Stephanie woke the boys up when she cried, Bruce instantly jumped from their comfy bed to check on his little girl.
She slept most of her nights without troubles over the past five weeks, so waking up to the sound of her loud angry screams became relatively unusual.
After he turned on the bedside lamp, Batman tenderly rocked the tiny, wriggling body he scooped up from her cradle.
"So cute," Eddie jested mockingly after he put his glasses on, smiling at the sweet sight of bat-dad shushing his whining bird-baby.
His... friend, is that how he should call Vengeance? and his non-official daughter are such an adorable duo.
"Oh, hush Eddie," Bruce replied after he sang a lullaby until Stephie calmed from her nightmare-induced noisy reaction and watched him with big curious blue eyes. "I saw that tear."
The younger man would have protested, if it wasn't for the fact... nothing changed over the weeks he's been living with Batman and Stephanie: he feels so sensitive and is easily moved by any soft interaction within his little family. He legit broke down in sobs the first time he heard Stephie laugh, so at least he made progresses by only tearing up every now and then when this strong, menacing-on-the-outside vigilante proves to be so caring with the baby he adopted.
Holding his daughter carefully, like a treasure between his arms, Bruce addressed him a smile and invited:
"Come along?"
Edward smirked in return, he stood up from the bed as well and put a kiss on the side of Stephie's head, what made her chirp like an authentic hatchling. They reached the stairs to go down to the kitchen prepare Steph's baby bottle and mugs of hot cocoat for the two of them.
Ed never turned down sharing the full parental experience with his beloved Bat.
