Chapter Text
Tamaki let out a sigh as she finished fixing the neon sign reading Indigo’s Tattoos’. She felt accomplished for finally buying her first tattoo studio and she was beyond proud of the awesome staff working with her. She stepped down from the ladder outside to look at the sign, humming in thought. Did it look okay? Would people show up? Was the sign straight? She shook the anxious thoughts from her head. Today was opening day and she already had enough to worry about.
“Boss!” Kirishima yelled as she made her way towards Tamaki, “ah! Today’s opening day are you excited?!”
Tamaki nodded towards the red headed girl, Kirishima always had a lot more energy than Tamaki was used to, working with her for years had helped her learn how to get out of her own comfort zones. Although she still prefers to stay in. A small sigh left her lips as she clapped her hands together, “Alright, let’s open!”
Kirishima glanced over at the café next door, “You think they’ll be mad we moved next door?”
“Hm? It’s not like they own the whole complex. Besides I had them sound proof walls in case people scream again.” Tamaki sighed softly, “anyways I set up your studio and whenever taishiro gets here she’ll see her piercing studio.” She hummed, fiddling with her lip ring as she walked inside, “oh can you bring the ladder in?”
Kirishima nodded as she closed then grabbed the ladder. Heading inside her eyes widened, “this looks so dope! Where do I put it, boss?”
“In the storage closet over here-“ Tamaki pointed as she opened the door for Kirishima. “Go check out the studio and let me know what you think. I’ll head next door and grab some coffee for us, I guess.”
Mirio fiddled with her long hair, tying it up in a high ponytail as she began opening the café for the day. She had just opened her own café last year, running and working here full time - she hired a few of her close friends to work alongside her. Mirio wasn’t very.. adventurous. She enjoyed predictable things and predictable outcomes; things that had less of a chance to go wrong.
“Gooooood morning!” Izuku yelled out, walking through the door in a happy manner. She flipped the sign to read open before walking towards the counter where Mirio was. “Did you hear about the new shop that opened up beside us?” Izuku asked, putting her bag down and changing into her uniform.
Izuku was extremely outgoing, the opposite of Mirio really. She was scared of absolutely nothing and was a great asset to the company, and herself, always trying to get Mirio to do more adventurous things.
“Mhm,” Mirio hummed, setting up cups, starting up the coffee machines, and opening the cash register. “I don’t know why people love tattoos and piercings so much, so much could go wrong. What if it looks like shit?” She sighed, glancing at Izuku.
“Because it’s fun? You’re so much of a stick in the mud that it makes me think you secretly want one,” Izuku laughed, going to the front windows and opening the curtains.
Mirio rolled her eyes, the sunshine lighting up the room. Too unpredictable.. I would never get one. Right? I mean.. It could be cool. Mirio shook her head, chasing the thoughts away as she poured herself a cup of coffee.
Tamaki had texted taishiro to ask what she wanted from the café before making her way over. She adjusted her black t-shirt nervously before walking into the café. Tamaki took in the two brighter shining people behind the counter. She fiddled with her lip ring nervously before walking up to the counter.
Izuku lifted up an eyebrow, walking to the back to turn on music, leaving Mirio with the customer.
“Hey, welcome, how can I help you-“ Mirio looked up from the counter, her eyes landing on the indigo haired customer. Her words trailed off, her eyes glancing over the tattoos that covered her arms and the piercings that fit her face well. “-Today,” Mirio finished, clearing her throat, embarrassed that she was staring.
Tamaki looked up at the blonde with a soft grin, “Like what you see?” She hummed, “Uh I’ll take iced vanilla latte, white chocolate mocha and black coffee with two sugars please.” She looked from her phone to Mirio.
“I-um sorry! Coming right up!” She squeaked, turning around. She felt a slight blush creep up on her ears. C'mon seriously? Please don’t be noticeable. She started with the mocha, making the latte afterwards. “Izuku, black coffee with two sugars,” she called out, finishing up the mocha.
Izuku hummed as she walked over, making the black coffee as she stood near Mirio, back towards Tamaki. She slightly nudged Mirio, her eyebrows going upwards a few times before turning back to Tamaki and placing the coffee on the counter.
Tamaki looked at Izuku then at Mirio with a small smile, “Hm, thanks. you two work fast.” She hummed softly, looking at the drinks then pulling out her card, “still need to pay cutie.”
Mirio placed all three drinks in a row, in front of Tamaki. Her cheeks turned slightly rosy at Tamaki’s comment, shaking her head and the compliment off right away. She set the machine in front of her, trying to remain professional and keep eye contact.
“Say, do you happen to be the one that moved in next door?” Izuku asked, sipping on a coffee.
“Yup, I'm the owner of Indigo's Tattoo shop.” Tamaki looked at Izuku, “if you’re interested in tattoos there’s me and Kirishima, if you’re looking for piercings Taishiro is the best.” She hummed.
“Hmm, we’ll definitely have to swing by sometime and check it out, eh Mirio?” Izuku smiled, a smirk forming on her face as she took another sip.
“W-we?” Mirio stammered, rubbing her neck. “Totally..” she played it off, sending a glare towards Izuku.
Tamaki raised an eyebrow at Mirios comment, “Hmm.. well, hope to see you around cutie.” She put her card away and grabbed the drinks, heading out.
Mirio pushed Izuku once Tamaki had reached the door, irritated that she would say such things. “What do you think you’re doing??” Mirio squealed.
“I saw the way you looked at her, don’t lie Miri,” Izuku hummed, laughing as she pushed Mirio back. “More adventure, remember?”
Mirio rolled her eyes, angrily taking another sip of coffee. Adventure, my ass.
Tamaki grinned once she saw taishiro and Kirishima, “here’s the coffee, hm is Todoroki still not here for reception?”
“I don’t think so? Maybe she went over to the café before work? But we don’t have anyone scheduled until one anyways.”
Todoroki made her way into the café with a plain expression, “Was Tamaki just here? Oh- um indigo hair? Never mind, I'll have an iced matcha latte.” She spoke.
Izuku glanced over as a customer approached the counter. She walked over, plastering a smile on her face, “Welcome, iced matcha latte coming right up!”
Mirio overheard the order, already making it at the machine.
Izuku lifted an eyebrow up at Todoroki, “Indigo hair? Tamaki? Hm, guess my answer depends on what you’re willing to give for that information-“ Izuku teased, ringing her order up.
Todoroki looked at Izuku confused, “I’ll just pay for my drink, thank you.” She spoke, handing some cash when Izuku said the price. “Keep the change.”
Izuku took the change with a smile, handing her the drink, waiting for her to turn around and go out the door. Once Todoroki walked closer to the door, Izuku turned to Mirio, rolling her eyes. “What’s with everyone today? We need a sign on the door - if you are a stick in the mud, don’t enter,” Izuku sighed.
Mirio laughed, scoffing at Izuku’s comment, “Maybe you’re just annoying.”
Izuku placed a hand over her heart, pretending to take a knife to the chest. “Ouch.”
Todoroki walked over to Indigos tattoo shop with a plain expression. “Tamaki sorry I’m late.”
“Hm? That’s fine no ones called yet.” Tamaki smiled as she nodded, “I take it you met the neighbors, see any cuties?”
“Tamaki I do not… Tamaki I’m not going there to date anyone and neither should you.” Todoroki sighed, sitting behind the counter.
Bakugo ran towards the café, checking her phone for the time, coming to a halt seeing the new tattoo shop. She walked past, glancing at the sign and looking into the window with wide eyes.
Kirishima looked up from her conversation with Todoroki towards the window with a small grin. She caught the blonde's eyes and gave a playful wave.
Bakugo sent a wink, waving back as she made her way into the café. “Sorry I’m late guys,” she huffed - placing her bags down behind the counter. “Hey did you guys see the new girls next door?”
Izuku let out a laugh as Mirio rolled her eyes, letting out a loud sigh.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Bakugo giggled, changing into her uniform. “They’re pretty cute, hm?” Exchanging glances with Izuku.
Mirio threw her hands up in the air, “I can never escape it, I’m in a nightmare,” she sighed, walking to the back room.
Toga gave a bright smile as she walked into the café, “Hmm, what do you recommend for a drink? Or what’s popular?” She looked up at the menu then at the two up front. “I’d watch yourselves with the girls next door. Don’t get involved with them. It’s not your business.” She spoke with a cheerful smile.
Bakugo exchanged a glance with Izuku before turning to Toga. “I recommend the, don’t tell me what to do. . with ice,” she replied, a smile on her face.
“Oh, tough girl hm.. definitely kiris type.” Toga put a finger to her chin in thought, “I’ll have a mocha frappe please and it’ll be your funeral if you do.” She smiled, giving a small laugh.
Kirishima quickly walked into the café with a sour expression, “Toga! Get your ass to the studio now.” She spat, watching the smaller blonde pout and walk off. “S-sorry about her! Bye.” She quickly spoke, leaving shortly afterwards.
They watched the two leave quickly, Toga forgetting her drink. Bakugo smiled wickedly, turning to Izuku. “Things around here just got a whole lot more interesting.”
