“Your shoulder’s boney.”
His head hit your shoulder like a rock that fell from the sky, snuggling in close as the autumn breeze surrounded the two of you.
He complained about the state of your arm, but he cuddled close all the same as the tendrils of exhaustion slowly pulled him into a slumber.
“Are you comfortable? The tree trunk can’t be that soft.”
It wasn’t. Honestly, it hurt. But he was comfortable and looked like he didn’t have the energy to move, so you nodded your head, letting it rest on the tree behind you as the two of you closed your eyes.
“Hey, [Y/N]..?”
You hummed in acknowledgment, not raising your head.
His silence stretches before you feel a warm blow of air on your neck as he moves your arm around him.
“..Nevermind.”
He closes his eyes once more, pretending to sleep until he hears your breathing even out, signalling that you’ve passed out yourself. Once he’s sure you’re out, he finally allows slumber to take him, a soft smile adorning his face as he allows himself to sleep in the comfort of your arms.
