STILL WITH YOU ~
Song Of Choice : Still With You
The rhythmless raindrops hit the foggy window pane, Alan has been staring at it for last forty minutes now. He sucks in a breath before letting out a sigh. A muffled song plays in the fm. The clinking of utensils and humming reminds him of the another presence in his lifeless apartment.
Alan looks at the clock, 11am on a sunday. The day gloomy, sun hidden far behind cloudy blanket.
Alan likes rain, the gloomy weather. As if the nature had enough pretending everything's alright. As if nature gave up trying to mask her sorrows with radiance. Alan sighs again. He turns around, the opened laptop screen showing the amount of his pending responsibilities. He stares at the glowing screen.
He can't remember how long he's sitting there. Against his better judgement he gets up, shutting down the laptop, slowly making his way towards the kitchen.
Kaipa loved rain. He loved the laziness it brought. Rain meant cuddle under blanket, warm coffee and freshly made cookies, with his lover.
He lays the cookie dough on baking tray when Alan hesitantly stood at the entrance.
He takes a look at his boyfriend who looks dazed, a hint of unidentified sorrow lacing his eyes.
"Done working?" He asks instead. Alan shakes head negatively.
Kaipa doesn't say anything, instead he puts the baking tray inside oven.
"Is there anything I can help with.." Alan almost begged but Kaipa was quick to brush him off, "I'll call you if I need help". But instead of going back go work, Alan takes few steps and stands behind Kaipa. Slowly resting his chin on Kai's shoulder.
Moving around as his boyfriend warms up the coffee.
"What's up big guy?" Kaipa laughs, it's a very pleasant sound if you ask Alan. He steps closer, wrapping his hands around Kaipa's waist.
Hooking his chin on Kaipa's shoulder more firmly, "everything's fine" he softly mumbles.
Needless to say, Kaipa had to move around with the oversized koala latching onto his back. He laughs again at the sudden show of affection.
"Is there something bothering you ,baby?" Kaipa feels his own cheeks heating up at the pet name he just used but Alan hugs him tighter than replying.
He chuckles before taking the baking tray out and setting it aside, careful not to burn himself or the koala Like guy who decided he will cling onto Kaipa as long as possible.
Kaipa turns around, back pressed against the kitchen counter, lookinh up at his boyfriend, his lip caught between teeth. Kaipa raises a finger to free the poor lip, "hey, what's up?" He asks
The elder shakes his head, abruptly lifting Kaipa and setting him on the very kitchen counter, making him gasp. Then proceeding to bear hug him.
Kaipa laughs, a little surprised but he doesn't say anything. He threads his fingers through Alan's soft hair. Taking a whiff of the usual shampoo. His hair lot longer than the first time they met, instead of his marquee trimmed hair, Alan is sporting unruly curls, that adds the perfect amount of softness to his grumpiness.
How did Kaipa get so lucky, he wonders.
"Would you let me go darling?" He asks, gently massaging Alan's scalp, petting his hair occassionally.
"Just a little longer..." Kaipa feels his chest tighten at the faint waver in his favourite voice. "The cookies will be cold... Give me a moment and let's shift to the couch, shall we? I'll bring coffee and cookies and we can cuddle all you want. How that sounds?" He softly rubs the back of the humongous koala(lol Kaipa). "Don't wanna~" the elder whines quitely, "lemme carry you" he mumbles instead.
"What?Love, no! You can't carry me around! What if i spill the drinks, you'll burn yourself!" Kaipa panics, "I'll bonk you with this very tray!" Alan laughs at his adorable little threats,
"and... And NO cuddles afterwards!" Kaipa hmphs. tiny pout blooming on his pink lips, which Alan couldn't help but cover with his own, pecking and tugging the softness with his teeth.
"Ow!" Kaipa slaps Alan on shoulder, "stop biting me! You oversized puppy! Couch! Now!" He scolds.
"Do I have to?"
It was Alan pouting this time and boy, Kaipa was a weak weak guy. "Please wait for me on the couch?" He tries and Alan reluctantly agrees. Withdrawing from the hug.
Immediately Kaipa misses the attention seeking warmth.
'cookies' he reminded himself.
Soon, he goes over to the couch, setting the tray containing two cups of coffees and a bowl full of freshly baked cookies. He sits down and opens his arms, towards a sulking Alan, "Come here" he urges and the six foot mess of limbs scrambles to him, overeager, But Kaipa isn't complaining.
Alan almost climbs on Kaipa's lap, hugging his waist and shoving his face in his boyfriend's chest. Kaipa just pulls him closer, wrapping his hands protectively around the elder guy.
Alan has always been the one to shower him with affection, almost never being on the recieving end. Kaipa loves being spoiled by the man he loves but whatever happened today, that made him so clingy, and the fact that instead of hiding his feelings like any other time, he let himself be so demanding, it makes Kaipa feel like, this could be one of the most unsubtle show of trust a man can display.
He softly pets Alan's hair once again. He might be addicted to the man, everything about him.
He stops his ministration just to pick up the TV remote and instantly Regrets when Alan pulls back from the hug, pouting, "Pay attention to me!" He whines. Looking like an angry cupcake.
"No TV?" Kaipa quirks an eyebrow.
"No.." Alan is back at clinging to him, "instead... You were humming a song in kitchen"
Kaipa picks up the muffled mumble, "which one?" He asks, confused.
"The one they were playing at radio..." The words quite against Kaipa's chest.
"Oh, that one?"
"Mhmmm" Alan hums, "what song is it?"
Kaipa couldn't refuse the urge of kissing Alan's hair, "still with you, should I hum for you?"
"Yes, please... " A soft munchin follows. Kaipa looks in confusion,"what are you doing?"
"Stealing cookies"
"are you stealing the cookies that are in fact meant for you?" Kaipa laughs in disbelief.
A nod follows and Kaipa gives up, shaking his head and picking up his coffee, careful not to spill and sips while Alan sprawls overs his half lying figure.
Eventually Kaipa mindlessly starts humming the song. Alan occasionally joining, muffled low pitched Hums reverberate on his chest. Eventually he feels Alan's figure relaxing in his hold.
It makes him feel a stupid pang in his heart, he's just so happy having this man in his life, even when he seemingly has so many flaws but he's so much better than the Perfect human concept. He is just so human...
And an excellent one at that, it hurts, honestly, it hurts so much.
He loves Alan so much, and the love he feels from Alan's efforts, both hurts, but it hurts so good. He hugs the laxed figure tighter.
Alan feels himself going laxed, the soft melodious humming from Kaipa weaving a secure mesh of safety and comfort around him.
'Is this what love should feel like?' Alan thinks to himself before his eyes droop with drowsiness. He let's himself relax for a while.
Kaipa slowly stops his humming when Alan's breathe evens out. His back rising a falling steadily. He sighs, threading his fingers through his boyfriend's hair, bending to press a chaste kiss on top of his head. Moving gently so he doesn't wake up the sleeping beauty.
As soon as he gets comfortable, he pulls the banket on both of them, keeping his hold on Alan. Admiring the man in his arms, Kaipa feels himself closing his eyes, sleep embracing him as he listens to Alan's steady breaths.
