Work Text:
Math was the devil's spawn. It was the ultimate boss at the end of every video game, and the absolute fucking bane of Uki’s existence. If he had to choose between fucking Thomas the Train or solving a math equation, society would be in for a real shock because Uki would rather die then willingly choose anything that had to do with math.
Honestly though, who the fuck enjoys math.
The only good thing about Uki’s math class was he had a small break right after it, meaning Uki had enough time to run into the classroom next door to sit on his boyfriend's lap and stare at him lovingly while running his hands though the other boy's hair. At least, that’s what he wished he could do.
Despite everyone knowing about their relationship, Shoto still got embarrassed easily whenever Uki did anything beyond holding the other boy’s hand. It was endearing to watch Shoto’s face light up in various shades of red whenever Uki would kiss him in public, but Uki didn’t want to stress the other boy out by being overly affectionate when he wasn't ready for it.
His overwhelming affection was okay in private though, Shoto wasn’t as embarrassed by his own emotions when no one else was there to watch them. Shoto was sickeningly sweet and always incredibly affectionate when it was just the two of them.
He loved it.
Uki couldn’t blame the other boy for adjusting slowly. They had only been officially dating for about a month now, and Uki was Shoto’s first boyfriend, his first relationship, he’s even been. Everything between them was a new experience for Shoto, so Uki had to constantly remind himself to take things slowly.
He didn’t mind the slow pace though, the two of them had the rest of their lives to experience things and grow together, so Uki was okay with taking things slow. After all, slow and steady wins the race.
Besides, Uki could always just read the fanfiction the girls in the literature club were writing about the two of them to pass the time. Despite the literature club being one of the smallest clubs in the school, Uki swore one of the girls from the club always happened to be where the two of them were.
Uki had ignored them all at first, but after noticing them carrying notebooks and furiously scribbling whenever they saw the two of them together, he did some investigating. Turns out, the girls within the club were taking notes about their relationship and using the information to write their own stories.
When Uki first discovered their work posted online, he was slightly shocked. The characters they were using acted exactly like Shoto and Uki did, and even their character descriptions were eerily similar. Instead of being creeped out by the situation, Uki found it comical; especially since their stories were actually good.
The bitches could write, Uki could give them that.
After realizing this, Uki found the situation hilarious and went out of his way to provide them inspiration whenever he could. He would sometimes tip off information about their upcoming dates, he would talk to himself loudly about ideas he has for their relationship, and he would always indulge himself in PDA with Shoto whenever the girls were around.
Uki figured if the girls were going this far out of their way to horribly stalk them for information, then Uki could at least provide some source material for them. Which is exactly what he’s doing in his current situation.
Running the brush through Shoto’s incredibly soft hair, Uki smiled to himself while humming a new song he and Shoto had listened to yesterday. Setting the brush to the side, Uki used his fingers to section off the front half of Shoto’s hair from the rest of it. Tying back the hair he wouldn’t need, Uki tilted Shoto’s head back slightly.
“Don’t move until I finish okay,” Uki reminded the other boy gently.
Receiving a small noise of agreement, Uki began humming softly to himself as he separated a small section of Shoto's hair into three smaller sections. Beginning to weave the strands together while adding in more hair as he went, Uki started forming a small french braid on the side of Shoto’s head.
His boyfriend had been complaining about his hair getting in the way during volleyball practice, and headbands were “too chunky” and “not tight enough” for Shoto to use. So Uki decided to braid his hair for him. Shoto’s hair was too short to do two long french braids, so Uki would just be braiding a few small ones to keep Shoto’s hair out of his face.
He didn’t mind braiding his boyfriend's hair. Uki had always wanted to dress Shoto up, even before they started dating each other. Whenever they were outside of school, Shoto usually preferred to dress in loose clothing that left him plenty of room to move in. Shoto looked good in his chosen style, but Uki wanted to see what his boyfriend would look like dressed in the clothes Uki chose for him.
A sight that only he would get to see.
A sight he wouldn’t be willing to share.
If Shoto was comfortable with Uki braiding his hair today, then he would probably be down to play dress-up in the future. The thought excited Uki- his boyfriend would look great in winged eyeliner .
“Uki you really don’t have to do this…” Shoto whispered quietly, face slightly red. “I can just put on the stupid headband.”
Ignoring Shoto and continuing to braid his hair, Uki observed the girls from the literature club in his peripheral vision. Hiding a smirk at their soft giggles and furious writing, Uki silently looked forward to the next fanfic they would create.
Reading their stories was surprisingly addicting.
“Uki-”
“Shh,” Uki interrupted suddenly, “stop fussing and let me finish braiding your hair. You keep complaining about it getting in the way when you play volleyball anyway.”
Pulling Shoto’s hair tight when the other boy started moving his head, Uki leaned down and kissed the other boy’s forehead when Shoto hissed in pain. He hadn't meant to pull that hard. Muttering out a small apology, Uki continued to braid Shoto’s hair.
“They’re laughing at us,” Shoto whined in embarrassment, face slowly turning a shade darker.
Snorting harshly, Uki focused on the girls from the corners of his vision. “No bitch they're shipping us, there’s a difference. Besides, everyone knows we're dating so it's okay.”
Watching in amusement as Shoto let out a defeated sigh, Uki’s eyes twinkled as he continued to braid Shoto’s hair. Pulling away the hair that usually covered Shoto’s ears, Uki felt his hands freeze and his mind blank.
Piercings . His boyfriend had piercings in his ears. Multiple piercings.
God that was hot.
Feeling his mouth slightly open in shock, Uki inspected the numerous piercings in Shoto’s ears. Helix piercings, a conch piercing, lobe piercings, and- a tragus? It looked like a tragus piercing. The fact that Uki was just now finding out about this even after all of the stalking research he did regarding his boyfriend was a hate crime.
He should have known, he really should have since Shoto had a nose piercing he wore outside of school but still.
Secrets were homophobic he swore.
“Oh right, I forgot about that,” Shoto whispered softly.
Mind snapping back to their conversation, he would have to interrogate Shoto about the rest of his piercings later , Uki narrowed his eyes dangerously at his boyfriend. He couldn’t see his boyfriends face from their current position, but Uki would honestly smack the shit out of the other boy if he was implying what his mind was suggesting.
“You forgot we were dating?” Uki questioned, voice steady but eyes furious.
“What no!” Shoto denied, head shifting back to look at Uki. “No, I didn't forget we’re dating. You literally kissed me this morning Uki what the fuck. I- I forgot we told people that we were together.”
Letting out a loud snort, Uki moved Shoto’s head back to its original position and started working on another braid.
“We had to tell people babe,” Uki insisted. “Mysta walked in on us kissing in the bathroom, remember?”
Noticing his boyfriend was starting to blush again, Uki glanced towards the literature girls to make sure they were still watching them. If they were, the next fanfic they put out would probably be a steamy one. Uki was looking forward to it.
It was so easy to embarrass Shoto that Uki actually worried about how shy he was someti- oh? He didn’t know Shoto’s ears turn red when he’s embarrassed… that’s new information he’ll have to remember.
“You’re the one who pulled me in there and pushed me against the sink…” Shoto hissed at Uki, voice barely above a whisper.
“Hmmm? Did I?” Uki questioned, feigning ignorance, “I can’t recall. I don’t regret a single thing if I did.”
Tying off the last french braid he was working on with a rubber band, Uki pushed on Shoto’s chair to get him to swivel around. Looking directly at his boyfriend's face, Uki gently grabbed Shoto’s chin and started shifting it side to side to inspect his work. Deeming the braids acceptable, Uki kissed Shoto on his nose.
“There, your hair is braided and out of your face now. You should be good for volleyball practice later.”
Shifting back out of Shoto’s personal space, Uki handed the other boy a small hand mirror he carried around to let him see what he did. Observing Shoto while the other boy tilted his head back and forth cutely, he could have just moved the mirror around , Uki felt his heart melt at the adoration he saw in Shoto’s eyes.
“It looks good,” Shoto said in awe, voice laced with appreciation. “Thank you starshine.”
Smiling down at the other boy, Uki didn’t resist when Shoto reached over and pulled him down to place a quick kiss on his cheek.
Wasn’t that sweet.
“I’m glad you like it,” Uki admitted honestly. Hearing a warning bell sound off, Uki groaned in annoyance. School was a fucking scam.
Letting out a sigh, Uki glanced at Shoto as he made his way out of the classroom. “I’ll see you later okay?”
Receiving a small wave in response, Uki barely caught Shoto’s words before he was out of the door. “Yeah, okay.”
—
Uki loved being a part of the occult club. Despite the rocky start the club had in the beginning, it was now officially active and one of the most popular clubs in the school. They didn’t have a lot of members in the club itself, but they did have numerous visitors.
As a way of gathering their own funds for the club, Uki was allowed to sell tarot card readings during club hours. He isn’t sure why he’s allowed to charge people for it, Shu had worked out the logistics and made it possible, but Uki did appreciate getting paid to see other people’s business.
It was amusing to watch his classmates' love lives crash and burn.
Hearing the club door open, Uki glanced at the individual walking through the door and groaned.“Uki? You’re still here?”
Ignoring Shu’s presence at first, Uki redirected his gaze towards the other boy and blinked at him slowly before clapping his hands together with fake surprise on his face.
“Oh,” Uki said in excitement. “It’s you, I remember you from the school assembly! You’re the secretary of the student council right? The third year?”
Inwardly laughing at the tired expression on Shu’s face, Uki mentally made another tally on his chart titled ‘The Amount of Times I’ve Tested Shu’s Patience.’ Uki had a love-hate relationship with Shu. The two of them had grown up together, and Uki viewed the other boy as an older brother. Shu was dependable and was always there whenever Uki needed advice or someone to talk to. He appreciated Shu, and he wouldn’t trade his presence in Uki’s life for the world.
But that doesn't mean he liked him.
“Seriously Uki?” Shu said in defeat. “You do know I’m your upperclassman right? And that you should treat me with respect.”
“Oh really? I hadn’t noticed,” Uki responded blankly, face shifting back into his neutral resting bitch face.
Disregarding the eyeroll Shu gave him, Uki started packing up his tarot cards.
“What are you doing here anyway?” Shu inquired curiously, sitting down at the table across from Uki. “Official club activities ended a while ago. Are you waiting for Shoto to get out of practice?”
Nodding his head in agreement, Uki placed his tarot cards in his backpack and pulled out his phone. Still no new messages, Shoto was taking longer than usual.
It worried him.
“Yeah, they should be ending soon,” Uki said distractedly, pulling up Twitter on his phone to flip through the latest gossip.
Oh, it says here that Natilie’s boyfriend cheated on her with Ami. What a shame.
It’s not like anyone saw that happening.
“They usually would have ended by now so it's weird for him to not be here yet,” Shu acknowledged, placing a computer on the desk in front of him. “Well, I have some work to do so don’t mind me. The student council office was too loud for me to get anything done so I’m just going to work here.”
“I wasn’t going to anyway,” Uki stated bluntly, finger still flipping through the various tweets on his phone.
God he loved drama.
Sitting in a comfortable silence, Uki periodically checked the time as he waited for Shoto to come. Shu was right, volleyball practice usually ended by now, and Shoto always headed straight for Uki whenever he finished.
If he was too tired to climb the stairs, which rarely happened, then he would just text Uki to meet him at the school gates so they could leave together. Shoto always informed him when he finished practice, but for some reason he didn’t today.
Something must be wrong.
Hearing heavy footsteps rush down the hall, Uki jumped in surprise when the door to the occult club was suddenly slammed open.
“Uki! Are you in here!”
Standing up abruptly in surprise, Uki let out a sigh of relief when he realized it was just Mysta standing in the doorway.
Fucking Mysta Rias and his loud ass screams.
“Mysta stop screaming,” Shu said bluntly, eyes still focused on the computer in front of him. The motherfucker didn’t even flinch when Mysta busted through the door, he must be used to the random outbursts.
Uki sure as hell wasn’t.
“Mysta,” Uki said tiredly, “why are you running around and slamming doors open?”
“Oh good you’re here,” Mysta said happily, eyes finally shifting from Shu’s relaxed form to Uki’s tense one. “Uki, have you seen Shoto? I’m worried about him and he won’t answer his phone.”
Freezing in worry, Uki observed Shu as he also stopped typing on his computer. Two sets of purple eyes looking at Mysta in worry, Uki forced himself to breathe evenly.
“No, I haven’t seen him yet. He never stopped by after practice ended,” Uki admitted. “Why are you worried though, did something happen?”
Eyes analyzing Mysta’s expressions like a hawk, Uki forced himself to sit back down in his chair. He needed to be prepared for whatever Mysta was about to say, and he wanted to make sure he wouldn’t fall down in shock after whatever he was about to hear.
Uki loved Shoto, he loved the boy more than he loved anything else in the world. Sometimes Uki felt like Achilles due to the man’s love for Patroclus. He had read a book about their love, and the end of it, and Uki understood Achilles emotions more than anyone else while reading the book.
One of Uki’s favorite quotes from the book was as follows:
“I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.”
-Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles
And Uki understood it, he truly did. Shoto’s entire existence was something that was engraved into Uki’s very being. He would always pick Shoto in a room full of men, and that in itself was proof of Uki's loyalty, because Uki had never limited himself to just one person before.
Ever.
But Uki’s love for the other boy didn’t always protect him. Shoto was accident prone, and had a bad habit of getting hurt in situations where he was just trying to help someone. Uki knew Shoto’s kindness was a big part of who he was, but he sometimes wished Shoto would focus more on himself and less on others.
“I’m not sure honestly,” Mysta admitted. “Some random chick confronted him after practice. I’m not sure what they talked about but Shoto looked upset after she left. I thought he’d come straight to you since he looked like he was going to cry.”
His boyfriend was crying? Alone?
Oh fuck no, not on Uki’s watch.
“Well that’s concerning,” Shu replied, eyes narrowing in concern. “Do you know the girl who approached him?”
“Yeah,” Mysta confirmed. “I’ve seen them around a few times, I think they’re in the choir club. I can send you their info now.”
Receiving a text on his phone, Uki snarled at the information he received. He unfortunately knew the girl who had approached Shoto, and Uki had a bad feeling about the main topic of their talk. He would have to deal with this bitch tomorrow though, Shoto came first.
“Thanks for the info Mysta,” Uki said hastily, grabbing his bag and rushing towards the door. “I’m gonna go find Shou and check on him.”
“Hey Uki-'' Shu interrupted suddenly, grabbing Uki’s attention before he left the room. “I know you're upset but… nevermind. Whatever you decide to do, just don’t get caught, alright? And if you do, make sure you come to me for help. Okay?”
Smiling softly at Shu’s unquestioning acceptance, Uki nodded at him. “I always do.”
—
Uki was gonna put a fucking tracker on Shoto, he swore he was going to do it. He had run around 90% of this damn school and Uki still didn’t know where Shoto was. He had checked all of Shoto’s usual hiding spots, and Shoto hadn’t been at any of them. Uki knew the the other boy wouldn’t walk home until he had calmed down, but at this rate Shoto might as well be at an abandoned build-
Freezing in his tracks, Uki smacked himself on his forehead. The abandoned bathroom on the fourth floor, of course Shoto would go there to cry. Growling in frustration, Uki turned around and made his way towards the stairs.
When Uki finally got his hands on the red-haired bitch tomorrow he was going to blackmail her to hell and back he promised he would.
Finally reaching the bathroom, Uki peaked his head in and glanced around.
“Shou?” Uki said, “Baby, are you in here?”
Hearing sniffling from further in the bathroom, Uki felt his heart break.
How long has Shoto been sitting in here crying?
“N-no.”
Eyes shifting towards all of the bathroom stalls that were closed, Uki bent down to try and see which one Shoto was hiding in.
“Shou honey, I know you're here. Which stall are you in baby?” Realizing he couldn’t see Shoto at the bottom of any of the stalls, Uki huffed in annoyance. “Come on Shou,” Uki begged, “talk to me baby, please.”
Waiting in silence for a few moments, Uki was about to open each of the stalls one-by-one when he heard a shuffling sound. Shifting his gaze towards the stall at the end, Uki rushed towards Shoto when the other boy finally walked out.
Eyes tracing Shoto’s form as he slowly shuffled out of the bathroom stall, Uki let out a small hiss.
Shoto was a mess.
His face was red from crying so much, and his eyes were stained red too. He had dried tear stains on his face, and Uki knew the other boy's skin was probably irritated from how frequently he had rubbed it to wipe away his tears. The braids Uki had previously put in his hair were undone, and it looked like Shoto had been grabbing his hair in frustration.
He was also still dressed in his workout clothes, which meant his clothes probably had dried sweat on them. That was just another thing Uki knew was definitely bothering Shoto. The other boy hated the sensation of sweat on his skin, especially dried sweat.
Rushing towards Shoto, Uki shifted his sleeve to gently remove the tears still falling from Shoto’s eyes. “Shou, why are you crying?” Uki asked delicately. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
“It-it’s no-nothing,” Shoto choked out, eyes avoiding Uki’s gaze. “I- I’m okay.”
Tsking slightly, Uki flipped their positions so that his back was towards the wall before he pulled Shoto down to the floor with him. Sitting down and getting comfortable, Uki gently shifted Shoto onto his lap and hugged the boy tightly.
“Come here baby, come on let me hold you,” Uki whispered, shifting one of his hands to rub it against Shoto’s back in small circles. “It’s okay love, everything is okay. It’s gonna be okay.”
Allowing Shoto to shove his head into his neck, Uki hummed a lullaby softly while Shoto started crying yet again. Rocking his boyfriend back and forth, Uki tried to consider how he should approach the situation. Deciding to just let Shoto tire himself out first, Uki allowed the other boy to cry and let out the last of his tears. Feeling his boyfriends body finally begin to settle, Uki kissed Shoto on his forehead.
“Do you feel better now?” Uki asked softly.
“Y-yeah…” Shoto admitted quietly. “I’m sorry…”
Shifting his hold on Shoto so that he was holding the boy with both of his arms, Uki rested his head on top of Shoto’s.
“Do you wanna talk about what was bothering you?” Uki gently encouraged. “I think having another opinion will help.”
“Do… do you still like me?” Shoto whispered in fear, grip on Uki’s shirt tightening.
What the fuck?
“What?” Uki asked, appalled.
Oh he was going to kill Hana tomorrow for putting this thought in Shoto’s head.
“Do you still…” Shoto began to mumble before stopping suddenly. “N- no nevermind, it’s nothing. It's- it’s not important. I’m sorry for bothering-”
“Stop,” Uki demanded, voice firm. “Who told you this? Who made you think this? Who lied to you and made you believe that I don’t adore you?”
“N- no one said anything. It’s- it’s nothi-”
Bullshit it isn’t.
The only times Shoto ever felt self conscious was when someone pointed out something he hated about himself. His height, his voice, his personality, Shoto never thought badly of himself until someone else said something negative about him first.
It used to piss Uki off whenever he had to watch his sweet and loving friend think so badly of himself, but now that they were dating the notion just frustrated him. He wished Shoto could see himself the way Uki see’s him.
Maybe then he would finally understand just how precious he really is.
Gently but firmly pushing Shoto’s face out of his neck, Uki used both his hands to manhandle the other boy into making eye contact with him.
“If you say ‘its nothing’ Shoto I swear to god I’m going to bend you over one of these fucking sinks and show you just how much I love you in the middle of this schools very public bathroom where anyone can walk in and see us,” Uki interjected, voice steady and unapologetic.
Noticing the surprised expression on Shoto’s face, Uki took a deep breath and released his grip on Shoto’s face. Moving one of his hands to gently pet his boyfriend’s hair - Shou's hair would need to be redone before they could leave later - , Uki raised his other one to gently caress Shoto’s face.
“Please talk to me Shoto, I can’t help you if you don’t let me.”
Concerned, dual colored purple eyes looking into guilty dark purple ones, Uki sighed in relief when Shoto finally started talking to him.
“Someone said you're just using me to pass time,” Shoto explained softly. “I met one of your classmates after volleyball practice today. They were waiting for me outside of the gym and they asked to talk to me. I didn’t want to agree to it at first but they said it was about you, so I went with them. I was worried it was that you were hurt, or that they were going to say something important.”
“S-They said that you're only using me to pass time because someone as pretty as you would never fall for someone as- as messy as me. I didn’t want to believe he-them, them but they… they had really good points, Uki,” Shoto admitted in defeat. “It made me stop and really think about everything.”
Noticing how Shoto was trying to avoid using specific pronouns, Uki wished for once that his boyfriend wasn’t so damn kind. Shoto would never admit who approached him, and if Uki didn't already know who it was he probably would have flipped his shit trying to get a name from the other boy.
Uki loved everything about Shoto, but this was one of the few times Uki wished Shoto would just be a dick. It was okay though, because Uki was more than willing to be a bitch to even out their dynamic.
“What points?” Uki pried gently, mind returning to their conversation.
“Hmmm?”
“What points?” Uki repeated softly. “I need you to start from the beginning so that I can fully understand you.”
“S-They… they had a few good ones,” Shoto explained. “The first one was the way I dress. You always look perfect, Uki. You dress well, your makeup always turns out flawless, and you’re naturally pretty. And I’m… just not. I wear baggy clothes outside of school, I have bags under my eyes and I have scars all over my body from the car crash I was in when I was a kid. I don’t wear makeup, and I can’t even remember the last time I tried to look pretty.
Not only that, but she also pointed out that my voice doesn't complement yours. I know you wanted us to work on a duet for the music club with a new song Yugo was making… but I’m not a good enough singer to be able to match your talent. I would only get in the way, and I just… sound weird. My natural voice just doesn't sound right, it’s weird.
Also, being with me is dragging your reputation down. You’re well known in the music and occult clubs, and you're a member of Noctxy. Me being average is… interfering with that. People always whisper when they see us, and I think it’s my fault for not being good enough. I don't want you to get dragged down because of me.
They also pointed out that I wouldn’t be able to help you if something happened. I’m bad with confrontation and I- I can’t protect you. I’m just… not good enough.”
“And you believe what they said?” Uki asked. “All of it?”
“No I-” Shoto huffed in frustration, hands pushing Uki’s away to run them through his hair aggressively. “I didn’t want to! But Uki I- I’m dragging you down by being with you. You would be better without me. I’m not good enough to compliment you.”
Gently removing Shoto’s hands from his hair. Uki gripped both of Shoto’s hands and placed them on his lap. Moving one of his hands and using it to wipe away the lingering tears from his boyfriend's eyes, Uki looked at Shoto seriously.
“One,” Uki said softly, eyes completely devoid of sympathy, “every single word that just came out of your mouth is bullshit. I, Uki Violeta, absolutly fucking adore you- you dumbass bitch. Two, there’s nothing wrong with the way you dress. You dress comfortably and there's nothing wrong with that. Plus we wear uniforms to school so your clothing preferences don’t matter.
Three, if you ever say anything bad about your voice again, or you imply that your not talented at singing, then I’m going to actually fuck you into next week, record the noises you make throughout it, and give them to Yugo so that he can use them to make a new soundtrack that the whole school will be able to hear.
Four, I don’t give a shit about my popularity. If I didn’t want to date you, I wouldn’t. It’s as simple as that. Besides, if anything, dating you has made me more popular because I’ve seen the members of the literature club writing fanfiction about our relationship that I know other students in our school are reading.
Five, I don’t need you to fight my fights for me. I am more than capable of knocking someone down a peg and setting them straight. I like you Shou, and I enjoy being with you. Please, for the love of god, have more confidence in yourself.”
Pulling Shoto into a tight hug, Uki hugged the other boy when he heard Shoto start to choke on more unshed tears.
“I’m sorry,” Shoto whispered again, eyes beginning to water. “She just pointed out a lot of my insecurities and… it hurt. A lot.”
“I know, baby. That’s why I’m not upset at what they said,” Uki agreed. “Why don’t we make a deal to make sure this doesn't happen again.”
“A deal?” Shoto asked in confusion, leaning back in Uki’s hug so that he could make eye contact with him.
“Yeah, a deal,” Uki confirmed, eyes sparkling in glee. “From now on, every time you talk bad about yourself you owe me a kiss. Sounds fair right?”
“A kiss? For talking bad about myself?” Shoto said, eyes widening in surprise. “What is that going to solve?”
“Well,” Uki hinted, “unless you want me to push you down and kiss you senseless in front of our classmates everyday you’ll need to build some confidence in yourself. I think this will help since you get embarrassed so easily.”
“Wait, push me down and kis- Uki! You can’t do that in public!” Shoto reprimanded.
“Why not?” Uki asked curiously.
“Because it-it’s embarrassing!” Shoto announced, hand tugging gently on Uki’s shirt to emphasize his point.
How cute.
“That’s the point Shoto, it's not supposed to be a reward on your end.”
“But that's not my point- wait… on my end?” Shoto asked curiously. “How is this a reward for you?”
Uki smiled at Shoto. “Do you really think I care about kissing you in public? Or that people watching us while we go at it is going to stop me?”
“...”
That’s what I thought.
“You better start practicing confidence now,” Uki whispered softly. “Especially since you owe me five kisses already.”
“Wait five?” Shoto questioned. “How? We just started this like, just now!”
“From our conversation previously, the one a few minutes ago,” Uki giggled. “You said a lot of bad things about yourself, and I’m counting each one as a kiss.”
“But we- we weren’t doing this then!” Shoto stated, face heating up in embarrassment. Arms pushing against Uki to get off of his lap, Shoto started struggling on top of Uki. “You can’t seriously-”
Hand grabbing the back of Shoto’s hair tightly, Uki pulled Shoto into a kiss. Swallowing the other boy’s gasp of surprise, Uki took the opportunity to enter Shoto’s mouth and make a mess of him. Shifting Shoto on top of him to get a better angle for the kiss, Uki took a moment to appreciate the fact that he would get to kiss his boyfriend much more in the future.
Change didn’t occur overnight after all.
Shoto really should have known better than to challenge Uki, especially after Mysta walked in on Uki practically climbing on top of Shoto in the bathroom previously.
Shame wasn’t an emotion Uki felt when it came to expressing his love for Shoto.
Releasing Shoto from their kiss, Uki allowed the other boy a few seconds to breathe before he pulled him back down.
“Uki w-”
Shutting Shoto up once again, Uki shifted the boy sitting on top of him so that he could deepen their kiss yet again. Smothering all of the noises Shoto was making, Uki grabbed Shoto’s hips with his free hand to keep the other boy from shifting on top of him.
He knew Shoto wasn’t doing it on purpose, and that he probably didn’t even realize he was doing it, but Uki was going to lose control if Shoto didn’t stop moving. Uki refused to let their first time be in a school bathroom.
Especially not one that Shoto had cried in.
Pulling Shoto’s head away from him by his hair, Uki smiled at the hazy expression in Shoto’s eyes.
That was cute.
“I don’t care, and I’m not going to wait anymore,” Uki stated bluntly. “We need to work on your confidence, and this is one of the way’s were going to do it. You kept complaining by the way, so both of those kisses count as one.”
Ignoring Shoto’s high pitched whine, Uki pushed Shoto on the ground beneath him before pulling the boy back into another kiss.
—
Standing on top of the stairs and observing a small group of girls chatting loudly at a table in the courtyard, Uki eyed his target with perfectly hidden anger. After Shoto’s breakdown yesterday, Uki utilized most of his resources to compile enough information over his target to force her to drop out of school if he wanted.
Uki didn’t get mad easily, but remembering Shoto sitting alone in that bathroom crying until Uki got there infuriated him. Uki didn’t enjoy being cruel to people, but this situation would have to be an exception.
There would always be exceptions when it came to his boyfriend.
Plastering a fake smile on his face, Uki approached the group of girls.
“Uki, is that you?” His target exclaimed in excitement. “It’s been awhile since you came to hang with us during lunch! How are you?”
Bitch I’ve never hung out with you during lunch.
“Hana,” Uki greeted cheerfully, “here you are. Can I borrow you for a moment? It won’t take long, I promise.”
“Oh, of course!” She responded excitedly, quickly placing down her half-eaten lunch.
Watching as all of the girls looked at Hana in excitement and silently cheered for her, Uki smiled at them all. The girls seemed like sweethearts, but Uki wasn’t pulling Hana aside for the reason they may have thought he was.
Uki was going to burn this bitch’s existence into the ground for hurting his boyfriend, and he would enjoy every second of it.
Besides, everyone knew he was gay as hell. Why the fuck would he date a woman?
Turning around and leading Hana away from the group, Uki stopped when they reached an empty part of the campus. Glancing around to ensure no one was around them, Uki grinned in happiness.
Perfect.
“So…” Hana inquired, finger twisting around a strand of her red hair suggestively. “What’s up Uki? Did you want to ask me anything in particular?”
“I did want to ask you something actually,” Uki admitted. “Did you say something to Shoto yesterday? After classes ended?”
Watching as Hana’s face lit up in excitement, Uki forced himself to bite his tongue. He would ruin his plan if he snapped at her right now, Uki couldn’t let his hard work go to waste. Even if he did want to punch the bitch square in her face.
“Why? Did you finally leave him?” She asked curiously. “I kept telling everyone there was no way you would actually be interested in him. I mean seriously, have you seen him? He’s a literal mess Uki, and he isn’t even cute. I can’t believe you wasted so much time on hi-”
“Hana,” Uki interrupted, voice deathly calm. “I suggest you shut the fuck up before I rip your tongue out of your mouth.”
Well there goes his patience.
Different colored purple eyes staring into bewildered green ones, Uki allowed all of his hidden anger and frustration to rush out of him.
“Shoto and I are still dating, and quite frankly I love him very much,” Uki explained. “I didn’t come here today to thank you, in fact, I came to do the opposite.”
Taking a step towards the other girl, Uki internally grinned at the scared expression that appeared on her face. Good, she should be scared. She’s lucky Uki still had some morals or he would have buried her in the ground already.
He couldn’t risk being thrown in jail, Uki didn’t want to leave Shoto alone in the future.
Standing a step away from Hana, Uki glared into her eyes without blinking. “If I ever hear a whisper of a rumor, a single peep from you about Shoto, or if you even approach Shoto again, I will expose you. Your address, your social security number, your dark history with unexpected pregnancies, your affairs with your bestfriends boyfriends, your history with drugs, everything will be aired. There won’t be a single person in this fucking town who won’t know how fucking pathetic you are by the time I’m finished with you, Hana, if I so much as think you’re talking to my boyfriend and infecting him with your dumbass jealousy. Do you understand me?”
Observing silently as Hana’s face got progressively paler, Uki stared at the other girl with a challenging gaze.
He wished this bitch would test him.
“You- you can’t do that!” She yelled suddenly. “You’re lying, yo- you don’t know what you talking about.
Smiling sadistically, Uki pulled out his phone and started typing a new message.
“It’s cute that you think I can’t,” Uki giggled softly, sending out the message he finished.
Watching in amusement as Hana checked her phone and gasped, Uki laughed at their situation.
Checkmate.
“How do you have these screenshots, how- how did you get any of this?” She asked in horror. “HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?”
“Stay away from my man and keep your fucking mouth shut and you won’t have to find out,” Uki whispered sweetly, voice laced with venom.
Stepping away from Hana and turning around to leave, Uki started humming to himself. He would be eating lunch on the roof with Shoto today, and his boyfriends had something he was excited to show Uki.
It was cute, and Uki was glad he felt better.
Stopping abruptly, Uki glanced behind him. “Oh yeah, and also before I forget,” Uki added, “if you tell anyone about what I said today, I’ll fucking end you. And trust me, I’ll know if you tell anyone. I have eyes and ears everywhere.”
Ignoring the sobs he could hear from behind him, Uki continued humming as he headed towards the roof. He wondered what Shoto’s surprise would be.
—
“Uki! You’re back,” Shoto said excitedly, reaching into the bag on his arm. “I got the strawberry milk that you wanted! Oh, and they had eggs on sale at the store yesterday so I made you some homemade omelets to eat with the lunch you brought!”
Accepting the beverage Shoto offered him, Uki looked at his boyfriend in adoration.
“Thanks baby,” Uki whispered softly, eyes focused fully on the boy in front of him.
“You’re welcome!” Shoto responded slightly distractedly as he rummaged through his bag to pull out his lunch. “Oh, did you hear what Mysta did at practice yesterday? So basically what happened was-”
Listening to his boyfriend go off on a tangent about whatever poor idea Mysta managed to wring the rest of the volleyball team into, Uki leaned his head into his arm and observed the other boy softly.
He was glad everything worked out and that Shoto was feeling better now. Uki didn't want the other boy to ever think he wasn't a blessing ever again. Listening to Shoto happily, Uki smiled to himself.
Yeah, they would be okay in the future. Uki would make sure of it.
