    Summary

    Following the death of his Queen, Thranduil receives an offer of assistance in raising his young son. Despite his troubled past with unbearably irritating elleth, he agrees.
    The aloof king proves to be a difficult co-parent as he struggles to balance mourning with the demands of his responsibility to his people. He's reluctant to bond with his infant son, unsure of what the child needs beyond routine physical care.
    Worst yet, Thranduil finds himself often at odds with the very elf he's tasked with overseeing Legolas's rearing. When frustration turns to admiration, then maybe something more, can either let down their walls enough to let something more grow?
