Chapter Text
Life at the Mega Pizzaplex was always fast paced and every day was unique with its own set of challenges, some of which Sunny was not always equipped to handle. Give them children running around on sugar highs, or birthday parties with thirty or more kids, or even a parent throwing a tantrum—they were able to breeze through those situations with ease. Those weren’t stressful to Sunny, however, when those situations escalated to have the staff annoyed at him, that’s when Sunrise could feel their wiring heating up with anxiety.
Today alone, they had been threatened to be decommissioned twice before the day had even started and the Pizzaplex’s doors had opened. It wasn’t Sunny’s fault that some kid had made Moon angry and had been put in time out during naptime! Sure, Moon had been getting increasingly hostile towards the children about following the rules, but it wasn’t as if Sunny could do anything! When they switched with their counterpart, they were forcefully put into charging mode, thus completely oblivious to what happened while they were “asleep”—the same going for Moon as well.
So, they had been warned to not have naptime today, which Sunny knew would lead to more temper tantrums than usual with how cranky the younger kids could get. Which lead to the second threat of decommission came from the issue of some kids not eating and complaining to their parents. Again, not Sunny’s fault! Everyone knew kids were picky and didn’t always want to eat what was provided. This was why Sunny encouraged parents to bring in food their children would actually eat, having a storage area for food and the ability to memorize every child’s food. However, half the parents acted like it was Sunny’s fault that their child doesn’t want to eat, who hates seeing anyone go hungry. The only reason they didn’t bug the staff about eating and taking their breaks was because of the scoldings they had received after doing so.
Mind heavy with these threats, Sunny had waited patiently for the heavy doors of the daycare to open and was already planning on how to explain to parents why there wouldn’t be any naptime that day.
Sunny had no idea what had gotten into Moon lately, only knowing that the other had become increasingly annoyed with them personally and aggressive with the children. If anyone wasn’t asleep fast enough to their liking, Moon would send them to time out immediately and refused to listen to any excuses or apologies. They hadn’t been like this only a couple months ago and Sunny had to wonder what had happened, but no matter how much they bugged Moon, the other refused to give them a proper answer.
Neves already high, Sunny jumped slightly as the doors burst open, waves of children of various ages and sizes running straight towards him.
“Sunny!” Cheerful cries rang out in the daycare and all of Sunny’s worries disappeared, even for a short while.
“My friends! You’re back! I have so much planned for today!”
Four birthday parties, two autograph signings, and a concert at the end of the day; Monty had a busy day ahead of himself. Not that he minded, after all, what else was he going to do? Practice like the others? Pfft! As if he needed practice! Everyone knew Monty had been created perfect!
So what if he wasn’t the leader of the band or not as famous as Freddy or Chica? Or had a cool racetrack like Roxy? Or the popularity that Bonnie or Foxy had? He was Monty! If someone didn’t know about him, then he would make sure they did or else!
Head held high, tail swinging dangerously behind him and knocking into anyone that wasn’t paying attention. Monty simply smiled whenever he heard an adult grumble and complain under their breath when they were hit and the kids’ shouts of excitement were even better when they were bowled over. No matter how many times he was told off for hitting people with his tail, Monty refused to stop. It was too much fun!
Eventually, he made it to the party room halls above the playpen of the daycare. The only time he came to the daycare were for birthday parties and no other times. Frankly, there was no reason to, especially with how boring it was: no loud music, no exciting games, and he heard they even forced the kids to eat vegetables in the daycare! No, if he was going to hang out anywhere, it was going to either back at his own attraction or at Roxy’s. He’d race her any day of the week!
So, when he hears some of the older kids comparing him to the Daycare Attendant, Monty is furious. How dare those punks even think about putting him on the same level as that wimp!
“I bet Monty could rip him to shreds!” One boy with greasy looking hair snickered.
“Oh please, that clown freak is so creepy, he’d only have to look at Monty to scare him away!” A lanky girl with braces snorted with laughter.
“Would you two shut up?” Another teenager groused, who Monty was sure was the birthday kid’s older sister, and rolled her eyes. “Everyone knows none of the other robots can go into the daycare, so there’s no way of knowing who’d win.”
Now, technically, she was right. Only the Daycare Attendant was allowed to be in the actual playpen of the daycare, only leaving it to bring kids back and forth from the party rooms. The rest of the animatronics were deemed too rough and bulky to be inside the playpen and always forced to stay outside of it. However, Monty knew that once the Pizzaplex was closed, it was a completely different story concerning the Attendant. Gnashing his teeth, Monty heard himself let out a low growl and catching the attention of the three teenagers.
“Is it rabid?” He heard the boy whisper to his friends, but Monty ignored him.
“You wanna see me and that star-head get into it?” He smiled largely at the teenagers and even though they shared looks between them, all three were nodding and pulling their phones out. Everyone else complained about the unpredictability of teenagers, but Monty understood them very well: any bit of violence and they would be biting at the bit. Smirking to himself, Monty lead the teenagers out of the party room and heard the rest of the guests muttering about where he was going. Feeling eyes on him as he made his way down the stairs towards the playpen, Monty’s smile grew larger and crueler. This was going to be fun.
