Wilbur walked towards the house, the rain pouring down onto him, seeping through his shirt. He stood in front of the door and raised his hand. He resisted the urge to turn away.
The door opened, he was greeted by the only face he ever wanted to see again. Phil stared, completely and utterly silent. Wilbur was regretting it already.
“Wilbur?” says Phil, voice tainted with exhaustion.
Wilbur took a breath.
“I didn’t have anywhere else to go.”
There was a flash of shock, maybe, before his expression softened. Phil let him in. Wilbur didn’t want to leave ever again.
