6 years is a long time to forget someone.
For Wade, he never forgot about him. He could never forget about the one person in the world who didn't treat him like a piece of shit, Peter treated him like he was the center of his universe but Peter was gone. Wade would get him back. He would get him to remember.

Hydra and Weapon X teamed up and broke Peter down, brainwashing him to completion so he forgot so many things but there was something that would never go away.
