Summary:

Taking place after the end of the show this fanfiction follows Kira's journey to, and eventual arrival at, Earth, what Issues will she face on her way there? And what will happen when she does make It to his destination?

Chapter 1: The Pilot

Summary:

Kira, going crazy from loneliness and confinment, debates taking a break from her journey.

Notes:

A pretty short chapter to start It off, I hope y'all enjoy It.

Chapter Text

The purple husky stamped her footpaw rapidly, being confined to this ship for weeks on end definitely did not suit her, she survived a dangerous planet, she had, rather embarrassingly, become a puppy, she escaped coniving shapeshifters, and In a memory she'd rather forget, she toppled a entire military operation with only minor assistance from one other dog.

The point being, saying Kira's life was eventful would be a great understatement, but now she was practically Imprisoned within this ship, her only company the fears of what might happen when she arrives at Earth, what the M-Bark's crew thought of her, and how bad she felt, truly a trio she would rather not be around.

She didn't even need to fly, the ship did that on Its own, and she couldn't trust herself not to crash Into something given how boggled her thoughts were.

Desperate to find something to distract herself Kira decided on having her dinner a hour early, she quickened her pace as she entered the kitchen, no not a kitchen, a storage room full of premade rations she grabbed a small black plastic case, which had a thin plastic covering, and placed It Into a oven on the wall, after a simple press of the on button then the button telling the oven what she was cooking a timer lit up as her food heated.

Words couldn't describe how grateful Kira was when she first learned how delicious these packaged meals were, she was skeptical as she had become used to very fresh food, but her standards regarding such things were never very high anyway.

After licking the last of the savory BBQ sauce, which her meal was slathered In, off of her furry fingers she brushed her paws off onto her shirt, she didn't consider herself unsanitary persay, after all, It'd merely be a waste of water to wash herself after every meal.

The husky now sat there her hunger satisfied.

However, soon boredom set In again, she tapped her foot as she began to fidget with her longish cheek fur, she rubbed her tongue throughout her sharp teeth, they were certainly effective for piercing and tearing, but food had a habit of becoming trapped between them, although she wasn't doing this simply remove the offending gunk from her fangs, It gave her something to do, something to think about that didn't stir emotions.

She was sick of this, she had been In this jail cell of a ship for about a month now, she didn't have to fly, she didn't have to work, and no matter how good It tasted her food being handed to her didn't exactly make her move much, frankly the husky feared she was gaining a bit of pudginess.

Regardless she had to do something to stretch her legs, a memory returned to the energy filled dog, she was expected back several days after the time the actual journey would take, the council accounted for anything that might slow her down, If she didn't return before then she'd be presumed traitorous, dead, or both, surely she'd have some time to... resupply... on a planet, yes of course, and besides, did she really need a excuse?

Kira sat down at her ship's main controls eyeing the deactivate autopilot button, she reached out her handpaw lightly pressing one of her fingerpads against the smooth faintly glowing yellow surface.

Kira pulled back

"NO!" She scolded herself, She couldn't do this, she deserved every second of this suffering, and besides she shouldn't waste these spare days In the chance a actual crisis happens.

The husky began to chew on one of her claws, or rather nails now, although more like a cross between the two, It would be wrong to do this, she's lucky Garbage helped as much as he did, otherwise she'd have been tossed Into a real prison by the council she didn't deserve him, espcially If she couldn't man u-... hmm, considering she's both female and not human perhaps that's not the right term, whatever, she shouldn't think about such trivialities, If she couldn't take such a small punishment how could she ever look at Garbage, the crew, or... Olga In the eyes If she didn't deserve any of this.

Kira grumbled laying her arms on her chair's.

The guilty dog's blue eyes wandered back to the button.

Chapter 2: The Planet, Part One

Summary:

Kira lands on a planet of Insectoid aliens out of boredom, what could possibly go wrong?

Notes:

Okay, so first off, this chapter was originally Intended to not be split between two parts, but considering how I've been trying to keep writing one shots, and haven't had a huge amount of time to write, It's been a while since the last update, and as I wrote this I decided to split It up.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kira's sharp teeth gleamed In a excited grin, she was quite pleased with herself managing to land the ship In such a smooth manor, her tail wagged In a purple blur as she unbuckled herself and walked towards the ship's exit.

Kira observed her surroundings a handpaw on her blaster ready to pull It out and shoot at a moment's notice, a part of her hoped something would attack her, the thrill of battle Is greatly preferable to the fear of an attack.

She was In a jungle of a pale blue grass like plant and trees with white bark and that blue color, the sky above was a darker shade of the same color, the only thing she could see, aside from the walls of trees was a city, It was filled with towering buildings which peeked above the mighty trees with regular sized buildings sprinkled In, they were almost all white with large amounts of glass.

Kira began her trek, occaisionally blasting particularly thick foliage to clear a path, having purposfully landed a fair ways away from the civilization, this way she'd get a nice walk and would appear less Intimidating when she entered.

Once she started getting close the the city she noticed the aliens that populated It,  they appeared Insectoid, resembling what she Imagined pray mantises would look like had they been genetically enhanced, however they were about half as tall as her on average, they had four arms, two that ended In a long sharp scythe like claw, the other two had four fingered hands, their colors ranged from blue to green.

The husky hesitently approached quickly gaining the attention of the nearby aliens.

"Hello." Kira waved begining to wonder why she didn't just run around then leave, she had a bad feeling, but of course It was certainly just due to her guilt and untrusting nature... right?

"Hello traveler, what brings you to our humble planet?" One of the aliens asked In a voice which was so high pitched Kira flinched and nearly civered her ears.

"Do you seek supplies?" Another asked In a equally shrill voice.

"Ugh... no... I'm just here to get away from my cramped ship." She answered wondering If giving her quickly aching ears a massage would be rude.

After a couple minutes of awkward silence a group of the aliens walked closer.

"We are the Dreprecari, who and what are you?"

"My name... Is Kira, I am a dog."

The Insects glanced at eachother before that group walked closer surrounding her, Kira let out a growl placing a paw on her blaster only of the aliens to quickly raise each of their limbs fearfully.

"Wait, we mean no harm, we simply wish to get a closer look at you." One of them declared their voice even higher out of fear, at this point Kira was Impressed their glass buildings didn't shatter.

"Uh, no thanks." Kira backed away through a small gap, the creatures also moved away apperently respecting her statement.

"May we offer you a meal?" One of them asked after a pause, Kira put some thought and decided these aliens would have attacked her by now If they wished to.

"Sure." Kira gave a nod after some thought, the food she was given was portioned for a dog who did almost no physical activity for a lomg period of time, considering she planned to exercise she could use more food than what she had.

"Great, I do hope you enjoy It, most aliens who have come through here have found her dishes... unappetizing

Kira was now vaguely concerned about her poor stomach, but It wouldn't be the worst thing she's eaten.

She followed the group through the city only gaining breif looks of Interest from passerbys, It seemed this happened quite often.

Soon she entered one of their buildings and was asat at a long, glistening, white table, the chair wasn' very comfortable as It was made of wood with no cushion but Kira didn't particularly care.

Soon food was layed out In front of her, It certainly brought back memories, It was seemingly cooked to the bare minimum of being edible, and was In essence simply plant matter and meat piled onto a plate.

After a few seconds Kira dove In biting and tearing the meat Into more managable chunks, after a few seconds she looked up confused, none of the aliens were eating, however they quickly gave a explanation.

"Oh, we ate previously."

Kira, after a brief pause, returned to eating.

After devouring the food on her plate she did her best to thank her hosts then began walking towards the exit.

Just as she got to the door her vision began to blur and her legs felt weak, she reached for her blaster.

"Wha-what?" Were the only words to slip out of Kira's mouth before she collapsed to the ground.

Notes:

Oh no! To everyone's suprise the aliens weren't friendly! What next? Is Kira going to be purple?! I don't know If this story can handle all these plot twists!

Chapter 3: The Planet, Part Two

Summary:

Kira must escape the Dreprecari's game.

Chapter Text

Kira sat up her stomach feeling sick and her back sore, In a Instant the dog observed her surroundings, she was In the middle of one of the Praying Mantis Planet's thick jungles, various pebbles and twigs were under her back most likely playing a large part In her soreness, but she's dealt with worse.

Slowly and carefully Kira stood up, as she did one of those obnoxiously high pitched voices spoke.

"Dog Kira, you are our prey, we shall hunt you and then feast upon you."

"What!?"

"Our species adores not only the hunt, but also exotic food, as such we use suckers like you to satisfy both."

Kira's handpaw moved to her blaster only to realize her holster was empty.

"Now, now, don't think we'd leave you with something like that, we use only our natural abilities and you shall too." The voice explained, but by this point Kira was sick of It and dashed towards the voice's source, but when she arrived there the antagonizing alien had already fled.

Kira groaned and simply stold there attempting to figure out her best course of action, these things knew this territory, had bladed arms, and out numbered her greatly, she couldn't win, but she didn't have to, she only needed to fight her way back to her ship.

The purple dog decided her best course of action was to climb one of the Immence trees, from there she should be able to see the Mantis City and get her bearings.

Sure enough, a after a moderately difficult climb, she saw the city, and although the buildings looked very similar to one another she managed to notice one she recongised from where she entered, with her path determined she climbed down and began her walk.

Kira's ears stood up as she heard rustling of a bush, quickly she jumped to a sidd just In time to avoid the lashing of one of those mantis' claws.

The creature quickly adjusted and jumped towards her giving her the bare minimal time to step aside.

The Insectoid twisted around, but this time rather than dodging Kira grabbed both of the alien's weaponized arms, It struggled for freedom, but before It could escape she chomped her jaws on Its neck piercing Its exoskeleton with a satisfying crunch.

Kira shoved the limp body and spat out the the warm, blue fluids, she quickly began dahsing again, although now still attempting to get that horrible taste out of her mouth.

Without her blaster It was much more difficult to maneuver the thick jungle, whenever there was a particulary thick spot she'd have to go around It.

A clump of pale grey slime flew out of the bushes and struck one of her handpaws, Instinctively she attempted to wipe It off with her other handpaw however It simply stuck to both and quickly hardened Into a stone like substance.

As soon as this happened two of the aliens appriached her from where the slime had come from, one of the spit another blast of goo but she managed to dodge this one, although as she did her foot struck a rock causing her to topple over.

One of the creatures brought their bladed arm down at her, but she managed to roll out of the way and scrambled back to her feet, before It could yank Its arm out of the ground Kira struck Its head with her trapped arms, the alien fell with a loud thunk.

The other one let out something that sounded like a ear piercing fusion of a shriek and a growl before It shot another glob of slime at the husky who moved up her already covered handpaws blocking It.

The praying mantis done just what Kira hoped, It rushed her slashing one of Its blades with rage fueled strength, however Its attack struck her trapped handpaws managing to create a crack In the substance before recoiling In pain.

The husky let out a deep growl causing her foe to retreat In fear.

After bashing her paws against a rock the encasing shattered down Its crack.

Kira smirked, she couldn't believe her luck, of all the aliens who may have wanted to eat her she ended up with the ones with one sense of sport, she did not dwell on It long, soon she was back to maming her way to her ship.

Pushing through a thick bush her eyes peeked out, there It was!  Her ship, the only Issue was that these aliens weren't Idiots, there was a group of four of them, one of which held her blaster, standing at the ship's entrance.

The husky tossed a small rock Into another bush causing It to rustle gaining the alien group's attention.

She dash pouncing onto one on the far right if them who let out a scream, predictably the one with her blaster fired It, which she blocked with the alien she attacked leaving a smoldering hole In It.

The other two began spitting their slime as Kira ran In a zig zag on all fours towards them, she got her wish, she was able to stretch her legs.

Once the dog was near one of the aliens got scared and jumped backwards, this didn't change much as Kira quickly lifted up the nearby unarmed alien she hurled them knocking the gun wielding praying mantis over.

Kira smiled as she retrieved her blaster firing two shots In quick succesion hitting the far away alien and one nearby, but before she could fire at the last alien It lashed out with Its scythe cutting In her blaster's barrel.

"Hot!" It shrieked pulling away, Kira punched the Dreprecari knocking them over before she ran Into her ship practically smashing the door open/close button as she did.

Kira took deep breaths to calm her heart, pressing a couple buttons causing the ship to automatically return to Its pre-plotted course.

"That went well." The husky commented sarcastically leaning back In her chair.

Notes:

I'm not great at writing battle scenes, so hopefully this chapter wasn't as bad as I think It Is.
