Chapter Text
As all tragedies go, it began with a normal day.
It's only seven thirty on a Saturday morning, but the gym lights are buzzing with the same intensity as the boys who play under it's glow. Hinata is sulking in the corner as he bumps the ball on his forearms, disappointed that he didn't win the daily race to the gym battle of life and death even though Kageyama mentioned that he would be slightly late for practice because of an early errand (he'd left his bag in the gym the night before to ensure his victory).
Ennoshita is freaking out with an expression of absolute composure, but his face is an unhealthy sheen of white (maybe grey) and sweat dots his hairline even though the weather is on the cool side today. Kinoshita and Narita attempt to bring him through some breathing exercises.
Tanaka and Noya are quietly tossing a ball to each other (and hence the source of Ennoshita's distress).
Suga is timing himself to see how many times he can punch Asahi in the sternum in one minute while eating a pork bun with his foot, again.
Asahi is comatose.
Tsukishima has his headphones over his ears, head nodding to some unheard beat as he ties his shoelaces. Yamaguchi slides over on his butt to the discarded ipod connected to said headphones and yanks out the cord.
Heavy metal rings out in the gym and everyone including Yamaguchi startles. The only one who is oblivious to it all is Tsukishima who continues to nod.. off-beat. It's successful in waking Asahi up, though.
All in all, everything is well in Daichi's kingdom (if he closes one eye and leaves the other open just a fraction). But there's a sense of foreboding in his gut that he hasn't been able to ignore since stepping foot into the gym today.
Kageyama isn't here yet, so it's unlikely that Hinata would end up in the volleyball cart in the next thirty seconds.
Tanaka and Noya are suspiciously quiet, but Ennoshita has it covered.
"TANAKA! NISHINOYA!"
"But we're not doing anything!"
"EXACTLY!"
Daichi has taught him well.
The feeling doesn't go away, even when the hour hand hits eight. Perhaps it's because Coach Ukai and Takeda sensei aren't here yet, and neither of their managers too-
The gym door suddenly opens to reveal Kageyama standing in the doorway, holding a cuboid object in his hand. It causes all activity in the gym to come to a halt, only the sound of rubber balls tapping against the ground as they turn to look at him in unison.
It's Suga who breaks the silence, voicing their unspoken question.
"What's that?"
"I found it outside the gym." Kageyama frowns down at the package, wrapped with pink glitter paper and adorned with a large obnoxious yellow bow. "It's a little heavy."
Daichi steps forward to take it, and begins tearing off the paper as the setter attempts to dust the glitter off his hands, to no avail. The rest of the team inches towards the centre of the gym, trying not to look curious with various degrees of success.
He blinks at the object in his hands, pink paper and glitter settling around his ankles.
"It's a book."
"And it's called…" Suga leans over to peek at the book cover that seems to have rendered their stoic captain speechless.
"Georganna Peach Bluebell and the boys of Karasuno… a Haikyuu fanfiction by VolayballPrincess87."
"What the hell is fanfiction?"
"And what the hell is Haikyuu fanfiction?"
“If you split it into fan and fiction… it’s a story about fans?”
"Doesn't Haikyuu mean volleyball?"
"It's volleyball in Japanese."
"That's what I said-"
"But aren't we speaking Japanese?"
"Wait.. we're not?"
"What language are we speaking then?!"
"Am I not Japanese?!"
"Does that mean I can't play on the Japan’s National Team-"
"That's all you can think about?!"
"Everyone shut up!" Daichi yells, finally finding his voice again as the sound of the fourth wall breaking echoes in the distance.
"Where did this come from?" Suga flips the book over in his hands, eyes scanning the back cover.
"I found it outside the gym. It was just lying in the middle of the walkway."
"We would have seen it if it was placed there the night before." It all seems very strange, even as he tries to run through the list of people who could have done this-- inclusive of those in the club, but everyone here seems equally puzzled.
"What kind of name is Georganna Peach Bluebell anyway?"
"Sounds like a princess's name."
"She spelled volleyball wrong."
"Maybe the author left it here for us, as a gift?"
"How would you know?"
"I mean… the title does say the boys of Karasuno."
"I just felt a chill run down my spine."
"Does it have a summary or- Suga-san? Are you alright?"
The silver-haired setter is still staring at the back cover of the book, completely frozen.
"Suga?" Daichi steps closer to the vice-captain. "Suga, what's wrong?"
Suga looks up and stares at him straight in the eye.
"Yes."
"Uh.. what?"
He shoves the book back into Daichi's chest. "Gotta pee, be back in a minute. Or two. Or ten. Maybe never." And sprints out of the gym.
Even Suga is shaken. Daichi wonders exactly what atrocity he's seen, he isn't sure he wants to find out.
"What's the big deal?" Tanaka clears a path through the group of volleyball players to take the book from Daichi. He turns to the back and clears his throat.
"It says here.. Georganna Peach Bluebell is a poor girl that has been bullied all her life, by her parents, her friends, her teachers, her principal, her boyfriend, her ex-boyfriend.. wow this is a long list - her sister, her brother, her grandpa, her grandma, her neighbours, her pets, her country, the whole world. Everyone hates her because she is the most beautiful girl the universe has ever seen and they're all super jealous of her. One day, Georganna Peach Bluebell runs away from home crying and ends up in Karasuno's gym where she meets twelve hot volleyball boys, and they all fall in love with her - including the brooding hot first-year setter and the cute other older setter with the cute mole. Who will she choose in the end? Will she find true love? Read to find out - exclamation mark, exclamation mark, exclamation mark, exclamation mark-"
The gym is dead silent for the next eight seconds.
"What."
"Damn Kageyama, brooding hot setter-"
"Shut up!"
"No wonder Suga freaked out." Asahi murmurs, casting a worried glance at the gym doors.
"So what are we waiting for?"
Everyone turns to stare at the tiny middle-blocker.
"Let's read it!"
"Hinata I don't think that's a good idea.." Ennoshita tries.
"But I wanna know if George Peach Blueberry-"
"Georganna Peach Bluebell."
"Whatever her name is - I wanna know if she falls in love with the brooding hot first-year setter!" Nishinoya exclaims.
"I'd rather not." Kageyama looks like he wants to run out of the gym, and that's saying a lot because it’s Kageyama.
He feels a twinge of pity for his kouhai, but his curiosity wins out eventually and he nods slowly when the rest of the team turns to look at him with puppy-dog eyes (while Kageyama desperately shakes his head).
It'll be a good resource to get back at Suga for shoving a burger down his shirt the other day.
"Tanaka- would you do the honours?"
The team member with the strongest mental fortitude closes his eyes, breathing in deeply. When he opens them they're filled with unbreakable steel, his expression one of determination and concentration.
"Let's do this."
He flips open to page one.
Georganna Peach Bluebell and the boys of Karasuno
A Haikyuu!! fanfiction by
VolayballPrincess87
Georganna Peach Bluebell is the most beautiful girl the universe has ever borne witness to, except they can’t, because her beauty is so radiant it blinds the eyes of those who look upon her face.
(“It’s the first line and I’m ready to puke.”)
(“Shush child.”)
She has golden hair as bright as the sun, which dances in the wind and smells of fresh flowers in the spring. It touches the floor as she walks, and every girl in the country would die to have hair like that. Her eyes are a gorgeous shade of purple and they glitter even in the darkest of nights.
(“Isn’t that a little unhygienic? Her hair touching the floor, I mean.”)
(“You should know this Asahi-san!”)
(“My hair isn’t that long Noya.”)
(“Purple.. eyes...?”)
(“They glow in the dark too.”)
(“That sounds mildly terrifying.”)
(“Agreed.”)
(“Can I continue with the story?!”)
As mentioned earlier, because she is the most beautiful girl in the universe, everyone is extremely jealous of her beauty and her kindness that shines through no matter what she does. She is constantly bullied by her friends in class who call her names, and the teachers torture her with homework and exams.
“It’s too much!” Georganna Peach Bluebell cries, but everyone ignores her and simply continue to give her even more homework!
(“Dude, everyone gets homework. You’re not the only one.”)
(“You complain just as much though.”)
One day, her mother and father tell her that she is too beautiful to stay with them.
“I must be the prettiest woman in the village!” Her evil mother exclaims. “That’s why you need to leave and never come back!”
“But it’s not my fault that I’m so beautiful!” Georganna Peach Bluebell sobs.
“Get out of the house!” Her father shouts, and she becomes afraid so she packs her meagre belongings - some clothes, her unicorn toy, some blueberry cupcakes, water, her iphoneX (“What’s that?”) into a pink bag before she flees the house.
It starts raining heavily the moment she steps out of the house and she cries harder. Her golden hair and her dress is soaking wet and she is tired, cold and hungry, with nowhere to go and nowhere to stay.
(“Good. Now stay that way.”)
(“Kageyama!”)
She can’t see where she is going as she runs through the rain, and she keeps running in any random direction when suddenly she ends up in a big gym.
“W-where am I?” Georganna Peach Bluebell whispers, her voice soft and weak with cold.
She hears a gasp from nearby and she turns to see a boy with dark hair, wearing a volleyball jersey with the number one on it. She glances down slightly to see that he has VERY MUSCULAR THIGHS.
(“CAPTAIN VERY MUSCULAR THIGHS SAWAMURA DAICHI!”)
(“TANAKA! NISHINOYA! TWENTY LAPS AROUND THE GYM!”)
(“But I’m reading the story!”)
(“Fair enough..”)
His eyes are wide as he beholds the beauty of the girl before him. Even though she is wet and shivering and not wearing her nicest dress (the pink one with the hearts), she is still very pretty Daichi thinks.
But she seems afraid now and she shrinks back from him when he steps forward. He puts on his most comforting smile.
“Hi, what’s your name?”
“M-my name is Georganna Peach Bluebell.”
(“IF I HAVE TO SAY GEORGANNA PEACH BLUEBELL ONE MORE TIME-”)
(“Just carry on with the story!”)
“That’s… that’s a beautiful name. Befitting for a beautiful girl like you.”
Georganna Peach Bluebell blushes, and she becomes even prettier and cuter. “T-thank you.”
“My name is Sawamura Daichi, and I am the captain of Karasuno’s volleyball club.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Daichi.” She says politely.
“Here, let’s get you some new, dry clothes and some hot chocolate.” He leads her to the club room which is just opposite the gym and helps her up the stairs, but she slips and falls on the tenth step since it is slippery with rain water.
“Ouch!” She shouts, as her ankle flares with pain.
“Are you okay?” Daichi asks, worry evident in his dark brown eyes.
“Yes, just a little sprain.” Yet she whimpers even as the wind blows, jostling her leg.
“It looks serious.” He frowns. “I will need to carry you up the stairs.”
(“Hooo boy.”)
(“I think I might be allergic to this fanfiction thing.”)
He picks her up easily, his arms just as muscular as his legs, and carries her bridal style into the club room.
“You’re very strong Daichi.” She murmurs, burying her nose into the crook of his shoulder.
Daichi’s cheeks turn red, he’s never carried such a beautiful girl in his arms before and his heart pounds. Her purple eyes gaze up at him, eyelashes fluttering against her pale skin. I want to kiss her, Daichi thinks.
(“Already?!”)
(“They just met two minutes ago!”)
(“Wow Daichi, taking advantage of a poor injured girl cradled in your muscular arms-”)
(“It’s FICTION!”)
Their faces are so close, mere inches from each other, and her full pink lips are irresistible in the sun’s glow. He leans down slowly, gently, his own lips parting and his eyes fall shut.
The door to the club room suddenly swings open to reveal Suga.
“SUGA! NO!”
“What?” The real Suga blinks owlishly at them from the entrance to the gym.
“YOU JUST RUINED THE MOMENT!”
“DAICHI WAS GONNA KISS GEORGIA PLUM BLUETOOTH-”
“GEORGANNA PEACH BLUEBELL!”
“Y-you guys are actually reading it?” He looks ready to back out of the gym once more.
“It’s pretty interesting.”
“It’s great!”
“Someone kill me.”
“You should probably make sure the only other crow parent hasn’t lost his sanity yet.” Ennoshita says pointing to Daichi who looks like he’s trying to be one with the floor. He’s not quite ready to inherit the title of Captain just yet.
Suga wearily sits down beside the ailing captain, casting a quick glance at Asahi who looks like he’s gone to hell and back. “What did I miss?”
“Not much.” Tsukishima says just as Hinata launches into a rapid-fire recap.
“Please continue with the story Tanaka.”
“Actually, that was the end of the first chapter.”
...
“There’s.. more...?”
“How many?” Kageyama croaks.
Tanaka flips back to the content page, and the blood drains from his face.
“... fifty four.”

~Previously on Georganna Peach Bluebell and the boys of Karasuno~
“You’re very strong Daichi.” She murmurs, burying her nose into the crook of his shoulder.
("..do we really have to read the recap?")
("Yes.")
Daichi’s cheeks turn red, he’s never carried such a beautiful girl in his arms before and his heart pounds. Her purple eyes gaze up at him, eyelashes fluttering against her pale skin. I want to kiss her, Daichi thinks.
Their faces are so close, mere inches from each other, and her full pink lips are irresistible in the sun’s glow. He leans down slowly, gently, his own lips parting and his eyes fall shut.
The door to the club room suddenly swings open to reveal Suga.
~End of recap~
NOW ONTO THE STORY!!!!!!!!!
"Suga!" Daichi yelps, startled by the sudden appearance of the setter and sounding a bit like a girl. He almost drops the poor Georganna Peach Bluebell.
"Daichi! You almost dropped me!" She scolds, crossing her arms over her ("Asahi, cover Hinata's ears.") very ample chest.
"I'm truly sorry my dear Georganna." Daichi says, his cheeks red and flustered.
She turns to look at the other boy staring at them from the doorway. He is a little shorter than the captain, with pale skin and grey hair. She thought that only old men have grey hair, but the person has a super cute mole on his cheek which makes up for the old man hair.
("B-but it's silver…")
("They're the same thing Suga, I've been telling you for years-")
("They are not!")
He shoots a kind smile at her, he usually only saves his kindest smiles for the people he loves most, and something about the beautiful girl before him makes his heart leap.
“Georganna was it?”
She smiles back, and it's even more radiant and kinder than his.
“Georganna Peach Bluebell.”
“It's a pretty name.”
“That's what I said.” Daichi says, looking a little jealous.
She climbs down from his arms gracefully despite her hurting ankle and the two third-years can't help but be taken aback once more. Suga steps forward to introduce himself.
“My name is-”
“I already know who you are.” Georganna smiles sweetly. “Sugawara Koushi.”
Suga's eyes widen in shock. “That's my name! But how?”
She sends him a wink that makes them swoon again. “I'm just really smart.”
("No shame… no shame at all.")
("Sounds like some people we know…")
("Who?")
("Carry on Tanaka, carry on.")
The two boys help her slowly into the club room, sitting her on a bench and making sure that she was comfortable. They wrap a towel around her shoulders and give her a cushion to sit on. Her ankle still hurts alot, but Georganna still smiles through the pain.
While Daichi goes off to find some hot chocolate, Suga opens the med kit and begins to wrap bandages around the swollen ankle. He can't help but let his fingers brush against the skin of her ankle, finding it silky smooth like satin. Even her ankles are beautiful, Suga thinks to himself.
("Kinky.")
("TSUKISHIMA!")
(*sniff* "We've taught him well, Ryuu.")
("You taught me nothing.")
“Is this better?” The grey-haired (“Silver!”) setter whispers when he’s done with the bandages.
“Yes, thank you Suga.”
“You are most welcome.” His cheeks flush a bright pink upon being on the receiving end of her cute smile and Georganna giggles, knowing that the boy found her really cute.
“I… I actually have something for you.” He mumbles shyly, still knelt at her feet.
“What is it?”
His cheeks turn redder and he presses a light kiss against her knee.
(“Kink-knee.”)
(“YAMAGUCHI!”)
(*sniff* “Noya-san, our children are growing up so fast.”)
(“What are you teaching them?!”)
“Does it feel better now? My mom used to do it all the time when I fall down.”
“It does, thank you.” Georganna giggles again, liking the sensation of the setter’s soft lips against her knee. Daichi then comes back with the hot chocolate, interrupting the sweet moment between them.
Taking the mug, she sips the drink slowly, knowing that the two boys were enjoying the view. "Did you make this Daichi-san?"
"N-no. It was actually Kageyama, he made hot chocolate for everyone this morning."
"Kageyama…" she murmurs. The name rolls off her tongue like she's known him since forever and she sighs dreamily, excited to meet the boy who must have made this hot chocolate just for her.
When she's done, they leave the club room and enter the gym, where the rest of the team is practicing. The moment she steps through the doors, everyone stops whatever they're doing to fix their gaze upon the beautiful girl that now graced their presence.
"Why aren’t you guys practicing?!" Coach Ukai shouts, not noticing the gorgeous Georganna behind him (stupid old man).
"WHY AREN’T YOU GUYS PRACTICING?!"
"COACH!"
"STUPID OLD MAN!"
"WHAT?!"
Suga slams a hand across Tanaka's mouth. "Uh- nothing!"
Ukai narrows his eyes at the twelve boys huddled in the middle of the gym, or more accurately, piled on top of Tanaka and something in his lap. He stalks towards them and they shrink back, desperately trying to shove the thing under Asahi's butt as Takeda, Kiyoko and Yachi follow closely behind him.
"Care to explain why all of you are sitting together having a slumber party when Nationals are just around the corner?"
"W-we.. um." Daichi's face is redder than usual and he's tripping over his words - which only happens when he's especially nervous or embarrassed. Usually his vice-captain will be there to support him during these moments but he's currently out of commission, blinking slowly into the distance.
He turns to Asahi who's sweating buckets and sitting slightly taller than usual. "Asahi, give it to me."
Nishinoya jumps to his feet. "Ha! What book? I see no book in sight sir! And definitely nothing underneath Asahi's butt! Nothing to see there! No siree! Asahi-san stop being so obvious!"
Book? Ukai short-circuits for a second. He was expecting a toy or a PSP of some sort, but a book?
“Asahi-”
“Azumane-kun.” The gentle voice that could only belong to Takeda pops up from beside him. He smiles warmly at the ace whose defenses were obviously breaking down rapidly. “Could you hand over the book please.”
Asahi swallows and immediately pulls out a large book with a hot-pink cover much to the disappointment (and relief?) of the rest of the team. Ukai should really learn how to do that.
“What is this?” The teacher wonders aloud as he scans the book, albeit painfully due to the glaring pink of the cover.
“Georganna Peach Bluebell… and the boys of Karasuno?”
“Who is VolayballPrincess87?”
“And what’s fanfiction?”
They all turn to Yachi who has gone very still and very red.
“Uhh- i-it’s-- um…”
“What is it Yachi?”
The blonde squeaks. “I-it’s fiction… written by fans of a television show or storybook, and usually featuring characters from that TV show or storybook.”
“S-so… we’re storybook characters?”
“That can’t be! I’m a real person!”
“Ha- can you imagine? Being some manga character and even getting animated into an anime!”
Ukai claps loudly and the gym goes quiet once more. “Okay enough with the existential crises. Everyone start stretching - since I’m pretty sure none of you have - and run ten laps. We’ve got a lot to do today.”
“B-but Coach-”
“Yes Hinata.”
“Giraffe Porch Bombshell-”
“GEORGANNA PEACH BLUEBELL DAMNIT!”
“-she said that.. you are… you are a…”
“I am a what?”
“A… a…”
“Don’t say it!”
“Hinata no!”
“What did she say?!”
“HINATA-”
“She said that you are a STUPID OLD MAN!”
.
.
.
“Now listen.” The whole team, Ukai, Takeda, Kiyoko and Yachi included, sit in a circle in the middle of the gym.
“I’m only allowing this because-”
“To look for and record evidence of verbal assault yes we got it.”
"Ahem." Ukai opens the page back to where they left off and begins to read.
"Why are you guys not practicing?!" Coach Ukai shouts, not noticing the gorgeous Georganna behind him ( ___ ).
(“Aren’t you missing something Coach?”)
(“Quiet!”)
“Please forgive them Coach, they must still be processing my presence and beauty.”
At this, he finally turns around to gape as Georganna Peach Bluebell sashays into the room, her long hair flowing out behind her and filling the stinky gym with the scent of peaches and bluebells. It was how she got her name after all.
The gym is so quiet that you can hear a pin drop. Georganna makes eye contact with all the boys inside, enchanting them one by one with her sparkling purple eyes. Even Hinata who is always crazy about volleyball finds himself crazy for Georganna.
“W-who are you?” One of the boys ask.
“My name is Georganna Peach Bluebell.”
“That’s a beautiful name.”
“We already said that!” Daichi and Suga exclaim.
“Everyone, let’s all introduce ourselves to this lovely lady over here.” Takeda sensei announces before leaning in to whisper to Ukai. “I’m thirty years old, but even I am enamoured by her beauty.”
(“I’m a teacher! I don’t think about things like that! It’s against my morals! My values! My principles-")
(“We know Takeda-sensei. It’s fanfiction, you’ll get used to it.”)
The orange-haired boy bounds forward first. “Hello! I’m Hinata Shouyou! Do you want to play volleyball with us?!”
“Nice to meet you Hinata, I would love to play with you!” Georganna laughs at the small boy’s enthusiasm, though he is a little too short for her tastes.
(“Hah?! Did she just call me short?!”)
(“Don’t worry Shouyou! She doesn’t know how high you can jump, you're still our awesome middle blocker!”)
(“Thanks Noya-senpai!”)
("Of course! And it's totally okay to be short-")
“I’m Nishinoya Yuu!” Exclaims the libero who is even shorter than Hinata. She doesn’t like short guys. Ew!
(“THIS BITC-”)
(“NISHINOYA! LANGUAGE!”)
(“..beech. Beech tree.”)
His best friend comes over to sling an arm over his shoulder, laughing noisily. "I'm Tanaka Ryuunosuke! The up and coming ace!" Georganna smiles at him politely even though bald boys are kinda weird.
("BALD BOYS ARE THE SEXIEST! AREN'T WE NARITA?!")
("HECK YEAH!")
("Damn I've never seen Narita this excited before.")
("...you have no idea. Especially when it comes to Digimon.")
Tsukishima is the next to step forward. He usually doesn't bother with such things but Georganna is an exception, her unfathomable gorgeousness managing to melt his cold heart. "I'm Tsukishima Kei."
"You have blond hair! Just like me!" Georganna giggles adorably.
"Not as golden and silky as yours, but it's an honour to be even compared to your greatness." Tsukishima says, blushing very hard.
("Man, the day I see Tsukishima blush-")
("I would have to kill you.")
("... that turned dark.")
Another boy with freckles steps forward shyly, his cheekbones tinged with pink just like his taller blond friend. "I'm Yamaguchi." He says softly and he's kinda cute Georganna thinks, especially his freckles.
("NO ONE - AND I MEAN NO ONE TOUCHES YAMAGUCHI!")
("THE CHILD IS TO BE PROTECTED FROM THIS ATROCITY OF A PEACH!")
("Uh.. thanks?")
A man comes up to introduce himself as well. He is tall and muscular which is totally her type but his long hair and beard make him look like a thirty year old. "H-hi! I'm Asahi."
("D-do I really look that old?")
("N-no! Of course not!")
("... Nishinoya, are you lying?")
("Me? Lie? Never!")
("Noya! Your nose-!")
Then the other three second-years introduce themselves. Next up-
("... I'm feeling a little forgotten.")
("This feels canon.")
("ENNOSHITA! KINOSHITA! NARITA! WE WILL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOU GUYS!")
("YOU ARE WANTED!")
("YOU ARE CHERISHED!")
("YOU ARE LOVED!")
("O-oh wow..")
("Thanks guys.")
("TEAM HUG!")
(*hugs*)
Next up, the two adults in the room come forward. “I’m Takeda sensei, the teacher in charge of the volleyball club.” Takeda says.
“I’m Ukai Keishin, the coach.” Ukai mumbles, unable to meet her gaze.
The manager of the team is the last to introduce herself. Kiyoko is quite pretty, but even her prettiness cannot be compared to that of Georganna and she can only stare helplessly at the true beauty before her in jealousy. Even Tanaka and Nishinoya have stopped chasing after Kiyoko and have turned their attention and worship to Georganna who is obviously prettier.
("KIYOKO-SAN! WE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!")
("OUR LOYALTY AND LOVE BELONG SOLELY TO YOU!")
("HOW DARE SHE THINK HERSELF WORTHY TO EVEN STAND IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOU-")
(*THWACK*)
("Peace, at last.")
("Thank you Ennoshita.")
("You're welcome Kiyoko-san.")
("Hey, why is there only one manager? How about Yachi?")
("Ah- it's alright! I don't have to be in the story!")
("NOOOO YACHI!")
("YOU'RE IMPORTANT TOO!")
("WITHOUT YOU, ME AND BAKAGEYAMA WOULD HAVE FAILED OUR EXAMS!")
("WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY HINATA-BOKE?!")
("EYEEURGHHH KAGEYAMA RAMPAGE MODE!")
("COME BACK HERE YOU BAK-")
(*THWACK*)
("Peace is merely a concept, not reality.")
“Is that everyone?” Georganna asks, peering around the gym. “Oh, yes! There is one more person, I think I mentioned him just now.” Dachi says.
“His name is-”
The gym doors burst open and sunlight comes streaming in, creating golden patches on the floor. But it’s not the sun! Georganna realises.
It is Kageyama Tobio who stands in the doorway, his face so radiant it resembles the morning sun and the moon at the same time. His eyes are a deep blue, as blue as the oceans and the skies with specks of white that glitter when he lays his eyes on Georganna. His hair is as black as night, the inky strands nearly as silky and soft as Georganna’s own golden ones, the two colours complementing one another perfectly like they were meant to be. His skin is as pale as freshly fallen snow, enhancing the blush on his cheeks that are reminiscent of the cherry blossoms in the spring. His nose is the perfect size and shape, sharp like the cheekbones that embellish his extremely, undeniably handsome face. His lips are soft and plump like the first borne fruits of the season, teeth a pearly white. The shells of his ears are as delicate as paper, the ends sharp and pointed like an elf’s and giving him an ethereal look. His jawline is pronounced and perfectly suits his long slender neck, sitting on a pair of broad, muscular shoulders. His razor-sharp and sleek collarbones peeks out just slightly above the neck-line of his jersey, and his oesophagus-
(“Uh coach.”)
(“I don’t think Kageyama’s breathing.”)
(“What?! Since when?!”)
(“At some point between the nose and the cheekbones-”)
(“GET THE MED KIT!”)
(“Damn, it even describes his kidneys.”)
(“Both of them.”)
(“What does a buttery smooth pancreas even mean?!”)

I shudder every time I write the fanfiction in this fanfiction
thank you for reading and showing this fic a little love :>

(“Hey coach, you're not gonna continue reading that really long paragraph about Kageyama?”)
(“I don’t really want to have to perform CPR again.”)
(“But it could be important to the story!”)

(“Whyyyyyyyyy?”)
(“... if I do, I will no longer be allowed to coach.”)

Chapter 3
Kageyama Tobio is a normal high school boy with a tremendous passion for volleyball. He’s been playing since he was a child and it’s the thing he looks forward to the most everyday. However, he’s always felt like something was missing from his life, like a second half, and in between his busy schedule he can be found staring off into the horizon, waiting for someone to complete him.
Even volleyball and his team weren’t enough to satisfy him. He had girls throwing themselves at him every second of the day, but none of them caught his attention or made his heart flutter. All of them were just dumb and ugly but thought they were super pretty, and they all wanted Kageyama as their boyfriend. But he rejected all of them, because he was sure that they weren’t the one for him.
Today, as he makes his way towards the Karasuno gym for afternoon practice, he feels a weird stirring in his cold heart. Something tells him… that something was going to happen to him… or rather… someone.
(“I wonder who.”)
(“NO TSUKISHIMA DON’T SPOIL IT!”)
(“... I’m surrounded by idiots.”)
A scent tickles his nose and he stops in his tracks immediately. He takes a second whiff, and his nostrils fill with the sweet scent of peaches and bluebells.
That’s strange, Kageyama thinks. He quickens his steps and is startled to find that there are no sounds coming from the inside of the gym. It’s completely silent. “Something must have happened!” He says to himself as he runs forward and flings the gym doors open.
The moment he looks inside, his jaw drops and he gives a loud gasp.
There’s a girl there - and not just any girl or the managers - but the most beautiful girl he has ever laid his eyes on. Her golden hair nearly blinds him, and her crystal clear violet eyes unravel every part of him, making him feel bare and exposed. Soft cherry lips and a light blush colours her face, and for the first time in Kageyama’s life, his heart begins to beat.
(“Wait so… he was dead before he met her?”)
He’s never felt so alive.
(“Well that answers it.”)
“Are you… Kageyama Tobio?”
Her voice - it sounds like silver bells tinkling softly in the breeze. It’s something he knows he will never grow tired of. His heart rate speeds up as he opens his mouth to answer.
“Yes, that’s me.”
Suddenly he feels a tingling sensation on his wrist and he looks down. To his shock, peaches and little blue flowers start to appear on his skin, along with a name in gold print: Georganna Peach Bluebell.
He gasps, and hears the girl that must be Georganna Peach Bluebell gasp as well. She’s staring down at her wrist too where volleyballs and milk cartons are spreading across the pale skin.
It must be - they must be -
“Suga-san! What’s that on their arms?!” Hinata exclaims.
“They are soulmate marks!” Suga says with wonder. “Which means…”
“We’re soulmates!” Kageyama can’t believe his eyes.
(“What the hell.”)
“Kageyama-kun.” The quiet whisper of his name sends sparks up and down his spine and he turns to see Georganna walking slowly towards him. The distance between them shortens with every step they take, and before he knows it, she’s right in front of him. Up close, she’s a full head shorter than him, which is his ideal height for a girlfriend. And of course she looks even more beautiful.
“Georganna…” He takes one of her dainty hands in his and feels tears well up. “I’ve finally found you.”
“No, I’ve found you.” Pearls of tears are also making their way down Georganna’s face. Even though she’s crying, everyone in the room thinks that they’ve never seen her in a more beautiful state.
Pressed against his chest, the beautiful girl never thought she could feel so safe and secure, wishing she could stay there forever. She looks up into midnight blue orbs and shivers when her gaze lands upon those soft lips.
“C-can I…” The young boy stutters, cheeks dusted with pink. Georganna giggles, feeling a blush climb up as well.
“I would love that.”
That’s all the confirmation Kageyama needs before he’s swooping in towards her marshmallow-soft mouth. They’re mouths i-interlock… and u-uh… her hands come up to grip his neck while his cup the - erm - s-sides of her face. Their teeth c-click together and their - ohgawd - their t-t-tongues swirl together like a fruit blender-
(“Yamaguchi! Are you okay?!”)
(“Y-yeah! N-no p-p-problem-”)
(“How many times do I have to remind you not to say you’re okay when you’re clearly not? Let me take this-”)
(“T-Tsukki…”)
(“Hey uh Tsukishima, could you skip over the parts with the… um… kissing?”)
(“Kageyama’s gonna faint again.”)
(“I-I’m not!”)
(“Yes coach.”)
(*flip*)
(*flip*)
(*flip*)
(*flip*flip*flip*flip*flip*)
(“Um.”)
(*flip*flip*flip*flip*flip*flip*flip*flip*)
(“Ah.”)
(“Holy- how many pages was that?”)
(“I don’t know whether to be impressed or disgusted that she managed to write a sixteen page make out scene.”)
… they pull apart, faces flushed and breathing heavy, their eyes half-lidded as they stare lovingly at each other. The rest of the team stare at the pair in envy, but they can’t help but feel happiness and pride for the two reconnected souls.
“Alright,” Coach Ukai says, clapping his hands. “Let’s get back to practice.”
“Ukai! Don’t spoil the moment!” Takeda scolds lightly as he gazes fondly at Kageyama and Georganna.
“I really don’t want to, but the competition is coming up and we really need to work on our receives,” Ukai sighs.
“You’re right,” Takeda says and reluctantly gathers the team. (Oh and plus Yachi too cuz I totally forgot about her whoopsies!)
(“HOW DARE SHE!”)
(“THE AUDACITY!”)
(“Guys! It’s alright! I - I guess I’m in the story now? Yay?”)
(“I’M GONNA SHOVE HER BULLSHI- I MEAN BULLFAECES UP HER NON-EXISTENT AS-”)
(“G-guys?! Kiyoko-san! Please tell them they don’t have to-”)
(“Do you have your phone with you?”)
(“U-um, yes?”)
(“Help me search up this VolayballPrincess87 and find out where she stays. Please.” *knuckles cracking*)
(“K-kiyoko-san?!”)
“Okay so, we’re gonna have a practice match now. Daichi, Tanaka, Kinoshita, Sugawara, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima - you’re on one team. The rest on the other.”
“Yes coach!”
“Kiyoko and Yachi, you two will be keeping score.”
“Yes coach!”
“Wait, what about Georganna?” Kageyama asks as he pulls Georganna closer to his side.
“Hmmm, I guess she can keep score as well-”
“But we don’t have enough players on our team!” Hinata exclaims in distress. “Narita-san went home early because of a medical appointment, so we only have five players!”
Ukai frowns. “Then we can’t play six-on-six. Let’s switch to four-on-four-”
“Georganna can play on my team!”
The gym goes silent once more as everyone turns to look at Georganna and Kageyama.
“I actually used to play volleyball,” Georganna says shyly, tucking a golden strand behind her ear. “My coach and all my teammates told me I am very talented.”
(“And now she can play volleyball too! Wonderful!”)
“That’s perfect!” Ukai says grinning. “Georganna, you can play on Kageyama’s team in Narita’s place.”
Looking at each other excitedly, Kageyama and Georganna take their place on one side of the net together with Hinata, Nishinoya, Asahi and Ennoshita.
“I’ll definitely toss to you,” Kageyama whispers as he squeezes her hand.
Georganna smiles, pleased since she knows that Kageyama trusts her full-heartedly and never breaks his promises.
Takeda blows the whistle and the match begins. Yamaguchi serves the ball first, a jump floater which is super difficult to receive but Georganna positions herself under the ball perfectly to receive it. It flies in a perfect arc to connect with Kageyama’s hands.
“Nice receive Georganna!” Kageyama shouts lovingly.
“That was a perfect receive!” Even Nishinoya gapes in awe at Georganna’s outstanding talent. “She’s even better than me!” The libero whispers to himself. (“Aw hell no!” “Language!”)
The setter tosses the ball to Hinata, and the little middle blocker spikes it, but Tsukishima manages to get a finger on it fortunately for the other team. “Want touch!”
(“Isn’t it one touch?”)
(“Vollayball princess, my ass.”)
(“LANGUAGE CHILDREN!”)
Daichi receives the ball and Suga runs to position himself under it, shouting “Tanaka!” as he sets the ball to the right.
“I’ve got this!” The bald wing spiker shouts as he jumps up to spike the ball, but suddenly there is a wall of golden hair and pink frills.
“Georganna’s going to block the ball!” (“BUT SHE’S IN THE BACK ROW!”)
The girl is incredibly graceful as she jumps, her body in a perfect arc to block Tanaka’s ball. His eyes widen as he comes face to face with the impossible block, and when he swings, the ball comes crashing down onto his side.
“One point for Georganna’s team!” (“THAT’S A FOUL!”)
“That was amazing Georganna!” Georganna’s whole team cheers as she lands gracefully back onto the ground.
“Thank you! But I haven’t shown you guys anything yet!” She giggles and winks.
In the next round, it’s Georganna’s team’s turn to serve. Georganna picks up the ball and takes a deep breath, she spins the ball between her palms a few times before looking up across the net.
You can do this! She tells herself.
She tosses the ball into the air and begins to run at full speed. (“A jump serve?!”)
When she jumps into the air, she smiles happily to herself. Her positioning and timing is perfect. She hits the ball with all her strength and the ball flies at full speed towards the other side.
Daichi tries to lunge for the ball but he’s too late. The ball lands on the floor with a deafening thump, in-bounds. Everyone is shocked into silence as they stare at the spot the ball just landed.
“A SERVICE ACE!” Kageyama, Hinata, Nishinoya, Asahi and Ennoshita cheer.
“T-that was… such a powerful serve!” Daichi mumbles, still on the ground in his shock. “It’s even stronger than Oikawa’s?!”
(Somewhere in Aoba Johsai High School, a volleyball captain shivers, feeling a sense of foreboding loom over him.)
“Where did you learn that?” Kageyama gapes. He knew Georganna was good, but he didn’t expect her to be this good.
“I don’t know,” Georganna says, looking at her hand in mild surprise. “That was my first time doing a jump serve.”
“YOUR FIRST?!” Everyone exclaims.
“Seems like we have another prodigy on our hands,” Sugawara chuckles, looking over at the other team who’s celebrating the sweet girl in their midst.
The match continues, with Georganna’s team winning because of her service aces and incredible receives. When they’re at the match point, Kageyama tries to set the ball to Hinata but realises that he’s going to be blocked by Tsukishima. Asahi is in the back row along with Ennoshita and he doesn’t have time to set up a pipe.
He doesn’t know what to do, there’s no one to toss to except-
I’ll definitely toss to you.
“Georganna!” Kageyama shouts and tosses the ball to the blond girl.
A split-second later, the ball is on the ground on the other side.
“I didn’t even see that!” Both Tanaka and Daichi exclaim.
“That was so fast! Like a - like a-”
“A demon-quick.” Kageyama and Hinata whisper, looking at each other and then at Georganna.
(“HAH?! B-BUT - BUT-”)
(“ISN’T THAT HINATA’S AND KAGEYAMA’S THING?! SHE CAN’T JUST TAKE IT AND - AND-”)
(“THAT DEMON-QUICK TOOK MONTHS FOR IT TO BE PERFECT!”)
“That was your first time tossing to Georganna right?!” Takeda asks, pointing at the soulmates. “But you two have so much chemistry! It’s amazing!”
Ukai himself was too stunned to speak.
“Georganna! You can do demon-quicks too!” Hinata shouted, eyes gleaming with excitement.
“Of course I can Sho!” Georganna chuckles, ruffling his orange hair. “As long as I have my beloved Kageyama by my side, I am invincible.”
(“That sounds familiar but also so so wrong.”)
And with that, the match and practice ended with Georganna and Kageyama’s team winning. As Daichi gathers the team for a debrief, he can’t help but let excitement seep into his voice. “The next few days will be tough as we prepare for our match against Aoba Johsai, but now, the future is not as bleak.” He smiles at Georganna and so does the rest of the team, but Kageyama had the largest grin of all. “We’re going to win the match and go to nationals, because we now have a rising star.”
Georganna laughs happily as the whole team cheers for her.
“HOORAY FOR GEORGANNA PEACH BLUEBELL - THE HOPE AND LIGHT OF THE KARASUNO VOLLEYBALL TEAM!”
(“We’re doomed.”)
