks to its puppeteer.
Chapter Text
"Wilbur so basically Phil tried to kill Techno?"
"Yeah pretty much, guess you don't remember much since you were a stupid child back then no doubt that you still are one."
"I HEARD THAT YOU PIECE OF SHIT I'M TELLI- oh fuck." Tommy stumbled backwards, realizing the fatal mistake he had made, trying to call out Phil for aid.
Wilbur laughed heartily and ruffled Tommy's golden blonde hair as he pulled himself up. Tommy, enraged by his actions made an attempt in hitting his hand but he was too late as Wilbur's hand had been lifted off of his head.
Though, Tommy wasn't actually bothered or uncomfortable with what Wilbur had done to his now messy hair, it was just how he was. Loud and cheerful, some may even say his annoying but it was just how he is, not knowing the true him.
Tommy eyes were set on Wilbur, his lips perked up and gained up as much strength as he could. Tommy darted towards Wilbur, pushing Wilbur as hard as he could causing him to fall over.
"You dickhead!" Wilbur 'furiously' yelled as he got up. "Try and catch me bitch!" Tommy shouted as he began dashing towards the forest, trying not to lose too much stamina.
"DON'T WORRY WILBUR! I GOT HIM!" Tubbo screeched as he tackled Tommy done, Tommy wheezed as he attempted to push Tubbo away. He was lucky as his size was much bigger than Tubbo's despite being younger than him but the age difference wasn't so drastic, only one year apart while Wilbur and Techno were two years apart.
They seemed to be having a whale of a time, chasing each other constantly until one came out victorious. However, not all good things last forever, the sky had darkened and the sun was out of sight. They all laid on the soft grass, surrounded by beautiful flowers crowding the area saying their silly stories and nonsense until the sky was completely dark.
The three boys admired the stars, twinkling brightly such that it would stick out. Though seemingly drunk, they weren't actually drunk, moreover exhausted from a long day of nothing but running, ear-piercing screaming and just fun in general. Though Tubbo wasn't apart of their family, he felt like they really were and just wished he could stay longer.
Sounds of zombies groaning in the background, the rattling sound of bones hitting against on another, the obnoxious hissing sound behind the bushes. It was apart of their everyday lives. Wilbur dragged the two boys inside the house, not wanting to get a beating from Phil for not being 'responsible'.
"Imagine how cool it would be to have... our own country! We could do anything we want since it's ours after all. No one would tell us what to do, we can be free!" Tommy dreamt, expressing his thoughts to Wilbur and Tubbo.
"Sounds nice but what if we wanted to sell things like drugs Tommy, someone would try to stop us now would they?" The sudden mention of drugs being addressed caused Tommy and Tubbo to burst into laughter.
"MMM DRUGS!!!" Tommy cheered loudly.
Throwing fits of laughter left and right, it was impossible for them to get any sleep. They could pass out from exhaustion maybe but sitting in a chill room provided with blankets for warmth and comfort and their warm drinks could knock them out first.
"Tubbo, must you really go tomorrow? It's going to be so boring with just Wilbur. Plus, Techno isn't even here!" Tommy raised both of his arms, accidentally smacking Wilbur's drink and glasses.
"Oh shit, shit, shit." Wilbur was luckily that the drink wasn't boiling hot or he'd for sure get a lot of burn marks at the end of the day or beginning of the day to be specific.
"Tommy, good luck surviving Philza Minecraft, he'll be crafting a belt that's for sure." Wilbur shouted before disappearing from their sight.
Tubbo and Tommy scrambled to grab as many towels as they could to soak up as much liquid as it could soak up.
"I am so dead Tubbo! Philza Miencraft is going to come in and see it and then I'll be dead! DEAD I SAY! OH MY FUCKING GOD I'M TOO YOUNG AND STRONG AND COOL TUBBO! WHAT ABOUT ALL MY HOT WIVES AND GIRLFRIENDS???" Tommy panicked, sounding like a drama queen.
"Oh! Can I come to your funeral? Will there be any honey? I could maybe get some bees!" Tommy groaned at his friend's unhelpful comment and scrubbed the sofa, carpet and blanket as hard as he could.
Wilbur stared blankly at the mirror in front of him, hands gripping the sink tightly as he watched the tap run on it's own, allowing the water to slip through the small holes and escape. He had finished changing his clothes and threw his hot chocolate soaked shirt and pants to the side.
The lights weren't the best, Phil had forgotten to fix it before he left leaving Wilbur with a flickering light in the middle of the night.
The cut, it was still there. For a wooden sword who knew it would leave such a mark. He washed his face, drowning away the tears. He stiffened, staring at the mirror, wondering who he truly is.
Clenching his fist, he felt the urge to punch the mirror, punch it until his hands bleed, watch the blood trickle down his fist and seep through the holes of his fingers.
Pushing himself away from the mirror, he felt weaker. The doorknob felt like air, nothing. Wilbur began hyperventilating, panicking as he looked around the room. He walked backwards until his back had hit the wet cold sink behind him. Wilbur gulped and began focusing on the door, taking a deep breath, he charged into the door.
"AH!" Tubbo yelped and jumped up from the sofa at the sound of the door bursting open and hitting against the wall at full speed followed by the sound of a thud as Wilbur fell on to the floor.
The silence between them was sudden, it went from being as noisy as a packed cafeteria to being so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
"Did you guys finish cleaning?" Wilbur nonchalantly asked, breaking the silence as he brushes the dust from the floor off his brand new clothes.
"You can say yes and the best part is how we did it without you. See Wilbur, we are men!" Tommy exclaimed as he pulled Tubbo by his side.
"Yeah yeah." Wilbur ignored his claims causing Tommy to throw a vast amount of insults back at him.
"Hey, can we play some more?" Tubbo suddenly asked, loosening the grip from hugging his stuffed toy bee.
"Tubbo it's 2 am, were not going to play more."
"Angels don't sleep."
Angels.
Angels were... definitely different from humans. The differences were drastic but yet not. Angels were first created when god had enough of seeing the large amount of humans losing their lives even when they didn't deserve to lose it. It angered god how unfair it was for them to not be able to continue living their life, that was when he decided to give them a second chance.
Simply reviving them would cause rage amongst those superior as god, rambling about the consequences and how it destroys the system. Instead, god decided to turn them into angels, allowing them to dance and walk amongst the fluffy clouds, never having to see the darkness again. It reminded god of a horse, freely prancing around in an open field with no care for the world and people. With no presence to disturb it, it can roam around happily.
Though, just because heaven is a place many worldwide dreamt of vacationing to, it wasn't as free as they thought it was. Just because heaven is a place for those who god thinks deserve to be happy and continue living, there were strict rules. Rules which would contradict them being in heaven causing them to go through something much worse. It was just like real life, if someone did something illegal, it would contradict the fact that their not in jail or fined. And that jail for heaven was the nether. In this case, being in the nether was much worse than passing away.
Those who had sinned would pass away while those who had done things so critical to people would be sent to the nether. They would be trapped in the nether as a soulless being, wandering about only to be found in a loop. Those deemed bad would be trapped in a block called soul sand. A block where all sinned souls would go to. Not only was it cramped with other people, you could hear beings trampling over them, unable to hear their screams, cries or the brutal hit against the block. As much as they try to move it, as much as they want to be free they had broken god's trust and this was their life for the rest of eternity. However, there was something special about soul sand. There were small holes for them to barely fit there hands through. They would desperately wave them, attempting to call for assistance or help only to be ignored as always. When something walked over them, they would aggressively grab their legs, dragging them down while pleading for help, only for them to escape their grasp.
There was a special enchantment though, something known as Soul Speed. Soul Speed allowed a being to walk over soul sand with no problems, even being faster than normal walking speed. This is because once their boots make contact with the soul sand, it attracts the lost souls inside the soul sand like a magnet attracting magnet, bringing them to the surface and letting their souls be free. The problem was the lack of humans in the nether and the chances of one even having the enchantment. Most of the time, many gave up listening to the same cries and screams, looking at the same disgusting brown walls, losing their sanity and emotions.
Wilbur remember Techno mentioning all these facts to him. It made him despise that book. Most of the time he would feel jealousy over the angels being able to do whatever they want as long as it isn't bad. They were able to spend their time with the people they love if they were there and it would be even better if there was simply no one there. He could sit on the clouds, sing songs to himself and spend his days endlessly writing songs and when it came to the day to finally see other angels after months of loneliness, he could spread his creativity and joy. Other times he would pity them [the stuck souls]. He found it rather unfair that if they were to do one wrong thing, a fine in heaven would be their live taken away just like money getting sucked out of their pockets. Stuck souls however were like prisoners, jailed up for doing something wrong.
Wilbur felt nothing but hatred when Techno had first mentioned it. It was god's fault for giving them a second chance, it'd be best if they were just passed away so they wouldn't have to deal with the bullshit they had to deal with. How come does who did equal amount of good and bad things were allowed to pass away? What about the ones who did just a bit of bad things, what would happen to them? Would they join the lost souls? God gave the good a chance and they broke it, how does he know if all the rest of the angels would do the same? It was just stupid how god allowed those who were deemed good to be up there. For all he knows they could have just want to accept life and pass away but god chose them to stay alive but in a place of familiarity of the same cloud over and over again.
However, something not many people knew were the gifted angels. These angels were the angels which had access to Earth. Most of the time they were only able to stay for a while before being forced to be put back on Earth. Others were a different situation. One of these angels, was Phil. Phil was given the choice of staying on Earth or going back and not only that, he was also allowed to stay on Earth as long as he wanted to just so he could finish his task. This was all because he was close to the Goddess of Death, one of those higher ranked which not many dare to approach.
Tubbo was not different from Phil [except the Goddess of Death part], he had some how managed to convince the gods to let him go to Earth but with no reasoning. Tubbo was finally able to touch the grass, smell the fragrant scent of the flowers and be free like he always dreamt of. Being in heaven wasn't his ideal place of being free, more of a second life in a world which is unknown to many but yet in plain sight.
Like Phil, he was gifted something, 'shapeshifting' abilities though it wasn't entirely shapeshifting. Even though Phil had immortality, he also had crows to accompany his quite simple gift, simply being able to live forever. Tubbo on the other hand with his powers were able to 'be' any animal he wanted. If he felt like being a bee, instead of literally being one he would be given translucent bee like wings, barely able to lift him from the ground and antennas. As much as he had a liking towards bees, he feared he could accidentally hurt someone by stinging them.
Tubbo instead chose a goat, he was unsure why he chose it but he just felt like it. When he was given the choice to stay on Earth or go back to heaven. he chose Earth, while heaven was just a bunch of clouds in the sky with anything you can wish for, the Earth is a place with many mysteries are yet to be discovered, that was the differences.
How did Tubbo find Tommy, Wilbur and Techno? He recognized Phil. Given the features of a bird, he had wings much bigger than a bee's, allowing him to fly and explore around. He was only really able to have the features for a while before slowly losing the feature forced to be a different animal.
Tubbo spotted the cottage and thought of it as a wanderer's house, just a small, simple home they could easily go back to and rest until they finally decide to head out once again. Flying down, Tubbo knocked on the door nervously, turning into a goat instead to not be mistaken as the Angel of Death with his wings.
"Hello?" The man slightly opened the door to see the goat boy, shifting his leg nervously as the person behind the door could be anyone.
"Wait, Mr Philza?" Tubbo pointed to Phil's face, Phil also shocked by the surprise appearance.
"Toby? What are you doing on Earth?" Phil fully opened the door and shifted to the side not to block Tubbo's way.
"Well, they let me stay down here! Much better than being on clouds also please call me Tubbo mr philza minecraft." Tubbo cheerfully said as he peered into the cottage, looking around.
"Toby- I mean, Tubbo you do realize you could die on Earth right?" Tubbo shrugged it off and entered the home, picking up the cardboard crown on the floor along side the drawings with a large variety of crayons, unorganized and littered all over the floor.
"Phil, do you have kids?" Tubbo raised the drawing up and waved it in front of his face.
"Yes, quite sure one of them is 7 and the other two are 9, only one year apart." Tubbo's mouth formed the shape of an O having find out that Phil did not only have one, but three kids.
"I found and adopted all of them, their actually at the lake right now. We can go see them if you want." Tubbo excitedly nodded and dashed out the door, dropping the piece of paper and letting it glide down onto the couch.
Phil sighed and closed the door behind him, more kids for him to deal with.
According to Tubbo, he had died when he was only 4, pretty fucked life if you think about it. Not even think about it as it should be pretty obvious. He never dared specify how, the rest understanding why and letting him be but Tommy would sometimes hint the question to him.
"Woah! That's so cool!" Tommy cheered running up to Techno. One of his hands were on his hip while the other was occupied by the sword he used to defeat his poor brother currently in pain on the floor, crawling to the pond to freshen up.
"Techno maybe you know... DECREASE THE DIFFICULTY?" Wilbur angrily yelled, standing up and pointing to Techno rudely.
"Not my fault your bad, you should train more or else I might break you, kind of difficult not to break you since your as fragile as a twig." Techno patted his brother's head.
"Ha! Your bad." Tommy spat at Wilbur, making Wilbur more pissed off at his brothers.
"Sometimes I wish I could kill you Techno."
"Thank you for trying." Techno smirked, looking down on his brother.
"Boys!" Phil called out. They all turned their heads to look at Phil, stopping all activity they were doing.
"Meet Tubbo."
"Were getting another sibling?" Tommy quickly assumed, not allowing Phil to explain.
"No, this is just someone I know. Their around your age, 8 years old. Their also an angel, just like me." Tubbo stood beside Phil, mainly distracted by the sword he held.
It was an iron sword, not a suitable item to give to kids especially at a young age. They could possibly hurt someone if not careful but the pink hair boy seemed well trained. He must have been using the sword only to block attacks from the brunette and nothing else, only dodging attacks and sometimes attacking so he could train Wilbur to be more alert.
Judging by how the brunette was seen crawling on the floor with a twig in his hair, he might have been kicked down by pink hair.
"Hello!" Tommy chirped as he ran towards Tubbo.
"My name is Tommy! And it's cool how your an angel! Do you have wings?" Tubbo smiled, glad to see someone near his age interacting with him.
Phil left Tommy and Tubbo to play whilst he discussed with Techno and Wilbur.
"Hey Tubbo, want to know something scary?" Tommy made a strange action using his fingers to imitate the impression that something scary was about to happen.
Tubbo nodded silently, waiting for what his new friend was going to tell him.
"My brother Techno [the pink and cooler one] has this thing which is called the Blood God curse but it sounds pretty dumb. What would a blood god do? Summon blood? Sounds dumb if you think about it." Tommy rambled on.
Tubbo's eyes widened in horror hearing those words.
"Tommy that's a bad thing. I don't think your safe around him." Tubbo frowned, trying to explain to Tommy how he had to get away as far as possible.
"You're just overreacting Tubbo." Tommy stood up, reaching his hand out to pull Tubbo up.
"Ignoring that topic, let's be the best of the friends! We can be way better than the two of them." Tommy suggested. Though their friendship was quite sudden, Tubbo was glad to make the decision of being best friends with Tommy.
"Yeah, yeah, you and your angels living in paradise able to do whatever you want." Tommy scoffed, a hint of jealously noticeably heard in the way he spoke.
"Hey Tubbo, how was it like living in heaven?" Wilbur mumbled, fiddling with the necklace he wore around his neck.
It was a necklace given to him by Phil when he was 8, he practically followed him for 11 years as he was 19 years old now. It followed he and Techno from the day they received it, Techno dying his hair, Tommy's birthday, and today.
"It's not as paradise as you think it is firstly. It feels like it barely turns night most of the time and when it does, it barely lasts long enough for me to just stargaze. Sure, I'm high in the sky but the timing up here is fucked. It's so plain and boring, you can get everything you want but the flooring is always just clouds and the ceiling is just the sky, no walls. Plus, there are some strict rules up there, if we fuck up then poof, were gone. It's not as free as you may think it is so that's why Earth is better than that shithole up there." Tubbo explained.
"Earth is also a shithole so were just permanently in a shithole." Tommy said, trying to sound as smart as possible.
"Your not wrong." Wilbur added in, agreeing with his statement.
The three joked around until sun rise, the sky tinted with the color of orange.
Wilbur and Tommy yawned, lying on the sofa with blankets over their bodies. Tubbo sat on the handle, giving them space as he closed his eyes.
"PHIL LOOK OUT!" A raspy voice screeched as they raised their sword, stabbing a zombified child.
"Techno please-"
"Phil you almost died to one last time."
"I am immortal."
"Not for long."
Pushing the leaves aside to make way, they stood on the exposed roots of the trees and examined the area.
"I think we should head back now Phil, we pretty much got all the stuff we need right?" Techno questioned waiting for Phil's confirmation.
"Yeah we're good to go." Phil confirmed, standing up and spreading his wings.
"Hey Phil, how long have you been on Earth?" Techno asked out of curiousity.
"It's been a while, I haven't exactly been counting the years." Phil sighed, not expecting the next remark Techno was about to add in.
"You know your getting old Phil."
"Mate repeat that and I'm dropping you."
"Please, I never die!" Techno's arrogant side overtaking.
"If you say so." Phil smirked, loosening the grip.
"Wait no I take it back, it's just a joke, you can handle jokes right?" The panic in Techno's voice rose as he began waving his arms in fear of falling to his death.
"Not so brave anymore huh?" Phil chuckled at his childish behaviour.
"Phil that is factually incorrect I am always brave it is just that I am at a situation where I could possibly DIE at the impact." Techno huffed.
At the sight of their home, Phil slowly began to glide down, the sun was already up and both were tired from their adventure.
"You think they're asleep?" Techno asked what seemed to be a stupid question.
"I mean, most likely. Tubbo is definitely awake though." Phil answered as he took out the same familiar golden key out of his bag.
To no surprise Tubbo was indeed awake but Wilbur and Tommy on the other hand was half awake, mumbling and slurring their words when speaking to Tubbo.
"Holy shit go to sleep." Phil instructed Wilbur and Tommy.
"But I don't want to!" Tommy whined.
"Oh my god you incompetent children."

Chapter Text
"Hey Technoblade." Wilbur murmured as Techno sharpened his sword, trying not to lose focus on his task at hand.
"What do you want Wilbur?" Techno said in an accidental harsh tone.
Wilbur shivered at the sound of his dead, raspy voice. All the positivity found it his voice had seemed to disperse somewhere else, never to be seen again.
Wilbur quickly cleared his throat, leaning against the wall as he adjusted his beanie.
Techno felt uncomfortable knowing how Wilbur was still in the room and had been silently watching him do his thing.
"Sorry if I'm bother you or anything." Wilbur whispered under his breath, not being his usual self.
"You are."
"Oh." Wilbur gulped, putting his hand behind his back as he waited.
"So Technoblade, how are you-"
"Why are you calling me that name?" Techno looked up but not at him, it was as if he hated him so much that he wanted to completely wipe out his face from his memory.
"Sorry, Techno. Can you tell me when you're done?" Wilbur finally gained the courage to ask.
Techno raised his sword and placed it in his scabbard, hanging around his hips.
"Go ahead." Techno said in his monotonous voice.
"You seem stressed and tired Techno, I know you're not getting enough sleep." Wilbur crossed his arm.
"Are we really going to have the talk on these voices which is quite crystal clear enough that I can't control or do anything about it, just stop alright?" Techno's harsh words cut through Wilbur like a knife.
His heart felt damaged but he knew he had to stay strong, he couldn't let his own brother ruin the mood, if there even was one.
"No, no, we don't want to be so quick on assumptions now do we Techno?" Wilbur said in a more cheerful tone.
"So, what is it then?" Techno relaxed his shoulders, a calm expression formed on his face.
"Follow me, it'll be worth it." Wilbur chirped, stretching out his hand.
Techno looked at the hand and back at Wilbur, analyzing the situation and trying to figure out what was going on.
He placed his hand on Wilbur's and was pulled out of the door and out of the house.
"You're going to break my arm!" Techno complained, causing Wilbur to laugh.
"Don't say that Mr Blood God." Wilbur teased, continuing to dash to somewhere unknown.
Techno suddenly became wary of his surroundings, it was out of bounds and barely any sunlight was able to make it through the dense forest.
Finally, they came across a path and Wilbur shifted his direction immediately.
Wilbur ducked down to avoid getting hit by any branches. After all, he was pretty tall and much taller than Phil, Tommy and Techno.
"Ow." Techno said monotonously after getting hit by one of the few branches Wilbur tried to dodge.
Wilbur wanted to stop and just fall to the ground but he hasn't even made it to their destination yet.
Trying not to lose too much of his stamina, he slowed down the pace while still swiftly heading to the mysterious location.
"This is pretty far Wilbur, are you bringing me to a death trap because boy am I excited." Techno spat out one of his sarcastic remarks.
"Stop being so pessimistic Techno, try being more you know, optimistic?" Wilbur smiled as they continued running.
He was determined to make Techno's day, bringing him to a calm and quiet place.
"Where is Tommy and Phil anyways?" Techno questioned after seemingly crafting and sharpening his swords for what seemed like most of the day from sunset to sunrise.
"Phil brought Tommy to a village." Wilbur answered, not looking back.
"I can't help but notice the guitar casing your carrying, brought it here on accident?" Techno continued to spew out questions to Wilbur.
"Nope, it'll be useful for later." Wilbur said in the same tone as the previous question.
From a dirt path turned into the sound of the soft grass being trampled over by two boys.
"Techno I require you to close your eyes, it's a surprise." Wilbur snickered, seeming excited to show Techno wait awaits for him.
He couldn't help but smile seeing his brother in such a joyous mood. He began to regret lashing out for a bit, he was just too tired.
Techno did as he was told and shut his eye tightly, not wanting the surprise to be spoiled by his incompetence.
Wilbur dragged Techno out of the forest and into a place he'd never seen.
"Look!" Wilbur chirped, signaling Techno to open his eyes.
Slowly opening his eyelids, he was greeted by the beautiful blue sky and an open field with nothing but a huge tree on a hill. Nearby was a variety of flowers, all beautifully laid out on the bushes with some growing on the floor, blooming.
Techno felt undeniably calm and much better. Being able to have no one there to disturb you is something he dreamt of for so long. Sure, he was attached to his brother but being able to experience what peace and serenity was was truly incredible.
"Let's go to the hill." Wilbur grinned and said in a gentle tone, letting his brother's ear rest after having to deal with him for years.
They climbed out the hill effortlessly as it wasn't very steep.
"Oh hey, Techno I'll be back! I need to grab something, I'll leave my guitar here." Wilbur opened the guitar case and left it lying on the floor while the guitar itself rested on the trunk of the tree.
Before Techno could say anything, Wilbur had already skipped off to do his own things, leaving Techno alone.
He sat down underneath the tree, unsure of what to do. Does he just... lay there?
Techno closed his eyes and for the first time in years instead of hearing voices he heard nothing but birds chirping in the air, the wind breezing by him.
He ran his hands through his silky hair. Techno felt odd, he didn't know what to do with his hands, he always had a book or a sword but this time he had nothing.
Wilbur seemed to be looking around for flowers. He picked up a bundle of flowers, trying not to drop any as it blocked his view.
He carefully walked up the hill, praying that he wouldn't drop anything.
"I'm back!" Wilbur chirped, dropped the flowers on to the ground.
"What's all this for?" Techno raised an eyebrow.
"I was thinking we could maybe make some flower crowns! I tried getting as much as I could so I could hand some over to Tommy and Phil. If we have enough we could also make one for Tubbo! It'll be like matching flower crowns! [not exactly matching but still]." Wilbur explained, handing Techno half of the flowers Wilbur had gotten.
"Hey Will, I don't exactly know how to make these." Techno mumbled, flustered that the one thing he didn't know how to do was make flower crowns.
The voices in his head began taunting him for being bad but he ignored it knowing it was only there to destroy his peace.
"Don't worry! I'll teach you." Wilbur smiled, going through the instructions, pausing for Techno to copy his actions.
"Huh, this is pretty easy once you get the hand of it." Techno said as he breezily finished making one.
"I think I got too many but hey! The more the merrier am I right?" Wilbur admired his creation.
Out of the blue, he placed it over Techno's head, surprising Techno.
"Why'd you give it to me?"
"I thought it'd be a nice gift! Plus, it looks okay with you." Wilbur complimented Techno. He didn't know how much longer he could handle the kindness of his brother.
"Ah I see... I might as well give you my one then huh?" Techno chuckled and threw the flower crown over to Wilbur.
"Hey! That's not a nice way to give someone a gift!" Wilbur pouted.
"No shit sherlock." Techno scoffed, looking back at his unfinished flower crown and continuing to make it.
After being contented with their day of constant flower crown making and continuous conversations, they had finished making 6 more flower crowns. "That was nice wasn't it? Something easy to do plus, you learnt something new!"
"Yeah but, these are real flowers. Won't they just die?" Techno asked, looking at the delicately made flower crowns.
"Sadly yes, I wish they would last longer. Fake flowers just don't feel right you know? Being able to pick the flowers and turn it into a gift is much better than just buying it from a store. Doesn't have the same feeling of satisfaction." Wilbur stared once more at the flower crown in his hand, trying to be as careful as possible not to pluck out any petals on accident.
"But it doesn't really excuse the fact that were killing flowers."
"Come on Techno, I told you to be optimistic about stuff!" Wilbur groaned, shaking his brother.
"Sorry that you can't get what you want." Rolling his eyes in a jokingly manner.
"Here's the thing, these flower crowns are what we consider one of the good things in life. But all the good things disappear every single time and we're never able to contain it for the rest of our lives. I like to think that these are like our lives. Most of the time they start out well and incredibly but overtime some bizzare event may occur ensuing chaos." Techno nodded, agreeing with what he had said and waiting for him to continue his speech.
"It may cause our lives to you know, spiral down. But hey, sometimes there is just this one thing which enables us to continue it for as long as we can. These flowers only last a couple of days but they try to live and enjoy life as much as they can by surviving even without their necessities." Wilbur held a left over flower in his hand before dropping it down on to the ground.
"Hey Will, you know what may help brighten up this day? There has to be a reason you brought the guitar so, could you play it?" Techno requested.
"Ah, I almost forgot about it!" Wilbur stood up and picked up his guitar, exchanging places with it. Wilbur was now leaning on the tree beside Techno. He strummed the guitar, humming a tune at first before bursting into a song. It wasn't too loud or too soft, just something soothing and nice for the ears to listen to.
He spent the rest of the day singing songs as Techno listened, not a single time did he fall asleep as he didn't dare to fall asleep. No matter how sleep deprived he was, he had to be there to hear his songs until the end.
Wilbur's songs were something he wished the world could be seen but in the same time only sung to those close to his heart. He felt that if it was ever shown, who knows how far it could spread, who knows what their lives might be.
"Hey Techno." Wilbur paused.
"Yeah?"
"Do you remember when I sang you too sleep."
Techno felt a bit worried when he heard those words. He couldn't tell if it was good or bad, the outcome is unimaginable as millions and millions of results could only have one being the true option.
"Seems like you were finally able to hear the full songs." Wilbur chuckled, He took out the notepad which was hidden out of plain sight inside the guitar casing and opened, revealing every single line he had written. Some pages was a complete mess, lines were everywhere. Cancelling each mistake he had made, cancelling every line which just didn't click.
Flipping to the next page, was a much neater version of the song, barely any lines were seen and were only there if a spelling mistake were to occur.
"You really do love writing songs don't you Will." Techno stared in awe at the tons and tons of pages he had used up for songs.
"Yup, going to be honest, I always sang to you the previews of the songs. None of them were completed yet but hey at least you were able to sleep." Techno passes Wilbur the book back, putting it back into the guitar case.
"I mean they still sounded good so." Techno shrugged it off, fiddling with his fingers.
"Hey it's getting late, let's head back." Techno suggested, noticing how the sky began to darken and shift colour.
"If you say so." Wilbur groaned and got up, stretching after a long time of leaning against a tree.
"Do you remember the path back?" Wilbur questioned.
Techno nodded unsurely, not knowing why it was asked.
"I'll race you back." Wilbur stuck his tongue out at him before dashing towards the forest.
"Hey! That's unfair!" Techno shouted, chasing after him.
They felt like kids again, barely any responsibilities, being able to play for what seemed like hours and just having fun in general.
They were like boisterous and playful children, screaming and laughing so loudly it could be heard from the forest.
"Fuck!" Wilbur shrieked after hitting his head on a branch and falling backwards, covering his forehead with his hands, shielding it away from anything else.
"Oh shoot, are you okay Will"?" Techno worriedly ran over to him, picking him up.
"Yeah I'm fine." Wilbur assured him.
"But this doesn't mean the race isn't over, see ya sucker!" Wilbur cheekily laughed and swiftly ran off again, leaving Techno dumbfounded for a second.
"Wilbur you are so dead."
Before Techno began running again, he noticed an irregular vibrant coloured shaped object lying on the floor. He shifted his feet to see that he had accidentally stepped on Wilbur's flower crown.
"God damn it." Techno sighed, checking to see if any of the flowers were damaged too badly.
"He wouldn't notice, right?" Techno brushed the dirt of the flowers and scurried back home.
"Ha ha! You're last and I'm first!" Wilbur rubbed in Techno's face.
"But I was the first back with their flower crown." Techno raised Wilbur's flower crown before tossing it over to him.
"Ah... Forgot about that." Wilbur embarrassed that he was too focus on the race.
"By the way, Will where did you two go?" Phil asked climbing down the stairs.
"Somewhere."
"Oh yeah Will you forgot your guitar." "What the FUCK-"
Techno shoved the guitar case to Wilbur containing his notebook, guitar and the flower crowns.

Chapter Text
"I don't want the flower crown."
"Too bad!" Wilbur grinned, forcing Tommy to wear it as he shrieked, running up and down the house.
"Hey come back!" Wilbur yelled from upstairs as Tommy dashed into the kitchen where Phil stood, helping Techno chop up some potatoes.
"PHILLLL! WILBUR IS BEING A DICK!" Tommy whined, tugging on to Phil's shirt like a 5 year old.
"Tommy, your 17 years old." Phil sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, struggling containing his laughter.
Wilbur raised his arms in the air and dropped his flower crown, showing that he had surrendered and given up.
"Hah! You suck!" Tommy pointed to Wilbur's disappointed face.
"Techno! Catch!" Out of the blue, Wilbur snatched the flower crown and tossed it over to Techno.
He impressively caught it with one hand, back facing Wilbur and Tommy before bursting into a sprint towards Tommy.
Tommy shrieked, standing completely still and shielding his face knowing he had no hope in running away from the blade.
Techno stopped, casually walking towards Tommy as he held the flower crown as if he was about to place an actual crown above his head.
"Here's your crown your highness." Techno teased, gently dropping the flower crown over his head and walking off.
"I've never been so intimidated by someone giving me a fucking flower crown." Tommy trembled.
"That's Techno." Wilbur grinned, adjusting Tommy's flower crown.
"Must I really wear it?" Tommy groaned, crossing his arms.
"Phil insists we should, he already made his one never die?" Wilbur said in an unsure tone.
"Just a little trick." Phil hummed as he continued cooking.
"Phil I'm quite sure you got the wrong being because I'm the one who never dies." Techno brags after his multiple risky survivals for years.
Being trained under the assistance of the Angel of Death was truly a once in a life time opportunity.
Overtime he slowly became more and more skilled but yet more distanced from those who were once close to him.
But that fact was already known, too well known.
"When's the food done?" Tommy whined as usual. Wilbur didn't know what to expect anymore, life was looping and he couldn't do anything about it.
Every now and then a day would be different before it instantly switches back to normal.
Bored was what he felt now, no longer wrinkling up his nose at the sight of Techno's injuries, no longer feeling concern for him. The only thing he cared about was Tommy.
So joyful, so much opportunity, he wanted him to be safe. If someone hurt Techno, he knew he'd be fine, he doesn't need anyone's help.
Tommy on the other hand, a still young and gullible boy had to be protected. Looking up to some 'immortal' being wasn't too good as one may replicate their actions and risk their life.
He couldn't lose the only person he really ever cared for at this point of life.
"Alright mate, here's your food you impatient gremlin."
"HEY! PHILZA MINECRAFT I LOOK UP TO YOU AND YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT TO YOUR SUPPORTER! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" Tommy fake cried, covering his face with his hands and looking down to reenact a scene of sadness.
"Stop being so overdramatic Tommy." Wilbur smacked Tommy at the back of his head jokingly.
Tommy rubbed his head, no longer faking a cry.
"Hey Phil, I'm going to head off." Techno pushes aside the completely clean plate and walked out the house within a few seconds.
"Well, Wilbur take care of Tommy again, I'm going to go somewhere as well. Might be gone for a couple of days but it's normal by now." Phil grabbed his cloak, the same cloak he has been using for years.
It had multiple tears and holes in it. Most of the parts were stitched back together while others were a lost hope.
Phil didn't want to repeatedly go back to get some cloth just so it would be torn again.
He mainly stitched up the larger patches while leaving the more small holes alone.
Phil left the house in a hurry, the same as what Techno did. The two oblivious brothers sat at the dining table, alone.
"Hey, catch." Tommy flicked his food over to Wilbur. Wilbur with his sadly slow reaction time to what had happened, ended up with food on his face, slowly drooping down.
"I'm going to bash your head with a potato." He set one foot on the table, raising a potato in his hand with a look of determination for revenge.
Childish people.
The memory of Techno's voices was completely wiped out from Wilbur's head.
"Can you promise me that you wouldn't remove the flower crown?" Wilbur, from head to toe completely covered in food, stuck out his pinky waiting for Tommy to do the same.
"No." Tommy smirked.
"Tommy I'm going to kill you."
"OKAY OKAY I PROMISE I PROMISE!" Tommy shrieked, falling backwards to the wall.
"Good." Wilbur patted his head before smacking it once again.
"THAT WAS JUST UNCALLED FOR DICKHEAD!" Wilbur cackled, walking towards the bathroom to clean himself up.
The same mirror. Wilbur seemed much more tired, his eyes a more muted colour. What could it signify.
The lights flickered once more, the unpleasant colours of the bathroom made him feel unease.
Why the bathroom? Because they always knock. The door is always locked, it's expected because it's a literal bathroom. Who simply leaves it unlocked in a house full of people?
The one place where barely any lights get through. No one wants open windows in a bathroom.
But, even without windows, the more unease one will feel.
It's cramped, your never sure if someone is watching or not.
"Wilbur! Are you done?" Tommy loudly banged on the door.
"Yeah, Yeah." Wilbur walked out.

Chapter 8: the consequences
Chapter Text
Walking through the forest, Phil felt a sense of familiarity. The times where he had chosen not to use his wings and just went for a walk. Placing his hand on each oak tree he passed by.
A piece of paper he held in his hand, yellowed from age. He sighed, looking up with noticeable nervousness on his face.
Phil had reached his destination, stuffing the paper back in to his pocket, he carefully scanned his surroundings, wary of what may happen if he wasn't careful.
Cautious with each step he took, he didn't know this strange odd man and what his deal was, all he wanted was to keep his family safe.
Reaching the odd location, it was rather isolated, no different from the location he set for his home but this felt more cramped and less spacious.
Phil looked out for any traps near by. Those things were fucking dangerous if it was meant to trick oblivious and clueless wanderers. They were more of death traps than regular traps.
One wrong step and you could be instantly dead. They weren't the stereotypical and boring traps found around forests in movies and videogames. Instead of unexpected traps leaving you dangling in the air or sharp metal bear traps to cut of your legs, the traps in this world were brutal.
Lava traps, lava traps are a very common trap. They can usually be activated with the help of machinery aka, redstone. Redstone is what powers machines and can be found deep into the mines though, if you were to go mining they can be quite common at deeper levels unlike the more higher ones nearer to the surface.
Trapped chests would activate it, causing the floor to open up and for the victim to fall into cobwebs. Why cobwebs? So it would allow them to experience a slow death of staring into the lava until you escape it, only to be greeted by a warm hug by it and soon be engulfed by lava, leaving absolutely not a single bit of you left.
The list goes on about how trapped chests could be used in many different types of traps but Phil didn't want the thought of death to be in his mind as it is something he'll never experience anyways.
Clearing his thoughts, he was welcomed by a small building. It wasn't too fancy, just a simple house but it seemed pretty small.
Phil opened the door, the creaking sound of the door piercing his ear drums.
"Hello?" Phil entered the slightly-dimmed room. Barely any windows were around the house, the only light source being torches which weren't enough to light up the entire room.
"Ah, Philza, Angel of Death am I correct?" Phil jumped the moment he heard those words, he quickly drew his sword out, aiming it at the man's face.
"Hey calm down now." He placed his finger on the place of the sword and pushed it downwards away from his face.
A mask with a smiley face blocked his face, sealing away his identity from anyone.
"I'm not going to do anything, I just want to talk. How about I start off with a friendly introduction since I started off from the wrong foot, I'm the one who wrote that letter in your pocket." He pointed to the exposed piece of paper, sticking out of his pocket.
"You still remember my request don't you? 1 years, still no reply." He crossed his arm, leaning against the wall beside a lit torch.
Phil pulled out the now crumbled piece of paper having stuffed it in a hurry and opened it.
Phil was shocked, he finally understood the small detail of the man signing off with a smiley face at the very bottom of the paper. He looked at the paper and at the man again, the exact same face. It was like a symbol made just to represent him.
"Well uh, you see mate, I already did the job, their gone, snap of the finger and their dead, after all I am the Angel of Death and all." Phil nervously chuckled, slowly lowering his hand and scratching the back of his head.
"So what? You rather save one person's life and leave many others to die? You don't want your already bad reputation to be ruined further now do you?" Dream sounded quite serious despite his appearance. The silly smile on his mask just made it more unsettling.
It had dawned on Phil that, if he didn't kill Techno, Wilbur might die, Tommy might die, many others might die and all the dots would be connected towards Phil for not stopping him in time.
"Isn't there another alternative? I am already trying to help him control the voices after all." Phil gulped, tightly gripping the piece of paper.
"Philza this is serious, you can't control it. No matter how calm they may seem at first, when the right moment comes, they'll strike. You can't just permanently stop it, you have to get rid of the controlled to get rid of the controller." The man explained.
Phil wanted to break down on the spot, killing someone who he had trained and trained for years only to kill them at the very end. Techno was 7 when Phil had first adopted him so killing him at the age of 19? He was too young and it had been so long since he first got him.
"Philza, you have to kill him." He deadpan told Phil.
Phil's heart dropped, at that point he couldn't tell if he should trust him or not.
"How do I know you're not lying to me?" Phil snarled, his anger taking over him.
"Tell me, do you really think he's okay? Lacking enough sleep, the voices are what forces him to stay awake all the time. He'd be lucky if the voices calmed down for once, their making him go insane. There has to be a breaking point where he finally snaps." He calmly said.
"You have to chase after him, now." Adding on to the previous sentence.
Phil backed away, arm behind him so he could reach for the doorknob. He opened the door and dashed out, launching off into the air.
Suddenly, a flock of crows flew beside him, fast enough to catch up.
"DADZA DON'T TRUST HIM!" They screeched.
"Look chat, some of his points were right, Techno could just, go on a rampage one day and I wouldn't be able to stop them." Phil seemed pretty convinced but not completely.
He doubted that killing Techno would do anything, the voices could move on to someone else.
No one knows how the voices works really but if what that man said was correct, that means everything thing he said about the voices had to be correct.
Questions filled his head, unable to tell what was right and what as wrong anymore.
"I have to find Techno." He mumbled under his breath, overtaking the birds and flying far enough to not be able to hear them anymore.
They still followed behind but soon strayed further away until they were invisible, away from Phil's vision.
Looking down, he tried to spot a vibrant pink colour amongst the dull green leaves of the trees.
Gliding closer to the ground, the chances of him crashing into a tree was high but being skilled was able to gracefully dodged everyone one of them.
"Techno, Techno, Techno." It didn't sound like a word to him anymore, it just left a bitter taste in his mouth. Why didn't Techno tell Phil from the beginning? Why did he have to keep it a secret?
Instead of feeling guilty, he felt pissed off.
"God damn it, Techno I trusted you." He murmured.
"Chat, come here." Phil demanded, leaving the frightened crows to slowly inch closer to Phil but keep a distance away.
"Where is Techno?"
Multiple number of answers shot out their mouths. From biomes to numbers, surroundings to people.
After the vast amount of replies, he came to conclusion of a snow biome, one with no trees around and is nothing but snow and frozen lakes, sprinkled around the area.
"A snow biome? You have to be joking." Phil grumbled.
"Alright in that case, were going."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Is that enough blood for today?" Techno questioned, looking like his talking to himself.
"POG!" "E" "TECHNOPOG!" "BLOOD" "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" "ONE OF US!" The voices cheered in delight, satisfied at the sight of the death of many humans.
Killing animals was just not satisfying to see at all. Mainly because they don't put up a good fight, they just sit there, ready to be killed by some reckless uncontrollable human. People on the other hand, they can be skilled or their not skilled, either way they'll some what defend themselves.
If one can't fight back, they can run. Sometimes they can be pretty quick but lack the ability to fight, sometimes they can be skilled but may not have enough strength to run away.
It amuses the voices because Techno will never be the prey and even if he were, the tables would have turned instantly.
"God I can't believe I'm forced to drag myself out of the house to get them for you." Techno scoffed, staring at the dead body at his feet, kicking it over.
Suddenly, a single crow flew towards Techno, perching on his head.
"What the? Why is one of Phil's crows here?" Techno looked up, the bird cawing loudly in his ears.
"Do you guys understand it?" Techno asked in confusion.
The crow seemed disappointment before cawing again, this time the voices were able to translate it and transfer the information to Techno.
"DANGER!" "Techno you might want to go somewhere safe." "HUH? PHIL???" "RUN!"
"Run from what, what do you mean Phil? Is he in danger? Where is he?" Panic rose in his face, unsure of what was happening.
"Phil wants to kill you!" They yelled, causing Techno to cackle.
"Phil wanting to kill me? That bird must be insane to think of that." He wiped away a tear.
However, even more crows came and began yelling the same thing to him.
"Alright now your just not funny at all, why would Phil want to kill me? There's no explanation." Techno shrugged it off, trying his best to ignore what seemed like silly lies to him.
Dragging the bloody sword through the snow biome, allowing it to glide on the snow as it stains it with blood, leaving a obvious trail.
"Hey mate!" Phil chirped, scaring him.
"What the-" Techno covered his mouth, almost close to swearing.
"Look, I have something to tell you, it's very important alright." Phil frowned.
"Someone is going after you. I know you kept your secret from me when we first met but after a while I understood. Sure, I was pissed off but I couldn't kill you, I can't lose you." Phil looked straight at Techno, speaking in a serious tone.
"What...? What's going on Phil? Your crows were telling me how you were going to kill me." Techno shoved Phil away, worried that they were being serious.
"No mate you don't understand. I was pissed off really, I tried asking for alternatives there really weren't any. I don't know what to do mate, all I know is that if I wasn't going for you, someone else is." Phil said in a shaky voice, tears filling up his eyes.
Techno looked at him worriedly, he didn't know what to do, killing the dude going after him wouldn't solve anything, it might make it worse for all he knows.
If people found out who killed him, he was over. He would have to lurk in the shadows, cautiously figuring out who to go for. Not only that, they could hurt his family.
The crow looked in surprise, feeling rather embarrassed that he spread misconception around.
The voices had eased down but were rather pissed at the crow who had misunderstood the situation.
"But then what do I do? I can't kill the guy."
"You might have to hide, you can't just leave dead bodies scattered around! If people find it your in trouble. Plus, leaving a trail of blood isn't the best idea, they might be able to track you down and get some information on who you are. Once they do that, they might begin putting bounties on you." Phil sighed.
"And what if they find me?" Techno raised an eyebrow.
"Just, don't kill them. They know who you are, your name, your appearance and what's going on. But they didn't tell anyone yet which is quite suspicious." Phil rubbed his chin.
"What if I train you more? I can help you with your defense since you mainly attack." Phil suggested, figuring it was one of the only options left he could do.
"Doesn't sound too bad, why not?" Techno smiled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In an isolated area, Phil swiftly cleared out the trees to form a circle.
"Try not to go into the forest. If you do, you fail." Phil warned.
Techno nodded, looking at the large area Phil had prepared.
"Hey Phil."
"Hm? What's up mate?"
"I feel like I owe you one. After all, without you, me and Wilbur might have even made it out of the forest alive. Which is why I promised myself and my voices to protect you, I didn't want to see you injured as it pains me knowing how I failed my duty Phil. Sure your an immortal but hey, for you the world Phil." Techno placed his hand on Phil's shoulder, saying a speech as if it was the very last thing he would ever say.
"Aw, thanks mate." Phil smiled, hugging Techno.
"Alright enough with the chit chat, let's practice alright mate?" Phil cheerfully said.
Techno held his sword, preparing for when Phil strikes.
Their swords hit against each other. Techno shifted to the side, trying not to get hit by Phil.
All day long they practiced until Techno's arms were sore from holding the sword. Each time the difficulty seemed to increase after each round. He was exhausted by the end of the day.
"Let's call it a day alright Phil?" Techno sat on the grass, watching the crows pass by.
"You know what surprises me? The fact that you took the time to push up your flower crown so it wouldn't fall. Not a great idea to do so, you have to focus on your enemy, you can't take your eyes off them or it gives them the chance to attack." Phil chided.
"Wilbur made it for me so of course I'm going to wear it." Techno hummed staring at his sword.
"You made mine correct?" Phil asked as he pulled him up.
"Well, the nicer one was made by Wilbur so probably." Techno joked, accidentally insulting himself.
Phil laughed as he pats Techno's back.
"Alright, let's head back. We can train again tomorrow alright mate?" Techno nodded.
Since then, they would leave the house early to train Techno's ability in defense.
Each of those days, Phil seemed rather sadder and sadder and sadder until it was the last day of training. He seemed rather frightened and nervous as if something bad was approaching.
"Sorry, almost forgot about the training. Wilbur wanted to tell me something so I stopped to listen." Techno chuckled, apologizing.
"Nah it's fine mate." Phil mumbled.
"Phil? Did something happen? Did someone do something to you?" Techno's concern for Phil increased, it was the highest it had ever been and was always going to be the highest peak.
"I'm fine, let's begin. Today's weather is perfect, it's not raining for once." Phil pulled down his head, covering the sunlight from burning his eyes.
The flower crown was placed around his hat since he wasn't normally too fond of taking off the hat.
"Wow, no surprise that my flower crown is already dying. You forgot to put your magic spell thing on mine Phil." Techno jokingly complained, making Phil let out a small chuckle before switching back to his original expression.
"Ha yeah, now let's practice. Let's make this one short alright mate? Don't want to tire you out too much." Phil assured.
"Phil your underestimating me, I can handle multiple trainings." Techno bragged.
"Yeah sure." Phil sighed.
Techno stood at the other end like always, holding his sword out while Phil's one still remained in the scabbard.
He signaled the start of the training and ran towards Techno, drawing out his sword.
The sound of their swords clashing against each other could easily be heard like thunder during a thunderstorm.
"Hey Phil, can we take a break real quick? I'm kind of thirsty." Techno breathed heavily, crouching down at the side, tired out from the training.
"Go on, I'll wait." Phil lowered his sword, allowing him to drink some water.
"Alright I-"
Phil kicked him down, one foot used to keep him down as he drew out his sword again, the end of the blade by his neck.
"Hey Phil, where was the warning?" Techno trembled, noticing how his sword had been thrown to the side, too far for him to reach.
Techno pushed Phil away, running towards his sword before getting kicked down again.
"Phil?" The look of terror on Techno's face was not too common, it was rather rare.
The way he spoke sounded like an innocent child, traumatized and scared of what it just witnessed.
"This is your last training, expect it to be difficult and realistic." Phil raised his sword, slashing Techno's arm as he barely managed to escape.
"Phil, what the hell? Are you out of your mind?!" Techno yelled at him but he only stared blankly at him.
Techno's hand was for the first time covered in his own blood. He panicked as Phil began flying towards him with no warning at all.
He rolled over to the side to avoid getting hit again.
As powerful as he was, he wasn't as powerful as Phil.
"KILLZA!" "DADZA NO" "TECHNO FIGHT BACK" "RUN RUN RUN"
While the voices were determined they were also scared. The crows were concerned but were not complaining.
Their swords clashed against one another again, Techno felt weaker as blood continued to seep through the large cut.
He winced in pain as Phil pushed him to the side.
"KILLZA! KILLZA!" The crows cheered while some stayed by Techno's side.
"You should have told me earlier." The blade pierced through Techno's chest, blood spilling all over the ground.
Techno's vision was blurry and he felt dizzy. He had a throbbing headache and felt like he was going to faint but permanently.
Phil held on to the handle and kicked Techno back, taking the sword out of his chest.
Phil stared at it and finally, saw his own reflection.
Techno was never the monster, Phil was.
Techno didn't want it, he was forced to have it. Phil on the other hand had the will to choose what he wanted to do but yet did the one thing he dreaded.
Phil dropped the sword and gasped, covering his mouth.
His hand was coated with blood, tears welling up in his eyes as he dropped to the floor next to Techno.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." Phil cried, holding Techno's hand.
Soon, all the warmth in his body was going to be sucked out, feeling nothing but cold.
Phil wanted to scream until his voice was gone. How was he going to break the news to Wilbur and Tommy?
As he held his dying son in his hands, he gritted his teeth, yelling at himself.
"Phil." Techno called out in a raspy voice.
It had caught Phil's attention, he looked at Techno with a wide-eyed expression.
"Thank you." Techno smiled at Phil. He seemed so happy but why? The flower crown he wore quickly withered away. Phil gasped as he watched the flower soon shrivel up.
"You know, Wilbur told me these flowers were like us. He was correct. While mine has withered away, yours is still healthy and fine and will always be fine. You gifted it immortality just like how you were gifted immortality, mine wasn't." Techno chuckled, tears trickling down his face.
"I'm glad that you were the one to kill me, that your hands were the ones which held me as I pass away, thank you so much Dad." Phil gasped, he never expected that one word to come out of his mouth, 'Dad'.
"No, no, no please don't die, you never die." Phil pulled him closer, hugging him tightly, terrified that if he didn't hold him tight enough he would slip out of his hands and fade away.
"Promise me that you would tell Wilbur and Tommy that I loved them." Techno held out his pinky, waiting for Phil to do the same. Phil nodded and they made a pinky promise, not something you'd do while your dying.
"Techno?" Phil whimpered.
No response.
"Please wake up, stop playing around." Phil laughed, he seemed insane. His laughter was soon overtaken by his wails and sobs. Tears ran down his face, the crows distancing themselves from Phil and flying off, leaving him be.
The weather was rather unfitting, it was just the right temperature, not too cold or warm. The sun was still up, slightly blocked by passing clouds but overall, terrible for what had happened.
Techno was officially gone.
His body was cold, all colours from his body was drained away.
Phil stood up, Techno's body cradled close to him.
He took off and flew back home, he vision rather blinded by the tears in his eyes.
He was almost completely covered in blood, his clothes were all soaked in the blood of his adopted son.
Knock. Knock.
"Phil and Techno are back Wilbur!" Tommy excitedly cheered, enthusiastically getting off the couch.
"Then go get the door if your so excited." Wilbur scoffed.
"Your a dick."
"You too."
Twisting the knob, his happy smile faded away.
"I'm sorry I'm so sorry."
Wilbur stared at his brother's lifeless body held in Phil's arm. He was confused, how did he die? Why?
"Phil what the hell happened." Wilbur said in a quiet tone, walking past a scared and confused Tommy towards Phil.
"Who did this to him? I'm going to fucking make sure they suffer." Wilbur yelled, demanding an answer.
Phil sniffled, and took a big breath, his reply not something Wilbur expected.
"I killed him Will."
Wilbur backed away, deeply affected by the saddening news.
"Why?" Tommy whimpered, unable to look away.
"I couldn't let anyone else get hurt."
"So you kill your fucking son? MY twin?" Wilbur snarled at Phil.
"I can't let innocent people get killed."
"BUT YOU JUST DID?" Wilbur yelled at him, aggressively shaking him.
"Will, if he were to be free to do whatever he wanted he could kill so many people." Phil spoke calmly.
"One person? He's my fucking brother and you got rid of the one person left in my actual family. You describe him like he's some monster when he's a fucking human being like us." Sobbing could be heard followed by the sound of the door slamming.
"Am I not your family Will?"
"You were my family." His words felt as sharp as a knife, piercing through Phil's chest.
He felt a pain inside hearing those bitter words come out of his mouth.
"He loved you Will."
"It doesn't excuse the fact that you straight up killed him, you really expect his last words to cheer me up? I couldn't even say goodbye because it was all so sudden." Wilbur said bitterly, leaning against the wall as he tried holding back the tears.
"Look, tomorrow I'll be blocking up the pond area alright? If you want to see him there'll be a door." Wilbur looked away from Phil, not daring to look at his own father who killed his twin.
Phil closed the door. Wilbur finally broke, constantly sniffling as he sat on the floor. Curled up in a ball he wailed and covered his face. He wished he would never have to seen him again but he wanted to.
The day when his brother had first genuinely smiled after going through multiple battles, tiring days and constant voices.
He just wished that he was able to see him smile one more time before he was taken away from him.
...
In the center of the pond was a glass casing was Techno. He seemed so peaceful despite such a brutal and unexpected death. But who was he to complain when it was how many others who encountered him died, brutally and unexpectedly killed.
Flowers were sprinkled around the pond along with torches. Phil blocked off certain places so mobs were unable to easily get through.
While it was still early in the day, Wilbur snuck out of the house.
He walked towards the tall wooden walls and opened the only door, closing it behind him.
Wilbur took off his boots, walking barefoot into the pond. He didn't mind having his clothes get soaked in water already, he just wanted to see Techno.
The very top of the casing was above the surface so it wasn't completely engulfed by the water. The fishes freely swam about as the seagrass around tickled him.
Wilbur was glad Phil took the time to allow Techno to have such a peaceful area but he couldn't forgive his actions.
"Hey Techno." Wilbur whispered, placing his hand on the casing.
Wilbur took his flower crown off, placing it on the top of the casing.
"Since yours has died, here's mine." Wilbur sniffled, trying to wipe away the incoming tears.
"I'll take care of Tommy don't worry, after all he's probably the only thing left by my side. I'll treat him the same way you treated me you know? I'll always care for him and make sure his safe Techno." Wilbur assured the dead body one last time before stepping out of the pond, giving him the peace he finally earned.
