“Okay, you can do this Emira, it’s just a small crowd..waiting to hear your performance and judge you a bit later on whether or not they like it”, said Emira to herself while shaking nervously a bit
Emira was extremely nervous about tonight since she was going to be playing music to a crowd at a local talent show. Things have certainly changed for her ever since she discovered her love of playing music.
Emira never had that much of an interest in playing music, only listening to it. On one particular day though, she discovered something interesting. She was walking through Bonesborough and noticed Eda selling her usual human stuff with Luz. She went to say a quick hi before noticing something else. She noticed a keytar just laying there. After asking Eda if she could see and after Eda said yes, Emira pressed a few buttons that created some music. Emira was so intrigued by this instrument that she bought it and took it to her place.
Normally, her mother wouldn’t approve of this type of instrument,but after the fall of Belos and living with her father along with her siblings, Emira had the freedom to play with whatever instrument she was pleased with. It took a good amount of practice, but she eventually became a master at the keytar.Every time she played infront her family, they were always honest and genuinely enjoyed her music.
One day, while in the streets, she accidentally ran into Hunter. Emira immediately apologized for what happened, but Emira told her not to worry and that mistakes happen. Hunter saw Emira with her keytar and asked her about it. Emira was surprised to learn that Hunter was interested in her instrument, but nonetheless decided to share her love of playing it with Hunter. Hunter asked if she could play some music so he could hear it. Emira agreed, but suggested doing it at her place because she was still a bit self conscious about her playing in public. Hunter agreed and went with Emira to her place. Despite being nervous about playing her music infront of him, Emira managed to deliver a great performance and Hunter congratulated her for it. Before leaving, they exchanged Penstagram info to stay in touch with each other.
In the next few weeks after their encounter, Hunter and Emira’s bond became a bit stronger than before. They eventually asked each other out and became an official couple.Hunter supports his girlfriend’s music playing. One day, Emira decided to take a big step in her music life. She wanted to perform in front of others for the first time. After going to her family and Hunter for advice, they told her she should go for it if it’ll make her feel happy and more confident. With their support, Emira eventually decided to start booking her first gig. Unfortunately, there weren’t as many places she could go to perform and any places she did get accepted into eventually had to let her go due to poor management of events.
Emira felt discouraged cause she thought she’d never get a gig. Thankfully, she managed to get one for a local talent show that was going to happen at Bonesborough. This was due to Hunter scavenging around and signing Emira up for the talent show cause he knew how much Emira wanted a gig. After Hunter told her about it, she was ecstatic and kissed her boyfriend multiple times. Aside from Emira getting a major win, so did Hunter.
Emira decided to get ready for the talent show, which was a few days away. She practiced and practiced for the day of the talent show. When it came, she got dressed for the occasion. She tied his hair, wore a pink shoulder sweater with a shoulder strap, a holographic looking skirt, and net leggings. When Hunter saw her in that look, he liked it so much that when Emira asked what he thought of it, he quickly gave her a kiss on the lips, much to her shock but also comfort since now she knew what he thought of it.
Although everyone else wanted to attend the talent show so they could see Emira perform, all the tickets for show were full and decided to just stream the event live.
When Hunter and Emira got there, Emira suddenly felt nervous about performing. When she saw the amount she would have to perform infront of, she felt a bit uneasy.
“You okay Em?”, asked Hunter, a bit worried.
“Yeah heheh, just a bit nervous that’s all”, responded Emira
“Em, I can tell when you’re hiding something”, said Hunter
“Sighs … it’s just that I’ve been so used to playing in front of you, my family, our friends, that I’m worried that my music won’t be as appreciated here. And I’m afraid that if people hate it, what good is my music?”said Emira, looking very sad.
“Hey, look at me”, said Hunter in reassurance as he lifted Emira’s head so that she’d face him, “it doesn’t matter what those people think. All that matters is you doing what makes you happy and having fun”
“Don’t ever doubt yourself. Ever”, said Hunter with encouragement.
“Okay…I’ll give it my best shot”, said Emira
“Next up, Emira Blight!”, said the announcer of the talent show
Hunter kisses Emira on the cheek before she went up on stage and Emira smiles.
Emira took a deep breath and started playing. She gave out an extravagant performance. People started cheering her on, including Hunter from backstage.Emira was having a wonderful time that she even danced a little while holding her keytar. The second she stopped playing, everyone gave her a standing ovation and came out as the winner. Emira let out tears of joy as she received the award for the talent show. She immediately ran off to Hunter who was waiting for. She quickly ran into his arms and Hunter lifted her up in excitement.
“That was amazing!”, said Hunter in full happiness, “You did incredible”.
“Thank you”, said Emira stilol letting a few tears of joy out, “I don’t think I could have pulled off if it weren’t for your words”
“Hey, when it comes to you, I just want you to be happy and have fun with your interests”, said Hunter, “ I love you Emira Blight”
“I love you too Hunter”, said Emira
The two then shared a deep kiss with Hunter lifting her up in enjoyment.
