“Is she mad at me?” Anne asked Marcy with a frown as the young ravenette stood beside her, unsure of what to do with what was happening right now. Sasha, who was huddled on the gritty concrete floor, cast a sidelong glance at Anne, her lips forming a pout.

“I think so.” Marcy tilted her head as she gave the brunette an uncertain smile. Anne sighed before looking at their blonde friend. “Sasha.” Anne waited for the other girl to look at her.

“Don't talk to me.” Sasha buried her head further into her arms and curled herself up tighter. It was like Anne had kicked a puppy or something and there wasn't anything Anne could do about it.

She sighed again before turning away from Sasha to look at Marcy who was smiling sympathetically. “What did I do now?”

Marcy shrugged in reply while offering Anne a sympathetic smile. “I don't know but you had to have done something that made her upset, Anna-Banana.” The black-haired girl turned to look at Sasha.

“Do you want to tell us what happened, Sash?”

There wasn't any reply from the blonde other than a huff of annoyance. Anne sighed once more, before giving Marcy a pleading expression. Marcy just gave her best friend a soft smile and nodded. ‘Okay, okay I'll take the lead here.'

Anne stepped forward towards Sasha, kneeling on knee before her. She reached out carefully and placed a hand on Sasha's arm.

“You ignored me and Marcy again” Sasha said without lifting her face. Anne was confused by what Sasha said because as far as she remembered today, she didn't ignore either of them. "What do you mean?” Anne asked.

“Marcy and I really wanted to play with you but you were too busy playing with your other friends.” Sasha replied in a soft voice. Anne opened her mouth to speak but closed it after a moment.

"Marcy, is this true?" Anne turned to look at her other friend and saw that the latter had averted her eyes. There was guilt written all over Marcy's face.

Anne frowned when the ravenette refused to meet her eyes and instead stared at the ground. “I-I thought you didn't want us bothering you...” Marcy murmured quietly.

Anne frowned. “Why would I be bothered by you and Sasha?” Anne asked with genuine bewilderment.  “You two are my best friends, there's no way you guys would ever bother me!” Marcy finally lifted her gaze to meet Anne's. Her brown eyes were filled with nothing but pure sincerity.

Sasha sighed and finally lifted her head, staring at Anne with an unreadable expression with her ocean-blue eyes. “I wish you weren't so nice to everyone sometimes.” Sasha whispered, her cheeks slightly dusted red as she said it.

For a moment, Anne was lost in her thoughts before an idea dawned on her. Her brown eyes suddenly sparkled. “I know! Why don't we all get married when we grow up together?” She smiled brightly as she looked around for approval from her two friends.

Marcy and Sasha were both surprised by her suggestion, both of their cheeks flushed red as they looked anywhere but each other.

Marcy finally cleared her throat, taking care not to sound strangled as she spoke, her voice sounding hoarse even to her own ears. “Are you sure? That's a big commitment, Anne.” Anne giggled.

“Yeah and it's a lot of pressure too.” Sasha added, still avoiding eye contact with both girls. “We don't have to get married if you don't want to but if we got married, we wouldn't have to be separated ever!”

“Just think about it, we'd be together forever and be best friends forever!” Anne chirped happily. The young brunette was positively vibrating with joy as she gazed eagerly at the other two. “It'd be perfect, you know!”

Sasha and Marcy exchanged glances with one another before smiling softly as the other girl rambled on happily about how fun it would be.

The warm sun beats down on Anne's skin as she approaches her friend. The sight of Sasha waiting for her on one of the benches couldn't help but bring a smile to Anne's face.

As the sun shone down upon her skin, the young brunette took notice of the large bouquet of yellow roses in Sasha's hands. An amused grin graced Anne's features as she came closer, her brown eyes sparkling merrily.

“Whoa, look at all these roses you brought, Sasha!” Anne exclaimed. “I know what you're thinking,” Sasha said quickly as she handed the bouquet over to Anne. She smiled at the other girl as Anne examined the flowers. “And you're right, these are for you, Anne.” Anne looked at Sasha with surprise before glancing back down at the flowers, biting her lip lightly. “Oh, well... thank you very much.”

Although, Anne wasn't expecting the flowers to be for her. She was still very thankful that Sasha had thought of her and gone out of her way to get her such a beautiful bouquet. An amused chuckle escaped Sasha as she watched Anne stare at the flowers, her brows furrowed slightly in concentration.

“No need to look at them that much, Boonchuy.” Sasha grinned as she gently bumped her shoulder against Anne's. “They're pretty and I'm glad you thought of getting me these, Sash.” Anne flashed her friend a bright smile, making Sasha blush lightly.

“But why are you giving these flowers to me?” Anne asked, her brown features displaying a look of curiosity. Sasha shrugged.

“I just wanted to,” Sasha replied simply before she smiled faintly at Anne. “Besides, do I have to have some kind of reason to give them to someone I like?” A shyly pleased smile graced Sasha's lips as she glanced away, her face flushing a light shade of pink.

Anne just stared at her friend as she started to feel warmth spread throughout her body and her heart beat faster and faster, threatening to burst free of her chest. “Of course not! The gesture speaks for itself but...” Anne sighed before continuing “I just think it's really sweet of you to give this to me, Sash.” Anne felt a little embarrassed by how sappy she sounded but she couldn't hide the smile that grew brighter and wider on her lips as she continued speaking. “Thank you.”

Sasha's heart skipped a beat. Anne had said that with such honesty and sincerity that it left the blonde-haired girl completely speechless. After a few moments of silence, Sasha swallowed thickly. “I, uh...” she cleared her throat before adding “Your welcome, Anne.” A warm feeling spread through Sasha and she couldn't stop herself from smiling widely despite her nervousness.

Anne smiled fondly at Sasha before remembering something she had to tell her. “Oh yeah!” Anne exclaimed enthusiastically as she remembered it. “Sorry for making you wait so long— practice was taking way too longer than I expected it to take.” Anne apologized.

“It's fine, I wasn't waiting for you that long, anyways.” Sasha answered, chuckling softly. Anne laughed nervously. “Right...” Anne mumbled. “But I still feel bad for making you wait though” she muttered.

“I swear, you didn't make me wait for that long, Boonchuy.” Sasha assured her with a soft smile before nudging her playfully. “So, you ready to go home yet?” Anne nodded her head slowly before Sasha stood up from the bench.

“Let's go then.” Sasha replied with a smirk.

The wind blew gently against the two teens as Sasha held onto Anne's waist while they rode her bike, both giggling as they enjoyed the peaceful breeze. Anne looked up at the sky, a gentle smile painting her lips.

“Today was wonderful, Sash.” Anne breathed.

Sasha hummed contently in response “Yeah” she murmured.

“It really was.” Sasha said.

For a moment, neither spoke, content to enjoy the pleasant weather and their surroundings as they continued riding Anne's bicycle home.

-

On that day around the time of night.

Sasha hissed and internally cursed at herself when she saw what her phone was showing her.

On her phone and according to what google had decided to show her was the meaning of yellow roses. “I knew I should have gone with the red roses instead!” Sasha mentally scolded herself as she glared daggers at the screen of her phone before sighing heavily to herself.

“I'm an idiot.” Sasha groaned as she dropped her phone onto the mattress of her bed, burying her face into the pillow beneath her. “I should have gone with my gut feeling earlier.” She huffed exasperatedly.

She was aware that red roses meant romance, happiness, and affection but when Sasha saw the yellow roses during the time she was with her dad, she couldn't help but be reminded of Anne and how much the girl was bright most of the times.

“Gosh damn it, I'm an idiot.” Sasha repeated inaudibly.

Generally speaking, Sasha doesn't like many people.

Sure, she's known by a lot of people as one of the most outgoing and popular girls at school but Sasha's never been one to like many people.

However, she has always made an exception for Anne and Marcy. “Yo, Sasha!” A loud voice called out, jolting the young blonde out of her thoughts. Sasha's gaze trailed towards where the loud voice had come from.

“Cheyenne.” Sasha muttered under her breath as she raised an eyebrow at the grey-haired girl who walked towards her. “I heard you're hosting another pool party this weekend, what's up with that?” Cheyenne asked. Sasha snorted silently in amusement.

“My dad plans on going away for the weekend for a business trip, that's what.” Sasha responded. “Thanks for inviting me and vince” Cheyenne grinned. “No problem, that's what friends are for, silly.” Sasha chuckled as she waved one of her hands dismissively.

“Always have a way with words, Waybright!” Cheyenne replied with a cheeky grin as she elbowed Sasha playfully. Sasha just smiled even as she found Cheyenne to be annoying when she did this. “Speaking of this, have you seen Anne or Marcy yet?” Sasha quickly changed the subject as she glanced briefly around. “You haven't?” Cheyenne questioned.

“No? If I did, I wouldn't be asking you right now, would I?” Sasha retorted sarcastically. Cheyenne shrugged in response. “I just thought you'd already know since you always hang out with those two after all.” Cheyenne gave Sasha a small nudge.

Sasha frowned. “Whatever, they're probably doing something stupid again.” Sasha shook her head.

°˖✧˖°

“Marcy!” A young brunette girl yelled as she ran across the playground towards Marcy, a giant grin plastered on her face as she did so. Marcy looked up to see who was running towards her, her eyebrows raising in question.

She couldn't keep the happy expression off her face once she caught sight of Anne; her eyes widened and she broke out into a wide smile. “Anne! You're finally here!” Marcy let out a joyful squeal before she hurriedly ran over to the brunette with a huge smile. “Oh my gosh, you're finally here!” Anne laughed slightly as the ravenette opened her arms to pull her tightly into a hug, her face buried into Anne's neck.

“Hey, Marbles!” Anne giggled as she wrapped her arms around Marcy as well. “Did you miss me?” She teased. “Not at all!” Marcy replied cheerfully. Anne hummed before she pulled back from the hug slightly. “Were you doing something else just now?” Anne curiously inquired.

“Nothing much, actually.” Marcy admitted with a slight shrug as she smiled sheepishly at Anne, her cheeks reddening. “I was just drawing on sand.” Marcy added. “What were you drawing?” Anne asked. “Nothing important really, a couple of butterflies and stuff.” Marcy replied as she rubbed her arm bashfully.

“That's awesome!” Anne said excitedly. “Can you show me what you drew? I wanna see it!” Anne pleaded. “Only if you promise not to laugh at it, okay?” Marcy asked hesitantly. “I won't!” Anne promised with a quick shake of her hand.

Marcy bit her lip in thought for a moment before nodding her head and taking Anne's hand into hers to lead her to the sandbox on the playground.

They stopped when they were a few meters away from it, letting go of each other's hands as they faced each other again. Marcy took a deep breath before turning around to face Anne again. “Okay, look over there.” Marcy pointed towards the sandbox and Anne eagerly followed her direction.

As Anne looked at the sandbox, her eyes lit up in amazement. The drawings Marcy had created were incredible, the intricate details of the butterflies were truly something to behold. Anne couldn't believe her eyes as she gazed at Marcy's drawings in the sand. The way the lines and shapes came together was truly remarkable and had Anne in awe of Marcy's talent.

“Marcy, this is amazing!” Anne exclaimed in amazement. “You're so talented!” Marcy blushed at the praise and rubbed the back of her neck bashfully. “Thanks, Anne,” she said softly.

“You should show this to everyone!” Anne urged. “I bet they would love it just as much as I do.” Marcy's eyes lit up at the suggestion, a smile spreading across her face. “You really think so?” she asked, hopeful. “Of course!” Anne replied confidently. “I know it!”

Marcy looked at Anne with a mixture of gratitude and amazement. Marcy felt thankful and lucky that she had someone as encouraging and supportive as Anne in her life. “Thanks, Anne. You always know how to make me feel better.” Marcy said, a genuine smile spreading across her face. “Anytime, Marcy. That's what friends are for.” Anne replied, smiling back.

Marcy sighed as she rested her head on Anne's lap, a gentle smile playing upon her lips. “Do you think Sasha's looking for us?” Anne wondered out loud. “Probably.” Marcy replied, closing her eyes, relaxing against Anne slightly as she tried to remember everything from the last few minutes.

A few moments ago, Marcy had made the perfect plan to woo Anne; a simple and short plan that was sure to work. However, things hadn't seemed to go smoothly. In fact, it had gotten progressively more difficult every moment she spent more time with the brunette.

“You know, as much as I enjoy having you and Sasha's company almost all the time. I'm glad we have this time alone.” Marcy could only imagine that she sounded quite cheesy, but she didn't care because it was true and she enjoyed every second she had with Anne.

Anne smiled, feeling her heart warm in her chest at the words she just received from the ravenette. “Yeah...me too,” Anne murmured happily. Marcy couldn't deny that hearing Anne say those exact words meant a lot.

“I love our time together,” Marcy stated honestly. She knew the words that came out of her mouth were probably incredibly embarrassing, but Marcy honestly felt that it wasn't enough to express just how grateful she was for spending any kind of time with Anne; for her company, to be able to spend time with her

“Me too...” Anne murmured as she absentmindedly began playing with one of Marcy's soft curls. The pair continued to sit there in content silence, basking in each other's presence for the next hour or so before Sasha found them.

“I've been looking everywhere for you two!” She exclaimed, panting lightly as she approached them. “Sorry, Sash.” Marcy immediately apologized as she sat up. Sasha waved her hand in dismissal. “It's fine, don't worry about it.” She reassured. “Let's just go now, shall we?” Sasha offered her hand out to Anne to help her up.

Anne smiled softly as she took the offered hand gratefully and pulled herself up. “Where are we going though?” Anne asked curiously as she glanced between Marcy and Sasha. “We're not skipping school. So, don't worry about it.” Sasha replied, shooting Marcy a sly smirk which Marcy returned instantly.

“Just follow us!” Marcy simply announced with a grin before she and Sasha intertwined their hands together with Anne. Although Anne was a bit nervous about where they were planning to go and what they were planning to do, she trusted Marcy and Sasha a lot that they wouldn't be doing anything bad. “Alright then!” Anne nodded. “Lead the way then, guys.” She said brightly.

With that, the three headed off to somewhere unknown, and Anne couldn't help but wonder whether or not there was anywhere she wanted to go more than anywhere else in the whole world at that very moment.

(Preview of) Chapter 3: keep your friends close but your enemies closer

“You know, I'm beginning to seriously wonder where we're going right now.” Anne commented as looked at both of her friends with curiosity and interest. “You'll see.” Marcy replied mysteriously, smirking slightly as she glanced back at Sasha to give her a wink. “I promise you, Anne. You'll love this,” Sasha stated confidently with a smile, squeezing Anne's hand reassuringly.

Oh and don't worry about the chapter title, I swear nothing bad is going to happen to them. It'll just be a reference to some stuff they'll do. I'll let these three be fluffy with each other for now.

Anne furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, still uncertain about their destination. “Is it something we've never done before?” she asked, hoping for a clue to ease a little bit of her anxiety. “Something like that,” Sasha replied, trying to hide her excitement. "It's a surprise, and we want to keep it that way. Just trust us on this, Anne."

After a few seconds of hesitation and consideration, Anne gave a small nod of confirmation. “Alright.” She whispered as the three of them began heading in the familiar direction towards the school library. Marcy chimed in, “Besides, what's the fun in always knowing what's coming next?”

Anne allowed herself to relax a little bit after being worried about what they had planned in secret, her nerves slowly ebbing away, replaced by a sense of warmth and an eager anticipation for whatever they might have in store for her. As she fell in step beside Marcy and Sasha, holding onto their hands as she walked, Anne allowed herself a small smile – her heart filling with pure happiness and joy – the feeling of safety and comfort washing through her as she walked alongside the two girls.

She trusted her friends and knew they would never lead her astray. Still, she couldn't shake off the feeling of anticipation. As they continued down the hallway towards the library. “Are we going to the library?” Anne quietly asked. Even though they were walking toward the direction of the school library, she wanted true confirmation of where they were headed at.

Sasha turned to face her with a grin, nodding her head. “Yeah, we're going to the library, but not for studying this time,” she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Anne couldn't help but chuckle at her friend's enthusiasm. “Alright, I'm intrigued now,” she said, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity.

Sasha and Marcy led Anne into the library, its familiar scent of paper and ink greeting them. The sound of shuffling pages and hushed whispers filled the air. Marcy led the way, weaving through the maze of bookshelves until they arrived at a section at the back of the library, far from the prying eyes of other patrons. Anne followed quietly, her curiosity piqued.

As they approached a corner of the section, Anne gasped in surprise at the sight of the towering stacks of books. She craned her neck to look up at the books, her eyes wide with wonder. “What in the world?” Anne muttered, her gaze still fixed on the impressive stacks.

“Just behind here is a special place that me and Sasha prepared for you,” Marcy explained, gesturing towards the books. “Come here.” Sasha added as she gently tugged at Anne's arm before squeezing her way through a narrow gap between two shelves.

Anne followed Sasha's lead, pushing her way through the stacks of books. As she squeezed through the narrow gap between two shelves, she realized that Sasha and Marcy had created a secret nook hidden behind the towering volumes. The nook was small but enough for all three of them together. It had several pillows laid around, blankets and cushions scattered over the floor, making it seem comfortable and inviting.

“This is amazing!” Anne exclaimed, settling into the cozy space. “How did you two even think of this?” Anne questioned as she glanced over at Sasha and Marcy in amazement.

Sasha and Marcy beamed with pride. “Marcy was actually the one who suggested the idea first,” Sasha admitted. “I was just the one who provided what was needed for this,” Sasha added proudly. “I can tell you guys really worked hard on this.” Anne complimented, smiling widely. “We've been working on this for weeks, actually,” Marcy replied while glancing at Sasha, clearly pleased with both of their contributions to this.

“It's amazing, isn't it?” Sasha asked both of her best friends with a bright grin on her face. “It's like a little hideaway just for the three of us.” Sasha finished with a fond sigh. “Exactly.” Marcy agreed. Anne chuckled lightly at her friend's expression. “And it suits the three of us pretty well, doesn't it?” Anne remarked, both of the girls humming happily in agreement while smiling affectionately at each other.

“Well, who wants to do the honors of sitting down first?” Sasha inquired eagerly, looking expectantly over at Anne. Anne blushed lightly, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly as her eyes met Marcy's. Marcy just smiled at her softly before she replied. “I don't think it should be me. I mean, I had no contributions to any of this so...”

Sasha rolled her eyes playfully before replying, “Please, it doesn't matter if you contributed or not to this. It's for the three of us, Anne.”

“Not for the two of us.” Sasha finished with a chuckle. “Sasha's right, Anne.” Marcy concurred and chimed in. “You're part of this too. Whether you contributed or not, you'd still be a part of this.” Marcy said reassuringly with a gentle smile.

Anne felt a rush of gratitude as she heard Marcy's words. Her heart warmed at the gesture of kindness shown to her. “Thank you.” She murmured softly. “That means a lot.” She breathed, her voice wavering ever so slightly. The three shared warm smiles and soft laughs before Sasha clapped excitedly. “Okay, let's sit down then!” she grinned happily, causing Anne to giggle.

“Alright, alright. Calm down, Sash.” Marcy giggled amusedly at the excited girl, grabbing Anne's hand gently and tugging her along. They settled themselves on the soft pillowy cushions on the ground, their heads resting on each other as they held hands with each other and talked, sharing stories about the past week and telling some silly jokes.

Sasha and Marcy were the ones who mostly talked with each other whilst Anne just listened to both of them and their stories before she slowly drifted to sleep, content and relaxed.

°˖✧˖°

“You know, I still remember that time Anne told us we should get married when we were kids.” Sasha started suddenly and Marcy immediately paused the game she was playing on her phone as her attention was diverted to Sasha as she spoke. She raised her eyebrow curiously at Sasha questioningly.

“Oh, yeah?” Marcy said curiously. “Don't you remember? It was stupid but I got mad at her that time because she kept spending time with the other kids at the playground when she had us with her.” Sasha replied, laughing slightly, recalling the memory. “It's not stupid, Sash,” Marcy responded.

“You were just a kid, after all. Who could blame you when your emotions sometimes get the better of you?” Marcy mused thoughtfully. “And plus, I personally thought It was cute.” Marcy commented, smiling tenderly at Sasha. A light blush crept across Sasha's cheeks as her cheeks flushed slightly pink under the scrutiny of Marcy's eyes.

“Thanks...” she mumbled, her tone full of embarrassment as her eyes darted downward, avoiding eye contact. “So, how are things going with you and Anne, by the way?” Marcy queried casually, changing the subject to try and distract herself from looking at the light blush across Sasha's cheeks.

“Things are good.” She answered simply as she turned her head back to look at Marcy. “I heard from Anne about how you got her a bunch of yellow roses yesterday.” Marcy teased, grinning slyly at Sasha's embarrassed expression. “Yes, well…” Sasha said, trailing off, obviously unsure of how she should explain herself to Marcy.

“I was actually planning to get some roses for you too but I got occupied with buying Anne roses and forgot. Sorry about that,” Sasha apologized with an apologetic smile. Marcy felt her cheeks heat up slightly at hearing that. “Pftt— why were you even thinking of giving me roses?” Marcy asked, grinning teasingly at Sasha.

“I don't know. It didn't sit right for me to give Anne roses while you had nothing,” Sasha replied, rubbing the back of their neck shyly as she said that. Marcy's gaze softened as she gazed affectionately at Sasha. “That's sweet,” Marcy remarked. “But getting to spend time with you and Anne almost every day is way better than you getting me any gifts, Sash.” Marcy said sincerely with a smile.

“Still think I should have gotten you a gift though,” Sasha insisted with a frown. “As a thank you for helping me out with Anne even when we should be working against each other.” Sasha added. “Pssh— It's nothing. I mean, that's what friends are for!” Marcy responded. “And like two people fighting against each other for one person is overrated and overused anyway!”

Sasha giggled softly at Marcy's words, her heart warming at the genuine happiness radiating from the other girl's tone. “You're right, Mars.” Sasha replied. “And love triangles are overrated.” Sasha continued with a teasing smirk. “Why fight with the other when you can just let the best one win?” Sasha questioned teasingly.

“Even though I'm helping you with Anne, I'm still working against you.” Marcy retorted teasingly with a mischievous smile. “I'm not going to lose or go easy on you because you're my best friend, Sash.” Marcy stated as she crossed her arms. Sasha chuckled at her words. “Well, I won't go easy on you either then.” Sasha replied.

Marcy chuckled. “keep your friends close but your enemies closer.” Marcy responded.

“And then I was like—” Marcy was cut from her story abruptly by Sasha when the young blonde-haired girl suddenly tapped on one of her leg. “I think Anne fell asleep, Mar-Mar.” Sasha whispered, smirking as she pointed towards Anne who was asleep on her shoulder. Marcy smiled whilst she looked at Anne, feeling her heart swell up at how peaceful the brunette looked as she slept on Sasha's shoulder. “Yeah.” Marcy whispered back with a chuckle softly which made Sasha smile in return.

“I'm desperately hoping the librarian doesn't catch us hiding here in this spot,” Marcy said quietly with a slight chuckle. “I don't want to risk getting banned from the library again...” Marcy admitted sheepishly as Sasha snorted with amusement at the comment.

“If she finds out, we'll just look for some other place than here then,” Sasha suggested confidently, earning a surprised chuckle from Marcy. “Now that is something I wouldn't mind.” Marcy commented with a grin.

“What's that you're drawing, Anne?” Marcy asked curiously as she looked at the half-completed drawing on the table in front of her and Anne. “It's a house!” Anne cheerfully replied, sitting beside her on the couch. “But for who exactly?” Marcy inquired curiously, eyeing the piece of paper carefully as if she was inspecting an artifact.

“It's for us, duh!” Anne retorted cheekily. Marcy's cheeks instantly flamed slightly for a brief moment. “For us?” She repeated in surprise. “Um-- I mean yes. For us.” Anne stammered. “Who else would the house be for, silly?” Anne laughed. Marcy chuckled after her. “It's just for you, me, and Sasha?” Marcy clarified hesitantly. “Me, you, and Sasha” Anne confirmed enthusiastically.

“We'll be living together after we grow up, remember?” Anne stated happily with a smile. “You promise?” Marcy questioned shyly. “Of course, silly,” Anne replied with a laugh.

“I promise we'll live together in one house and take care of each other,” Anne added as she rested her head on Marcy's shoulder. It was comforting and peaceful for a while like that before Marcy's mom eventually came into the living room and gave them the news that dinner was ready.

Marcy sighed as she finished writing some notes earlier in class she had missed writing in her notebook before putting it away in her locker. She was currently walking in the school hallways with Anne who was busy laughing at something on her phone. Marcy got curious about what was making the brunette laugh so much.

“What are you laughing about?” Marcy asked, trying to sound casual and nonchalant despite being extremely curious. Anne only laughed harder. “Look at this.” Anne said, showing her screen towards Marcy who leaned in to see what was so funny.

Anne’s phone screen showed her a video from the time when the three of them hung out at a cafe, the three of them seated down to each other as Marcy rambled excitedly about some new video game she has been waiting for a long time to be updated. Marcy was waving her hands up and down excitedly in the air as she spoke about it when she suddenly had hit Sasha's face who was seated on her left with one of her hands.

Sasha hissed in pain as she held onto her face with her hands. “Sorry, Sash! I didn't mean to!” Marcy apologized quickly before the blonde glared daggers at her out of annoyance. Anne, who was seated on Marcy's right just happened to have recorded the whole thing on her phone as she laughed hysterically at the sight of Sasha glaring at Marcy.

Marcy grinned nervously at Sasha who looked like she was going to beat her to a pulp before turning her head to look at Anne with pleading eyes to save her. The brunette tried her best to stop herself from laughing any further but failed miserably as she proceeded to laugh harder at her best friend's misery.

A few moments later in the video, Marcy almost endlessly apologizing again and again to Sasha for accidentally hitting her face as Anne continued to laugh to the point her stomach hurt from laughing too much.

“—I thought you deleted that,” Marcy complained, frowning as she looked at the brunette with narrowed eyes. “It's too hilarious, dude. I just couldn't!” Anne managed to choke out, continuing to laugh uncontrollably at the video as she viewed it again. Marcy groaned in frustration.

“Can you please stop laughing?” Marcy whined loudly with embarrassment written all over her features. “Okay! Okay! I'll stop.” Anne said in between laughter, calming down from the hysterical giggles. “When I watch this video again.” Anne added cheekily.

“I swear to frog, Anne...” Marcy grumbled under her breath, burying her face into her hands in defeat before letting out a sigh. Anne's laughter faded away quickly after she saw the annoyed expression etched across her best friend's face. “Sorry.” Anne apologized sheepishly. “Too much?” Anne asked with a soft chuckle escaping her lips.

“No, it's fine. You don't have to apologize- it doesn't bother me at all,” Marcy reassured her with a soft small smile. “Besides, like you said it's too hilarious,” Marcy added with a fond chuckle as Anne smiled at her. "I know." Anne agreed softly.

— ◇ —

The rest of the day at school passed by quickly and soon enough, everyone was leaving school to go home after a long day full of classes and school activities.

Marcy tucked her hands in her jacket's pockets as she walked beside Anne who was busy scrolling down her phone while they were heading their way home. "So, did you text Sasha yet If she got home or not?" Marcy casually asked, looking straight ahead of them on the sidewalk with a calm expression on her face as she awaited Anne's reply.

“Do- you, uhm, wanna hold hands?” Marcy asked Anne with uncertainty in her voice as Anne stopped walking momentarily and stared blankly at Marcy. “Uh... why?” Anne questioned confusedly, furrowing her eyebrows together. “I don't know, maybe you just wanted to..??” Marcy asked awkwardly as a blush immediately spread across her cheeks once she realized what she just said.

Anne raised an eyebrow in amusement before letting out a little chuckle. “If you wanted to hold my hand then why didn't you just say so, Marbles?” Anne joked, earning herself an embarrassed groan from the shorter girl as she lightly elbowed Anne's shoulder. “Just shut up, Anne.” Marcy snapped playfully as Anne simply chuckled in response.

“Yes, I'd actually want to hold your hands, Marce.” Anne admitted softly with sincerity laced in her voice as she gazed intently at Marcy. That just made Marcy's cheeks flush even more. “Really?” Marcy asked tentatively, raising her eyebrows. “Yep,” Anne responded with a wide grin before. A small smile slowly curved its way onto Marcy's lips as Anne quickly snatched her hand and interlaced their fingers together.

Marcy couldn't help but stare down at their interlocked hands, unable to tear her gaze away as a warm feeling started bubbling inside her chest and spreading through her entire body. “This is nice,” Marcy whispered quietly after some time, glancing up briefly at Anne's smiling face. “I know, right?” Anne replied gently, still grinning.

A comfortable silence took over the two girls as they kept walking side by side, holding onto each other's hands before the two had to part ways to go home.

“Bye, Marce,” Anne said sweetly before leaning forward and kissing Marcy's cheek briefly. Marcy was surprised as she blushed furiously at Anne's action, unable to process it and unable to say anything back to her. As the two of them stood there, frozen in place, staring at each other without saying anything, Anne finally broke the ice.

“See you tomorrow, Marcy!” She exclaimed brightly, smiling radiantly at the ravenette before pulling her hand away from Marcy’s gently and running off to her home.

Marcy watched as Anne's retreating figure went away until her figure disappeared from her view, her heart fluttering madly in her chest as the cold air brushed against her cheeks.

Marcy wasn't sure if it was because of the cold breeze that blew against her hot cheeks or if it was Anne but Anne’s kiss lingered upon her cheek like some sort of ghostly feeling. And when Marcy would later be alone with her thoughts at home, she would only have Anne's action stuck as it repeated itself again and again in her mind.

The warmth in her chest brought by Anne, never going away.

“You're lying.” Sasha immediately stated flatly in disbelief as soon as she and Marcy could see each other in their video chat. “I'm not, I swear!” Marcy defended herself desperately as her cheeks flushed red. “When and how though?!” Sasha asked in disbelief and confusion.

“Yesterday— we were just walking home as usual, you know?” Marcy began explaining, starting from the beginning. “I noticed her hand was vacant so I just went for it and asked her if she wanted to hold hands,” Marcy continued talking. “She teased me about it but she said yes then the next thing I know, me and Anne were holding hands almost the whole time we were on our way home before we had to split up cause-” Before Marcy could continue any further with her explanation, Sasha interrupted her with a loud groan.

“Just get to the point, Marce!” Sasha interrupted impatiently. “Alright, alright. I'll just cut it short for you!” Marcy told Sasha with a hint of annoyance and impatience in her tone, shooting her best friend a glare before clearing her throat slightly and trying her best to keep calm. “After we parted ways, Anne let go of my hand and gave me a kiss on the cheek before waving goodbye and making her way home,” Marcy finished.

“That's it? Nothing else happened after that?—” Sasha interrogated with a skeptical tone and raised an eyebrow expectantly. “Well, yeah. You know, Anne and I don't have much experience with that kinda stuff, so we just kinda pretended it never happened?” Marcy explained sheepishly.

Sasha facepalmed herself as the ravenette smiled sheepishly at her while rubbing the back of her head with her other hand as the other held her phone to show Sasha herself through the video call. “Oh my god, I can't believe you two,” Sasha groaned in exasperation as she shook her head disapprovingly before burying her face into her pillows.

Marcy chuckled slightly at Sasha's reaction, knowing her friend's tendency to overreact to things like this. “What? It's not that big of a deal,” Marcy said with a shrug. “Not that big of a deal? Anne kissed you, Marce! That's a huge deal!” Sasha exclaimed, her muffled voice coming from beneath her pillows.

Marcy rolled her eyes playfully at Sasha's dramatics. “Okay, okay, you're right but seriously? It's no big deal.” Marcy insisted nonchalantly with a smile.

It was silent for a while before Sasha finally lifted her head up from her pillows and looked back at Marcy through the screen. “So, what are you going to do now?” Sasha asked, her curiosity getting the best of her. Marcy shrugged at her. “I don't know. I guess we'll just see where things go,” she said, trying to sound nonchalant about the whole thing even though she was completely freaking out inside.

Sasha closed her eyes as she let out a long sigh at Marcy's response, running one of her hands through her blonde hair frustratedly before as she did so before opening her eyes and looking at Marcy through the screen again. “You two are dorks, I can't believe you two” Sasha muttered teasingly as she smiled softly at the ravenette on her phone screen.

Saturday, 25.

“It hurts!” Anne whined as her leg continued to bleed after injuring it while attempting to beat Sasha in a race. “Just hold still, Anne!” Sasha insisted with an irritated expression on her face as she tried cleaning up Anne's injuried leg with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol.

“I'm trying!” Anne complained loudly, letting out another pained whine as Sasha dabbed alcohol onto the open gash that was bleeding sluggishly. “Ah, stop!” Anne exclaimed as Sasha continued to clean up her wound. “Sorry, Anne, but it'll heal faster that way. So, stop complaining or I won't be able to finish patching you up.” Sasha threatened playfully with a stern voice.

Anne tried her best to remain stoic and control her pained noises as Sasha continued what she was doing. After a few minutes, Sasha had finally finished cleaning her wound and wrapped it in bandages. Anne winced as she felt the cool and smooth material touching the tender skin on her wound while Sasha tied the bandages securely around her injured knee.

“There, all done. Now, you can breathe,” Sasha sarcastically quipped at Anne who let out a deep breath of relief as she felt her wound starting to numb slightly. “Thank you,” Anne mumbled gratefully to her best friend. “It's no problem except for your whining like you were dying,” Sasha snorted lightly.

“How is it?” Sasha asked suddenly after a moment. “I can't feel my leg,” Anne stated bluntly. “You're kidding. ” Sasha shot back sarcastically. “No, I mean like… is it better? Does it still hurt? Can you walk?” Sasha questioned while gesturing to the bandages she put on Anne's leg.

Anne tested her leg by slowly standing up from the bed and taking small steps across the room. “It still hurts a bit but it's much better now. Thanks, Sash,” Anne replied with a small smile as she moved her leg around to test it out some more. “Good. Now don't forget that you owe me a favor because of this,” Sasha told Anne smugly.

“What but I'm your friend, don't you have to do this for me?” Anne protested. “Nope! nothing in life is free, Anne~” Sasha sang out happily. “Fine, fine, I owe you one!” Anne huffed in defeat before she slumped down on her bed. “You're a jerk.” Anne mumbled under her breath.

“But you love me still, don't you?” Sasha cooed sweetly as she winked at Anne who narrowed her eyes at her. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Anne responded with a roll of her eyes, not really wanting to boast the blonde's ego by agreeing with the statement.

“One of these days, your pride is going to be crushed.” Anne declared, earning herself a laugh from Sasha in return. “That's never going to happen” Sasha stated confidently with a confident smirk on her lips. Anne couldn't help but smile at Sasha in amusement as she watched the blonde.

“You never know! the unexpected can always happen too, Sash” Anne retorted jokingly. “Yeah, yeah, I'm sure something totally unexpected is going to happen to me one of these days” Sasha laughed sarcastically back. Anne was silent for a brief moment before replying to the blonde.

“You're definitely going to jinx yourself one of these days, Sash.” Anne told her best friend. “Life loves me too much, Anne” Sasha replied with a playful grin, not taking Anne's words seriously. Anne shook her head, still amused by Sasha's confidence.

“Well, I hope life continues to love you then,” Anne replied, her tone lighthearted. “Trust me, it will.” Sasha assured her. While Anne was amused by the blonde's confidence, she was also very much annoyed by it. Anne groaned “Ugh, can you stop being so smug for a minute?” she demanded in frustration.

“Nope.” Sasha replied quickly before cheerfully giving Anne a playful bump on her shoulder. “Hey! I'm a patient, you can't do this to me” Anne exclaimed, laughing softly at Sasha's antics as she playfully nudged back against the blonde's shoulder in return.

The two friends talked happily for a little longer until Sasha noticed that Anne's eyelids began to droop slightly. “Aw, look at you. Are you that tired already with how much we've been talking?” Sasha teased as she poked the top of Anne's head.

The brunette opened her eyes to glare at Sasha, her cheeks turning dark red at the blonde's teasing before closing them back up. “Yes, I actually am,” Anne retorted indignantly with a pout before yawning loudly. Sasha smiled as she gently rubbed Anne's shoulder soothingly. “You should get some sleep then,” the blonde advised her best friend softly as she leaned forward to lend her shoulder for Anne to rest her head on.

Anne smiled slightly before leaning her head against Sasha's shoulder comfortably, resting comfortably against the blonde's shoulder as if it was a pillow as she felt the blonde's warmth radiate through her body pleasantly as she relaxed against her. “Maybe tomorrow, when we hang out, I can return your favor for me today” Anne mumbled softly, sounding sleepy.

A slight chuckle escaped Sasha's mouth in response to Anne's comment. “I was just kidding with the favor thing, Anne” Sasha whispered to the brunette quietly with a small smile on her lips. “I'm still doing it though” Anne murmured almost immediately in response before slipping into unconsciousness.

“Of course, you are” Sasha murmured as she brushed her fingers through the brunette's soft locks. She looked at Anne with a warm, loving gaze as she watched the brunette drift off to sleep. “But maybe you can just give me a kiss instead.” Sasha added before kissing Anne's forehead tenderly and leaning her head against hers. “Sleep well, Anne” she whispered fondly before closing her eyes too.

— ◇ —

The sun slowly disappeared as night fell over Los Angeles. Anne and Sasha sleeping next to each other in Anne's bed as Mr. and Mrs.Boonchuy checked up on them by opening Anne's bedroom door a little to get a small peek at them

“They fell asleep together” Mr.Boonchuy commented as he stared at his only daughter sleeping right beside her best friend on her bed. “Eh, really?” Ms.Boonchuy added in surprise. “Yeah.” Mr. Boonchuy sighed heavily with a soft smile on his face. “I guess they had a nice time together that they got this tired after it” Mr.Boonchuy chuckled in amusement.

“Looks like movie night is canceled for today then” Mrs.Boonchuy remarked, looking at both of the girls affectionately. “I guess Marcy can come by tomorrow and watch with us too then” Mr. Boonchuy added, shrugging his shoulders at his wife who stood beside him as he did so.

Mrs.Boonchuy nodded in agreement with him before closing Anne's bedroom door quietly, leaving the two girls alone with no disturbance with each other as they fell asleep. She slowly made her downstairs, Mr.Boonchuy following after her joyfully.

As the two girls continued to sleep, they both shifted in their sleep. Anne moved closer to Sasha until their bodies were touching before Sasha instinctively wrapped her arm around her, pulling the brunette even closer to her.

Anne and Sasha slumbered peacefully, oblivious to their surroundings, and cocooned in each other's arms as if nothing else in the world mattered besides the warmth and security of their embrace.

Chapter Text

The next morning, Anne woke up to find herself wrapped up in Sasha's arms. She smiled to herself as she watched the sleeping girl beside her. Sasha looked peaceful, like a small animal just curled up for a long nap. Anne brushed back strands of blond hair from her face and ran a hand gently over her cheek.

As Anne was tracing Sasha's cheek with her fingers, the blonde stirred awake slowly. Her eyes fluttered open and found Anne staring into them, their faces only inches apart. Anne smiled at her shyly and pulled away, withdrawing her hand back from Sasha's cheek. “Sorry, did I wake you up?” Anne asked sheepishly, sitting up straight in bed.

Sasha blinked a few times, trying to shake off the grogginess of sleep and looked up at Anne with a lazy smile. “No, you didn't wake me up.” Sasha replied, sitting up in Anne's bed and stretching her arms above her head. “But, uh, what were you doing just now?” she asked, glancing down at Anne's hand that had been touching her face previously.

Anne's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she tried to think of how to respond. She didn't want to make things awkward between them but she also didn't want to lie. “I-I...was just admiring how peaceful you looked” Anne finally admitted, hoping that Sasha wouldn't think it was weird.

Sasha looked at her curiously, studying her expression for a moment before a small smile appeared on her face. “Well, that's very sweet of you, Boonchuy” she said, reaching over to take Anne's hand in hers. “But you don't have to be shy about it, you know. I like it when you touch me.” Sasha added, giving the younger woman’s hand an affectionate squeeze.

“Especially when we cuddle.” She added with a mischievous wink. Anne giggled nervously and nodded, looking anywhere but Sasha's smiling face. “Right” she whispered. Sasha chuckled softly, noticing Anne's shyness. “You're cute when you're flustered, you know that?” she said teasingly, pulling Anne closer to her and wrapping her arms around her.

Anne's heart fluttered at the contact, feeling herself relax slightly against Sasha's body. The blonde nuzzled into her hair before kissing the top of her head. A small blush crept across Anne's face and she buried her face in the crook of Sasha's neck to hide her blush, groaning as she did so. Sasha laughed quietly, amused at Anne's embarrassed reaction.

The two girls lay there in silence for a while, enjoying each other's company and the warmth of the morning sun streaming through the window.

Tuesday, 28.

“Marcy, your friend is looking for you.” Marcy turned around to see one of her classmates gesturing towards the entrance of the classroom where Anne stood, looking around for her. Marcy felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of Anne, feeling a sudden urge to just run towards her and wrap her in a tight embrace.

Marcy shook her head, quickly dismissing the idea before walking quickly to where Anne was standing. “Hey Anne.” she greeted once they'd reached each other. “What's up?” she asked, smiling at the Thai girl.

Anne looked down at her feet, suddenly feeling awkward and unsure.

“Um, I don't really know..” Anne mumbled. “I-I just wanted to see you, I guess..?” Anne turned her attention to Marcy, smiling at her while she was rubbing her arm nervously. Marcy blushed slightly at what Anne said before giving her a warm smile.

“I— Well, I'm really glad you came to see me.” Marcy said with a soft smile. “But I still have classes right now, so we can't hang out at the moment.” Marcy paused, looking at Anne with a hint of disappointment in her eyes. “But I'll see you at lunch, okay?" She reached out and gently squeezed Anne's arm before turning to head back into the classroom.

As she walked away, Marcy couldn't help but feel a flutter in her stomach at the thought of spending more time with Anne later.

She felt the same way whenever she spent time with Sasha too. The idea of spending time with both Anne and Sasha made Marcy's heart race with excitement.

It made sense. She loved both of them, after all.

“You're very cute, Mar-Mar.” Sasha smiled warmly at her friend, leaning next to her on the living room couch of the Boonchuy's house. They were waiting for Anne in the living room while she dressed upstairs in their room.

Marcy blushed lightly and looked at Sasha, bashfully. “Really?” She asked. Sasha nodded with an encouraging grin. “If I was a boy, I would definitely marry you.” Sasha stated matter of factly.

“I mean, look at you! You're very smart and pretty, Marcy. How could someone not marry you in the future?” Sasha grinned again, watching fondly as Marcy's cheeks turned completely red.

“And Anne's really sweet, too. I could get used to spending every single day with you and her.” Sasha added. Marcy couldn't help herself but smile warmly at her. “M-me too.” Marcy replied, thinking about the possibility of being with both Anne and Sasha in the future.

Just then, they heard footsteps coming down the stairs and turned to see Anne walking towards them, her hair neatly tied up in a low ponytail. She was wearing a purple dress with a gray cardigan draped over her shoulders.

“Hey!” Anne exclaimed upon seeing the two girls. “Sorry, I took so long. Mom didn't like the clothes I wanted to wear so she made me wear these instead.” Anne explained, motioning to the clothing she was wearing. Marcy and Sasha stared at her in awe. “Y-you look good, Anne!” Sasha managed to stammer out eventually, smiling awkwardly at her best friend. Marcy simply nodded in agreement.

“Thanks, guys!” Anne beamed at them. “Should I get my dad to drop us off now at Sasha's dad?” Anne asked, looking between the two of them.

“Yeah, let's go!” Sasha jumped up excitedly, grabbing Marcy's wrist to pull her along behind her as Anne led the way to the front door.

“I wanna die.” Anne groaned as she hid her face in her hands. She was currently seated next to Sasha and Marcy at their usual lunch table spot during lunchtime,  sulking. “Was it that bad? You only talked to Jamie for a few minutes, Anne.” Marcy asked, looking worriedly at Anne as she spoke. “It wasn't just bad, Marbles! It was terrible because I finally know why Jamie hasn't been hanging out with me that much.” Anne whined.

“Why?” Sasha questioned her, tilting her head to the side in curiosity as Anne  sighed loudly in reply. “Jamie thought I had a crush on her.” Anne said with a defeated tone. Sasha immediately burst out laughing while Marcy gave Anne, a sympathetic look.

“Wow, that sucks.” Sasha commented, still laughing slightly while she earned an annoyed groan from Anne.

“Stop laughing, I already feel  embarrassed enough!” Anne complained, glaring at the blonde haired girl. “Sorry, I just find it hilarious she actually thought that you had a crush on her.” Sasha said after calming herself down. Anne frowned deeply at the comment, crossing her arms across her chest poutily. Marcy tried to comfort her by patting her on the shoulder.

“It’s okay, Anne.” Marcy said reassuringly.  “We can talk to her about this if you want.” Marcy suggested. “I already cleared everything up with her but it's still embarrassing that she thought I liked her that way!” Anne explained, earning a chuckle from Marcy. “You can't really blame her. I mean, you gave her way too much gifts, people practically thought you wanted to ask her out.” Sasha interjected.

Anne huffed in annoyance, looking away from both of them. “So, what? You guys hang out with me almost every day, some people EVEN think we're all dating each other.” Anne grumbled, looking back at them now. Sasha and Marcy's face turned bright red and they averted their gaze from Anne's. Both of them coughed  awkwardly as Anne looked at them  expectantly, waiting for their response.

“I-I didn't even know about that..” Marcy  muttered, trying to act nonchalant. “I think they all just misunderstood, I call both of you ‘girlfriends’ so it's possible that they got that wrong…” Sasha mumbled. Anne raised an eyebrow at her. “Even my parents thought we were somehow dating each other.” Anne responded.

WHAT?!” Sasha and Marcy shouted, finally meeting Anne's eyes with theirs. Both girls looked shocked at what Anne said, their mouths agape as they sat there, stunned.

“I don't blame them. Both of you cling to me like a glue, I hardly remember a day where I wasn't with you two.” Anne teased, grinning mischievously at them. Sasha and Marcy flushed at the comment, looking at the floor sheepishly as they tried to come up with a reply to Anne.

“Well I wouldn't say clingy…. But yeah, sure, that's true.” Sasha trailed off in embarrassment, unable to meet Anne's eyes. “Yeah, Anne, we just enjoy spending time with you” Marcy added, smiling softly at the brunette. Anne laughed. “I know, I feel the same way about you both” Anne admitted.

The three of them continued to chat and laugh over lunch, forgetting about the awkward moment from earlier.

Chapter Text

Ugh, this is so stupid!” Anne groaned as she crumpled up her paper and threw it at the bin in her room across from where she was sitting on the floor. “I don't know who to write a poem about!” She cried out in frustration. She'd been stuck with re-writing and rewriting for days now because none of the poem she wrote seemed good enough for her teacher in English class.

“Write a poem about someone you love and read it out loud to class” Anne sarcastically muttered to herself. “Are you kidding me?!” Anne loudly scoffed.

Out of all the things they could assign us to make an assignment about, they want us to make a poem about someone we love’ Anne thought bitterly.

“Marcy would totally love making a poem for an assignment” Anne sighed.

“Marcy, look what I got from the beach!” Anne exclaimed as she held up a small seashell to Marcy's face. Marcy looked at it with awe, the sunlight reflecting off its surface and casting a soft glow onto Anne's face.

“It's so pretty” Marcy replied, looking at Anne briefly before focusing her attention back on the shell. “I know, right?” Anne responded, grinning from ear to ear. “It's like you, Marcy!” Marcy blushed at the compliment, feeling her heart skip a beat at Anne's words. “What do you mean?” Marcy questioned, turning to look at Anne. “I mean, it's pretty and unique, just like you” Anne replied, her voice soft and sincere.

“R-Really?” Marcy asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Anne nodded before smiling at her. “Yeah, and it's perfect for you!” Anne reached out her hand, offering the seashell to Marcy. Marcy took the seashell from Anne's hand hesitantly. “Are you sure about this, Anne?” Marcy asked, looking at the other young girl carefully. Anne nodded, her smile still bright.

“Of course, I was planning on giving it to you anyways” Anne responded, her cheeks reddening slightly. Marcy smiled  softly at Anne. “I'm keeping this with me until I'm old.” Marcy placed the seashell on her bedroom bedside table. “You don't have—” Anne began but was cut off by the ravennette suddenly hugging her tightly.

Her eyes widened slightly in surprise before she wrapped her arms around Marcy gently and returned her hug. For  the next few moments, both girls remained silent, simply embracing each other before Marcy decided to pull herself away from Anne. “Thank you, Anne” Marcy said quietly with a small smile. Anne returned her smile with one of her own.

“Anytime, Marcy.”

I can't believe this!” Marcy exclaimed, running her hands through her hair in frustration. “Do the teachers think we're all robots or something?!” Marcy complained, slamming her head down onto the desk before her. “Sweetie, are you okay?” Marcy's mother worriedly asked, peeking through the half open door of her daughter's bedroom.

“No, I'm miserable.” Marcy replied, her voice muffled by her desk. Her mother chuckled before slowly entering her room and putting a hand on her shoulder. “Now why is my daughter miserable?” She inquired softly. The tone in her voice caused Marcy to sigh deeply before she finally lifted her head away from her desk. “My English teacher wants the whole class to make a poem about someone we love” Marcy informed her mom, leaning back against her chair.

Marcy felt bad for complaining so much about it but she couldn't really help herself. “Is that so?” Marcy's mom asked. “Well then why don't you just make a poem of your best friends, Sasha and Anne?” Marcy's mom suggested. Marcy's eyes lit up slightly at her mother's suggestion before she quickly shook her head. “That's a bit embarrassing to do, Mom.” Marcy replied quietly. “How is that embarrassing? Anne's mother and I sung together for your class once.” Her mom pointed out. “T-That's different! If I made my poems based on Sasha and Anne, everyone in class might think..” Marcy trailed off, looking down the floor of her bedroom. “That I'm some kind of weirdo” Marcy finished lamely.

“Weirdo?” Marcy's mom chuckled again. “Sweetie, if you're worrying about them thinking you like them. Don't.” Marcy's  mom insisted gently. “Most people can't tell the difference between girl pals and girlfriends anyway” Marcy's mother  pointed out in amusement. Marcy smiled at her mom gratefully. “Thanks, Mo- Wait, what do you mean by people can't tell the difference between girl pals and girlfriends?” Marcy suddenly questioned, her eyes slightly widened after she realized what her mother told her.

“Oh.” Marcy's mom laughed sheepishly. “Aren't you three dating?” Marcy's mother teased. Marcy's face turned entirely red at her words. “D-Dating?!” Marcy stammered, feeling heat rush to her cheeks. “MOMW-We're not like that!” Marcy protested, blushing harder by the second. Her mother just grinned knowingly and gave her daughter a light pat on the shoulder. “It's fine, sweetheart. I've had my fair share of women back in my days” Marcy's mom replied, giving her a wink before walking out of the room.

At the Waybright's Residence.

“This is boring.” Sasha complained, switching the channel to a different channel again. “Then stop changing the channel and find something else better to do.” Sasha's dad gave her an unimpressed look and returned his attention to the newspaper he was reading. Sasha sighed dramatically. “You and Mom are so boring.” Sasha whined.

“I'll have you know, your mother and I are very fun people.” Sasha's dad replied smugly. “Really?” Sasha snorted derisively.  “Really.” Sasha's dad repeated. “I don't believe it until I see it.” Sasha  rolled her eyes. “Mom said you used to sell oranges at school and that you asked her out back at high school with a ring pop.” Sasha grinned widely at her dad who stared incredulously.

Ha! Says the woman who tried getting free pizza by offering a free date to me.” Sasha's dad scoffed. “And your mother used to say I was quite a player back in high school while she played with both genders.” Sasha's  dad added, smirking as if that was supposed to mean something. Sasha's eyes widened in surprise. “Wait, what— Mom dated girls?!” Sasha  exclaimed.

“I wouldn't say she dated them but oh yeah, your mother was quite the catch.” Sasha's dad  commented, grinning proudly. “I was lucky to win her over with how handsome and dashing I was back in my youth.” Sasha's dad reminisced fondly. “I think she just pitied you, Dad.” Sasha laughed. “Shut up, I was handsome than any of the guys she previously dated.” Sasha's dad playfully replied.

“Yeah, sure.” Sasha rolled her eyes again.
