“Okay”, said Hunter as he set a stack of boxes down, “is that everything guys?”.
“Yeah, that’s it!”, responded Edric
“Nothing left over here!”, responded Emira
“Okay, now the only thing left to do is set everything up”, said Hunter as he and the twins started taking stuff out of the boxes.
They were all moving into a nice big apartment thanks to Darius, who helped pay for it as a surprise gift for Hunter’s 21st birthday. Hunter was busy looking for his own place to stay,so this was perfect. However,Hunter asked everyone if they’d be interested in moving in. Luz and Amity declined since they had already found a place of their own, Gus couldn’t since he was still a bit young, and Willow preferred her parent’s place since it was close to the community gym she volunteers at. So, Hunter asked the twins if they’d be interested in moving in with him. After discussing everything with Alador, the twins agreed to the idea. Not only would it give them a sense of greater independence, but that they can have greater fun together.
“You sure you guys are okay with being my roommates?”, asked Hunter
“Of course man, why wouldn’t we be?”, said Ed confidently as he almost drops a crystal ball.
“Well… I feel a bit guilty since you did have to leave your old place and you probably won’t see your dad as much now that your here”, said Hunter with a bit of a sad face
“Hey.. it’s okay”, said Emira with reassurance , “ besides, that old place wasn’t filled with that much great memories… but here, we can make better ones”.
“And, don’t worry about our dad”, said Ed, “we can always talk to him on Penstagram and we can visit him”
“Thanks guys..”, said Hunter(now with a smile on his face), “that means a lot.”
“No problem Hunter,” said Emira
“Plus, there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity of spending more with you”, she now said in a flirtatious voice, “how do you feel about private sleepovers with just you and me?”,she said in a whisper
Hunter blushed at her response, but tried keeping his cool so as to not embarrass himself in front of Emira. Hunter and Emira had been dating prior to moving in, but Hunter didn’t ask her first because he,again, didn’t want to ruin Emira’s relationship with her dad. Now, Hunter was glad she agreed to it.
“Maybe when Ed’s not around”, whispered Hunter back to Emira in a sort of confident voice
They both looked at each other in playful smug, until Ed broke the silence.
“Hey! Love Cardinals! I’m still here and I can still hear you!, said Ed as he was fixing up the kitchen
“I know”, said Em, “ I just want to mess with you while being flirty with my boyfriend, so win-win for me”.
Ed grumbled while Hunter laughed a bit since he now thought that maybe roommates life with the twins wouldn’t be so bad. Once they got everything else settled up, they started to chat together and even play some games. A majority of the time, it was either Emira or Hunter that came out on top, with poor Ed not even getting the chance to win once.
When it was time to go to bed, Ed went to his room, while Emira went with Hunter to their room. While they both had their own beds and their own side of the room since it was pretty big, they would occasionally sleep in each other’s beds when they felt like it to cuddle with each other. This night routine would be normal over the time they’d spend there.
When it came to Hunter and Emira, they were the most comfortable with each other. For instance, they never felt uncomfortable getting dressed and seeing one another after either showering or not in a decent state. They were always truthful with each other and even talked about their future together.
Though, this doesn’t mean they’d leave Ed behind. Edric liked hanging with Hunter, since he’s like the brother he never thought he’d wanted. Hunter also enjoyed Ed’s company since with Gus still at his dad’s place, he felt that it was best to talk to another guy about his interests and form a brotherly bond with him. Emira liked seeing Ed have fun with Hunter since she always liked seeing her brother get along with her future-husband. She also thought that when she and Hunter got married, both she and Hunter would be thrilled to have Ed included as one of his best men.
Ed had gotten used to this and every now and then invited Viney over to the place when she didn’t have plans, or when Hunter and Emira weren’t around. They’d also chat over Penstagram so that Ed didn’t feel lonely.
Though, that doesn’t mean there weren’t any problems since the move in. For instance, whenever Emira and Hunter had their alone time, Ed would occasionally hide some type of prank that would ruin the moment. The group would also butt heads with each other about doing a specific chore around the house from time to time. They would also complain about either one of the three making some loud noises. Another thing was that when Ed was left alone, he would either be found injured or in the apartment unscathed , with parts of it damaged. Emira and Hunter literally had to put a camera system to make sure Ed didn’t destroy anything.
Despite all of this, they enjoyed spending time together with each other. Everything seemed normal as usual for them every time, until one day, 2 years after the move in..
Edric was at home by himself, only this time he didn’t accidentally destroy anything . Viney was busy with work and it was just him scrolling through Penstagram. All of a sudden, Hunter and Emira open the door and the two of them are excited about something big
“What are you guys so cheery about?”, asked Ed
“Let’s just say one the greatest things in our lives just happened”, excitingly said Emira
“Try and guess Ed”, said Hunter who also couldn’t contain his happiness
“You finally agreed to take down the camera system when It’s just me here!?”, asked Ed all excited
“What? No, after that incident last week, you’re still on surveillance buddy”, said Emira as Ed grumbled at the response
“Maybe we should just tell him before he jumps to other conclusions honey”, said Emira to Hunter who nodded in response
“Hunter and I are engaged!”, said Emira as she held out the finger with the engagement ring. The ring had a beautiful green heart in the center with blue stones on the sides while being in a golden finish.
“Woah!, when did this happen?”, asked Ed in shock
“Just 40 minutes ago after a date at the park”, responded Hunter
“Woah! This is awesome congratulations guys”, said Ed since he was happy they were happy
“Thanks Ed”, said Emira and Hunter as they gave Ed a huge hug.
“ Soooo.. when’s the wedding”, said Ed with a smirk on his face
“ We haven’t decided yet”, responded Emira, “ but I can’t wait for it !”
“How about in the winter?”, asked Hunter, “ I mean having a winter wedding sounds pretty nice”
“Gasp, Oh my Titan, Yes!, and since it‘ll be near the holidays, this can also double as a close gathering with everyone we know”, excitingly said Emira
“Plus, it’s about 10 months away, so we’ll have more than enough time to prepare for it!”, said Hunter
“Can I pleeease be your best man Hunter?”, pleaded Ed
“Of course man, you and Gus are going to be my best men”, said Hunter
“Yes! Yes! Yes!, I promise you won’t regret it!”, said Ed who couldn’t contain his excitement
“Ahh! This’ll be great”, said Emira, “ sighs it’s too bad that Hunter and I have to find our place once we get married”.
“Wait what”, asked Ed, confused
“Well, since me and Em are going to be married soon , we’ll have to eventually find our own place for when we start a family”, said Hunter
“ When did you guys decide on starting a family once you were old enough”, asked Ed
“Since we starting dating”, said both Emira and Hunter while blushing slightly
“Fair enough”, said Ed with a bit of a sad tone
“You okay Ed”, asked Emira in a concerned way
“It’s just, I got so used to this place and being with you guys that… I’m kind of afraid of going through this change”, Ed said as he began to tear up
Hunter then out his hand on Ed’s shoulder and said, “Hey, it’s gonna be okay. I mean you can always just call us or message us on Penstagram, or we can even hang out with each other”
“Plus, we aren’t leaving yet, so we have more than enough time to spend together as roommates before Hunter and I find our own place”, said Emira
“Well, who will I roommate with after you guys leave?”, asked Hunter
“You can always ask Viney, doesn’t she talk about wanting to get her own apartment here?” asked Emira
“She has talked about how good this place is, and it’s near her work so it can be more efficient for her”, Ed recalled and realized, “Holy Titan, this could possibly work, but it won’t be the same”
“Oh for the love of deep breath… Look Ed, we’d never leave you behind, okay”, said Emira as she sat Ed down, “ but you need to understand that you can’t stop change, and that it’s sometimes better to let it happen then to fight cause it’ll sometimes never make you happy when you try to stop it”.
Ed thought for a minute, and then said, “you're right… I’m sorry it’s just that… I’ve never done anything without your help, and I’m worried that I’ll mess something up and I won’t know what to do”.
“I know you’ll do fine, as long as you’re cautious and learn from any mistake you might make, then I’m sure you can do this on your own, okay?” , said Emira as she reassured Ed
“Okay”, said Ed as a single tear left his face
He and Emira then shared a hug while Hunter watched with a smile on his face, feeling happy that this went very well. Ed had a bit of trouble letting go of Emira since his one tear turned into a mini waterfall as he hugged Emira. Despite this, Emira didn’t mind cause she knew that this was how he handled his emotions.
As the months go by, the bond between the three roommates is still as strong as ever. However, it’s different for Ed. Since Hunter and Emira are busy planning for their wedding, he hardly gets to spend any time with them. Despite them still staying in the apartment until they get their own place, Ed barely felt any of their presence. Ed’s mood about everything changed every time the day for the wedding drew near. Ed didn’t want anyone to know how he felt about this, so he tried hiding it as best he could. That is, until Viney caught wind of this and asked him what was wrong.
“Ed, what’s bothering you? You went from being extremely cheery to just … sadness”, said Viney.
“Whaaat? Nothing’s wrong babe.. you’re probably just imagining things”, said Ed trying to brush it off
“Ed, I can tell when you’re hiding something, please just talk to me, please?”, pleaded Viney as she begged to help her boyfriend out with anything he needed
“Sighs ,Okay… I’ll tell you everything”, said Ed
Ed then explained his feelings about Emira and Hunter getting married, how life would be without them, and how he’s afraid he’ll screw a bunch of stuff up on his own without Em to help him out. Ed cried a bit during his explanation, but Viney comforted him to make him feel better. Once he was done, Viney then asked what he planned to do now.
“I’m…. I’m going to tell them how I feel and … how much they mean to me”, said Ed as he tried regaining confidence
Viney was proud of what he did and told him that to wait until the wedding for it to happen. She then kissed him on his forehead and gave him a needed hug.
A little later after that, the day of the wedding arrived. Everything looked fantastic. The wedding took place at the castle and everyone from family to friends showed up. In her dressing room, Emira rocked a beautiful yellow dress with a black coat while having her hair down. Hunter, meanwhile, rocked a black turtleneck with a black suit and pants, with a red handkerchief on his left pocket. As you can tell, this wasn’t just a regular wedding. Before the ceremony began, Ed went to speak to both Hunter and Emira, but at different times. First up:Emira
“Hey Em?”, asked Ed
“Yeah Ed”, asked Emira
“Can I talk to you for a bit, it’s important “, said Ed
Emira walked over to him and asked what was wrong. Ed hesitated a bit, but eventually told her everything. When he was done, he was in tears. He couldn’t hold back anymore. He just quietly cried in front of her. Em then hugged her brother tightly, with tears also in her eyes.
“Don’t worry, I’ll always be there when you need me”, said Emira as she still kept crying “, you’ll always be my baby-brother “
“Heheh, twin-brother, jerk”, said Ed as he tried to laugh while still letting his tears drop.Emira also laughed a bit at his joke.
After they both calmed down, Ed went off to go talk to Hunter, but not before hugging his sister one more time. The same thing happened with Hunter, only instead, Hunter comforted Ed in a very non crying manner. He told Ed that change always happens, and that while it may not seem good to others, it’s better to experience it rather than avoid it altogether. Ed and Hunter hugged and did a small handshake before going to their designated areas.
When the ceremony began, it felt as if there was angels singing above the clouds. Emira looked stunning. Hunter looked at his gorgeous bride as she walked toward him. When Emira got there, she teased him a bit for looking very formal for a sickly guy. Hunter laughed a little at her joke while blushing. Their vows were unforgettable. Emira said that while she isn’t the greatest woman in the world, she sees Hunter as the greatest man for her. Hunter says that Emira is the greatest girl in the world in his eyes, and that his love for her will never die out and regardless of what anyone says, they’ll never separate even after death does them part.
After their vows were said, and as Hunter lifted Emira’s veil to reveal her shining face, they shared a deep passionate kiss, almost the same as when they first got together. Everyone cheered and cried tears of joy, especially Ed out of everyone. The rest of the wedding went smoothly. Everyone chatted and shared a laugh.
Then, the toasts began
“Alright everyone, can I get your attention”, said Ed as he tapped his spoon on his glass to get everyone to notice,“I just want to make a toast to my sister and my new brother-in-law/ best friend Hunter”
“Emira… not only do I see you as my sister, but I also see you as the person who I could really count on to help me figure things out in life”
“Although it pains me to know that you’ll start your own chapter in life soon… I know that this is best for you and me… since I need to start doing things completely on my own”
“It may be tough, but I’ll pull through. I wish you nothing but happiness and an amazing life for being an awesome sister to me”
“And Hunter… same with you. Just promise me you’ll keep my sister safe, please?”
Hunter stood up and said, “I’ll keep that promise to you. I’ve already promised Em and myself; what’s another promise?”
And with that guarantee, Ed went up and hugged Hunter. Hunter returned the hug and everyone cheered. Ed then went to Emira and they also shared a hug, with both shedding at least a tear.
“So Hunter, when’s the honeymoon, cause I bet you’ll want to be alone with Em for at least a week”, jokingly said Luz as everyone shared laugh.
Hunter blushed a bit while Emira shared a giggle while saying, “ I mean, I wouldn’t mind that long”
Hunter then said back to Luz, “Big talk for someone who said that she’d want to honeymoon with Amity… FOR A YEAR!”
Luz then blushed along with Amity. “Nevermind, forget what I said… also I’m sorry for not telling you sooner Batata”
Everyone shared a laugh at the comment, even the girls cause they thought about it and thought that’d actually make sense
The rest of the night went great and ended with Hunter and Emira going to a nearby hotel and enjoying the rest of the night in private.
Back at the venue, Edric looked a bit down. Viney and saw this and asked, “Hey, you okay?”
Edric replied, “yeah… just feel a bit weird without them here”
“Want to go get some ice cream”, asked Viney
“Yes”, said Ed in a bit of a sad tone
“Don’t worry, they won’t forget about you. Even when they find their own place, you’ll always be with them”, said Viney as she kissed Ed on his cheek
“Thanks babe”, said Ed, “maybe this won’t be bad in the future… cause at least I’ll still have you”
“Anytime”, said Viney as she hugged Es tightly
The scene ends with Es hugging Viney back while looking into the night sky, wondering what the future might bring.
Okay, I’ll be honest, i kind of procrastinated on this for a while, as well as getting caught up on schoolwork. I might make a short series of this, but let me know if you guys like this so I can work on other ideas for this au. Can’t promise consistent updates, but I’ll try my best. Also, if @Ferret2myth notices this, please let me know if this is good or not. I don’t mind a bit of criticism
