Chapter 1: Yellow Zone [1.1]
Chapter Text
I would like to say, Stanley and Narrator know each other. At least a bit. Stanley is aware that he exists, it’s like- nagging in the back of his mind. But he doesn’t have any details about him.
Stanley would say he has had a pretty boring life. But he hasn’t, as he’s been stuck in this loophole. Reset after reset after reset. Well that’s what he calls them, since the whole place resets when he can’t move or dies. And that happens pretty often as someone keeps on killing him. And he knows damn well that person is watching him.
And he was right, it was just through a shade of yellow .
-
The Narrator (as he dubbed himself) worked hard on this- this game? Alternate universe? He doesn’t really know what to call it. But that’s besides the point. What matters is his main character and to get rid of the people who don’t matter. He glances at the monitors that are in a shade of yellow.
Which honestly isn’t difficult. Courtesy of his past self, he made it simple. All it requires is a press of a button.
-
Stanley walks down a hallway, seeing when that one guy will trigger the start of this sick game. His ‘coworkers’ start disappearing, meaning he needs to run. Like- now.
While he’s running, obstacles get shoved out of the doors along the side of the walls. He slides, ducks, anything to not get hit and slow down. He knows the layout thought, knows the obstacles like the back of his hand. The guy controlling this doesn’t like to change things up apparently.
He dodges all of them, as he should. He looks back, that dickhead that’s controlling this better be pissed off.
Well, he was right. The Narrator started to pull a lever.
Stanley opens a door and sees an exit. Huh, that’s different. Usually he doesn’t see an exit past this door- He runs to it, but SOMEONE decides to cause the floor and walls to come apart. And the floor turned into a ramp which made Stanley tumble. He almost falls into the abyss, but recovers quickly and jumps to a pipe. And he then yanks it down with him to the next platform. Why are there random platforms? And why are they floating?? This didn’t happen last time-
While jumping between platforms, he throws the pipe to prop open a pair of walls closing into one another. He then jumps through the gap before the pipe breaks from the pressure.
Shit he has to work out more, he’s running out of breath.
-
Honestly I’m impressed that he’s gotten this far. But still annoyed. Just die for god sake!
He groans, “Now I have more work to do.” He mutters.
He puts up his offense, he can’t let Stanley get to the exit. Why is it even appearing??
-
Stanley hears the movement of metal (most likely pipes) behind him. If he runs fast enough, he’ll outrun it. I mean, he’s been doing this for how many resets? Enough to get his endurance to a inhuman degree.
Until he turned around to see how close the pipes are and how fast they are moving. A pipe instantly pierced his chest. His heart.
Now you would think it’d be painful, well it was but after about a second or two he felt nothing. As the world faded to black.
Act II:
He wakes back up and sighs. At least he has a goal now, he used to only just run around doing nothing. Just to tease the bastard. Well, he got a glimpse of the exit now he just has to get to it.
“How am I going to do this…” he mutters, looking around.
He then notices a camera that he forgot was there. He moves so that theres no suspicion. He slowly grabs a book and quickly throws it at the camera. Now said camera is shattered.
-
What should he have expected?? He always rebels, this time is no different. But it would be nice if he could actually get along with his story. While thinking that he realizes one monitor goes out. Then another. Then more.
What was happening? He looked closer and it was Stanley . He lets out an annoyed sigh. And gets prepared to defend the exit.
-
Stanley runs and the walls part from the floor again. (Bro cmon, couldn’t think of anything better?) But this time he doesn’t tumble (thank god), he gets through the door at the end of the hallway before that could happen. Taking out those cameras was a good idea.
Is what he would say if there was a floor on the other side of the door. He quickly grabs onto the door handle before he falls, and well, he still falls. The handle couldn’t support his weight. He falls onto the platform below and rolls to even out his fall. He quickly recovers and throws the other cup in his hand at the camera from behind him. He noticed it when he rolled.
You know, when he agreed to get this job, he did not expect this to happen. Really! Does he like it? He kind of likes running around, and the thrill of it. Does he die if he falls in the void? Who knows! Actually he does know, in the first 50 runs or so when he wasn’t good at parkour he fell into the void. A lot.
-
Shit shit shit. Usually the Narrator doesn’t cuss but this is an exception. Stanley is getting closer to the exit than he wanted. He slid the sliders for defense on max. First one, left kind of in the middle for the pipes, 2nd one, how many walls would black the exit (set to max), and the 3rd one is for the spaces between the walls. Which was left in the middle. He doesn’t need them too cramped together.
This should work. This has to work. There’s no Narrator with out it’s main character. Without Stanley.
-
Ah shit, theres tons of walls in front of the exit now. Is what he WOULD SAY IF HE WAS GOING THAT WAY!! Suck my dick, Narrator! I’ve been stuck here for too long. Stanley does a sharp turn to run the opposite direction. He runs and leaps from each platform. He jumps over a cabinet and jumps to a table. He preforms an air spin as he gains enough momentum to do so.
God he’s so glad he did gymnastics as a kid. It’s like muscle memory!
He continues to jump platform to platform. He’s going to make it to that window if it’s the last thing he does.
-
HE DIDN’T EXPECT FOR HIM TO COME THIS WAY!! How did he find out? Did he make Stanley too smart? He runs a hand across his face. He fucked up. And he’s screwed. While doing that Stanley went out of his camera’s frame. He quickly turns the cameras to face him. To track him. He also sends pipes to him.
He would feel bad about killing his main character again, but he doesn’t feel pain. He’ll be fine.
-
Stanley dodges the pipes that are after him, it’s almost like he can sense that they’re coming towards him. He’s so close to the window, he can’t die now. And as he’s thinking that he covers his face with his arms and jumps.
He breaks through the yellow stained window.
First thing he notices, is that the Narrator is in there. And he was expecting him to look a bit less…simple. He can’t really talk though. He instantly goes after the Narrator. To try to get out of this mess. To get his coworkers back.
He lands and a pipe quickly goes after him. He jumps into the air to dodge it, when he lands he breaks a piece of the pipe off and runs in a fraction of a second behind the Narrator and suffocates him. The Narrator quickly realizes what’s happening and grabs Stanley and flips him in front of him (old man’s strong af). Which causes Stanley to be a bit out of it. Only thing he can really tell is that the narrator is staring at him like he doesn’t know what to do.
-
He does not know what the fuck to do. He didn’t expect this outcomes! He was careful? Well he did have a suspicious amount of cameras around the window. He supposes that’s a bit of a hint of where he is.
Anyways, what does he do? He’s in a state of shock, he would restart if he was able to move. But he couldn’t. Crap, Stanley is back to being aware.
-
Stanley realizes that theres a stopwatch in the narrator’s head. Restart=manipulation of time=time=clocks=stopwatch. Does the stopwatch let him control this whole..thing? Maybe if he breaks it.
That’s his next mission.
He grabs the stopwatch and notices that it’s connected to the Narrator. He quickly gets up and kicks him in his stomach. Which tears the stopwatch off of him. He steps back to get more space from him, and guess what!
You remember that pipe that he used to suffocate the Narrator? Yeah, he slips on it. And then he falls. Then he cracks the stopwatch. Hey! Gravity did half of his job!! He gets up and rubs his eyes since he hit his head. And then he looks around.
Because of the clock cracking, it’s almost like the color of everything was drained. But at the same time not…like his brain couldn’t process colors. Only blue and yellow. Which is what he saw when he looked at his hands (blue) while he looked over at the Narrator (who was kind of like- outlined yellow. He was also recovering from the blow.) He doesn’t know if it was because he broke the clock or if it’s because he kicked him in the stomach. But the Narrator’s eyes were filled with a yellow that glowed.
Then his eyes glitched and had his normal yellow pupils. Weird. You know, he was also kind of glitching…he thinks.
He quickly stands up and goes to punch the Narrator. Almost like a sucker punch since the Narrator looked behind him before he punched him. But the only difference is that Stanley never said anything.
Stanley must be a good puncher because narrator went FLYING!! His glasses fell off and cracked during the tumble. He was also out of breathe because of that punch. Which makes sense, he just punched something that looked about 130Ibs and they went flying. Stanley glances back at the stopwatch and looks at the Narrator while tightening his grip on the watch.
Narrator seemed to notice what he was thinking of doing. “Don’t you dare!-” he yelled.
Stanley threw the stopwatch against the floor and stepped on it to make sure it’s truly shattered.

Chapter Text
When he broke the watch, the Narrator yelled at him. “You little shit.” Narrator looks like he’s about to punch the ever loving shit out of Stanley. And we’re right, he’s going to.
Narrator collects himself and gets up, Stanley keeps his eyes trained on him. Is he free? Is he done with this? Is his normal life back? He honestly thought that he was going to be stuck there, like that, forever. Since of the loops and stuff.
“My watch…my game..” Narrator looks around, it’s already starting to decay a bit.
It’s starting to decay? Hold on, what? “W-why is it decaying?”
Narrator turns to look Stanley straight in the eyes. “ Why is it decaying? Oh jeez, I wonder! Maybe it’s because you broke my game! ”
“Hey freedom of uh- actions! I can do what I want! Okay? And you can’t keep me trapped in your ‘game’ forever can you? Hold on- is this a dream? Now that I think about it this seems like dream material.” Stanley starts to wonder, it would make sense after all.
Narrator is pissed off and this is not helping. “No this isn’t a dream you twat. Honestly I’m offended you proceed to break this whole thing that I worked so hard on and you think it was your mind that made all of this. That’s not even possible! Someone like you would never be able to come up with something like this!” I mean, really. Stanley? Making this up? Yeah, he’d eat his hat if so. (well he doesn’t have one..but he could code one in.)
They both don’t have time for this, “Okay, neither of us have time for this. Why the hell is this room decaying?”
Narrator puts his hand on his hip (sassy much?) “Perhaps it’s because that watch let me control this world. And! It’s literally a stopwatch. You made no connection whatso ever that it controls time? You broke it, you literally broke time, Stanley. Do you know what happens when time is broken in a place like this? It glitches out. It decays, once enough decays it’ll corrupt. And you know what will happen when this place corrupts?” He pauses and waits for Stanley to answer.
Stanley gives a hesitant shake of his head, “There’s no escape, Stanley. None of us will be able to escape. I won’t be able to reset this world because that watch let me do so. So if you thought that you just made an escape for you, no you didn’t. You literally screwed both of us and oh shit we’re stuck here forever-” Narrator starts to nervously pace around with a hand on his head.
“Well maybe if you didn’t trap me in your sick game-”
“That’s not the point Stanley! That doesn’t matter now! What matters now is that you broke MY GAME! Stanley, we’re going to die. Forever. I don’t even fully know the extent of the decay, the corruption, but I have a feeling we’re going to die. And I have no control over that! I can’t revive us, well you. If I die then it’s game over.”
Stanley starts to walk around and inspect the decay, “Is it game over for you? Or is it a win for me? Does killing you get me out of this game?” He's been stuck here for too long.
“No, it does not.” He crosses his arms, “Be my guest! Go grab that broken pipe that you tried to use a few moments ago! See how that’ll work.” Narrator takes a few steps towards Stanley. Stanley would take some back but he didn’t want to seem like he was intimidated. “Because all that’s going to do is make you stuck in this space. Forever. It’ll eventually all glitch out and decay, and you’ll just be stuck in the pitch black void.”
Narrator goes back to where he was standing before and starts to pace again, “...You really want to get out that badly?”
Stanley gives him a deadpanned look, “Uh, yeah? This game has gotten repetitve and boring. Sure I get to make choices and such, but once you make those choices one too many time, said choices lose their meaning. Also what about my coworkers?! Jim was a really cool guy! You didn't have to go an delete them all!!”
“Personally, I wouldn’t say it was that bad. They aren’t even real!” Narrator realizes what he said and shuts up with a click of his mouth. (a bit funny not gonna lie)
“What do you mean ‘not real’?”
“Well- I uhm, this place is a game? Kind of? I created all of this. This world (with a help from a few) and created this story, you, I’m not really sure where I came from though.”
Theres a long period of tense silence. Stanley stares at him, with panic in his eyes. “Wait- so I’m not real? Are my memories a lie? Did none of them actually happen? No no, that can’t be right?” Stanley’s eyes dart around the room, at the end of his sentence they settle back on the Narrator. He give almost a maniac smile.
“No- well yes- actually I’m not too sure. I may be the creator of this game but theres a few things that I don’t even know. Like is this a game? Alternate universe? A separate world? I wouldn’t be able to answer that even if you forced me to.” Narrator give a nervous chuckle.
Theres a few moments of silence, it’s been a bit too long actually. Narrator looks at Stanley and sees his eyes start to droop. He shouldn’t need to sleep?
Narrator rushes over, and starts snapping his fingers in front of Stanley (what else is he supposed to do?) “Stay awake, we need to figure out how to get out of here-”
“‘m t’red..shit i-i think I m’ght pass out…” Shoot, the decay is further along than he expected.
Stanley passes out, and starts to slowly glitch through the floor. Shit. Narrator is also starting to feel sleepy. “No I can not sleep, not right now…”
His vision starts to go blurry, he then falls over. It’s like all of his energy has been taken away from him. He’s awake for a few more moments out of pure spite, but he still eventually passes out.
Notes:
I think after blank decay, I'm going to still make chapters. If sad-ist makes another animation, I drive the chapters to fit the animation. (or I'll edit the fanfic so a few events never happened) we'll see!!
If i do do that then you guys are gonna get very inconsistant updates <3 (im sorry)
Chapter 3: Blank Decay [1.3]
Summary:
Pretty much Stanley and the Narrator stuck in the wasteland. They also have to sort out some differences (i think i used that term right)

Chapter Text
-A few days later-
Shoot, he can’t be found. Not now. Stanley thinks to himself as he hides from a monster that he named decay. Once he hears the decay leave, he runs as quietly as he can and he stumbles upon a structure that’s still standing. As he does that the Narrator looks through pairs of glasses. None of them were the same ones as his last ones. Who knew that Stanley could’ve made such a huge change. Of course he did! He broke the stopwatch-
He hears something behind him. He quickly grabs a nearby pipe and turns around. Of course.
It’s Stanley. And he gives an awkward wave.
He lets out a sigh, “Well look who's back.” He says with annoyance.
“Sorry about that, I didn’t know that breaking the watch would do…this” Stanley rubs his neck. “I just didn’t want to be in this game anymore!” He starts to grow annoyed.
“Oh not this again.” He pinches his nose bridge, “Who knew having a main character such as this one would be so difficult.”
Little do they know, one of those decays hears them and grows closer.
“Well, maybe I don’t want to be your main character! I also have a name, it’s Stanley!”
“You aren’t a real person, so why should I treat you as one-“
Stanley grabs the Narrator by the collar and almost punches him. Until a yellow light shines on them. They both look up sees it’s one of the decays (should get a better name for it). Stanley quickly drags the Narrator away while still keeping a tight grip on his collar. Perhaps he dragged him too fast since the Narrator fell from the sudden change in direction.
Stanley helps him get up and they run. As they run the decay gets on ground level and starts to shoot. It grazes Stanley and causes him to fall. The graze was deep. Stanley starts to glitch out. And the decay catches up. He’s going to die, he really is going to die. He grabs the pipe that the Narrator used to protect himself and tries to do the same. But it doesn’t work and the decay charges to shoot. Until the Narrator (thank god) hits the decay to focus on him.
The Narrator then realizes what he did and starts running. With the decay running after him. To be honest, Narrator didn’t really notice what he was doing until he did it. It was inconceivable that he just risked his life for someone who assaulted him and was about to again. But Stanley did save him…
He can’t be thinking about that right now. What he has to focus on is that this bloody decay just pinned him to the floor. The decay was about to shoot at him until Narrator (out of panic) put his hand on the shooter of the decay. Thinking that it would stop it. And to some extent, it did. But his hand’s skin burnt off, only revealing a pitch black hand with yellow glowing lines.
His hand absorbed the energy. That’ll be useful knowledge in the future.
His eyes glowed and the decay disappeared, most likely dead. He breaths out in what seemed to be shock. As Narrator looks at his hand to reveal a very familiar looking gear. Shit, Stanley!! He quickly gets up to assist Stanley. Stanley is prompt up against the wall, holding his side. There’s blood. The sight of it sort of rubs the Narrator in the wrong direction. Usually he’s fine with it…he doesn’t know why not now.
He grabs some alcohol from Stanley’s bag and pours it over the wound. He then banages him, and really looks at him. He doesn’t want Stanley to die.
Wait what- huh? But his game is all about Stanley dying. As he’s thinking this, he sits next to Stanley without saying anything. Is because he has no control over it? Because he can’t restart it when he does die? No no no- he can’t grow attach to him. It hasn’t even been a week since he broke his game! He rubs a hand down his face. He should apologize. He did after all say that Stanley isn’t real- which depending on who you ask, isn’t true.
“Hey, Stanley. I’m sorry about…the outburst.” He looks over to Stanley but Stanley doesn’t meet his eyes. “It’s fine..” He mutters, “I was being sort of a dick anyways.”
He isn’t good with emotions. Should he stop now? Should he tell Stanley he didn’t mean it? What does he do, he just sighs. “Listen I- um that comment about me not needing to treat you like a real person. That was wrong of me to say and I apologize. To be honest I’m not sure if any of this is real. I don’t even know if I’m real. For god sake you might be real! You most likely aren’t, but what if you are! I don’t even know- I’m starting to rant now aren’t I? I’ll- I’ll shut up now…” Great work Narrator.
This time Stanley meets his eye. There something akin to- he doesn’t know, pity? He doesn’t want his pity, Narrator looks away.
This time Stanley speaks, “You’re really good at comforting people aren’t you.” He gives a smirk.
“Oh bloody hell, I try to be nice and this is what I get?!-” They bicker for a little while longer.
-An hour later-
They walk in silence, Narrator occasionally looking at Stanley with guilt in his eyes. Stanley looks around, not knowing about the lurking eyes around him. And he admires the scene. Although the game is very very corrupted, it still emits a nice scene. With the purples and blues, with broken and glitching buildings.
Until a sign catches his eye. “EXIT” it read with a door underneath it. They found it! They really did find it!! “Narrator, look!” he points to the direction of the door. Narrator just gives an amused smile. He then starts to descend to the level of the door, he didn’t expect it to be so steep so he would’ve fallen. If the Narrator didn’t grab onto his arm.
“Careful now-” Stanley readjusts himself to slide down without falling, Narrator leans forward to check that he didn’t hurt himself. Stanley eagerly runs towards the door, it doesn’t budge much. So he props his foot up, the door budges more and more. Narrator watches with a hint of worry, what if it doesn’t open-
Until he feels an unwanted presence. He turns around and notices two of the decays, “ Stanley!! Move out of the way!!-” He yells panically. Narrator ditches the backpack and runs towards Stanley to move him out of the decay’s shooting range-
Too late.
The decay shoots at them and they go tumbling, Narrator’s arm get chopped off but it’s not like he can feel it. He can’t feel pain. They come to a stop when they hit a wall. Narrator opens his eyes and sees Stanley, he’s looking at him hand. His hand that’s covered in blood. There’s a horrible slash in his stomach that’s deep. Too deep.
I-I don’t- I can’t die now- not now- the door is so close. No no non onononono not now please. His mind runs rampant. The decay shoots again and Narrator quickly and efficiently moves them out of the way. The movement was inhuman.
Narrator looks down at Stanley, he face painted with a painful amount of worry. Stanley looks up at him with pleading expression. “I don’t want to die- Narrator I don’t want to die.” He pleads. “You won’t- we’re so close to the exit, aren’t we?” Narrator proceeds to put pressure on the wound. Stanley’s figure is glitching out too much. It’s flickering back to now and when he was in his prime, the start of the round, the start of the reset.
He can’t let him die, he has no control over it. If he has no control over it who know what the hell might happen. He thinks. In a blink of an eye, Stanley’s eyes go gray. Signifying that theres no life in them. His grip on the Narrator’s jacket sleeve lossens and his hand is now on the floor. Fuck.
He looks to his left, It’s all their fault.
The Narrator runs towards the group of decays. While doing so he summons a pipe (although this space is very corrupt, he still has some minor control over it). He throws it which takes out one of the decay, but right as he does so he gets shot. And his leg gets chopped clean off. He proceeds to bleed yellow, why does he bleed yellow? He looses his balance and collapses, dizzy with the fact that he just feel and lost his leg (and also the fact that he still doesn’t have an arm), a decay looks down on him. Painting his face in a yellow glow. Narrator becomes stable again and out of reflexes, pushes the decay onto it’s back using his hand. And the decay shoots.
The energy gets boosted tenfold through out that Narrator’s body, causing his eyes to glow a painfully bright yellow. Narrator crushes the head of the decay, and lets the energy out of his body. The energy gets transformed into lightning that’s still connected to the Narrator. Which kills all the decay around it, leaving the gears that was held in their body floating.
Narrator gets up, almost falling since he has to balance only using one foot. He looks over and Stanley’s lifeless body, he knows what he has to do. But it pains him to do so. They were so close to the exit, why did he let Stanley get so close to the exit in the first place? It’s not like he wanted to let Stanley escape, right?
He shakes his head and looks at the gear in his hand with guilt. He closes his eyes and uses the gears to repair the clock (not a stopwatch this time). Then he summons a reset.
Stanley opens his eyes and blinks a few times to get used to the bright lights. Where is he?...No, no it can’t be. He escaped right? Right? He thinks for a few moments, No…no I died. I got killed by a decay. He can’t help but let his eyes water. He starts to cry, he was so close, so close to the exit. He hears a door open behind him, he turns and is met face to face with a very familiar being.
The Narrator.

Chapter 4: Blue Lies
Summary:
Well! Turns out everything that happened in Blank Decay wasn't worth it,
And Stanley is more than pissed off.
Notes:

Chapter Text
Stanley stays still. What else can he do? So much just happened and he needs to process this. He needs to process that he almost permanently died. But soon the shock turns into anger. He gets up from his desk he hasn’t touched in years and turns around. He’s feeling a lot of things right now, anger, disappointment, pain from the previous ‘reset’, just— a lot of things. His vision is a little jacked up because of the tears that have already been forgotten.
As he walks over, the Narrator just watches. He just watches and stares, and that pisses Stanley off more than ever. He just stares with this look of- of pity! Stanley pins him to the wall and grabs him harshly by the collar.
“You- you bitch! I died and I thought I honestly escaped! Look where I am now.” Stanley yells, he throws the Narrator to the side, but not enough for him to need to regain his balance. Narrator starts to cough from the sudden lack of air. That’s probably going to leave a mark for a little while. The thought makes him grin, but he quickly shuts it down. Stanley walks away, and he gained something. He gained the stopwatch, and he’s done playing this stupid game that the Narrator has forced him into.
He walks down the halls, this time not being hyper aware of everything, this time not needing to expect anything to burst through the walls or anything alike. He thinks- he thinks it’s his first time being this relaxed in this hallway. Taking that into note, Stanley looks at the windows, but all they show is his reflection. He can’t see anything, huh. Well, for that being his first time looking through the windows it was pretty anticlimactic.
But back to the point! He’s pissed off and determined. Too determined to realized he’s being watched by something. As his reflection turns to look at him, with such dull colors and fully red eyes.
He walks until he’s greeted with two doors. He bursts through them. This is the room where objects got shoved in front of him a few times before he first met the Narrator. He glances at the stopwatch, what can this thing even do? How does it work? He wonders, but he doesn’t think he should try that out…at least yet. We don’t want another corrupt world again, do we?
He glances at the cameras, it’s weird looking at them and knowing theres nobody behind them. Nobody watching his every movement, nothing following him. It feels…reliving but concerning at the same time.
Every step he takes through these halls, another death is remembered. A bullet to the head, it went right through. Blood went everywhere, one of the more early resets. He was scarred for the next resets that came after. The next one was his arm getting torn off, it was jagged, not clean, which made the pain unbearable. That one was more recent, he was panicking. The blood pooling on the ground, both from his open wound and his discarded arm. The bone that was sticking out, him pathetically try to make a tourniquet by ripping his shirt as he cried from the pain and the panic.
Then he felt a reset coming in. The last one he remembered was getting slashed across the chest, that one was quick, painful but quick. He doesn’t remember much about it. He reached the end of the hallway and put his hand on the handle. He hesitates for a split second and takes a deep breath. He has to do it, and opens the door.
Everything disappears, swept from his feet as one would say. But- literally
He falls, as he falls he notices the exit. It’s floating along with 2 walls that aren’t connected to anything. As last time, it is his goal to reach there. He hits the ground 3 times (ouch). Actually- it didn’t really hurt, all it did was make his head spin a bit. He recovers, only to look up and see the exit door get…corrupted? That’s the only way he can describe it. It started to crawl with fast paced cracks and a magenta hue radiating from the door. The cracks stretch to the end of the hallway, where the Narrator is. And then, everything breaks.
The Narrators face- he never wants to see it. It’s the same face he made when Stanley died, but Stanley doesn’t know that. It was a look of terror, concern for both his and Stanley’s safety, he’s- he’s scared. Then he disappears.
“Narrator!” Stanley yells desperately, and reaches towards him. Although being hundreds of feet apart from one another. But he’s easily distracted by the fact that the platform he’s on is cracking, until it breaks and he suddenly falls into an abyss. He screams.
There’s strips of camera film, it’s big enough that he can walk on it, at least it seems like it. He automatically rights himself up, and he’s almost suspended in the air, but still falling. In front of him is a strip of camera film that’s playing out in front of him. He sees- himself? But gray with blood red eyes, and he’s wearing the same stuff he wore in the corrupted area. Is this an embodiment of his death?
Suddenly the look-a-like curls his hands around Stanley’s face, almost like the figure wants to drag him into the camera film with him. It doesn’t touch him though. Stanley’s eyes widen, then the figure goes away. And he starts to fall.
And fall…
And fall.
He lands a camera tape strip, and the exit is in sight. He runs towards it, but the tape has almost a mind of its own, as it launches him in the air. But he’s used to it, and recovers quickly. He uses the fact that it’s yanking him around to his advantage, he jumps from tape to tape, getting closer to the exit.
He grabs onto the handle, he takes one last look behind him. Since he’s leaving the only place he remembers and sees the abyss that makes him anxious, he sees the camera film, but then he notices the Narrator’s glasses. Did he kill him? That’s what he wanted, isn’t it? Why does he feel bad about it-
He sighs, he just wants to go home. Or where ever he’ll go, he doesn’t really know if he really is a puppet or not. Narrator said so-
He opens the door before he spirals more. And he wakes up in a bed.
His room. His room he barely remembers. The window is open and wind is blowing in.
He
is
real.
