Touya has a bit of a history of acting without really thinking about it, according to the people around him. According to himself, he has a history of acting based around one thought: Would Dad see it as an attempt at teenage rebellion?
If the answer is yes, he does it. A pretty simple one-step decision-making process. (A “no” leads to a few more steps, but that’s not the point.)
And that is how he ended up with a Minecraft account he was told he couldn’t buy and a Twinge platform he didn’t ask permission for. (And also how he ended up as a UA Hero Course student a year or so later, but that’s, again, not the point.)
“Bitch!” he hisses through clenched teeth as the screen tells him his bed was broken before immediately cutting to telling him he died, his attempt at voiding before the other player broke his bed running just a moment too late.
The chat rolls at the corner of his screen, and he takes a second to look through the messages before he moves onto the next game.

“Who?” Touya asks, clicking through into a new lobby.
The chat immediately blows up, but he ignores it in favor of checking the levels of the other people in the lobby. All average, except for one, ridiculously high level.
“Jesus, does this guy not do anything else?” (He ignores that he isn’t far behind.)

He looks back at the users list, and then matches the username of the high-level guy –

to the
Dusty
chat had been talking about.
“Huh. Never heard of them.”
If his chat was already running wild, now it’s even worse, but he ignores it as the round starts.
The start of the round is the same as always: generator, blocks, bed, rush and eliminate the team next to him before going for diamonds, then go for mid once he gets Miner Fatigue and Protection.
He gets halfway back to his base before he notices Aqua team at his base.
“Shit.” He checks the sidebar to see a checkmark listing their bed as intact, and three people still in the game, including himself, Aqua, and Green.
A quick press of the tab button tells him it’s DustedTS, because of course it is, just as thunder marks the destruction of his bed. With a groan, he turns from his own island and redirects back to the Aqua base, just to give himself a chance at avenging himself.

“ Obviously no teamup moment.”
He’s not intercepted as he crosses mid, and there’s nothing saying that Dusty is voiding. It’s a clear shot – especially as the Green team is eliminated.
Then Dusty does void, just as Touya starts bridging his way to their island.
“No the fuck you don’t ,” Touya says, clicking faster and managing to make it to their base before they respawn, immediately breaking into their bed defense. There’s a layer of wood underneath the wool, which is a pain in the ass, but–
Touya gets hit, and immediately switches back over to his sword, tapping at his keyboard to get away from the edge as he counters, watching the number above Dusty’s head drops.
“Come on!” he says, hitting his keyboard harder.
It’s not enough, and Dusty knocks him off the edge with a well-timed hit as Touya yells at his screen.

He clicks to join a new lobby, just as a private message comes through the in-game chat.

Touya stares at the message for a long, long minute.

Touya wakes up the morning after that stream – which lasted way too long, after Dusty asked for a million rematches – to absolute chaos in his Discord server.

Conversation over, as far as Touya can tell, he turns his phone off, takes a breath to prepare himself for the inevitable Muscle Cramps From Hell, and sits up. He has mods to deal with the chaos in his server, and he has his own life to handle. Streaming has never been a valid excuse for him to skip on training.

Touya honestly isn’t sure if Dusty’s mic quality just sucks ass, at least over Discord, or if their voice is just that rough. He’s not going to ask, though, there’s more pressing matters.
“Red’s at our base,” he calls out, zooming in on them from across the map for a second before going back to the task at hand: breaking said Red team’s bed.
“ Great, ” Dusty responds, his keyboard loud enough to carry through the call. “ I’ve got ‘em. ”
Touya hums to acknowledge it, distracted by the nametag he notices hidden behind Red’s defenses. He bridges higher than planned, drops the TNT he’d grabbed just in case, and then drops down to finish them off and break through to their bed.
“ Eat shit, bitch! ” Dusty contributes, the other Red player’s death coming through the chat moments before Touya breaks their bed.
“Any assistance over here, or am I going 2v1?”
“ I’m out of pearls. Good luck. ”
“At least upgrade Sharpening while you’re there,” Touya grumbles.
“ Also out of diamonds. ”
“Great.”
The defending Red player that Touya had already gotten once is easy to beat again, but the other one manages to take advantage of the damage the first player had done to drop Touya down to zero.
“ F. ”
“Fuck off, I don’t play doubles as much.”
“Yeah, I can tell. Red’s coming our way again.”
“Great.” The respawn counter finally reaches 0, and Touya manages to grab enough iron from their team chest to upgrade his sword again before Red is back at their base. Neither he nor Dusty say anything as they double-team them, effortlessly getting their health to zero and ending the match with yet another win.
“ Again? ” Dusty asks, already rejoining a new lobby before Touya can confirm or deny.
“How long are we planning on going for?” he asks as the lobby fills, countdown to the start of the game shifting accordingly.
“ We’ve only been going for two hours. ”
Touya laughs. “Only.”
“Who are you talking to?”
He jolts, craning his neck to where Shouto is standing behind him. He doesn’t have to look back at chat to know they’re all probably losing their minds, like they always do when Shouto decides to make an unannounced cameo.
“ Who’s that? ” Dusty asks through his headset.
“Sho. Twin brother,” Touya explains, turning back to his computer before he responds to Shouto. “I’m in VC with another streamer. Kind of in the middle of something.”
“Who?”
“You wouldn’t know them, Sho.” Not with his absolute lack of a normal social life, at least.
He can see Shouto considering this in his facecam, standing there silently as the next game starts, Touya’s focus going back to the basic motions of the start of a game.
“ You get bed, ” Dusty tells him.
“Got it, you got diamond?”
“ Yeah. ”
He focuses on defenses first, then upgrading his own gear. “Are we rushing anyone yet, or?”
“ We’re rushing fucking White,” Dusty responds, just as their name shows up in a death message in chat. “ Fuck them, we’re destroying them.”
“Got it.”
“Touya, there’s someone there,” Shouto says, driving Touya to turn just in time to see White destroy their bed.
“Shit.”
Shouto hums, still watching as Touya knocks out the White player, Dusty cussing in his headset.
They manage another win in spite of the early bed loss, though White seemed very intent on trying to fuck them over the entire time. Dusty, once again, joins a new lobby without waiting for Touya to confirm.
“Can you talk now?” Shouto asks, and Touya sighs.
“Dusty. Younger siblings are the most annoying thing in the world.”
“ I thought he was your twin. ”
“I’m older by ten minutes.”
“That’s only ten minutes,” Shouto says, like he always does.
Touya shrugs. “Still ten minutes.”
“ I wouldn’t know, anyways, I’m an only child. ”
“Huh. Honestly, not shocking.”
“ What does that mean? ”
“Nothing.” He types the command to leave their party into the in-game chat, talking as he does, “I’ve gotta go.”
“ Fine, but we’re playing again next time we’re both on. ”
“Deal. Bye.”
He does a quick sign-off for his stream – including letting chat say goodbye to Shouto, like they always ask to – before taking off his headset and putting his computer to sleep.
“What do you want?” he asks, spinning his chair to face Shouto, who pulls a paper from – somewhere.
“You need Dad’s signature so you can register to apply for UA, right?” he asks, pointing to the signature on his own paper and pulling a blank sheet from behind it – it’s different, but Shouto’s going to the Recommendation exam, so that explains it. “We can forge it.”
Touya blinks. He’d honestly forgotten he’d mentioned that to Shouto, but he’s not going to complain.
“Hell yeah,” he says, grinning.

Touya has spent more streaming time playing with Tomura – who finally gave him their name, for use off-stream only – than on his own in the past two weeks. He’s also spent more time on Discord than ever – his server’s too chaotic for him to put up with it all the time, but Tomura’s only been talking to him through DMs since the day he first joined the server.

He’s gotten used to the not-really-asking ways Tomura asks him things. For the most part, they don’t assume anything inaccurately – save for occasionally starting a new game when Touya has to stop playing. He’s not streaming tonight, but he is free, and he has been saying that he’s been free all week, so. They’re playing tonight.
The day runs slower than usual. By the time he and Shouto are on the train home, he’s already messaging Tomura to bitch about it.

“Are you talking to Dusted again?” Shouto asks, trying to look over Touya’s shoulder. He turns his phone off before he can read any of the messages.
“Yeah. I’m playing with them again tonight.”
“Again?” Shouto pouts.
Touya holds back a laugh, giving him a light punch on the shoulder. “Stop being annoying.”
“You’ve been playing with them so much, though.”
“You don’t even have Minecraft.”
“I can steal your account.”
Touya lets himself laugh this time. “And drag my stats down with you?”
“I’m not bad at it just because your crush is good–”
“They aren’t my crush!” Touya interrupts, faster than he planned to.
Shouto meets his eyes with a too-knowing look. “They aren’t?”
“No!” He can feel his face heating up, and does his best to blame it on his Quirk.
But Shouto doesn’t mention it, shrugging and turning away. Touya silently thanks his twin’s absolute obliviousness to most social cues.
It doesn’t make the thought go away as he plays on VC with Tomura that night, though.

“I thought he wasn’t your crush,” Shouto says as Touya holds up another outfit to the mirror.
“Shut up, that was two weeks ago, how do you remember that.”
“Should I have forgotten?”
“It doesn’t matter– which outfit?”
Shouto looks between the two in Touya’s hands and the five others scattered around the floor.
“Is there a dress code for dates?”
“I don’t know! I think so!”
“Where are you going?”
Touya pauses.
And immediately grabs his phone.

“Black jeans,” he says, pointing between the three pairs already pulled out. “And the red shirt would look nice, I think.”
“Great, thank you, get out of my room now.”
“You’re so mean to me.”
Touya looks up enough to make eye contact as he sticks his tongue out at Shouto, who does the same as he walks out of his room, remembering to shut the door behind him.
Alone again, Touya folds the red button-up and the only non-ripped pair of black jeans together and stuffs them into his school bag.
He takes a deep breath, and tries to get his muscles to relax.

He plugs his phone in as soon as the messages are sent, pulling himself into bed and still trying to relax.
He checks it one last time before he tries to actually sleep.

Touya can say pretty confidently that their first date was not, in fact, a plot to go through with Tomura’s threats to murder him, considering 1: he was not murdered, and 2: he was also not murdered on any of their subsequent dates.
It’s pretty nice, actually. They switch between arcade and cafe dates every other week, and whatever Tomura’s family does, they’re loaded, maybe more than Dad, considering how insistent they are on paying for everything, every single time.

The in-person dates start to stutter more as the start of UA approaches for Touya, and whatever Tomura’s doing takes up more of his free time. The Bedwars games stay as consistent as always, with some extra calls outside of them.
“Sho’s costume design is honestly so bad, you have no idea.”
“ You didn’t try to help him with it? ”
“Wouldn’t take my advice. Letting him pick out my outfit for our first date gave him way too big of an ego.”
“ That was a good outfit.”
“Thanks, I’ll take that compliment for myself.”
“ Do you know what class you’re in yet? ”
“Nope, just hero course.”
“ Would they put both of you in the same class, or? ”
“Maybe.”
“ Would they just… call both of you Todoroki? ”
“Shouto would probably jump at the chance to be called something else.”
Tomura laughs. “ And you? ”
Touya shrugs, before remembering it’s a voice chat. “I don’t know.”
“ Do you have a code name or anything? ”
“A hero name? No idea. I’ll figure it out, though.”
“ The Blue Parade. ”
Touya laughs. “Absolutely not, fuck you.”

Class starts a few minutes later. Touya tucks his phone away and keeps it there – they’ve already planned to play Bedwars and catch up on what it’s like when he gets home.

“A field trip already?” Touya mumbles in the back of the bus, looking over to Shouto, holding back another laugh at the left half of his costume. Maybe he should’ve sat on Shouto’s right, like he usually does.
Shouto hums, shrugging, not really saying much – he doesn’t usually, around the class. The bus starts moving a few moments later, and Touya resorts to leaning his head back, closing his eyes as tight as he can, and resting his arms over his stomach in what he hopes looks casual. God, he hates motion sickness.
The explanation of the USJ is actually really interesting – Touya’s almost excited, even as someone without a lot of interest in rescue work.
Of course, that means it has to go wrong. Touya’s almost ready to rename Murphy’s Law after himself, if he didn’t have good things coming up, too.
Shouto pokes his shoulder a few times to pull him out of his thoughts, before pointing down to the center of the USJ.
“Isn’t that your boyfriend?” he whispers.
Touya blinks.
“Do I get bonus disappointing-Dad points for this?” he asks.
Probably, but he doesn’t get an answer before they’re split up.

“You’re sure you’re not hurt?” Recovery Girl asks again, everyone else already taken care of as Touya clutches the shock blanket around his shoulders.
“Yeah,” he says, voice shaking. “I’m good.”
Everyone else had been physically injured. He doesn’t think getting the most terrifying shovel-talk in existence from Tomura’s – Dad? guardian? whatever he was – is something Recovery Girl can fix.
