Chapter 1: Meeting the Ackerman's
Chapter Text
“Are you sure your family will be okay with this?”
Levi let a frustrated breath out, “You’ve asked me that like 30 fucking times already”. The brunette said as he zipped his suitcase up, hands braced on it as it rested in the middle of the bed. Erwin at least looked sorry but had something different in his eyes.
Levi didn’t like it.
“I just wouldn’t want to impose” He said as he came to stand on the other side of his bed. He was twiddling his fingers, a tick that made the closely shaved hairs on Levi’s nape stand. “Do you not wanna do this or something?”
Erwin’s eyes widened in hurt, “Of course I want to. Darling-”
“Then what’s your problem and don’t lie to me” Levi glared up at Erwin through his bangs. Erwin smiled softly and brushed hair out of his eyes. “I could never lie to you. I’m just extremely, unbelievably nervous”.
Levi let out a short laugh, “Are you shitting me?”
“I am most certainly not shitting you, I’m nervous that your family will think we’re moving at too fast a pace, that we’re too young, that I’m not good enough” Erwin let out this list with this distant look in his eyes. Levi bit his cheek as he shoved his suitcase aside and crawled up on the bed.
He wrapped his arms around Erwin’s neck and tugged him close. Erwin’s hands came to rest on Levi’s hips as he pressed his nose into soft, inky strands.
“I’m sorry, I know you hate my self-deprecation” the blonde said as Levi took his face into his hands. “I only hate it because it’s full of shit. You’re everything anyone could ever want to have in a partner. Intelligent, brave, caring, patient, talented, handsome” Levi listed and Erwin smiled.
“You flatter me” he said as Levi sealed their lips together. It was short and sweet and full of love just like Levi.
“My family is crazy and fucking annoying but I know they’ll love you, like I do”
“And I know I’ll love them because I love you” Erwin responded as Levi ran his fingers through his hair.
“Why don’t I help get your mind on something else?” Levi whispered as his quick fingers wrapped around Erwin’s belt.

“No turning back now” Levi drawled as the pair stood on the porch of the Ackerman family home. It was a gorgeous craftsman style home with an open air porch decorated with handcrafted outdoor furniture. Pots held lush and deep green plants, ornate windchimes hung from the overhead beams and were gently twinkling in the brisk winter breeze. Erwin could see that this home was well loved and cared for.
“Oh I’m sure it’ll be okay darling” Erwin said, his nerves had turned into excitement. He couldn’t wait to meet Levi’s family and hope they’d welcome him.
Levi gaze him a withering look and gave the doorbell a ring, after a pause the french door was opened revealing what could only be described as a female version of Levi.
“Bubbeleh!” Kuchel said sweetly as she opened the door for her son. She quickly cupped his face and pressed kisses onto both his cheeks. “Hello maman” Levi said as he reciprocated the kisses. “Oh come in, come in! It’s freezing out there” Kuchel quickly pulled Levi into the home and froze when she finally saw her son’s guest.
Erwin looked around the warm and inviting entrance hall of the craftsman style home. It was warmed by the roaring fire in the intricate fireplace in the corner of the room. There was a record player playing a soft bossa song that really added to the charming ambiance of the house.
He could easily imagine children running around the halls, their laughter bouncing off the picture covered walls. He felt his blood warm when he imagined his own children running around as Levi shouted after the brats.
He must have been spaced out because next thing he knew he stood in front of the mother of the love of his life.
She had thick, dark hair just like Levi framing her heart shaped face and cascading down her back. Her dreamy gray eyes were slightly hooded and framed with lush lashes and sleek eyeliner just like her son. Her skin was clear and flushed slightly due to the cold. She was petite, barely reaching Erwin’s chest.
Her plump lips had gloss over them and her small hands were well maintained and colored pale purple. Her elegant fingers held many rings, one of them was easily recognizable to Erwin. It was identical to the one Levi always wore. Levi had explained to him that every member of his family had one and that it was decorated with his family’s crest. It was a family tradition that an Ackerman received their ring and a one of a kind dagger on their 15th birthday.
Kuchel looked as beautiful as an angel. Shewas dressed in a white lace dress that draped elegantly. Erwin noted that she also seemed partial to finely crafted clothing like her son. They finally made eye contact and Erwin gave her a bright smile.
Kuchel stared up at their guest and quickly glanced at her son. Levi gave her a small smile, more of a smirk really, as he wrapped himself around Erwin’s arm. “Maman, this is Erwin Smith. Erwin, this is my mother, Kuchel Ackerman '' he said and Erwin held his hand out respectfully.
The man, Erwin, was tall and well built. A stark contrast to her son who had taken after herself in so many ways. Kuchel found it endearing how such a sturdy looking young man had dressed in a soft looking cream sweater vest over a collared shirt and slacks. Her Levi was wearing a leather long coat over tight and tattered pants and his beloved platform boots.
“Oh none of that dear. You’re a part of the family now” she said as she wrapped her thin arms around his trim waist. “You sure know how to pick them, Levi. He’s quite the looker”. She let out a laugh as they boys both turned red.
“Maman!”
“Levi?” a new voice called out.
Erwin looked up the stairs and saw a girl making her way down. She was dressed in black dress, fishnet stocking and boots identical to Levi’s.
“Levi-ni!” she said as she jumped into Levi’s arms. Levi laughed as they separated and moved to ruffle her hair, “Did you get taller you brat?”. Erwin smiled as Levi motioned him to come forward, “You must be Mikasa. I’ve heard so much about you”. Mikasa stared up at him with calculating eyes and a small scowl on her black painted lips.
Erwin was man enough to say he was intimidated but smiled nonetheless.
“And you must be Erwin. Levi never shuts up about y-Ow!” Mikasa clutched the side of her head as Levi yanked on her hair.
“Do you really want to piss me off when I can easily head over to Jaeger’s and show him all the embarrassing shit you text me about?” Levi spit out as Mikasa turned pink, “I didn’t think so”
Erwin found himself chuckling at the siblings' antics. He liked seeing Levi like this, he liked discovering another part of the man he loved.
Kuchel laughed as she walked further into their home, “Knock it off you two. Levi, Erwin go get settled while Mikasa and I set the table”. Levi huffed as Erwin grabbed their suitcases, a big grin slitting his perfect face.
“Oh shut up” Levi said as he grabbed his hand and tugged him up the stairs.
The wall along the stairway held many frames showing Levi’s large and talented family. Pictures of them all on vacation, mostly in France and Japan. Erwin recognized Levi, Kuchel and Mikasa but he noticed four other individuals in the family pictures. A tall, dark haired man with features exactly like the other three. The same hued hair and eyes, the angled face and smooth features. The intense gaze in their eyes, the pout of their lips and curve of their neck.
Classically attractive.
The other man was on the smaller side and had silver hair framing his cherubic face, as handsome as the others but in another way. The man appeared happy and had the most distracting, purple eyes. There was also a pair of twins in the pictures and they appeared to be Mikasa’s age. The twins both had blonde hair and bright blue eyes, like Erwin had. Maybe Erwin could easily fit into a family like this.
Erwin also saw photos of Levi’s art galleries, concertos, Levi riding a horse along with the tall, dark haired man wearing a cowboy hat. Erwin was particularly fond of the pictures depicting baby Levi, with his puffy cheeks and annoyed glare.
The boys reached a black painted door with a sign that read ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK and Levi let out a sigh as he looked up at Erwin. Erwin smiled back at him as he opened the door.
“So yeah…this is my room”
Erwin took in everything as he entered the room, it was obviously a well lived and loved room. The walls were covered in posters ranging from bands to shows and movies, the bookshelves had books on books, vinyls and knickknacks. It was obvious some were missing but Erwin could easily guess they were back in Levi’s dorm.
An upright piano was in one corner of the room along with a drawing table. Sketches and paintings hung on the walls and painted on the ceiling was a star chart. Erwin was drawn to the rather large bed in the center of the room. It had plum colored velvet sheets and an ornate metal headboard.
Mounted atop the bed were two odachi swords. That made Erwin snort as he remembered finding a dagger not only under Levi’s pillow in his own dorm but there was now one under the pillow Levi favored in Erwin’s.
The blonde let his eyes trail along the bedside table and it’s contents. An old-fashioned kaleidoscope and french poetry book. He finished looking around the room and realized Levi had been staring at him. He never found Levi’s gaze unnerving even during the early days when they barely knew each other. Instead he found the gaze comforting, a welcome weight on him.
He walked toward his partner and held him close. Pressing a quick kiss to the crown of his head.
“You were right darling, I had nothing to worry about” he said and Levi scoffed.
“You’ve only met half of them” he said as Erwin pulled him even closer. Levi placed his hands on his chest and gave him a look, “Y’know younger me would’ve flipped knowing I had a guy like you in my room”.
Erwin turned pink, “What? You want me to believe you didn’t have a high school sweetheart or something?”. At that Levi let out an actual laugh, “No definitely nothing like that, just a neighbour boy everyone stupidly thought was more than friendship”.
Despite his jokes Erwin found himself slightly displeased with the news. “Oh, will I have a chance to meet him?”. “You might, he did go out of state for school so I don’t know if he came back home but you’ll get to meet Mikasa’s neighbor boy and hear me mock them relentlessly”.
“Of course love” Erwin said as he leant in for a kiss but was stopped by the door banging open.
Erwin instantly felt unsafe.
“Now brat you know the rules. No closed doors when you have company” a deep and rough voice said and Erwin made eye contact with the speaker.
Leant against the door frame was the tall man with dark hair slicked out of his handsome face. He had a small amount of stubble on his sharp jaw and was extremely attractive in a frightening way. “You old bastard you can’t just barge in here” Levi spit out as he stood protectively in front of Erwin.
The man let out a laugh and drank from a bottle of beer, “So this the guy?” he said, indicating to Erwin with a nod of his head. Levi let out a growl as he turned to his partner, “Erwin this is my Uncle Kenny. This is Erwin Smith, my boyfriend”.
Kenny rolled his eyes but eased himself into a standing position. He was slightly taller than Erwin and was obviously physically fit even for a man his age. “Whatever you say squirt, your maman says dinner is ready so let's go”.
Erwin just stood there like a statue as the man slinked out of the room, heavy footsteps echoing the halls.
“Just ignore him the rest of the time we are here. The asshole isn’t worth your attention” Levi said as he shed his coat, revealing his cropped, dress shirt. The first few buttons left undown revealing his pale collar bones and top of his chest.
Resting on his sternum was a forest green jewel hanging from a thin silver chain. The reason this visit had been so stressful and important. Erwin had given Levi the necklace just over two weeks ago. Six months after first meeting each other and four after officially starting dating.
It was a symbol of their love. A promise of it and they would be letting Levi’s family know that they plan on getting engaged as soon as they graduate and marry as soon as they possibly can.
Erwin could only hope he’d get their approval. You see he had been raised rather traditionally and was doing his relationship pretty much backwards. He had first met Levi when the other man had been half-naked and soaking wet in his bedroom and instantly felt something in his heart click into place.
He finally found his match. Never before had he had someone to watch his documentaries or foreign films with. No one who would walk through libraries and museums with equal interest and such fascinating opinions. Only with Levi did he have someone to sit in flower fields with and listen to him recite poems. Only Levi would run his fingers through his hair and hum sweet tunes to him. Only Levi would write sweet little messages in different pages of his books so Erwin would smile.
Only Levi would be under him, over him in bed. With his fast and talented fingers gripping and touching him all over. Only Levi’s mouth felt right to kiss.
Erwin knew of infatuation and he knew how stupid love could make you. Levi was his first ever real boyfriend, his first real kiss, the first person he did anything sexual with, Levi was his first love.
Erwin knew something like what they would be brushed off, he knew most people thought the were dumb teens who weren’t thinking straight but the idea of not tying himself to Levi physically pained him and he knew Levi felt the same.
Levi was extremely direct and brutally honest. He told Erwin how he detested romantic feelings and never saw the point of it and how it all changed when he met Erwin. How the minute he locked eyes with him he never wanted to look away, how the second he heard his voice he never wanted to hear anything else.
Levi spent most of his spare time reading love stories and tales of epic romance and could never see himself feeling that for a person. Levi who spent nights worrying over his inability to provide unconditional love.
But then he started spending time with Erwin. Started looking forward to their hangouts more than anything else. He started respecting Erwin, valuing his thoughts and what he said. Levi who felt his insides turn to mush whenever Erwin smiled at him and gave him bouquets and explained what each flower meant. .
He told Erwin how he had his first feeling of desire over him. How he had always seen sex in a clinical way and thought himself to be somewhere on the aromantic spectrum if he had to give an answer.
How he had yearned for Erwin and how drunk he felt around him. Levi who couldn’t help but fixate on how his shoulders strained in his knit sweaters, how big and warm his hands are, how the hairs on his thighs looked like fire when sun shined on them. Levi could fill book after book on all the things that he adored about him.
“C’mon big guy” Levi said as he made his way for the door, hand outstretched for Erwin to take.
“Coming love”
Chapter 2: Dinner with the Ackerman's

part two is finally here :) sorry for the embarrassingly long wait
Chapter Text
Erwin felt giddy as he left Levi’s room, hand in hand with the smaller man. Levi gave him a very soft look from under his full eyelashes and Erwin felt the familiar warmth race through his veins. He couldn't fully comprehend the way his body reacted to Levi.
This had to be what drugs felt like, this extreme intoxication he felt. It was so polarizing, how could someone soothe you and make you feel on edge all at once?
This feeling couldn't be explained, it was too good to be true. But he found himself not caring about that. That was also something that should alarm him but didn’t. Erwin had always been dangerously curious and would drive himself and everyone around him crazy until he found his answers.
Erwin was pulled out of thoughts by the sound of an opening door.
Out came a teenage boy with blonde hair with bangs over his forehead. His eyes were partially hidden by his hair and square frame glasses. Erwin thought back to the young boy in the pictures as he took in the boy's face.
This must be Armin.
Levi always looked so fond when he’d talked about the young boy. Levi was fond of all his brats as he liked to call them. Erwin knew that Levi was followed around by his younger siblings and their gaggle of friends most of his life.
He was particularly endeared by the story Armin and one of his friends made up as kids, where they all played soldier and Levi was their strong and fearless Captain.
Levi had shown him pictures one night. It was about a month into their official relationship and the pair had spent most of the evening trading childhood memories. Levi was particularly attached to a picture of 10 year old Erwin wearing an astronaut suit. Erwin, in turn, was fixated on a photo of a 13 year old Levi standing atop a fallen tree.
He had a stern look on his face and was wearing a deep green hooded cape. He was surrounded by 5 younger children wearing matching cloaks. Erwin couldn’t bear to look away and felt a funny feeling in his chest when he saw it.
He figured it had something to do with knowing how paternal his lover is and how attractive it is.
Erwin was most endeared by the fact that Levi continued playing the game and dressing up well into his teens. He knew how much the kids meant to Levi and was hopeful to meet them all during their visit.
He loved how Levi kept up with their group chat and still helped with homework, fashion and relationship advice. Levi was the most caring person Erwin had ever met.
Armin waited patiently by the banister as the couple approached him. Erwin finally got a good look at his face and still saw the little boy from the pictures. The same big, blue eyes, the faint flush on his nose and freckles. Armin had a huge smile but an air of nervousness that reminded him of Moblit.
Armin. The youngest of the twins who was, as Levi put it, too smart for his own good.
He was fiddling with the sleeves of his pale blue sweater. The sweater was at least two sizes too big for him and was paired with light gray jeans.
“Hi Levi, it’s so good to see you. I’ve missed you”
His voice was soft but friendly. Levi smiled and grabbed the boy's face.
“Missed you too brat. Glad you took my advice and got rid of the bob” Levi said as he examined the boy, Erwin noticed that Levi’s usual calculating gaze had softened and warmed. The same thing happened when Levi looked at Mikasa. Erwin and Armin’s eyes met and the boy's face quickly turned pink with embarrassment.
Erwin took pity on the boy and placed his hand on the small of Levi’s back. As soon as he did Levi’s attention instantly snapped back to him.
“So this must be Armin”
Levi let go of Armin with a proud grin, “Yes. Armin this is Erwin. Erwin, Armin”.
Erwin held out his hand which Armin easily took.
“It’s very nice to meet you” Armin said and Erwin saw that his flush had lessened.
“Likewise”
Before anyone can say anything else the front door was slammed open and footsteps barrelled towards them. “Oh my gosh Levi!” the voice shouted as Levi was tackled by a small form with a lot of strength.
The air was knocked out of Erwin as the form knocked Levi into him and he had to steady them all. ”I have missed you so much! You have no idea, I have so much to tell you! Oh my gosh I cannot wait to see this hunk of yours. Auntie and Mikasa have been blowing up the grou-” the girl was interrupted by Levi’s hand over her mouth.
It was now Erwin’s turn to flush in embarrassment. Armin made a terrified squeak as Levi practically growled.
“Shut that shitty mouth of yours Historia! He’s standing right here!” Levi said as the girl's eyes widened in shock. Erwin gave her a small smile as tried to not let his mortification show.
Said girl was turning a soft pink as she stared up at him. She has blonde hair identical to Armin and the biggest pair of blue eyes Erwin had ever seen.
The similarities between the twins were obvious yet Erwin couldn’t help but notice how different they were. Armin was still cringing behind his sister as Levi finally lowered his hand from her mouth.
“Hi!!!” she said sweetly as her face split in a giant smile, “I’m Historia, welcome to our family”.
Armin facepalmed and Levi shook with wrath.
“Kids! It’s time for dinner!” a new voice called and Erwin peered down the stairs but couldn’t see anyone.
“You heard Uri brats. Wash your filthy fucking hands and get your asses to the dining room” Levi said. Placing his hands on the back of both of the twins heads, shoving them into the direction of what Erwin assumed was the bathroom.
“Yes Levi!” they called and Erwin had to hold in a chuckle.
“You’re so good with children” Erwin said as the four of them washed their hands. “Oh my god you’re so embarrassing. Shut up” Levi said as his ears turned red.
Levi led Erwin into the dining room and Erwin was floored by the size of the table. It was a massive piece of solid oak and it was stained so dark it was nearly black. There were four chairs on each side and one at each end.
The amount of food being placed on it could feed a small army. Steaming pots filled with vegetables, meats and hearty broths and sauces. Plates filled with sweet and savory breads. Erwin felt his mouth water as he gawked at the feast the Ackermans had assembled.
Levi snorted at his expression and led Erwin to a chair and shoved him into it. “Stop staring Blondie. It’s just food” Levi said as he sat beside him.
“Don’t you feed him?” Kenny said as he took his seat at one end of the table, “The man looks like he's about to start drooling”. Levi clenched his teeth and gripped his table knife, “Watch your mouth”.
“Oh Kenneth, leave them alone” a man said as he sat next to Kenny. Erwin turned to him and smiled at the newcomer. “Hello, I’m sorry I couldn’t meet you earlier. I’m Uri, Kenny’s husband” he said and Erwin recognized his voice as the one that called them down for dinner.
“Hello sir. I’m Erwin, it's a pleasure to meet you” Erwin said with a smile as the rest of the family sat down. “What manners you have. Levi you really got yourself a winner here Levi” Uri said.
Kuchel sat at the other end of the table and had a large grin on her face. The twins sat next to their father across from Erwin and Levi. Erwin was surprised when Mikasa slid into the seat next to him rather than the one beside Armin.
Dinner was extremely pleasant in Erwin’s opinion. Kuchel and Uri eagerly asked about college, Levi’s art, Erwin and his debate team and all the chaos their mutual friends got them in. Everyone eagerly listened as they talked about their first meeting.
“Wait! Levi was just in your room naked?” Mikasa gasped as Levi slammed down his cup and Erwin nearly choked. “I was not naked” he replied as Historia let out a squeal. “How scandalous of you Levi” she says as Armin turns pink.
“It was a misunderstanding, it was pouring rain out-I don't have to explain myself to you shitty brats!” Levi shouted as Kuchel and Uri laughed in delight. Kenny snorted as he drank from his cup then he cleared his throat.
“I never knew you had it in ya squirt” Kenny said and Erwin felt Levi tense up. “Levi…” Erwin said as he set down his chopsticks and placed his hand over his boyfriends. Levi was glaring at his Uncle but his eyes met Erwin’s as soon as he felt their hands touch. He growled but he lowered his shoulders, “Whatever” he sighed as he resumed eating.
“Wow” Mikasa said and Erwin felt his cheeks heat up as he let his hand leave Levi’s.
He felt cold as soon as he did.
“No, no I’m sorry” She said as she picked her chopsticks back up. “I’ve never seen Levi back down like that” she whispered, mostly to herself but Erwin still heard and he found himself smiling. He liked knowing that he could calm his wild love.
“Yes it was interesting” Armin teased and his sister let out a giggle. “Shut up Armin” Mikasa said as she tensed up exactly like Levi did. “It’s just like you and Ere-”, “I WILL RIP YOUR SHITTY BANGS OFF YOU LOSER” Mikasa shouted as she stood up, chair falling backwards as her cheeks burned red.
Levi laughed along with everyone else and Erwin just shook his head as he picked up Mikasa’s chair for her. “Thank you Erwin. You’re the only one here who’s not an absolute tool” she said as she sat down, face back to its normal color. “No problem” Erwin said with a smile. Not so surprisingly Mikasa returned it.
“Okay enough of that. Armin you really shouldn't tease people like that. Not everyone will be as forgiving” Uri said and Levi made a noise of agreement. “Yeah you shouldn't, especially since you can’t fight for shit” he said and Armin scoffed.
“Fighting is for those who can’t solve problems with words” Armin said and Erwin found himself disagreeing, in his head of course but Levi was never one to hold his tongue. “Be sure to use that one when you get cornered, Armin. I’m sure insulting your attacker will be just what you need at the moment”.
Before Armin could retort, Kuchel cleared her throat and the whole table turned to her, “Alright everyone settle down. We shouldn’t show Erwin all our craziness on his first visit”. Kenny chuckled dryly, “Yeah we wouldn’t want to scare him off”..
Erwin let out a laugh as Levi scoffed harshly, “That’s not something you have to worry about”. He let out the statement so casually he didn’t realize what he implied.
Kuchel froze with her wine glass halfway to her face and Kenny almost dropped his bottle of beer. “You’ve gotta be shitting me blondie” Levi said and Erwin felt his face fall. Erwin looked at his partner and Levi was resting his face on his hand with a playful smirk on his perfect face.
“Um what I meant was..what I, I mean we-” Erwin felt flustered as he stumbled over his words. He was usually so eloquent, so suave and he was fucking bombing. Finally Levi took pity on him and decided to speak.
“What Erwin is trying and failing to say is that we are planning on getting married. After we graduate of course” Levi said and it was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. But thankfully the silence only lasted five seconds.
“Oh my god!! We get to plan a wedding!!” Historia shouted.
“I call being Levi’s best man!” Mikasa said with no room for argument.
“I’m pretty sure you’ll have to fight Eren and Jean for that spot and any friends he might have. Like Hanji” Armin argued.
“Of course you’d marry the first guy you fucked” Kenny said.
“Kenny” Uri warned, “Oh I’m so happy for you Levi”.
“Every single Wednesday I call you Levi and every single time you say nothing new or exciting has happened” Kuchel said softly and Levi paled. She smiled at him as she gripped his ear between two fingers.
“How could you not tell me first Levi! I gave birth to you” she said and both boys felt so sorry. “Maman I’m so sorry I wanted to tell you in person” Levi said and Kuchel switched from pulling his ear to petting his hair.
Erwin also felt the intense urge to apologize, so he did. “I’m also very sorry Ms. Ackerman, I should’ve asked your permission before asking Levi for his promise of marriag-” he was interrupted by Kuchel wrapping him up in a warm hug.
“Don’t give me any of that shit Erwin. You’re part of the family now” Kuchel said as she pulled away from him, a big smile splitting her face in half.

Chapter Text
It was the early hours of the morning by the time the Ackerman household retreated to their bedrooms. Erwin felt absolutely euphoric and couldn’t stop smiling.
“What is going on in your head Blondie?” Levi asked as he got himself ready for bed. The blonde in question was slowly removing his clothes.
“I can’t believe it went so well”
Levi snorted as he pulled back the covers of his bed, “You call that well?
“I’m still alive aren’t I?” Erwin said as he came around the bed to stand before Levi. The brunette scoffed, “As if I’d let them hurt you”.
Levi placed his hands on Erwin’s chest, “Thank you for doing this with me. I know how fucking scared you were…I’m very happy things went so well”.
Erwin melted at that. He knew Levi wasn’t the best at verbally expressing himself. He preferred physical acts, not exclusively sexual but whenever he wanted Erwin to feel cherished and loved he’d do these little acts of love.
He’d quietly stand beside Erwin as he stared at pieces in museums, take his hand patiently and lean against him while he read, polish his telescope before they’d go stargazing, leave his tumbler of cold brew chilling overnight because he knew how much Erwin hated hot coffee. He’d brush Erwin’s hair off his forehead when he was in a writing storm, clean off his glasses because Erwin would go months with smudges on them that he simply ignored.
None of this was expected, Erwin wasn’t incapable of doing these things. Levi just liked to do it, he liked to take care of Erwin, make his life easier in any way he can.
“Darling, you don’t have to thank me for doing this but you’re very welcome” Erwin said as he placed his arms around his fiancé.
“Also, I wasn’t ‘fucking scared’” Erwin mocked and Levi laughed rather loudly, “Yeah you were, I could feel it”.
“How do you know what fear feels like if you claim to never feel it?” Erwin teased.
Levi knew what Erwin was getting at. He had told Erwin many times that he doesn’t feel fear. More accurately he doesn’t give fear enough time to grow into a problem.
“I know every tick you have, Win. I know when you’re nervous, when you’re anxious, when you want something” Levi said into Erwin’s ear.
“Don’t get me started, love. I won’t do anything in your mothers home” Erwin said as he gave Levi’s waist a squeeze and swiftly separated from him.
“We’ll see how long you can resist, big guy”
They soon found themselves in bed, under and the covers and seconds from sleep.
Levi was on his back with Erwin’s head resting on his chest. Levi’s hand was lazily loving through blonde hair, he accepted his eyes closing as a sign of the day ending.
“Good night my darling” Levi said softly and Erwin pressed his nose against his sternum, a small kiss was left there.
Levi knew Erwin was practically half asleep and was surprised to hear his voice.
“G’night Levi. M’so glad you don’t feel fear…I don’t want you to stress when we go meet my Dad”
Levi’s eyes shot open at that and he felt himself go rigid.
