Work Text:

It was a weekly game night at the New York Sanctum and as usual the competition was extremely fierce. The kids- America, Billy and Tommy opted to play it safe and just observe the ongoing game of snake and ladders, which was a wise idea.

The game was dragging on and neither Stephen nor Wanda were giving up. The twins were observing their parents with wide eyes and America came to the realisation that this was the first time she had seen such a simple game of snake and ladders being played so competitively.

“Are you manipulating the dice?” questioned Wanda, her voice rising a pitch higher and her Sokovian accent slipping after she noticed Stephen successively roll ones and sixes.

“Of course not…” Stephen snorted amusement glittering in his blue eyes. He directed an innocent smile towards Wanda. “...it’s called luck, Maximoff and by the looks of it you seemed to have none of it.”

  “You take that back Strange!”

The game continued and the kids began to grow more concerned.

“You cheater! I promised I won’t look inside your mind but if you go on like this I am definitely going to look!” Wanda’s eyes had turned a shade of red.

America turned to Billy and Tommy. “Should we call Wong? I feel like a fight would break out.” She looked at Stephen and Wanda who looked hellbent on beating the other at the game.

Billy and Tommy shook their heads. “We asked Uncle Wong to join us but he wanted to sit this one out. He muttered something about being too old for all this and that he doesn’t want to see any of the making up.” The twins looked adorably confused.

America choked on her laughter which deepened the twins’ confusion.

“Why don’t we play Jenga till your mama and papa finish their game?” suggested America, wanting to distract the twins. She would gladly leave the explanations to their parents!
