Notes:

Me? Actually releasing a chapter of this fic in the same year as the last one? I guess the lockdown was good for something, lol.

Anyways, link time! For the previous part of this behemoth of a series, check out this page right here. And you can find Chapter 5 here, something I apparently forgot to link to while I was still writing, lol.

Now, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Chapter 1: ???

Chapter Text

My name is Nozomi Harigare.

Let me be the first to say that my talent isn’t special at all. Although the common person would think otherwise, impersonations and acting are two very separate things. Impersonation is just playing back what someone’s done. For acting, you need to have actual talent.

That’s why I never understood my enrollment into Rejuvenation. Nor could I understand most of my classmates. I was a fish out of water and thrusted into an alien landscape. Everyday, I’d watch them carefully and take in their eccentricities. Their… liveliness.

…Just like so many times before, I watched from afar. I’d try on the proverbial skin of each of my classmates, attempting to step into their lives and the types of logic they held within them.

And just like my previous experiences, this accomplished nothing. I was simply pretending to find meaning in their illogical actions. To believe I could ever belong there.

But… then I met her.

Aya Yuhi was someone I should have loathed. And, during our first meeting, I did. But… she held tightly onto me. Perhaps, I was something she felt she was missing.

With her peculiar influence, life went on in the strangest possible way for me. I met friends, kept practicing my impersonations, and finally became something I never thought possible: one of them.

Hmm?

...Sorry, I'm going to have to cut my diatribe short for now. Aya's dying for me to meet a classmate of ours.

Perhaps this "Tsukiko Masayoshi" can become my friend, too.
