When it came to dating, Hunter didn’t have much experience. When he and Emira became official after the whole “Day of Unity” disaster, he was anxious about everything he did to make sure his relationship with her didn’t fail.
One thing that he wanted to make sure went well was their very first date. Hunter and Emira had made plans to attend an exclusive restaurant in Bonesborough. Once the reservation was made, they started preparing for it.
Because Hunter hadn’t been on a date before, along with going to a fancy restaurant, he thought he needed help to learn proper dinner etiquette. The reason why is because nearly everyone who attended the restaurant ate and dressed in an extremely formal manner, all the things Hunter sort of lacked behind in. Because everyone else in his life was busy, he had no choice but to turn to Kikimora for help.
Given their history, Kikimora and Hunter hadn’t been on good terms. During the times Luz tried helping them form some sort of bond, it was always awkward for them. There would just be dead silence between them and any time they tried complimenting each other, it would be followed by them nervously trying to come up with an excuse to leave to avoid further embarrassment.
However, this was important to Hunter, so he had to be confident
“Okay, you can do this Hunter, it’s just a favor to help you out on a date with an extremely beautiful green haired illusion goddess”, said Hunter as he knocked at the door.
“Whatever it is you’re selling, I’m not buying it!”, said Kikimora from her apartment
“It’s me Kikimora”, said Hunter
Kikimora opened the door and was confused to see Hunter on her doorstep.
“Oh.. you”, said Kikimora without emotion, “you need something, don’t you? Why else would you be here?”
“Sorry if I’m intruding, but is there any chance you can help me out with eating in a fancy restaurant?”
“What? What makes you think I have any experience with proper dining?”, asked Kikimora
“Well, I remember you coming from a family that’s known for strict about everything, so I thought that extended to doing everything in a formal fashion”, explained Hunter
“Sighs Alright, you caught me”, said Kikimora, “I just didn’t want to spend time working on something since I’ve been used to not working for a while”
“Sorry for ruining that, but I really need your help on this”, pleaded Hunter
“Alright, who are you going out with? That plant girl or the human?”, asked Kikimora
“Okay first off, I did have a crush on Willlow, but she said it’s better we stay friends. Second, Luz is already dating Amity”, explained Hunter, “no, I’m dating Emira Blight”
“Oh, we’ll then just say that instead of dumping your life on me”, said Kikimora
“Okay, sorry. So, will you help me out?”, asked Hunter
“Sighs I suppose, wouldn’t be the first train wreck I will deal with”, said Kikimora as she gave in
“Great, where do we start”, asked Hunter
The rest of this is just a montage of Kiki trying to show Hunter proper etiquette with plastic forks. Though Hunter does alright at first, he quickly begins struggling which fork to use for dinner. Despite everything, he and Kiki argued about how everything needs to be perfect.
“Okay, that’s it! I’m done!”, yelled Hunter as he threw the plastic fork on the ground, “now I don’t care about eating formally anymore, I just want this to end!!”
“You’re the one that came to me for help! This is basically on you!”, argued Kiki
“I asked you to show me how to act or eat properly. Like how to talk to people in the restaurant or how not to eat with my hands in a formal place when I’m feeling hungry” argued Hunter, “AND WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE SMALLEST UTENSILS!?”
“Oh you want to know the point? Do you?!”, as Kiki said that, she got one of the plastic forks and stabbed Hunter on the head.
Kikimora then stopped to realize what she had done.
“Oh… would you like at”, said Hunter as he collapsed to the ground
Kikimora immediately rushed him to a nearby healer, saying that they had a run in with a burglar and had no other weapon but a plastic fork to use in them. After a couple of hours, Hunter regained consciousness.
“Ughhhhh… where am I?”, asked Hunter as he opened his eyes
“Kiki… why am I in a healing building?”, asked Hunter
“Well… you see uhhh”, Kiki was about to say something when Hunter cut her off
“You stabbed me in the head with the plastic fork didn’t you?”, sternly asked Hunter
Kikimora froze as she heard that and thought she be in major trouble.
“Please don’t say anything! Please! I’m so sorry! I don’t know what came over me I swear! Please don’t let them put me in the Comformatorium”, quietly pleaded Kikimora as to not let the other healers know about what he did
“Sighs I’m not going to tell them”, said Hunter
“Wait, what?”, asked Kikimora in a surprised tone, “but I thought..”
“Although I’m pissed that you did that, I didn’t end up dying or end up in a critical state”, explained Hunter, “plus, you did this in a heat of rage and you did at least bring me here just in case”
“No, this shouldn’t work, I’m suppose to get in trouble and you are meant to feel happy about me getting trouble”, said Kiki
“Kiki… I’m done thinking certain people don’t deserve a second chance”, said Hunter as he sat still, “Belos did that with me and you, and I don’t want to act like him”
“Wait? So you’re not going to report me?”, asked Kiki
“I’m not going to report you Kiki”, said Hunter
After Hunter said this, Kiki got a bit emotional and teared up a bit. “No one has done this for me before”
“No problem,” said Hunter , “I don’t anyone feeling left out like me”
“Speaking of leaving someone out, MY DATE!”, shouted Hunter as he realized
“Relaxed, I already told the restaurant to tell Emira about your current state”, reassured Kikimora
“What did you tell them?”, asked Hunter
“That you were stabbed by an unknown burglar”, said Kikimora
“Oh no, I don't want her to worry about me,'' said Hunter, “how will she react?”
At that moment, Emira burst through the door.
“Hunter! Are you okay?!”, worryingly asked Emira as she kissed him on his lips.
“Umm.. I’m fine, a bit taken a back just now.. but fine”, reassured Hunter, “.. you look beautiful by the way”
“ Oh, Thanks heheh…. No wait, back to my question.. What happened to you?”, asked Emira
Emira was then turned and was confused to see Kikimora there in the room.
“Wait, Kikimora? What are you doing here?” asked Emira in an interrogating tone
“Ummm”, Kikimora nervously said
“She brought me here!”, said Hunter to Emira
“Wait, really? She helped you?”, asked Emira a bit confused, “I thought things between you weren’t great”
“Well, given everything that I went through, I believe that there are some people who deserve a chance for forgiveness”, explained Hunter, “including her”
Kikimora was surprised by Hunter’s response. Emira then went up to Kikimora. Kikimora thought Emira was going to threaten her. All of a sudden, Emira held out her hand and shook Kikimora’s.
“Thank you for helping him”, said Emira
“Umm.. no problem miss”, nervously said Kikimora
“And you… Sighs I’m just glad you’re safe”, said Emira as she held Hunter in her arms
Kikimora then gave Hunter a thankful look and Hunter smiled in return.
“Hey… when I’m out of here, I’ll treat you to the best first date ever”, said Hunter to Emira as he returned the hug.
Hunter and Emira then shared a look at each other and kissed, while making Kikimora feel awkward in this situation.
“Clears throat Okay, I get I helped you and all, but is it okay if I leave so I can leave.. whatever it is you’re doing?”, asked Kikimora as she felt a bit more uncomfortable around Hunter and Emira kissing
Hunter gave Kiki the thumbs up cause he was busy doing his own thing. Kiki awkwardly left, but wished Hunter luck on his date with Emira, mainly because she said he’ll need it.
“What do you want to do for our first date night next time?”, asked Hunter
“I think I have an idea”, said Emira, “plus, who says we can’t have it right now”(she said in a flirtatious tone)
The scene then cuts to Emira and Hunter enjoying some tasteful bread from the restaurant they originally wanted to go to. They even enjoyed watching funny clips on Emira’s scroll through Penstagram.
Despite being in an injured state, Hunter didn’t care. In the end, he made some amends with his former enemy and got to spend time with his girlfriend.
