“It’s like every time I think you can’t get worse, you do something worse!”
“…Sorry…”
Ladybug didn’t MEAN to break into Lila’s house.
Well-
Look. She was patrolling as Ladybug when she heard this - screaming - you could call it? It didn’t matter. It was a very loud human like noise. And it was terrifying.
So of course she had to check it out, right?
She narrowed it down to an apartment building, and used her heightened sense of hearing due to the miraculous to trace which apartment the screeching noise was coming from.
Ladybug anxiously rang the doorbell and no one answered. Again. No one.
Again!
No one. The screeching continued.
She called a Lucky Charm just to be safe, a door rammer?
Oh.
She really did not want to use that, so she tried to kick the door down first.
To say it ‘hurt’ was an understatement. Her leg was searing in pain, it looked like using the charm was a must.
She needed to figure out what that noise was, and help someone potentially in danger.
She took charge and used the rammer.
As soon as the door hit the ground, there was a loud scream (?) yet the noise continued. Two people, maybe?
The apartment looked normal. The kitchen had some food sitting out, and the living room had a blanket on the couch.
The noise only got louder as she traversed the home. There was speaking.
“Oh my god! Shut up! Please!” A rather familiar voice whispered.
Ladybug found herself at three doors, which she assumed to be two bedrooms and a bathroom. She put her head up to them all and chose the one to the left, where the noise was loudest.
Okay. Here she went. Into the room. With the noise.
For the first time, she actually felt a little scared.
The door creaked awfully as it opened, and Ladybug audibly gasped when she saw who was inside.
Lila and… a bird..?
It was a colorful macaw, perched to be face to face with Lila. The noise stopped, finally.
It was the freaking bird.
The bird was doing a rather horrifically loud… mating call? Apparently?
“Ladybug?”
Lila was wearing sweatpants and a tank top - and she was telling the bird to quiet down.
It made sense. Kind of?
“Lila? Is that noise from.. your bird..? I didn’t know you had one?” Ladybug said as she awkwardly put her hands behind her back.
“Yes, it’s from my bird. Did you break into my fucking house?” Ladybug was taken aback from the language Lila used, but if she was in her place she probably would have had the same reaction.
The macaw looked into Ladybug’s eyes and she swore it was judging her entire existence. “Err… sorry… I’ll be on my way now!” She was going to leave when she remembered the Lucky Charm in her hand. It was rather huge and heavy, she only forgot about it due to the sheer shock of what she had witnessed.
“Did you bust my door down?”
There was a long pause. “Yes. Yes I did.” Ladybug smiled sheepishly.
The bird started screeching again as Lila shoved Ladybug out of her room.
“Please do your razzle bedazzle Miraculous Ladybug thing and fix the door. My mom will murder me.” Ladybug had to giggle at her word choice, and the way Lila looked genuinely worried. “I will, not to worry.”
“Miraculous Ladybug!”
The door was back on its hinges where it belonged, and Lila opened it to show Ladybug out. “Never come here again.”
“Noted!” Lila slammed the door in Ladybug’s face. Eh. She kind of deserved it.
At least now she knew what that noise was.
