    "The teapot is resting on its stand, empty cups stacked next to it. But there is another cup, half full, resting in front of where a-Yao always sits. There is a mark upon the rim, of oil and wax from a-Yao’s lips, that so often chap in the winter. There is a secret thrill that suddenly fills Xichen, at the idea of placing his mouth on the same cup a-Yao drank from. Tasting what a-Yao’s lips would taste like."
