Naruto x Bleach
It was the feeling of small, slightly chubby fingers poking her cheek that woke Sakura up, her eyes peeled open, taking a minute to stare up at the ceiling and blink the sleep out of her eyes before she turned her head to the small boy besides her.
Light blue hair greeted her gaze just as equally emerald green irises met hers. The adorable four year old currently sitting on her bed smiled brightly at her, lunging forward to hug her.
"Morning Mama!." He chirped, awfully cheerful at seven in the morning.
"Takashi." She grumbled playfully, arms shooting up to wrap around his small body and roll them both over so she could snuggle him, ignoring the giggly squirming he was doing.
"Let mama sleep a little, would you?."
"But I'm hungry." He mumbled back and Sakura could practically hear the pout in his voice.
Ah, the stomach of a four year old, always hungry, never has enough to eat and always wants much more than they can chew.
"Really? What do you want to eat then?." She pressed a kiss to his temple and waited for his answer, might as well get up now because it looks like she wouldnt be getting more sleep any time sooner.
"Hmm.... I want Soup!."
Sakura laughed.
"What kind of soup, puppy?."
He took a minute to think about it, snuggling into her embrace while he was at it.
"..Mushroom soup." He finally decided.
Sakura smiled, her kid was the most adorable, obedient little boy ever and he didnt give trouble to eat his veggies, in fact he absolutely loves them.
She sighed, pressing one last kiss to Takashi's head before rolling out of bed, leaving him giggling in her place.
A yawn pulled her lips apart as she opened the bedroom door wider, turning to give her som a stern look.
"Did you brush your teeth?."
He sat up so fast, small hands flying up to clamp over his mouth in the most dramatic way she has ever seen, he even added a little gasp in there.
"Oops."
"Oops my left foot," She rolled her eyes, placing her hands on her hips.
"I cant believe I just kissed someone with such a stinky mouth."
"But you have a stinky mouth too mama." He said, grin on his little face.
Why this cheeky little.. Sakura's heart was filled with so much love and affection for her child, even if he's the most sassy, cheeky kid she ever gave birth too.
"That's because a little gremlin decided to wake me up before it was time, and you have been awake before me, so you have a stinky mouth longer." Really, she is encouraging this cheeky behaviour, but it's her kid, she'll grow him up, however she wants to.
"Now hurry up and go brush your teeth, otherwise no breakfast."
Takashi hurried to scramble of the bed, giggling as he ran past his mama who playfully swatted him on the bum and straight into the bathroom just across his Mama's bedroom.
Sakura meanwhile got the ingredients ready for the soup her son wanted, quickly brushing her own teeth at the kitchen while the water shimmied.
She was just giving the creamy soup a stir when the pitter patter of tiny feet reached her ear just as a warm weight slammed Into her left leg.
"Ready for breakfast, puppy?."
"Mmm! My tummy went 'Grr!' In the room" He explained nodding his head against her knee like that explained everything in a four year olds mind.
"It did?." She said, amused, filling two bowls with soup and placing it on a tray, then she grabbed the small grilled cheese sandwiches she prepared as well and turned to head to the table.
"Well, hurry up and sit let's not have your tummy complain anymore."
Takashi hurried over to the Koutasu, shuffling his small feet under the covers and sat up with an excited shake of his body. Sakura let out a soft huff as she placed his breakfast in front of him, she didnt have to tell him to blow before putting the spoon to his lips because he already knew that.
The backdoor to her home opened unexpectedly, as usual, and in walked one of her three brothers, the youngest that is, hands in his pockets and a grumpy look on his face.
"Do you want breakfast, Sasuke?." She asked looking at him from where she sat.
"...I already ate, but what did you make?." He said heading into her kitchen anyways.
"This one here wanted mushroom soup, so that's what i made along with some cheese sandwiches. Help yourself. "
He grunted in acknowledgment and quickly made his way back to them with a small bowl of soup and half a sandwich.
He ruffled Takashi's hair as he passed, getting a whine out of his nephew which made him snicker.
"Let him eat would you?." She huffed, reaching over to smack his arm.
Sasuke snickered again but relented at her request, digging into the food she made with gusto.
"What did mom make this morning?."
"Stuffed buns and Yakisoba." Sasuke mumbled around his mouthful. He grimaced as a sudden thought popped into his head and placed his bowl down slowly.
"What's wrong?." Sakura asked noticing immediately when her little brothers shifted.
"Did something happen?"
"I got a call this morning." He said slowly, letting her prepare herself.
"It was from...Ichigo. "
Sakura's spine went stiff at the mention of...one of her... former friends? She doesn't even know anymore.
"Ichigo? ." She repeated.
"I.... what did he want?."
Sasuke sighed, bringing a hand up to rub his forehead.
"Truth is... Ichigo has been calling me for the past few years since you left." He said darting at look at his nephew to see the boy still immersed in his meal.
"He said that if he tried to call to see how you were doing.. you would just simply reject his calls."
Of course she would! Kurosaki Ichigo is the best friend of that...that... she deflated, not having the strength to even his name in her mind.
"I have been doing fine since I left that town and I'm more than fine now that I'm on my own." And she meant it.
Sakura had moved to KaraKura Town because somehow the college system over there was topnotch, it was there that she had meet the so called 'love of her life' Haaah. Now that Sakura thought about it... She was such a fool to fall in love with such a man.
The first friend she had made as she entered college, was Kurosaki Ichigo, the boy with the unique orange hair and amber eyes quickly making friends with the girl with the hot pink hair and emerald green eyes. They got along like ring and finger from day one, Ichigo also came with a lot of guy friends, much to the displeasure of her brothers.
She didnt exactly plan on making any friends, that's for sure. Being the over cautious, hot blooded, short tempered little thing that she was it was a surprise to her as well just how quickly she became attached to Ichigo. Maybe it was he reminded her about her eldest brother in some way, or maybe it was because his presence was soothing and chaotic at the same time.
Moving on through the couple months they started interacting, she got to meet his hooligan friends one by one... However the moment she meet...him was different.
She shouldn't have been so naive back then, so trusting when she rarely ever let's people in, so what the hell had made him so special to break through her walls so easily, walls that were built so high that it was literally impossible to climb over.
Grimmjow was his name, a bad boy name to fit the bad boy image. And it was a really bad thing that Sakura was an absolute sucker for bad boys.
Especially Grimmjow with his bright electric blue hair and eyes.
It wasnt love at first sight, per say. Sakura was attracted to him yes, but she didnt make it easy for him either. And when the cat and mouse game finally ended and they were together. Sakura enjoyed those moments the best.
And... as everyone knows, all good things must come to a end, dont they?.
A year and a half later, Sakura saw him kissing a busty blonde haired girl in the middle of the parking lot leading up to their apartment. Sakura had stared for a few minutes flat, fists clenched at her sides and a hollow, numb feeling gnawing at the middle of her chest.
Sakura had turned on her heel and marched away, determined not to let the tears burning at the corner of her eyes fall, she rather die that let those tears loose.
"Mama?."
The sound of her son's voice broke her out of thoughts of the past. Her eyes landed on the only good thing that she got out of that relationship, she had been a couple months pregnant when she left without a word, deep into the night and far away from KaraKura.
The annoying, ironic thing was though, she still loved that bastard, still had him in her heart, he was her first everything, Sakura doesn't think she'll be able to forget him that easily even if it's been years.
"I can tell him to fuck right off if you want to." Sasuke grunted, ripping a peice of his sandwich to dip into the soup.
Sakura shook her head with a small sigh, it's been years now she hasn't seen Ichigo, to know that he's been in contact with her younger brother ever since then, inquiring about her well being made a small part of her glow with warmth.
"Its fine." She said, leaning forward to wipe a small bit of sauce away from the corner of Takashi's mouth.
"I wouldnt mind seeing Ichigo again."
Her brother nodded his head as his mouth was to full to speak before he paused, hed stilling as a suddenly thought popped into his head. This brows furrowed in such a way it made his nephew giggle at him.
"What is it?."
Sasuke looked up at her with a tense look on his face.
"Sakura... did Ichigo know you were pregnant before you left?."
That actually stopped her short, because no, she didnt tell a soul that she was with child... she was on her way to tell Grimmjow, seeing how he was the father and all that, but we all knew how that ended.
"...No...I didnt tell anyone that I was pregnant."
Sasuke shoulders slumped In a mixture of relief and fond disbelief.
"I dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
"A good thing I would say." She huffed, getting up from her position on the carpeted floor and walked into the kitchen with the dirty dishes.
"Imagine everyone's reaction when they fine out that I was pregnant with Grimmjow's child."
"That's not what I was going for right now." Sasuke said loudly, reaching to poke his nephew in the tummy.
"Now we have to let Ichigo know that you had Grimmjow's kid." He grimaced at the thought.
"That's gonna be another pain in the ass."
"Uncle said a bad word." Takashi gasped, one small palm covering his mouth as the other pointed a tiny finger at his uncle.
"You have to put a dollar in the swear jar!."
"Swear jar? I'll show you swear jar! Sakura say goodbye to your kid."
Said woman rolled her eyes at the playful squealing and laughter that came from behind her.
She dried her hands on the dish towel next to her before walking back into the living room where her brother had her son on his lap, tickling him nonstop. The sweet sound of Takashi's laughter had Sakura smiling.
"Did he change his phone number?."
Sasuke's fingers paused mid tickle to look up at her.
"I dont know, I never had his number before I have no idea why you gave him mines in the first place." At this he sent her an accusing glare like it was her fault he was in this predicament in the first place.
"You guys were my emergency contacts, it's not my fault He randomly chose your number to call."
"Maybe he thinks I'm less intimidating than Itachi and Shisui. " A wicked smirk graced Sasuke's lips then.
"Heh, he's in for a rude surprise then."
Sakura gave her brother a deadpanned look, the guy has been talking to one of her friends secretly for years and now he wants to be scary?
Seriously, her family had issues.
Sakura ran her fingers through silky blue strands as Takashi and her settled in for their afternoon nap.
Her mind was in circles right now, the 'what ifs' and 'How would Ichigo react.'
Sakura rolled her eyes at her own silliness. If there was ever an issue about Takashi's dad, Sakura made sure that there wasnt. That was the first thing she did as soon as her son was able to understand anything, she told him who his father was, and why he didnt want them.
Being the intelligent and loveable boy that he was, Takashi had shed a few tears upon learning the truth of why he had one parent. Her brilliant boy had wiped his tears, leaned forward to press his cheek against hers and said in a clear, strong voice.
"If daddy doesn't want us, that's his fault, I'll stay with Mama forever."
Heh, it was the first time in years Sakura cried so hard.
The sound of her phone ringing brought her out of her memories. Sakura reached to the side, palm smacking against the bedside table blindly until her fingers grasped the shiny slick device and without looking at who was actually calling her, she slid the icon to the side and brought it to her ear.
"Hello?." Her sleep filled voice rasped, there was silence on the line and Sakura thought someone must be prank calling her.
"Okay then.."
Just as she was about to end the call, the person on the other side finally spoke.
"Fuck, it feels so good to hear your voice after so much years." Said the husky voice she hadn't heard in years.
There was another pause, her heartbeat loud in her ear as her brain tried to put together a single thought, fresh tears springed up at the corner of her eyes, making their way silently down her cheeks.
"...Ichigo.."
"The one and only." He chuckled hoarsely like he was on the verge of tears himself.
"Hell, I have missed you so much, Sakura. "
"I've.. missed you too." Well it wasnt a lie she just wasnt sure If he would continue to be her friend seeing how she suddenly up and left the friend he knew longer.
"How...have you been?."
"Life sucks," Is his immediate reply, making her snort out a laugh, keeping her volume low to not wake her son.
"It sucked back then and it still sucks now."
"I'm sure everything you encounter sucks." She teased, it felt good to banter with her old friend Like this, it was something she missed so much that she hadn't dare hope she could have it again.
"Yea well." He sighed into the speaker.
"Since you disappeared, life hasn't been fun anymore. "
"I'm pretty sure you were doing just fine before you met me." She said, Takashi shifted against her chest, making her heart skip a beat, now that's another topic to discuss with Ichigo.
"When..am I seeing you?."
"I would be there in a heartbeat if you say now."
Sakura let a slow smile grace her lips, shaking her head.
"What are you, the Japanese version of Superman?."
"Haah.. never thought about like that." He said intrigued.
"Maybe I am."
"In your dreams you mean." She retorted
"Because only in your dreams you'll ever be a superhero. "
"Wow." He said, voice dry.
"Hit a man where it hurts huh."
Another pause before he spoke again.
"..I'll be there before lunch tomorrow, does that work fine for you?."
Sakura's heart ached at how considerate this fucker was to her, always putting her needs in front of his, Sakura was glad she had a best friend like Ichigo.
"That sounds fine," She sighed.
"There's one other surprise for you tomorrow. "
"Really, what kind of surprise?." The curiosity in his voice had her smiling.
"Guess you'll find out tomorrow. "
After some grumbling from his side and whining for her to tell him, which she vehemently refused, he said his goodbyes with the promise to meet her for lunch tomorrow.
Sakura's heart felt light for the rest of the day.
"Who are we meeting, Mama." Little Takashi asked, watching as his mommy pulled her long pink hair up into a high ponytail.
"We're going to meet one of Mommy's friends." She told him gently, smoothing his hair back.
"Someone mommy hasn't seen in a long time."
"Like Daddy?." He asked innocently.
Even if that bastard cheated on her, even if he ruthlessly never gave a damn about her, Sakura would always have feelings for Grimmjow, the way her heart ached at the mention of him was a constant reminder.
"Yes.. like daddy." With a sigh she got up to finish getting them both dressed.
The little restaurant they were meeting at was just on the outside of Konoha, moving back home after that whole fiasco made Sakura realize just how much she had missed home.
But enough of that, where the hell was Kurosaki Ichigo? The bugger said to meet him here at lunch and it was now 12:50, way past lunch.
Sakura swears when he gets here, she's going to-
"Hey."
That voice sounds so very different in front of her than over the phone. Sakura whirled around, Takashi out of sight, hidden behind her body for now.
Orange hair was the first thing that greeted her vision, then came the amber eyes.
The face she was staring at looked more mature, the baby fat from his cheeks gone, making way for a sharp cheekbone and a even sharper jawline.
"..That cant be you Ichigo. " She said a huge smile taking over her face.
"Look at you, even more handsome than the last time I saw you." Sakura stood, taking exactly two steps towards the man in front of her before he was sweeping her off her feet and into his arms where he proceeded to squeeze her in a hug much to long overdue.
"Have you seen yourself in a mirror? Sakura you've grown out your hair, you look like a model!." He laughed pulling back to smack a wet kiss to her forehead. Sakura's nose scrunched up at the gesture.
"Hah, dont make me laugh, I bet you've been breaking hearts left, right and center."
"You say that like he gets any action to begin with." The new, higher pitched voice had Sakura pullimg back from Ichigo's embrace to face the white haired doppelganger.
Oh how could she have forgotten, wherever Ichigo goes, his twin always follows.
"...Shiro?."
Said guy spread his arms wide, a manic grin on his face.
"The one and only, who else did you think it was? God?."
Sakura bursted out laughing as his arms wrapped tightly around her body.
"Pfftt, I have forgotten how the both of you could be one big pain in my neck."
Shiro was about to reply, when Takashi's voice piped up curiously.
"Mama, who is that?."
Said Mama sighed fondly as the twin's mouths fell open at the same time, leaving them both gaping at her son, who was sitting upright in his seat, hands folded neatly in his lap, feet swinging slightly under the table with his head tilted to the side, big emerald green eyes looked at her and the two stunned men in question.
"....What the fuck is that?." Shiro was the first one to burst, face scrunched up in the most ridiculous look she had ever seen.
Sakura smacked him over the head for that comment, her lips twitching in amusement.
"My son isnt a that." She emphasized with another smack to his arm.
"Your son?!." The twins exclaimed in unison, flaggeerblasted looks on their faces making Takashi giggle.
"Why the hell does your son look like a miniature Grimmjow?!."
"He's Grimmjow's kid, obviously. "
The brother's turned their gaping towards her now, eyes growing in size.
"Grimm's Kid." Ichigo mumbled, eyes flashing in realization.
"Is this why you left?."
"One of the reasons. " She shrugged.
"The other reason was because I saw him kissing some girl in the parking lot of our apartment, the day I was going to tell him I was pregnant with his kid."
Shiro stared at Takashi, eyes squinted slightly, her son stared right back, curious and she could see he wanted to ask who Shiro was.
"Girl?." Ichigo mumbled again, his face falling slack as the thought hit him.
"Was it..a blonde girl, big boobs."
Kami sama really? Boys she tells you.
"Yuuppp." She said popping the 'p'.
Ichigo stared at her for a few minutes flat before he swore, a hand coming up to fist into his hair.
"You have got to be fucking Kidding me!"
Takashi gasped loudly, rather dramatic she might add, a tiny finger pointed at Ichigo.
"You have put tips in the swear jar mister!."
Sakura and Shiro bursted out laughing as Ichigo huffed, plopping down next to Sakura's kid, ruffling his hair and grinning evily when the little boy protested loudly.
"What's your name buddy?."
The little version of Grimm looked up at him with bright eyes, a full smile on his lips.
"I'm Uchiha Takashi!. Who are you mister?."
Uchiha huh? Looks like Sakura didnt give him Grimm's last name, good thing too.
"I'm Ichigo and the white haired dude is my brother, Shiro. We're your mom's friends. "
"Mama's friends!." He gasped excitedly.
"Did you come here to see mama?."
"Of course we did. We didnt see her in a long time." Shiro said taking the search on Takashi's other side, making Sakura sit on the opposite side of the small table.
Ichigo suddenly looked up at her with a frown on his face, eyebrows knitted together.
"Does...does he know about Grimm?."
Sakura snorted giving him a really dry look.
"Do you think I'm one of those Stereotype mothers to hide the truth about my baby daddy? Hell no, I told Takashi about his father as soon as he was able to understand things."
"Wow." Shiro said staring at her with hearts in his eyes
"That's one badass mom you've got there buddy. "
Their lunch was spent with a lot of questions, a lot of really irritating answers and a giggly child in between.
"I mean, I tried calling you a hundred times." Ichigo was saying.
"It honestly wanted me to fling my phone to the far side of my room when you weren't answering." Then he proceeded to stiff his mouth with more noodles.
"Which is my side of the room, by the way. So anything that ends up there is mine." Shiro added snarky thing that he is.
"And then I remembered that you had given me your younger brother's number. " Ichigo carried on, ignoring his twin
"Man, the amount of trouble I got on that phone, I swear to Kami. "
Sakura snickered, her hands busy wiping away sauce from Takashi's mouth.
"All of my brothers are overprotective, that's only the youngest, you have yet to meet the two oldest. "
"I would like to keep my life, thank you very much." Ichigo responded dryly.
"Is Nii-chan scared of Uncle Shi and Uncle Tachi?." Takashi asked innocently.
Laughing, Sakura nodded her head with no remorse for the orange haired man opposite her.
"Yes, he's very sacred of Uncle Tachi anf uncle Shi."
Ichigo, whose heart practically melted when he heard Takashi call him 'Nii-chan' blinked out of the slight daze he was in.
"I havent met them yet, how can I be scared of them?."
Sakura wanted to see how he would react under the interrogation of her two older brothers. Let him talk big now.
That evening Sakura's mind drifted over to the Grimmjow, still the love of her life even if he did cheat on her, or that's what she kept telling herself.
Ichigo had explained to her just who the hell was that Busty Blonde Bitch, Harribel was her name and apparently she's been after Grimmjow for years now, and had thrown such a tantrum when she heard he was with Sakura.
Now that she thought about it. Did Harribel do something to make Grimmjow kiss her? Or did she know that Sakura was there, watching them?
It would make sense now wouldn't it? What better way to get rid of an unwanted obstacle in your path.
Their romance, according to Shiro, was an absolute fucking whirlwind.
There were many, many fights, a ton on disagreements and a whole lot of make up sex to add to the list.
The day she had found out she was pregnant is and always will be one of the happiest days of her life. Then it all went down hill that same evening. Che.
All this reminiscing had her heart aching, the feeling of yearning hitting her so powerfully it made her eyes sting with barely held back tears.
Sakura wrapped her arms around her sleeping son and buried her nose in his hair, inhaling the citrus kids shampoo she uses for him.
She wondered... if Grimmjow ever knew he had a son, how would that play out.
"Seriously. " Shisui grumbled, lifting his nephew onto his hips with a mock grunt. The little boy giggled at his antics.
"Why were you even talking to that guy anyways?."
Sakura huffed, pushing the trolley she had filled with an assortment of groceries.
"Ichigo and Shiro had both been my best friends since I had started college. "
"Yes, and?."
Sakura reached her hand out to poke her elder brother in the rib with one pointy finger.
"Leave them alone, they now knew why I left, cut them some slack."
"And why are they now knowing the truth?." Shisui asked, eyes narrowing on his younger sister even as his fingers tickled his nephew underneath his chin. Takashi shrieked with laughter.
"....Cause I didnt tell them anything before I left?."
He sighed, long and hard rolling his head back to look up at the convenience store ceiling they were at, asking the gods up there what the hell had went through Sakura's little head back then.
He looked back down at his nephew, seeing the boy look back at him with the very same eyes as his mother.
"Your mommy can be a bit silly sometimes, do you know that Kashi?."
The little one nodded his head sagely like he was So much more older than a mere four year old.
"Yes, Mama is really silly in the morning. " The little traitor chirped, Sakura sent her son a playful glare, reaching out to tweak his nose causing him to yelp.
"Mama!."
Shisui bursted out laughing, stepping out of Sakura's reach and twisted his body to shield the smaller one in his arms.
"Alright, enough with making the midget-".
"M'not a midget Uncle Shi!."
"-squirm like the little wiggly worm that he is."
Sakura rolled her eyes at the sudden bickering match between her older brother and her son.
"Shisui, how old are you aga-."
".....Sakura?."
The blood in Sakura's veins froze on instinct, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up straight in attention and her heart was beating so fast and loud that she swears Shisui could hear it from where he was standing.
"... Babe.... fuck it is you." Came the whispered curse, her heart skipped a beat at hearing that term of endearment.
Sakura stared straight ahead, watching as Shisui's face twisted into a look of pure rage, yet he kept his hold around Takashi gentle.
So with a stuttering breath, Sakura turned slowly, not knowing what to expect when she turned around.
Knowing that the person who her heart stilled longed for stood just a few feet behind her had her hands getting all clammy.
Yet the sight that greeted her, tugged at her heartstrings, That beloved blue hair was tousled, as if the owner didnt care if his appearance mattered or not, he was taller now, Sakura noted with a dazed mind, much more taller than when they were togeather, but maybe that's because she was just short.
Finally looking at his face, Sakura saw the bags under his eyes.
He stared at her for a few minutes, that honestly felt like hours, before he was striding toward her, long legs eating up the space between them in seconds.
His arms raised, fingers reaching out to touch, which was immediately aborted when he saw Shisui standing just behind her. His arm flopped to his sides listlessly, she was both relieved and annoyed at the same time.
A dark look flashed across his face at the speed that was impossible to catch, but Sakura did, she did.
"Brother." She blurted out before he could jump to conclusions.
"My brother." She clarified, watching his shoulders slump, it became clear to her then. That she wasnt the only who took their separation kindly.
Shisui grunted, eyes still on Grimmjow, who looked back at him with a blank Expression on his face.
"Fucking hell."
"You used a bad word, Uncle Shi!." The voice of his tiny nephew had Shisui snapping his head down to look at the boy, big green eyes looking up at him from underneath his Doraemon hat.
Grimmjow's eyes flickered to Takashi, taking in the boy's features, but before he could comment, still (because she is and always will be) the love of his life was turning her back to him once more and reaching out for the small boy, who willingly went into her arms. He watched as she whispered something to her brother, who scowled before he nodded his head, smacking a kiss to her forehead then grabbed the trolley from her hand and stalked off, looking back to give Grimmjow a look that promised pain if he so much as made a wrong move.
He nodded curtly, taking the message for what it was.
"Let's.. go somewhere else." Sakura muttered, turning her her heads to walk out of the Supermarket, and into the little cafe it had attached just to the side.
She walked in with a push of the door, waving at a blonde haired boy behind the counter.
"Naruto, I'm borrowing the backroom."
Said boy, Naruto waved his hand in dismissal, smiling brightly at the customer in front of him.
Sakura lead them to the back were there was a small coffee table along with two three seater couches. Grimmjow blinked as Sakura tugged him inside and closed the door.
"Sit." She commanded, pointing at one of the couches. He did as he was told, watching as Sakura placed her handbag on the coffee table.
"My best friend owns this cafe, it's the closest place I thought of." She then proceeded to place the kid on her hip onto his lap instead.
He looked down, as the kid looked up at him, silent before a smile broke across his lips.
"Hello Papa, I'm Takashi."
It suddenly felt as if his brain short circuited. Papa? What the hell. He watched dazed as Sakura reached forward to pull the cap off the boy's head, revealing equally blue hair to his sight.
"You..." He looked up at her, eyes suspiciously glazed and misty, a hand coming up to cradle Takashi in his lap.
".. You were pregnant?."
"I was." She crossed her arms at that, giving him a look.
"How did you find me?."
Grimmjow looked down at the boy, fiddling with with his shirt and leaned forward to press his lips to his son's forehead. This was his child, his own flesh and blood
"Takashi.. how old are you buddy?."
"I'm four!." He chirped, Grimmjow snapped his head up to look at the mother of his child, mouth opening to ask...
"I saw you." Sakura said and watched his mouth snap shut.
"The day I found out I was pregnant, I was on my way to tell you when I saw you, in the parking lot, kissing some blonde haired, big boob bitch."
"Mama.." her son said reproachful
"Yes, I know baby, Sorry."
"Blonde bitch?." Grimmjow muttered, browder frowned, trying to remember something from Five years ago. Suddenly his face transformed into a thunderous sneer, lips pulled back with sharp canines on full display.
"That Bitch."
Takashi let his head thump against his father's shoulder seemingly fed up with all these adults swearing today, Grimmjow smacked a kiss to his temple in apology.
"Sorry, buddy, I'll put a few dollars in the swear jar, okay?." He said, appeasing his son.
"Are you gonna explain yourself?."
Grimmjow looked mightly annoyed at that, his brows frowning so severely that she fears he's gonna to get wrinkles at a young age.
"I remember that day. " He said, lips lifting in a small snarl.
"She came to me that evening, something about how you weren't good enough for me after the long years we've been together. " He huffed, trying really hard not to curse In front of his son (his son!).
"What?." Sakura asked with a bewildered expression on her(really pretty) face.
"What the hell?."
"Yes, she was yammering on and on on how she was much more suited for me that the pink haired wretch I was with." He actually looked really pissed on her behalf and Sakura felt her heart ache at that.
"As I was telling her off, to go shove her so call feelings somewhere that isnt anywhere near me, she suddenly attacked me." He looked up, holding his hand out, praying that Sakura would take him, his expression brighten when the lovely woman in his sight slid her much smaller hand in his and allowed him to pull her gently onto his lap as well, seated just opposite his son, the two most important people in the world to him now.
"It must have been because she saw you there and wanted to prove something, but I'm guessing that you didnt stay long enough to see when I knocked her out?."
Sakura sputtered at that.
"Knock her out?." She said barely holding back a laugh, shoulders shaking.
"You actually hit a woman?."
"I wont call that a woman." He scoffed, a hand stroking up and down Sakura's back soothingly.
"She deserves it, and I really don't care, she caused this between us, she prevented us from have this, preventing me from being there when my son was born, I really fucking hate her and no one can tell me otherwise."
"..Papa." Takashi said softly, a cute frown on his face.
"I'm going to Tell Uncle Tachi. " he said like Grimmjow had any fucking idea who The Tachi was.
"My other brother." Sakura helpfully informed.
"How much brothers do you have?."
"I have three, two older and one younger." She answered proudly, giving her tiny son a wink.
Grimmjow snorted, before he suddenly turned serious, fingers reaching up to gently stroke her cheek.
"The next day I found your things gone, no note, no explanation, nothing." He whispered, agony cloaked in his voice.
"I tried to call your phone but when I couldn't get through was because you've either blocked my number or had changed phones, it felt like my entire world had come crashing down."
Sakura felt her heart clench at his words, was everything that happen because of one huge ass misunderstanding?.
"Grimm... I.. "
"I looked for you." He Interrupted, leaning forward to press their foreheads together, securing his hold around his giggling son.
"I looked for you everywhere, all the places we've gone to, all the hotels we had been to yet everywhere turned up empty, I was out of my mind with worry because I didnt know what else to do or what the hell did I do to make you leave me like that." He whispered ruggedly.
"I didnt have a clue where you could have gone either and when I asked the Twins if they had heard from you they said no."
"I came home." Sakura whispered back, fingers skimming along that sharp jawline
"It was the only place I knew."
"Yeah, and it took me five damn years to finally find you." He retorted.
Sakura pulled back to give him a suspicious look.
"How did you know I was here?."
He smirked, fingers trailing up her spine in such a tantalizing manner.
"Twins, cornered me a couple days ago, said if I wanted to get my life back on track, I should take a trip to Konoha, I really wasnt expecting to bump into the love of my life in some supermarket. " He narrowed his eyes at her.
"Tell me, how did the twins know where you were and I didn't. "
"Beacuse apparently, Ichigo was in contact with my younger brother for years after I left, Sasuke told him when he asked to meet me."
"Uncle Sasu is a meanie." Takashi piped up, making Grimmjow
raise his eyebrows at her.
" Sasuke tends to tease him a lot." She explained.
"No, my nephew is right, Sasuke Is a bully." Shisui announces as he strolled into the room, dropping the multiple grocery bags he had on his arm onto the lone, empty couch.
"Stop sugar coating it." He then turned to Grimmjow, giving a critical once over, his eyes intense and focused.
"Not bad, I can see where Takashi gets his looks from. Yet his personality is like his mother."
"Cant argue with that."
Staring at them for a few more minutes in silence, Shisui let out a huge sigh, his shoulders slumping in a way that Sakura already knew that he had made up his mind.
"Looks like you brats have already decided what you're gonna do." He said it in a long suffering tone.
"And I can't really oppose to anything that makes my sister happy even If it's the same idiot who unknowingly broke her heart." So he was eavesdropping, that bugger.
"The only thing I want from you, Grimmjow, is to keep my sister and my nephew happy, if you hurt them one more time, willing or unwilling, you'll have the entire Uchiha clan after your ass and believe me, Mom's like the devil when she's angry."
"Believe me, I have seen really scary anger over the years." Grimm said, side eyeing the woman sitting on his lap, laughing as she huffed and smacked his shoulder in retaliation, even his son poked him in the ribs.
He was glad he took Ichigo and Shiro's advice, otherwise he wouldnt be here now, heart full and warm, overflowing with love and affection for the two wonderful people sitting on his lap.
They weren't perfect yet, far from it actually, there were still unspoken questions and much more explanation that was needed between them, the trust and communication needs to be built stronger than it was ever before. And thing was, Grimmjow could wait, he could wait for when Sakura finally, fully trusts him again, he would spend the rest of his life making up all the years he missed to her, spend the rest of his life providing for his son, giving the little tyke the love of a father he didnt have until now.
Yes, they weren't perfect yet, but they would get there.
Together.
