Chapter 1: Snowy Cuddles

Chapter Text

As heavy snow fell from the skies and coated the sidewalks, Hitch paced around the front of his house, concerned, "Come on Sprout, where are you?"

Eventually, His gaze wandered further down the sidewalks, where finally he saw Sprout, shivering with his arms wrapped around his body.

"Sprout! Where's your coat?" Hitch asked, blotting over to him, "It's freezing out here!"

"Yeah, I know..." Sprout said, "I lost my coat on the train and didn't want to keep you waiting."

"Oh, Sprout," Hitch sigh as he grabbed Sprout's forearm, "Come on, let's get inside before start to get sick."

"Alright," Sprout followed him inside, the house was small but cozy, with a couch in front a fireplace that had a tv overhead, and a fridge, the kitchen was right in front of them.

"Take a seat, I'll get you some hot chocolate," Hitch said, ushering Sprout over to the couch.

"That sounds good." Sprout shivered, his teeth chattering as he sat down on the couch.

Hitch gave Sprout a reassuring smile and then went to a kitchen where he placed a pot on the stove, he quickly grabbed a mug and filled it with hot chocolate, then grabbed some blankets and return to Sprout, giving him the mug.

"Here, it's warm and it'll hopefully keep you from getting sick."

"Thanks..." Sprout gratefully took the cup from Hitch, "Gah, I feel like a total idiot for losing my coat."

"Eh, it's not your fault," Hitch sat next to him, wrapping the blankets around him, "But next time, try to look for it, I don't want you freezing to death," he advised, scooting closer to Sprout, "You got to keep yourself safe."

"I know, I know," Sprout sigh, "it's just," he paused, resting his head on Hitch's chest, "..Nevermind it's dumb."

"Come on," Hitch held him close, gently caressing Sprout's back, "You can tell me."

"Ugh, it's completely stupid," Sprout groaned, taking a sip of his hot chocolate, "I thought you'll hate me if I showed up late."

"Why would you think that?" Hitch asked, raising his eyebrows in concern.

"Because-" Sprout took another sip of his hot chocolate, "My brain is stupid, it tells me that I'm not good enough for you, that I'm going to disappoint you."

"You're not," Hitch said firmly, kissing Sprout's forehead, "Don't let the past define you, I love you, alright?"

"You are so sappy," Sprout chuckled, "But thanks," he paused, his cheeks turning pink, "And I love you too," he kissed Hitch on the mouth, who smiled, gently snuggle Sprout on the cheek, and kissed him back.

"Now," Hitch reached over and grabbed the remote, "Wanna watch a Christmas movie?"

"Yeah sure," Sprout nodded, finishing his hot chocolate.

"I'll put one on," Hitch winked at Sprout, using the remote to turn on the tv, he then change the channel to a streaming service called Hoofflix, selecting the movie 'Wuppet's Christmas Carol.'

With that, the pair, lay back watching the movie play on the tv screen as the fire below warmed the om, and snowflakes gently fell on the roof.

"Is this what perfection feels like?" Sprout muttered his eyes growing heavy.

"Yeah, I think," Hitch said sleepily, closing his eyes.

"I want to stay like this forever." Sprout muttered, falling fast asleep.

"Me too." Hitch yawned, giving Sprout one last kiss before drifting asleep himself.
