F!Spider!Avenger!Reader x Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Everyone lives AU - Set after DS:MoM)

The day you met the Avengers, your life changed forever.

You were swinging across the city minding your own business. There had been no threats in the past few weeks so you enjoyed your freedom as you swung through the air. You hadn't expected anything to go wrong today... That was when your spider sense tingled, but you were too late to react as a blast of red flooded your vision - You were still working on controlling and understanding your powers. You braced for impact as you smacked into the side of a building and tumbled down to the ground, you crashed down in between a bunch of trash cans in a dirty alleyway.

Groaning, you allowed your vision to readjust. You were about to stand but a familiar hammer was held down on your stomach, preventing you from standing.

"State your business here!" a loud voice spoke, making your head ring. You finally noticed who was hovering above you.

"I-I-" you started, unsure of how to react to an Avenger hovering above you.

"Jane!" another voice exclaimed as footsteps approached, "Let them up, they're just a kid."

"What have I told you about calling me that?" Jane sighed, "You were the one who made the order to take them out of the sky in the first place. You can fly and yet you get others to do your dirty business," she reluctantly lifted her hammer. That was when the other person leaned down to offer you a hand, you gladly took it - letting out a groan of pain once you were on your feet.

"Well, Mighty Thor... I didn't expect Wanda to hit her so hard," he replied before turning towards you, "Sorry about that. I'm-"

"The new Captain America: Sam Wilson," you breathed out, waving his hand away, "Yeah, I know who you guys are."

He let out a chuckle, "Of course you do."

You finally felt a surge of annoyance, "Why did you shoot me down?"

"It was a bit unnecessary..." someone else muttered as they appeared from around a nearby corner.

"You agreed to it!" Thor scoffed.

Your breath caught in your throat, your annoyance surprisingly disappeared. You finally knew who had actually took you out of the sky... The one and only Scarlet Witch. Wanda. You were glad that your mask was hiding your blush. You had had a stupid 'celebrity crush' on her for a while now... And now you were actually here in the flesh with her.
You noticed her darkened fingers. You had briefly heard about what she had been through recently but nothing concrete.

"Sam insisted," she tried to reason. She then came over to you, "Sorry for hitting you a bit too hard. I-I didn't hurt you, did I?"

"Water under the bridge," you nodded, "Already forgotten. Nothing my rapid healing can't handle."

Thor and Sam looked at you in confusion.

"O-Oh?" Wanda smiled, "I'm still sorry, but... Sam thought you were a threat. Well, assuming you aren't a threat?"

"Not a threat, promise," you reassured them.

"Good," Sam stepped forward, "We've already got our own Spiderman. I'm surprised we haven't seen you around before."

"I've had these powers for a long time now, I've only recently found the courage to learn how to use them. I only deal with petty thefts here and there, nothing too extreme," you explained, "I don't think I could handle anything like you guys do."

Thor finally smiled, understanding that you were indeed not a threat, "I'm sure that's not true. Maybe we could help you?"

Your heart was beating at an incredible rate. Were the Avengers really offering you a position?

Sam folded his arms, "It's up to youuu... What was your name again?"

Gulping, you hummed, "Erm... My name is..." you paused as your thought. You hadn't really thought about a name before. Your spider suit was pretty similar to Spider-Man's but it was pure black with purple accents, "Spider Noir."

"Spider Noir?" Thor questioned, "That's pretty similar to Black Widow."

"Well, that's my name," you stood by your choice.

"I meant your real name," Sam sighed.

Shaking your head, "No can do. Secret identities and all that." You had learnt that it would probably be a lot safer in the long run if you remained anonymous.

"I like it," Wanda assured, "Mysterious."

"Th-Thanks," your wide smile was hidden by your mask.

That was the day your life as an Avenger began. Sam had offered you to swing by the rebuilt Avengers compound whenever you were free. He was happy to get Spiderman, who you soon learned was Peter Parker, to help you. You were surprised that everyone in the Avengers knew Spiderman's identity, but that wasn't enough to convince you to reveal your own.

By a stroke of luck, you managed to nab yourself a job at the Avengers compound amongst some other applicants. You applied using your real name, not your alias. You wanted the Avengers to get to know the real you without revealing that you were Spider Noir. You definitely didn't want Wanda to get to know you, that was definitely not the reason why you applied- no not at all...

"So for your first order of business, Y/N," Tony said as he headed towards your desk, papers in his hands, "Sam and Steve want you to keep an eye on the security cameras we've installed around the city. Once there's a threat, all you have to do is press this button," he pointed a finger down at a button on your keyboard, "And one of us will come over and check out the footage ourselves. Steve will decide who goes."

"A bit of a big job for me for my first day, don't you think?" you replied, nervously.

He smirked, "Well if you don't think you can handle it..."

"No no no," you quickly said, "I can handle it, I'm just... Nervous, I guess?"

"Understandable," Tony nodded, "Wanda and Clint will be around if you need anything," he turned to leave but quickly raised a finger, "Oh! And don't be alarmed if you hear any explosions. I heard the Guardians would be back later on today and everyone knows how those guys can get."

You hadn't met the Guardians as Spider Noir yet, you were a little excited to say the least.

You were grateful that you had an office to yourself, the rebuilt Avengers compound was much larger than the previous build so they had more rooms to fill. The view out of your window was wonderful, you could see a big fountain and a huge area covered in nothing but sand - you assumed that it was some sort of training area.

The day was going smoothly, nothing appeared on any of the screens apart from a couple shop thefts which were quickly handled by local police.

"How's it going?" A voice caused you jump.

"Oh! Miss Maximoff!" you cleared your throat, hoping that she wouldn't recognise your voice, "It's erm. Going well! Y-Yeah! No crimes to report."

She stood in the open doorway, "Please. Call me Wanda. Tony told me to check on you and how you were handling things."

"Haven't needed to press that button, yet," you replied, motioning towards the keyboard, "Police have taken everything into their own hands today."

"That's good. It's nice to have a break now and then."

You tried your best to keep your eyes off of Wanda, your brain turned to mush around her. You had worked as an Avenger for a couple months as Spider Noir now, her and Peter Parker had quickly become close with you - both were happy to help you grow and master your powers. Peter accepted because he was excited to have another spider-related hero on the team. Wanda accepted because she felt awful for knocking you out of the sky a little too harshly. You weren't complaining.

The day was quickly coming to an end, still no threats had presented themselves. Well, apart from the threat of the Guardians as they had crashed their ship into a nearby lake. You were sort of glad that nothing actually bad had happened on your first day.

Or so you thought...

You flicked to another camera and your eyes widened. There was a huge fire engulfing a tall hotel building, fire-fighters were trying their best to extinguish the flames. It was obviously not going too well. You looked over at your other monitor and flicked it on before searching the for recent news.

And there it was. The fire had already been posted onto numerous news websites, showing that the fire was only getting bigger and there were still civilians trapped inside.

Now this was a threat. You quickly hit the button.

In no time, Clint headed into the room, "I saw the news," he said, leaning in to look at the security camera footage, "Steve is gonna send out-"

"I'm going to make a call to Noir. It could be a good chance for some training for her," Steve said, appearing in the doorway. He put a finger to his earpiece, "Wanda, Tony, you're up. I'll send you the details."

You gulped hard once Steve headed down the hall.

"Your shift's almost up, kid," Clint said, "Just need you to have one last quick check and sign these papers to say you've checked each camera one last time. Just hand the paper off to me or Bruce."

"Y-Yes, I will."

He smiled before exiting the room.

"Shit," you muttered, quickly turning back towards the screen. You flicked through the cameras, checking off each box on the papers as you looked at each one, "Come on, come on," you said, trying to finish up as fast as possible.

Once you were done, you ran over to the door and slammed it shut - you then looked out of the window to make sure nobody was around. You tapped a button on your metallic wristband which was concealed under your sleeve, your suit soon materialised over you. Pushing the window open, you hopped out - making sure to grab the papers before leaving. You swung off one of the outside walls before throwing the papers expertly through a window, they landed on Bruce's desk. You were thankful that he wasn't currently in the room.

Now it was time to head towards the threat.

An alert popped up in your mask, announcing that Steve was trying to contact you.

"Already on the way!" you announced upon answering him.

"You saw the news then, I take it," he replied, "Be careful out there, Noir. Wanda and Tony are almost there. I'll send in Thor and Jane if you guys need any more backup. Just get the civilians out and let the authorities take care of the fire."

"Got it, boss," you said before he hung up.

Landing on a building close to the fire was the best way to get a look at what you were dealing with. The sound of thrusters caught your attention.

"What are we lookin' at here?" Tony landed next to you. Wanda soon landed on your other side.

"Unknown amount of civilians still inside," you said with urgency.

"I'll take the higher floors," Wanda decided, already leaping off the building and flying towards the top of the hotel. You couldn't help but stare as she ascended.

Tony tapped a button on his wrist, "I'll see if I can put out some of the fire to help you guys. I'll scan each floor for lifeforms, too. Good luck, kid," he nodded towards you before boosting off.

Taking a deep and shaky breath, you sprung into action. You prayed that you would be able to rely on your spider sense today.

A window near the middle of hotel was surprisingly not engulfed by flames, you took the chance and dived into one of the hotel rooms. You wasted no time in bursting into the hallway before running down the length of it, kicking down every door in the process to make sure you didn't miss anyone.

"Spiderman?!" a young girl tapped you on the back of your leg. You immediately saw the tears in her eyes.

You quickly picked the child up, sprinting back down the hall, "Call me: Noir," you said. A loud explosion caused you to flinch. Now was the time to get off of this floor. You tried your best not to let the scared child distract you, her scared sobs growing louder in the process.

"I've detected a couple lifeforms near you Wanda," you heard Tony say over comms.

"Already working on it," she replied.

You headed towards the end of the hall and flung the window open, "Hold on tight, okay?" you said to her, not giving her time to respond as you immediately dove out of the window. She let out a shriek as you swung down towards the ground, on the opposite side of the street.

"Thank you! Thank you!" a woman exclaimed, tears streaming down her face as she ran over. Who you assumed to be her husband ran over with her. She grabbed the child and held her close, "W-We got separated in the crowd. I thought-" she said, her breathing ragged.

"It's okay," you said, "We're doing everything we can to get everyone-" you paused, eyes widening.

Spider sense.

A loud explosion occurred at the top of the hotel, causing you to turn and look up. A huge portion of the building was now crumbling down to the ground, "Get back!" you exclaimed, running over to a group of people. You held your hands out and quickly shot a web towards them, you pulled them away from the falling debris just in time.

"Thank you, Spiderman!" a man shouted.

"Call me: Noir!" you exclaimed before looking back up.

"Noir! Wanda's gone silent!" Tony said, "There's a couple lifeforms near the lower levels, I'll take care of them."

"Wanda..." you whispered before quickly flinging your arms upwards. You launched yourself up towards the huge opening in the side of the building. Dark smoke covered the floor, you were glad that your mask ventilated it well, "Wanda!" you called, stepping through flames - trying your best to ignore the heat.

Panic started to flood throughout you. Wanda was definitely on this floor somewhere.

"Wanda!" you called again. You managed to dodge a part of the ceiling falling down along the way.

That was when you noticed a blinding red light appear down the hall. Wanda let out a burst of magic to try and get your attention.

"N-Noir," she said, her voice clearly weak.

She had been completely crushed by the ceiling above her, blood was dripping from her head. You knew that Wanda was strong and one of the most powerful magic users to ever exist, but that didn't stop her from getting hurt.

"I'm here, I'm here!" you said, trying to not let the panic get to you. You headed over towards her, flinging off as much of the debris as you could with your webs, "We've gotta get out of here. Fast."

You put your hands under her arms to help her up, she immediately stumbled into you once she was on her feet.

Wanda started to breath heavily, her eyes started to flutter closed, "Noir..."

"I've got you," you whispered, putting an arm around her waist pulling her close, "Just hold on. Try not to breathe in too much of the smoke."

You made it back towards the opening in the wall as fast as you possibly could, you were putting your full trust in your spider sense at this point as your made your way through the burning building.

"Status on Wanda?" Tony asked.

"She's alive," you replied just before you jumped off the ledge, holding onto Wanda tightly.

"All civilians have been evacuated. I'll help the authorities put the rest of the fire out."

You swung back to the building you had first landed on upon arriving, Wanda immediately crumbled to her knees upon landing, "Hey, hey! Are you okay?" you knelt down in front of her, your hands coming up to her cheeks as your eyes inspected her for any wounds.

"J-Just a bit shaken up," she said before groaning in pain, "I hurt my leg pretty bad, but it'll heal. I have a banging headache too..." From the way Wanda was acting, you assumed that her head wound wasn't too extreme. You would still make sure she got it checked out.

Without thinking, you stroked her cheek with your thumb, "I'm so sorry I didn't get to you quicker."

"It's okay. I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you. Thank you, Noir," she smiled.

The pair of you had been staring into at each other for a questionable amount of time, "D-Don't mention it, Wanda," you dropped your hands before standing up to look back towards the hotel. You cleared your throat, "Tony seems to be clearing up the fire pretty well." You were once again grateful that your mask was hiding your reddened cheeks.

"That's good," Wanda said, a little disappointment laced her words as she watched you move further away from her.

You looked over your shoulder towards Wanda, "You need help getting back to the compound?"

Shaking her head, "N-No, it's okay. I just need to take a moment."

"Are you sure? I really don't mind-"

"It's fine," she nodded, "You've done more than enough, really," she continued to reassure you.

"If you're sure..."

"Head down there and make sure everyone's okay. They're the priority."

You're a priority to me...

"Okay," you muttered, "Just take it easy. Please." You jumped off the building and headed down towards the ground.

You failed to notice Wanda's soft smile as she watched you leave.

Thanks for reading!

I've just been so obsessed with Wanda/Elizabeth Olsen recently!

Chapter Text

I didn't expect the first part to do so well... I'm speechless at the feedback/responses. I love you all so much.

Enjoy!

You stopped in your path as your nerves started to surface once you finally saw her. You hadn't seen Wanda since she was injured a couple weeks ago, she had been locked up in her room within the compound away from everyone else. You hoped that she was okay.

"H-Hello, Miss Maximoff," you gulped as you saw her sitting down on a chair in the break room.

"I've told you to call me Wanda, dear," she let out a small laugh, "How have things been? Work is going smoothly, I hope?"

Nodding, you replied, "As smooth as things could be. Clint has been a good help. I'm sure you've heard, but Thor had to leave for New Asgard because of some daily crimes over there. Infinity Conez has been a target for a lot of theft lately. Other than that, apart from two or three crimes I- the Avengers had to deal with, nothing has really happened..." you trailed off, taking in her features as she blew her coffee before sipping it. You leaned against a nearby counter and cleared your throat before continuing, "How erm... How are you feeling? I heard that something happened to you when you were sent out by Steve." You prayed that she wouldn't catch onto your lies.

She motioned down towards her foot, "Sprained ankle. Severe damage apparently, according to doctors. I'd say I came out okay considering everything that happened, though. My magic is slowly helping me with the healing process at least," she held up a hand, you watched the red magic swirl through her fingers. Darkened fingers. You bit your lip to stop yourself from asking her about them, thinking that it was an extremely personal question and you really didn't want to overstep any boundaries. A soft smile appeared on her lips, a whisper soon escaped her, "Spider Noir saved me. She was incredible."

You couldn't help but look away, "I'm glad you're okay, Miss Ma- Wanda. Will you... be out on the field again soon?" you asked, secretly hoping that she would. You missed fighting side by side, you had also been assigned to go on patrols with a number of different Avengers as Spider Noir and you prayed that she would be your partner for at least one day.

She nodded, "I expect so."

"I'll see if I can get Steve to give you a longer break," you smiled up at her.

"Good luck with that," she laughed before taking another sip of coffee, "Sam could probably be swayed... But Steve? Now, that's a challenge."

You couldn't help but admire her laugh, you had to shake your head to break you away from your trance - you quickly opened a cupboard and began to make a drink, anything to distract yourself from the other woman in the room. Clearing your throat as you started to pour a drink, you spoke, "I'll get out of your hair. I've got a couple things to do, what with work and all."

"Hmm..." you couldn't help but notice how deep in thought she was, "Good luck. I'll be around a lot more if you need any help."

"Th-Thanks," you turned your head to hide your blush as you walked past her seat.

As you were about to leave the room, Wanda quickly called, "Y/N?" you turned to look at her, hoping that your cheeks had returned to a somewhat normal color, "Since you are starting to assign the Avengers for specific missions... Perhaps you could have a chat with Sam and Steve about assigning Avengers for... patrols, too?"

"O-Oh?" you hoped that she didn't hear the sadness in your voice. The thought of her wanting to spend some time with someone other than you...

"If that's not too much to ask, of course?"

"N-No! Not at all," you assured, "Who did you...?"

"Spider Noir, if possible," her eyes looked down towards the cup of coffee in her hands.

That was when your heart started to beat rapidly, "S-Spider Noir? The newbie?"

She nodded, "Yes. Although I wouldn't really class her as a newbie anymore, it has been a couple months. I just wanted to get to know her more, I guess? I still feel awful for knocking her out of the sky when we first met," she let out a disappointed sigh.

"Yes!" you said, a little too enthusiastically, "I will speak to Sam and Steve."

"Thank you," she looked up and nodded towards you.

That was when you took your leave, your heart continued to beat fast.

"Go on! Give it a try!"

You scoffed, "You're just mocking me."

"I'm not mocking you! What if deep down you are worthy?!"

Jane, or Mighty Thor as she preferred to go by, had called you to come over to the Avengers compound for a little get-together. The problem was, she was calling Spider Noir. So as soon as you left the building as Y/N, you immediately swung back in as Spider Noir.

You lifted your mask to knock back a shot of alcohol before slamming the glass down on the coffee table, you quickly lowered your mask to hide your mouth once again.

"I'm getting a huge sense of deja vu," Steve chuckled as he leaned back in his seat, "Go on, kid. Give it a try," he encouraged you.

"Oh, this I gotta see," Bucky laughed as he folded his arms and stood behind you, waiting for you to pick up Mjölnir.

"I'll do it as long as everyone else tries," you decided.

Steve shrugged, "I mean, I don't need to try."

"What? Why?" you questioned, slightly confused.

"Steve has already proved to be worthy," Tony said as he approached.

"Really?" shock laced your words.

"Yup," Steve smirked towards you.

Jane placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, "Come on. Give it a shot."

Of course, you couldn't say no.

That obviously didn't go well.

Everyone started to laugh as each Avenger took turns to try and pick up Mjölnir. Clint, Tony, Bucky- Even Natasha and Sam came over to have a go. The final Avenger to take the stand was Steve, and of course he picked it up with ease, "Still not used to that feeling," he chuckled before handing it back to Jane.

"Maybe one day, guys!" Jane smirked before taking a sip of her drink.

The people around you started to chat, that was when you cocked your head and spoke to Jane, "Sooo..." you took a seat in between Jane and Clint, "You go by Thor. But... Thor also goes by Thor. Right?"

"Yes?"

"So what happens when you're both in the same room? What do people call Thor?"

"Thor."

"And what do people call you?"

"Thor."

Confusion. Nothing but confusion.

"You've lost me," you held your head in your hands.

"Just call her Jane," Clint nudged your shoulder with a smile on his lips.

Jane glared at you and him, "Call me Mighty Thor at least."

Holding your hands up in defence and looking back up at her, you replied, "Okay, okay. Mighty Thor, it is," a laugh escaped you. This was the first time you had had a proper conversation with Jane since being here. You had exchanged hellos here and there, but nothing too concrete.

A much as you were enjoying the company of a number of different Avengers you still glanced around the room, hoping to find a certain witch.

Your eyes quickly locked onto her. She was sitting down by the bar, a pained expression crossing her face as she slowly drank from her cup. She occasionally glared towards Jane who was still seated next to you. Your senses tingled slightly at the sight. You excused yourself before standing.

You pointed your wrists up towards the ceiling and latched on, pulling yourself up.

"I swear, if I find any footprints up there!" Tony exclaimed from below.

"No promises!" you called back with a laugh as you crawled along the ceiling.

Wanda couldn't stop the smile from appearing on her face as she watched you lower yourself down next to her, "Nice of you to swing by," she said as you took a seat next to her.

You laughed at her attempt of a joke, "I sensed that something was up. Just wanted to make sure you were okay."

Her smile turned sad before she turned to lean her arms down against the bar, turning her glass in her hands, "It's my ankle. Again. I hoped that my magic would help heal it. I'm just slightly worried that it won't."

"With or without magic, it will heal on its own," you did your best to reassure her.

"I know... I just would've liked to be back out there on the field sooner."

"Oh?" you wondered, "Any particular reason?"

She sighed heavily, taking another gulp of her drink, "I... Did some things I'm not proud of. I've been doing my best to go out there on every possible mission to try and help as many people as I can to hopefully make up for the things I did. I hate just sitting here and doing nothing, I have to be out there as soon as possible to continue making up for my mistakes."

"Sounds like you're being a bit too hard on yourself, Wanda."

"If you knew the things that I did..." she muttered.

"I'd still support you," you reassured, "You deserve a break here and there. You'll be back on your feet in no time, though. Just gotta get as much rest in as you can for now," you placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and squeezed it slightly.

Wanda downed the rest of her drink in response, "I also wanted to get back out there so... So I could go on patrols with you."

You dropped your hand before letting out a shaky breath, "With me?" your turned your head away slightly, as if you were trying to hide your blush despite having a mask.

"I'm so grateful that you saved me, Noir. I want to be with you as much as possible so I can return the favour."

"I would do it again, Wanda," you shook your head, "You don't need to return the favour at all. I wasn't just going to leave you there."

"I still remain thankful. You deserve to have someone watching your back at all times."

You let out a small laugh, "You're welcome, Wanda," your voice was soft.

"Y/N even said she would speak to Steve and Sam about letting us go out together. I hope she can get through to them.

You couldn't help but bite your lip.

A peaceful atmosphere surrounded you and Wanda. You drank together, with you lifting your mask up every now and then to take a sip. You missed the subtle glances that Wanda took towards your lips, she hoped that she would find out who you were one day. The two of you joked together, a couple other Avengers came and went - joining in with your conversation. They were happily welcomed by the two of you.

"We have to go back to training again. I miss those first few weeks with you... a-and Peter," you admitted.

"But you've already come so far?" Wanda questioned, "You've already mastered your powers by the looks of things."

"Couldn't hurt to have another session anyways?"

Wanda wasn't able to resist, "No. I guess not. Once this thing has healed up," she nodded down towards her ankle, "I'll ask Peter to join us."

"Or... We could just train together?"

"J-Just the two of us?" Wanda's voice was barely a whisper.

"Yeah! I-If you'd like that of course! We can have Peter join if that's too uncomfortable-"

"No, it's fine!" she quickly replied, "I... I would like to train with you."

"You would make a worthy opponent," you nudged her, "Don't you dare hold back."

Wanda smirked, her trademark head tilt made your body stiffen, "Careful what you wish for."

You couldn't wait until her foot healed.

Wanda had reluctantly let you go off to talk to some of the others before the night was officially over. She couldn't help but tense up as she watched a certain someone approach you.

"Well well well..." a voice behind you caught your attention, "If it isn't the one and only Spider Noir."

Your jaw almost dropped to the floor as you finally saw who it was, "D-Doctor Strange, sir!" you hadn't met him yet due to classified business that he and his partner 'Clea' had been getting up to. You firmly took his hand and shook it, "It's a pleasure meeting you, honestly. I've heard so much about you."

He chuckled at your greeting, "It's a pleasure to meet you, too. I'm quite impressed with how you've been handling things around here. According to the other Avengers, you've been doing well."

"Th-Thanks!" you exclaimed before finally let his hand go. Before you could get another word in, someone else interrupted.

"Stephen!" a girl shouted, clearly excited as she approached, "You're back! I'm kind of offended that you didn't call," she smirked, folding her arms.

"I only just got back, kiddo," he smiled down at her before he looked back towards you, "Oh! Spider Noir, this is America Chavez. She can erm... Travel the multiverse."

"By choice?" you questioned, slightly shocked, "That's... pretty cool."

America shrugged, "It's okay, I guess."

"'Okay'?!" you scoffed, "Anyone would kill to have powers like that." Unbeknownst to you, Wanda was listening in - a shiver ran down her spine as she heard your words.

The girl laughed, "Yeah, you're right. It's pretty awesome," she then held out her hand, "It's nice to meet you... Sorry, who are you, again?"

"Everyone has seemed to adopt the name 'Noir' for me so... Call me that, or whatever you feel like," you shook her hand, "And I'm already doing a much better job at keeping my identity a secret unlike another certain spider!" you raised your voice slightly, catching the attention of Peter Parker.

"Hey!" he called over, "I-It's not my fault!"

You and America smiled before releasing each other's hands.

"I'm yet again impressed with how well you're handling this secret identity business," Stephen nodded.

The three of you talked, enjoying each other's company. You briefly glanced towards Wanda every now and then. The final time you looked at her, the red glow within her eyes caught your attention.

The get together was going swimmingly, everyone was having a good time just chatting amongst themselves. But in the corner of the room, a certain darkness loomed. Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, was tensing her body as her eyes caught yours.

Stephen and America seemed to notice the shift of tension too, "Has Wanda been okay since I left?" the sorcerer asked America.

"Y-Yeah," she gulped in response, quickly averting her gaze away from the witch.

"What?" you suddenly asked, "Did something happen, or...?"

The other two gave eachother a concerned glance, "I don't think it's right for us to speak of this," Stephen admitted. A certain sadness glossed over his eyes as he briefly looked towards Wanda, "Lets just say, the three of us didn't exactly have the best encounter when I was last here."

"If it's any consolation, she's been doing great since I've been here. What with her saving the city time and time again," you stuck up for her in an instant, despite not knowing the true destruction she had created in the past.

"I don't doubt that she has grown and become a great help to this team. But it still doesn't make up for the pain she caused to numerous amounts of people, America included," Stephen was clearly agitated by the thoughts within his head.

You held up your hands in defence, "Okay. Sorry for prying. I just... It's hard to even imagine Wanda causing any sort of damage, and yet you say different..."

"Don't let us change how you think of her," America quickly inputted, "Please? It's nice to know that she has someone who cares about her."

"Wh-What? Cares?" you questioned.

The girl shrugged, "Yeah. I get that you care about your girlfriend so don't let us stop you-"

"G-Girlfriend?!" you questioned yet again, "Y-You're mistaken, America!" a nervous laugh escaped you.

"Ohhhh..." America laughed, "Okay. I get that you care about your soon-to-be-girlfriend, then."

"And on that note, I'm leaving," you scoffed as you felt the familiar burn of blush cross your cheeks, you headed away before calling over your shoulder, "It was nice to meet you both!"

Stephen couldn't help but laugh along with the young girl.

Wanda's breathing was laboured.

"And I'm already doing a much better job at keeping my identity a secret unlike another certain spider!"

She wished that she knew who you were. You had already wiggled your way into her heart and there was no way you would be leaving it anytime soon. The determination to keep your identity a secret is what drew her in to begin with, she made it her mission to find out who you truly were. And that had slowly turned into something more. Despite the constant noise and whispers in her head telling her that you didn't care about her, she still held onto a sliver of hope. Anything to keep her grounded.
When she knocked you out of the sky a little too harshly, her head had been sent into a frenzy. Thoughts of her losing control in the past and hurting America and others across the multiverse surfaced once again.

"Anyone would kill to have powers like that."

That was when her fist clenched hard around her glass as she looked through the corner of her eye towards you.

And Stephen Strange.

And America Chavez.

The girl she did indeed try to kill for her powers.

When she knocked you out of the sky a little too harshly, her head had been sent into a frenzy. Thoughts of her losing control in the past and hurting America and others across the multiverse surfaced once again.

Of course Wanda still had 'dreams' about her other selves and her children. But the Avengers had welcomed her back to her surprise, and now she was on the path to becoming better and learning from her mistakes. She still donned the Scarlet Witch persona whilst out on the battlefield, however.
Upon meeting you, the 'dreams' had slowly died down. She thought that it was perhaps she was losing her focus on what she originally wanted... A new want was slowly surfacing within her.

Despite trying to block out what you and the others were saying, she couldn't stop herself from listening in the end.

"I get that you care about your soon-to-be-girlfriend, then."

Wanda almost laughed at that comment, but then she remembered that it was America Chavez who said it. The poor girl who she had most likely traumatized for life. The poor girl who she would forever be sorry towards.

"Hey there, little witch," you quickly came into view, "Everything alright over here? Your eyes were doing that freaky glowy thingy."

Wanda shook her head, her eyes returned to their normal color in no time, "Ah, yes. Just deep in thought, I suppose," she made up a quick lie, it was clearly effective against you.

"Good, good," you nodded.

That was when Wanda remained silent, she tapped her glass on the bar causing a bartender to head over and fill it for her. The woman downed it in one go.

You weren't about to question whether or not she was actually okay. But by the looks of things, she definitely wasn't.

There was still quite a lot you didn't know about the Scarlet Witch, it seemed. But you sure as hell wanted to find out.

Chapter Text

Thank you so much for the love and feedback, you lot are making me blush-

"That all you got, witchy?" you teased her, "I can take a hit, you know?"

You and Wanda had been 'fighting' on a field behind the compound. Despite Wanda telling you that she wouldn't hold back, you could tell that she definitely was.

Wanda's eyes glowed a bright red as she flashed a smirk, "We're just getting started," she winked before ascending upwards. A shiver ran up your spine at her response, you barely even realised that she was currently throwing a bolt of red magic towards you.

The two of you were testing reflexes today, it was obvious that you would most likely have the better reflexes due to spider sense. But, Wanda still wanted to put that up to the test. She wanted to make sure that you would be one hundred percent ready for anything that happened to come your way out on each and every mission.

As time went on, you were getting a lot better at reacting to her moves and attacks. The pair of you were making jokes and quips here and there, Wanda soon let out a laugh which effectively distracted you. You just couldn't stop yourself from staring, completely in awe.
You let out a groan as you took the full force of her magic, "Damn, Wands..." you let out a laugh but quickly keeled over in pain.

Wanda's panic started to rise, "No no no no-" she muttered as she descended down towards you, "I'm sorry, I-"

"Relax, little witch," you gave her a thumbs up as you stood, "I told you not to hold back. I'm fine, see?" you raised your arms slightly as you turned around in a circle, "Not a scratch," you physically ached all over, but you knew that your advanced healing abilities would soon kick in.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Wanda nodded, "Okay... I just... I'm trying to stop myself from hurting people. After what happened..." she trailed off.

"I understand," you assured as you placed a hand on her shoulder, "I'm not gonna blame you for 'hurting me' when I've asked you to train. We can stop if you'd like? Pick this up some other time?"

"If you don't mind," she looked away from you.

You dared to move your hand from her shoulder to her cheek to turn her gaze back towards you, "All good, witchy. We'll do this again same time next week if you're up for it by then?"

Gulping, Wanda nodded slightly. She wished that it was actually your hand against her cheek instead of the material of the suit you wore, "I'll let you know. Thank you." She also wished that she could look into your real eyes at this moment.

You couldn't stop yourself from rubbing her cheek slightly with your thumb, the suit you wore managed to give you the extra confidence to do things like this here and there. It wasn't the first time you and Wanda had been alone together in a quiet moment like this.

"Ready to go back in?" you asked, "We could-"

"Are you ever going to tell me who you are?" Wanda suddenly cut you off, sounding just a little desperate.

In response, you quickly dropped your hand and took a step back, "I..." you turned your head, trying your best to focus on anything but her, "M-Maybe? I don't-" You had actually intended to tell the Avengers who you were a couple weeks ago... The only thing holding you back was Wanda.

Wanda had quickly become one of your closest friends within the Avengers and you really didn't want to lose that. You didn't want to lose the potential chance of actually being with Wanda in the future... That was what you were working towards in the first place. Your feelings for Wanda had grown a lot more quickly than you had expected. What if she hated who you were underneath the mask? What if she realised how weak and vulnerable you were without the suit? Your fears were too great to ignore.

"You don't trust me?" Wanda's voice was quiet, but you could hear the slight anger lacing her words - her glowing red eyes locked onto the ground. A pout found its way onto her face.

"It's got nothing to do with trust, Wanda!" you tried to reassure her, "I'm just..."

She looked up at you with a sad expression, her eyes still red, "You won't ever tell me, will you?" she did that signature head-tilt... the one you knew she did when she was indeed angry.

"I never said that," you sighed, "I just need time, Wanda. Please?" You were still working on trying to become friends with Wanda as your civilian self, it was proving to be quite a challenge.

"Sure, Noir," she grumbled before turning towards the compound, "I'll catch you later, okay?" she said, your heart clenched at the sight of her frown as she walked away.

"Wanda..." you sighed, the woman didn't turn around at your words. An irritated sigh escaped you as you whispered to yourself, "Nice going, Y/N..." you scolded yourself.

"I see you've finished up quickly?"

"Yeah," you smiled, "Tony didn't give me as much paperwork as usual today. I'm starting to think he likes me," your smile turned into a smirk.

Natasha had checked in on you from time to time when Clint wasn't available, it was nice to have a fresh face to talk to. Even a couple of the other Avengers had popped in to say hi here and there. You were glad the Avengers were starting to welcome you more as you had recently decided that it might be best to actually get to know everyone else and not just Wanda... Anything to get your mind off that woman.

Walking by you to grab a drink from the fridge, Natasha smiled back, "I knew Tony would go soft on you. You're our head tech girl after all."

"H-Head?" you stuttered, almost choking on your drink.

"Tony didn't tell you? Him and Steve decided to make you the manager of everything tech-related here. Which also means a higher pay," she winked at you before slamming the fridge door shut.

"Wow..." you whispered, "I will try my best not to let you guys down."

"You've done great so far, don't be too hard on yourself," she nudged your shoulder, "We've known about so many more threats because of you. So don't worry."

"Thanks," you said, a slight blush on your cheeks.

"No prob-"

"KATE BISHOP!" a very angry sounding voice could be heard from the hall.

"Great..." you heard Natasha sigh before she quickly downed her drink in one, "They're here way too early for my liking," a frown appeared on her face.

You raised an eyebrow, "If you don't mind me asking. Who?"

"Yelena. My sister. And Kate. Her... Friend? I don't really know where those two stand," she replied. She couldn't stop the smile from appearing as her sister showed her face from around the corner.

"You have a sister?" you muttered as a blonde woman walked in.

"Yelena," Natasha sighed before bringing her sister into a hug, "Why are you and Kate fighting? Again?"

Yelena simply groaned as she pulled away, "She is so infuriating! She thought it would be best if I was her test subject for some of those 'trick arrows' Barton gave her."

You couldn't help but laugh, you had seen what some of those trick arrows could do out on the field.

"And who do we have here?" the blonde approached.

"Leave her alone," Natasha warned.

Yelena rolled her eyes, "I'm simply interested!"

"Er... Y-Y/N, Miss... Romanoff?" you gulped as she eyed you up and down.

"Yelena Belova," she corrected, "And please. What is with the 'Miss'?" she gripped your hand tight before shaking it, she soon pulled you into an unexpected hug, "Pleasure to meet you."

Well... Getting to know everyone else was going surprisingly well.

Her teeth clenched hard. Her eyes were glowing red.

Wanda had been sitting at a table on the far side of the break room watching everyone around her. The thought of you not revealing your identity was sending her into a spiral. Deep down she knew that it wasn't a trust issue... But there was still a nagging feeling in the back of her head saying otherwise.

She would be lying if she said she hadn't tried to read your mind every time you trained together. But it was proving to be extremely difficult, and Wanda was unsure as to why.

"KATE BISHOP!"

An angry voice made her look towards the doorway on the other side of the room, a blonde woman soon came rushing in.

Ah. Yelena. Wanda had met her once before.

She watched as you were crushed by the blonde in a hug with Natasha laughing nearby. Wanda had spoken to you countless times about tech-related stuff, things that she didn't really understand. But she was learning. She had also praised you for helping the Avengers by alerting them regarding certain threats across the city. You were becoming a good asset to the tech team, that's for sure.

"Everything okay over here, wi-?" Witchy. You cleared your throat, quickly stopping yourself from spitting out the nickname, "Miss Maximoff?"

Wanda was too busy deep in her thoughts to even notice you approach, she shook her head before looking at you, "O-Oh? Er... Yes. And for the last time. Call me-"

"Wanda," you rolled your eyes with a smirk. You decided not to comment on her eyes once they finally returned to their normal color.

She simply smiled in response, "I'm sorry if I missed anything, I was just deep in thought. Did you need anything?"

"No, nothing at all. Just checking up on you."

"You wanted to get away from Belova, didn't you?"

Groaning, you replied, "Being in the middle of those two arguing is intense."

"Mm..." Wanda hummed in agreement, "You get used to her rather quickly. The Bishop girl, too."

You were about to say your goodbyes, but you quickly remembered, "Oh, actually. There was something I wanted to tell you. I-I managed to get you on a patrol route with Noir. Tomorrow, 11pm sharp."

"A Saturday night? Well that's not going to be a walk in the park," she bit her lip, her smile seemed to widen, "Thank you, Y/N. This means a lot."

You cleared your throat before quickly turning your head away, wanting to hide your reddened cheeks upon hearing Wanda's soft voice, "Y-Yep! No problem! I-I hope the patrol goes well for the both of you."

Wanda raised an eyebrow at your sudden reaction.

She was going to question you, but you quickly excused yourself.

"Y/N!" Yelena exclaimed, her arms shot straight up in the air, "I missed you!"

"I was gone for less than five minutes, what-?"

"Nonsense! It felt like an eternity!" she pulled you into yet another hug.

You couldn't help but laugh at how Yelena acted.

Natasha laughed slightly, "You're so weird."

Yelena gasped as she pulled away from you, "How dare you..." she glared at her sister.

You were starting to wonder how these two managed to function in a house together when they were younger.

Getting home after work was always easy. All you had to was tap the metallic wrist band and bam: Spider suit. Swinging back home would always be the most efficient and effective way.

You stepped into your office, closing the door behind you. This had become a daily routine for you. Make sure there was no one outside the window and...

You tapped your wrist and quickly opened the window. The coast was clear. You launched yourself out of the window and swung up onto the high roof of the compound. The sun was setting, you took a deep breath of fresh air in as you watched the bright sky slowly turn darker.

"What are you doing here?"

A voice caused you to jump, you almost fell off the roof in the process.

"I-I, what- Huh?" you questioned, trying to compose yourself in the process.

"I said... What are you doing here?" Wanda.

You cleared your throat, "I... I was just admiring the sunset."

"Hmm. It's just, you're not usually here at this time," she said, slight suspicion in her voice.

You needed to make up a lie as to why you were here. You couldn't have her figuring out that someone who worked at the compound was Noir.

That was when your brain dinged, "I wanted to come over and apologise to you!" you quickly blurted out.

"Apologise?" Wanda asked, confusion across her face.

To be honest. You did want to apologise anyways. So now was a better time than any.

"Yeah," you sighed, taking a seat on the edge of the roof. Wanda cautiously joined you. You took a deep breath before continuing on, "I wanted to say sorry for what happened earlier. I know you want to know who I am, and I'm sorry that I can't tell you. Not yet at least."

"Noir..." Wanda sighed, shaking her head, "You have nothing to apologise for."

"It's not that I don't trust you. Hell, you're probably the person I trust most here."

Wanda felt her heart leap at that confession.

"Then what's holding you back?" she wondered, hurt still laced her words.

"It's a couple things, really. First off, it makes me feel so much safer. Having no one know who are you are gives you so much freedom. I'm not ready to give that up, yet."

"Another thing?" Wanda pushed.

You scratched the back of your neck, "W-Well... I'm... Scared."

"Of what?" she asked, she was clearly worried about why.

"There's this voice in the back of my head that keeps on telling me that nobody will like who I am under the mask. I'm afraid to face the disappointment."

That was when Wanda reached over and grabbed your hands, "You know that I wouldn't judge you, right? I would accept you as I do now. Nothing would change."

You could feel your cheeks heat up at the close contact, "I... I don't know," you admitted in full honesty. You soon felt tears within your eyes, "I've finally found people who accept me. I can't lose everyone here. I can't lose you, Wanda. You're the closest person to me."

Wanda frowned at the noise of your slight sob, "I will be here when you're ready, Noir. You have my word. I can assure you I will like you, whoever you are under that mask," her hands caressed her fabric covering yours, she then quickly added, "W-We all will like you. I promise."

"What if I'm never ready?" you turned away with a whisper.

Wanda's heart clenched at the thought of you never revealing who you were. However, she let out a shaky breath and replied, "Then your identity remains a secret indefinitely. And that is your decision."

"But, you wouldn't like that," you muttered. Your brain and your heart were all muddled up with what you should do.

"It doesn't matter what I do or don't like, Noir," she paused, her eyes focusing on your covered hands, "I would like to apologise for acting cold towards you earlier. Deep down, I do respect your decision to keep your identity a secret. Your feelings are what matters in this situation, no one else's."

"Wanda..."

She squeezed your hand gently, "Whatever you decide. I'm with you every step of the way. Okay?"

Without thinking, you lurched forward and wrapped your arms tightly around her, "Thank you, Wanda."

If you hadn't been wearing a mask, you might've actually kissed her then and there. But for now, You were just thankful that Wanda was on your side. A weight had been lifted off your shoulders that night, the thought of revealing who you really are to Wanda was becoming a pleasant one at last.

Perhaps the day you revealed your identity was a lot closer than you originally thought.

Hope you all have a lovely day/week~

Chapter Text

You and Wanda were waiting in the break room an hour before you were due to leave for patrol, you were resting up as much as you could... Well, as much as you could with a pair of chaotic assassins around.

"Are you ready for your patrol...?" Yelena trailed off.

You nodded, "Noir."

"Noir," she nodded with a hum, "Mysterious. I like it."

Wanda was shooting daggers at the blonde, her eyes burning into the back of her head.

"First you harass Y/N yesterday, and now Noir?" Natasha laughed as she entered the room.

"I am not harassing!" Yelena exclaimed, clearly offended.

"Why don't you go bother that Bishop girl instead?" her sister suggested.

You quickly interrupted, "If it means anything, I don't mind her being here."

Yelena smirked in victory, "See! I am a delight to be around. I am simply making conversation." You couldn't help but laugh.

Natasha raised her hands up in surrender, "Okay. You got me."

"Are you guys usually up at this time?" you questioned them both.

The pair nodded, "Yes. My sleep schedule is a bit errrr... non-existent," Yelena answered, Natasha quickly agreed.

"I'm kind of concerned," you replied.

"I've been trying to get Yelena to sleep," another voice caught your attention, "But she flat out refuses."

"Kate Bishoooop!" Yelena exclaimed, walking over to the girl, "So nice of you to join us."

"I knew you would be up to something so I came to put a stop to it," Kate replied, her eyebrow raised.

The blonde rolled her eyes, "Why does everybody assume I'm up to no good? I'm the innocent one here."

You introduced yourself to the young archer before Natasha moved in to greet her, too.

As Natasha and Kate hugged, you turned towards the table and grabbed a water bottle before swiftly lifting up your mask slightly - you took a couple long gulps of water before placing the bottle back down.

A certain blonde assassin raised an eyebrow towards you once you lowered your mask, "Huh..." she said.

"W-What?" you said, nervously.

"Nothing," Yelena laughed to herself.

You were about to question her but Yelena quickly turned back towards Kate. Natasha decided to back her sister up, "For once, she isn't actually causing any trouble."

"Well, that's good," Kate nodded, "I'm impressed."

"I am reformed," she grabbed Kate's hand and kissed the back of it before dragging the girl towards the door, "We're off to train. Time to show baby hawk how I fight when she doesn't have any trick arrows up her sleeve."

"Er- Lena I'm not sure-"

"Good luck with patrol!" Yelena exclaimed over her shoulder, Kate was crying for help as they disappeared down the hall.

Natasha cleared her throat, "I should probably go after them. Yelena doesn't exactly hold back."

"Have fun," you replied, silently wishing you could see the sparring session. Natasha made her leave.

You glanced over at Wanda who was sitting at a small table in the corner, you approached her with a smile - even though she couldn't physically see you smile.

"Hello, Noir," she greeted, taking a careful sip of her hot drink.

"Hey, little witch," you replied, taking a seat next to her, "Why do you look so blue?"

She sighed, "No reason. I guess I'm just a little tired."

You nudged her shoulder, "We're in this together, you and me."

Wanda smiled at your response. She was glad that you were with her tonight.

You and Wanda had officially made it to 11pm. Both of you were nervous and excited to find out what would happen tonight despite already being extremely tired.

"Good luck out there," Tony slapped on your back, "Wanda. You're in charge," he looked towards the witch.

"I-I am?" she asked, shocked.

You glared at Tony before nudging him, "Am I not good enough for you, old man?"

"No," he simply said before walking away, he looked over his shoulder and smirked towards you.

"I hate you," you muttered before turning to Wanda.

Tony called before he left the room, "Jane and Sam are on call if you need backup tonight. Your shift ends at 5am." He soon exited the room, leaving both you and Wanda alone.

As much as you wanted to go out with Wanda for the night, the fact that you had to stay out till that time was starting to put you off.

Wanda smiled, "Ready to go?"

You nodded, "Yep. Here's hoping I can make it to five in the morning," a sigh managed to escape you, "At least if I do end up falling asleep you won't know because of the mask," you motioned towards your face.

"Oh, I'll know if you fall asleep," Wanda assured before heading towards the door, you were quick on her heels.

"And how is that?"

"I can read minds, remember?"

A nervous laugh escaped you, "Then why have you never read mine? You can find out who I am just like that."

She sighed as you two exited the building, "I can't lie to you. I have tried."

A wave of relief washed over you, "I'm assuming the blockers actually work, then?"

"Blockers?" she asked before ascending into the sky.

"Yes. Blockers. The day after I met Stephen, I asked if he could help me out with keeping my identity even more of secret," you had to run across the grass as there were no buildings to attach to, the trees in the distance would be your only choice to latch on, "I'm surprised you didn't try before that."

Wanda's voice turned sour, she called down to you, "So Stephen knows who you are and I don't?"

"No! Stephen doesn't know! He helped me with the blockers in my head and he didn't need to know my identity to do that. I promise, he doesn't know."

Wanda had a scowl on her face, but it quickly dropped as she sighed, "Y-Yeah, sorry," she realised that she was working herself up.

"It's okay," you understood. You knew that Wanda would be extremely upset if anyone found out your identity before she did, "You know you'll be the first to know who I really am."

Wanda couldn't stop the smile from appearing on her face, "Thank you, Noir."

The two of you finally made it to the treeline, meaning you could join Wanda up in the sky using your webs. You did your best to stay by her side as much as you could, but of course she had to make it a competition as she slowly flew a little higher.

"Wands!" you groaned, "That's not fair!"

"I guess you're just beneath me, Noir," she smirked.

"I'll beat you one day, little witch!" you exclaimed, trying to zip as fast as you could towards the city - Making it a race between you and the Scarlet Witch.

Well. Wanda won. But you chose to ignore that fact.

The moonlight illuminated Wanda's face as you watched her instead of the city down below. The pair of you had taken a seat on a relatively high building in order to watch the streets down below, your legs dangling off the edge of the rooftop. There was plenty of chatter coming from drunk girls leaving a club, a few guys were following them - a wolf whistle was thrown, a punch arrived in the man's face in return. But it was definitely not an Avengers level threat to break apart some petty drunk teenagers. They all sprinted off round the corner, giggling and laughing amongst themselves.

"Did you ever go out to clubs?" you decided to ask.

Wanda shook her head, "No, not really. I've went to a bar here and there with the Avengers but... I had to grow up fast. I didn't have time for clubs."

"Well... Maybe we could go together one day?"

A laugh escaped Wanda, "With you dressed like that?"

You nudged her shoulder with a scoff, "Obviously not! I mean when I reveal my identity, little witch."

"So you're planning on it, then?" Wanda asked, hopefully.

"I'd be lying if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind these past few weeks," you sighed, looking back down at the street below, "I can't tell you when I will be ready, though."

"Take your time," she sighed in response, she understood you despite not liking the idea of having to wait for so long.

"I mean it when I say you will be the first to know, I promise."

"I know," Wanda completely trusted you at this point. All you had to do was not let her down...

A loud scream caught both of your attentions, your heads flicking over towards the source. It was coming from a few blocks away.

"You did say that a Saturday night wouldn't be a walk in the park," you laughed before standing, you offered Wanda a hand which she thankfully took. Her hand didn't stay in yours for long as she pulled it away almost immediately.

Wanda cleared her throat before stepping closer towards the edge of the roof, "At least this will wake us up, hm?"

The pair of you quickly leapt off the building, wasting no time in making your way towards the commotion.

Thugs. A lot of them.

They had taken a few people hostage within a bank, trying their best to break into the vaults. These civilians looked familiar to you... Ah yes, they were the people leaving the club only moments ago. They were being leverage. There were three thugs inside, and a couple more on the outside - guns in their hands.

"Child's play," you scoffed, looking around the corner towards the bank. You had dealt with plenty of robberies in the past. Nothing you couldn't handle.

"Don't get ahead of yourself," Wanda warned from beside you.

Of course, you didn't listen. You immediately dashed around the corner and flung yourself towards the door, "I got this," you called back.

"Noir, wait-!" And of course, you were gone.
Wanda was already in the process of calling for backup... She knew that you weren't going to be reasonable about this situation.

"Come on, guys! We can talk this out!" you exclaimed, approaching the group slowly.

"Back off, Spidey!" a tall man shouted from just outside the front door, a gun pressed to the side of the woman's head ,"You come any closer, and I won't hesitate to shoot."

You raised your hands up, "Hey, hey... Woah... I just wanna talk-"

"You're in no position to be making demands," another man said, this one slightly shorter than the last.

"You know you won't be allowed to leave after this, right?" you questioned.

The woman in the man's grasp began to sob, her eyes clenched shut, "Stop squirming, or-!"

You cut the first man off, "If you do anything to hurt her, you'll regret it."

"I'd like to know what you even plan on doing," the man simply scoffed.

"Noir!" Wanda exclaimed from behind you.

Your spider senses tingled at the sound of Wanda's voice. You quickly turned around and were greeted with even more threats. This time, a woman came up to you, "If I were you, I would leave," she said.

You were effectively surrounded.

That was when a flash of red entered your vision.

The woman in front of you had been hurled onto the ground, the other people thrown to the sides away from you, "I told you to wait!" Wanda exclaimed with anger, quickly running towards you. She manged to grab you just in time, she held her hand out and blocked the stray bullets that were being fired at you from the bank.

"Stop!" someone shouted from inside, "You want the whole police department on us?!" he shouted, his voice angry. The firing ceased. The people who were behind you had scattered, some running towards the bank - others running away down the streets, probably fearing that they would get caught.

Your spider senses tingled once again. There was still someone... a beeping noise soon filled your ears.

"Move!" you exclaimed, suddenly realising what it was. You pushed Wanda as far away from you as you could, the red shield in front of you flickered away.

The woman from before had stuck around and thrown a grenade, a red light was pulsating on the top of it as it rolled towards you.

The last thing you saw was Wanda's scared expression as she sat up from the dusty ground.

A red bubble had formed in front of Wanda on instinct, managing to block any debris from the blast of the grenade from hitting her, "You idiot!" she cried, letting the shield drop once the dust had settled. She stood up, her eyes a flaming red.

"One down. One to go," the woman chuckled.

Wanda didn't even let her approach, she was quickly hit with a strong blast of red magic - sending her into a nearby brick wall.

Wanda placed a finger to her ear in an instant, "Send Sam. Noir needs evac. I still have business to handle." She turned towards the bank and held her hands out, she grabbed a hold of everyone's guns and threw them to the ground. She sent a wave of magic out, knocking everyone to the ground - she made sure not to hurt the hostage in the crossfire.

After a few moments, the comms came to life, "Don't do anything reckless, Wanda," Steve spoke, "Get Noir to a safe space and let the rest of us handle things." Wanda scoffed. If anyone was reckless, it was you. Not her.

The loud engines of a truck echoed through the streets, the noise grew closer and closer by the second.

"Wanda," Steve warned, "Back up is on the way. Get Noir to a safe position so evac can do their job."

Wanda made sure to grab hold of the woman who was taken hostage, lifting her up and away from the men. She shrieked as she was quickly pulled towards Wanda, "Get out of here. Everyone else will be fine," Wanda assured, releasing the woman onto the ground.

"T-Thank you!" she exclaimed before running away.

"Wanda!" Steve exclaimed once again.

"Okay!" Wanda shouted, pure anger fuelling her.

That was when her eyes landed back on your shattered, clearly unconscious form.

She pushed her anger aside, her eyes watering as she lifted you into her arms, her breathing was erratic, "Come on, Noir. Don't you dare go dying on me." She was trying to convince herself that everything was going to be fine. That you were going to be fine.

Wanda managed to haul you up as she flew into the air, making her way towards the roof of a nearby building - away from the danger below. She eventually collapsed onto the rooftop with you still in her arms, your head was rested down against her lap.

"Noir? Come on, Noir," she shook your shoulder gently, but still no response. Panic quickly started to set in. A shaky hand came up towards you neck, her goal was check your pulse to make sure you at least had an acceptable heartrate.

Her fingers pushed up your mask, just enough to be able to find your pulse. After a few moments of searching, Wanda sighed with relief.

That was when she realised just how close she was to you, her fingers remained on your pulse for a lot longer than necessary. It was almost comforting to know that you were still breathing, but then the thought of you being unconscious was enough to make Wanda tense up.

She moved her hand away and grabbed the bottom of the mask in order to pull it down... But she froze.

She could find out who you were. Right here, right now. All she had to do was lift up that mask a little more. And then she would finally be happy.

However, she was beginning to have an argument with herself. Lift the mask, don't lift the mask, lift, don't lift, lift- Her head started to pound. She could already picture the disappointment and distrust you would feel if she did in fact lift that mask up. But surely you would end up forgiving her in the long run? Right?

Without thinking, her fingers gripped the bottom of the mask tight and lifted ever so slightly. Wanda's heart began to beat erratically.

Was she really about to find out who you were?

Wanda continued before a sudden flash of lightning caused her to flinch, the sky lit up blue for a brief moment. On instinct, she pulled the mask back down - fully covering your neck once again. A disappointed sigh escaped her.

"Someone call for the Goddess of Thunder?" heavy footsteps landed behind her.

A jealous wave hit Wanda immediately.

"I thought Sam was supposed to be coming instead?" she cleared her throat, looking over her shoulder towards the blonde.

Jane nodded, "He thought it would be best if I carried Noir back to the compound. What with me being a lot stronger and faster, we both thought it would be the right choice. He's down there handling the last couple of goons, Tony too," she looked over the edge of the building, "And by the looks of things... It seems like they could use your help."

Reluctantly, Wanda allowed Jane to pick Noir up - the blonde managed to hold you tight over her shoulder with one hand. The other hand gripped Mjolnir hard.

"Okay," Wanda sighed as she stood, "Just... get her to the medbay as soon as possible."

"Yes, ma'am," Jane smiled before flinging herself upwards and flying off into the distance.

Wanda couldn't help but glare as Jane flew away with you.

You were awoken by bright lights. Your muscles ached, your breathing laboured.

The last thing you remember was Wanda running towards you, a panicked expression across her face.

Upon glancing around, as your vision came back, you realised that you were in the medbay. The lighting on the ceiling was unnecessarily bright, you immediately felt a banging headache coming on - you suddenly remember getting hit in the back of the head, the throbbing pain soon returned.

You were completely alone within the medbay. At least... you thought you were.

"Well, well, well..." a familiar voice filled your ears, "You are extremely reckless, Y/N."

You reached a hand up, your fingers felt the material of the mask still covering your face. That was when you started to panic, a shaky breath escaped you as you turned towards the intruder.

You did the one thing you didn't want to do. You let Wanda down. Because someone other than her had found out your secret identity before she did.
