Kelsey was the first one to ever get out of his horse and try to contact him. He always knew he would be the first.
It was a year after Sunny left Fawaray Town, after the hospital incident. Actually, he has thought about it ever since he left, but he didn’t know how to approach the subject. Honestly, he still doesn’t. After all, they left on an actual mental (and physical) disaster. But Kel did not want to think about whatever happened last year. He knew the lack of communication ever since was their fault. Yes. Their. As in everyone.
Kel shouldn’t be surprised that Sunny has yet to try contacting either of them, but to be fair, what they did to him… uhm…. Oh yeah, and the fact that no one saw him off…… but by then if he still cared he would still contact them! Kel’s pretty sure he still got their contacts as they never changed in forever.
He needed to think about what to say to him. What about… an apology first? Yeah! He should start with an apology! Sunny sure deserved it after the fiasco of last year. He tried to go to his hospital room the very next day, but the nurse denied entry to him, by the hospital’s request.
Fair. The nurses did have to break off the one-sided fight. Thank you, Aubrey and Hero….
Speaking of Hero, yeah, he’s totally doing it behind his back. He would never allow him to contact Sunny ever again… but Sunny was his friend. His first friend. Kel would never allow himself to not try.
In fact, Kel was (still is) upset about how Hero treated Sunny that day. Words that he spilled sure hit home, as a lot of them were heard before, except for the fact that he was on the receiving end. Words he would never ever spit on his worst enemy. Yet he did all that. And you did absolutely nothing to stop him. Ever since, he has been very low contact with him and just minded his business. His parents were of course not happy with that and were clearly on Hero's side. Not surprised. They should be grateful that they did not know the full extent of what their golden boy did that day, because then, Kel was the only one to approach Basil (read, sneak into Basil's hospital room) the next day and just tell him to avoid ever seeing them again. That he needed time, but for the other two it was better to never even see a single hair of his. That he was sorry and that he was sure that what Sunny did was an accident, but his involvement really hurts. That he wasn't sure if he could forgive them, but he needed time, and maybe they'll be friends again.
What a liar. He had yet to contact Basil too. But this was why he was trying with Sunny first.
He was grateful to their former selves that they shared numbers before the incident at Basil’s house happened. Kel knew he never liked responding to calls, so he prefered texting him.
Kel > Sunny
Kel: hey suuuuuunny
Kel: hey hey hey
Kel: how the citys goin??????
Damn… that sucks. Maybe he should ask first how he is, not about the city…
Kel: btw how are u??????
Kel: btw say hi to ur mom for me too!!
Something's weird. It's the middle of the afternoon and Sunny did not see the spamming yet? Maybe it's the city keeping him busy, or him being a sleepy cat as always, but he could always send now and he would see them later.
He facepalmed. He was supposed to start with an apology.
Kel: ok ok so i wanted to say im sorry for what happened last year
Kel: it wasnt fair to you nor basil
How was he supposed to continue this… Maybe this is why it took Sunny 4 years to speak about his regrets and why he has yet to contact him…
Kel: i'm sorry for letting hero and aubrey speak to you like this
Kel: i believe you when you said it was an accident
Kel: brothers and sister fight all of the time and i remember the fight i had with hero a few years ago
Kel: the one i told you back at the graveward
Kel: i just wanted to tell you that i forgive you
Kel: but can you please please please contact me?????? i wanna make sure you are safe and sound and i dont want to make the same mistakes i did these past 5 years
He feels like he forgot something- AH!!
Kel: it's Kel btw!!!!!!!
Several minutes after sending these few messages, he felt a weight go away. He was feeling a bit better.
And now he prays he will come back to him.
He has waited every day ever since. He never realized why the messages were stuck on "delivered". It would take some time, he thought to himself. He will text back when ready, he thought to himself.
