This chapter is a bit shorter than I wanted it to be but I couldn't think of how to make it longer, this should be updated a bit more regularly.

Chapter Text

It was one of the many days that Ponk had spent on the ship. Or more the row boat that they had taken from the docks to get this far. She was looking at her map, following the coast to the town that was about two from her own. Ponk was the doctor of their old town, having been raised there and now setting off. Ponk had been when younger more than happy to stay where she was and just work on her parents orchard. The orchard was filled for a good bit of ground with lemon trees, Ponk's parents house is also on the lot closer to the gate with their barn! She did miss home but Ponk wanted to go on. They'd visit maybe. Depending on where ever Ponk ended up, she wasn't really sure where she was going, other than that she was going somewhere.

Ponk knew she was just going in a direct trying and failing to follow the map that had been giving to her by her friend. As much as Puffy had said that she should wait for her to be back, since Puffy had left the village awhile ago to become a pirate and had left with one of the ships that normally docked at the village. Now it would have been easier if she had waited but Ponk was never the patient one and so she had left. So Ponk was for the most part hoping that the row boat would get her to an island and won't end up ship wrecked but for now Ponk was at drift hoping to stumble apon somewhere, since they had well slept and such, due to that from the lack of anchor or anything she had drifted far and was surely lost at sea.

So she just planned to let fate lead her to where every they would take her since well Ponk didn’t seem to have much choice. Since her map was for the most part useless. Ponk just needed something to do to pass the time really.

Soon the row boat began to pass something, which was on the map! Kinda, it looked to be a certain rock formation, the giant's fist. Ponk smiled as she realised they knew how to get somewhere but she did know it was late. If they slept she realised that Ponk would be lost again, so they decieded to keep there boat in distance. Pausing her rowing she looked around as soon something far in the distance caught her eye. A bright light, would that be a light house? She knew what one was though she also knew that there wasn't one at the village but if there was one– that meant people. That meant people!

Ponk quickly tried to row as fast as she could towards the light house. It took a bit but as she thought about it she hadn't seen an island on the map this way. Maybe she'd discover and island– that would be quite cool. She smiled, slowly she began to see an island. Her eyes narrowed a bit as she was confused, there didn't seem to be any people...or buildings. She glanced fully at the map, definitely not on the map so it was basically a mystery island. That was pretty cool, Ponk guessed.

While gathering her things into her bag and being about to get out soon Ponk paused as a massive shadow ended up casted over the row boat. Ponk's eyes went wide as she looked up and saw eyes.
Or more a head– but its eyes, bright emerald eyes stared down at Ponk. She couldn't move, fear had struck her still. She could feel her hands trembling as the head stares at her, watching her.

Eyes studying the thing infront of her, she can tell that the being has dark shiny ravenette hair but having been in water that makes sense. Skin smooth gold. Ponk's brows furrowed as she raised one of her hands from the bag that was now on her shoulder. "Hello?"

The creature's expression didn't change, still blank with a slight frown. Ponk sqweaked jumping slightly as a hand raised from the water watching as the being moved hair from their face. Ponk hummed looking at the other with curiousity and uncertainty. "Can you speak?" She asked, but there was no answer.
The other was massive, literally she could tell her own hand wouldn't even be near the size of the giant's eyes. The giant watched as Ponk decied to be brave and slowly moved to tap the other.

It didn't react much other than eyes following and being nudged slightly when Ponk tapped the other's cheek. Before it snickered, a human sounding one before Ponk felt the boat tipping slowly yet quickly at the same time– to quick before she was in the water though she felt her bag get grabbed off her before it could follow her into the water. She flailed as she splashed into the water, boat was now upside down as Ponk moved to towards the shore, climbing onto it so to not to drown. Though scowling Ponk looked at the creature, who had a beaming smile and was snickering still. It's ears falling as the giant fell into a booming laugh.

Now being able to get a better look at the head of thr figure she can see that the ravenette has long hair, also that there was seaweed and other water plants stuck to the dripping wet creature. She frowned moving to stand and found that her bag had been tossed onto the beach, somethings falling out of it. Ponk grumbled as she put the items away, watching as the giant moved the boat back up and got the water out, before pushing it up onto shore. Still giggling the creature pushed from the shore slightly, resting from chest up on the shore. Arms crossed under its head, head on fists while elbows where dug into the sand, a sharp happy grin was on the giant's face, teeth as sharp as a shark's.

"What? Find that funny?" Ponk snapped at the giant, watching as it looked back to her a brow raised before it nodded. "Well thats good to know that you're a prankster." She grumbled as the giant snickered before chirping or maybe it was a sing-songy tounge? Not english but still Ponk couldn't understand it.

Ponk looked at the giant confused as it chirped again, seeming to be repeating itself. "I don't understand you‐ do you even know what I'm saying?" She said, sighing at the last bit as she pulled her bag up again using her free hand to rub at her eyes.

"I speak overworld. Not best but do." The giant said, tounge obviously not taking well to it. Overworld? Maybe that was just whatever they called english.

"Oh..that's good. Uhh do you know if anyone else stay on this island?" Ponk asked, the giant- she really needed to get their actually name. She didn’t want to keep calling the other giant or creature.

"No. Only me." The ravenette said, blunt. Or maybe that was from the creature struggling to speak english but how was there a lighthouse if there wasn't any people? Had the giant built it?

"What's your name? I'm Ponk. Ponk Dropsby." Ponk said as the creatures brow furrowed, its look of confusion clearing before it answered.

"Foolish." The giant- Foolish answered. That was a weird name to be fair truly, Foolish's ears lifted back up flicking slightly as she nodded. Well she had answers at least, what did she do now? Other than maybe look around the island, she did want to find that light house.

What was she going to do? Well probably stock up, she didn't know where she'd go from there but Ponk decied it would be best to think about it after she has slept. Espically since she was walking towards where she could see the light house's light. Foolish didn't seem to follow though he did seem to go back into the water. Not super surprising, Ponk didn’t actually know if Foolish had legs- having only seen Foolish from the chest up.

But that was an issue for later Ponk, as exhaustion from staying up so not to get lost set in. Soon reaching the light house, it looked old. She was puzzled to how the light was even working, having been told no one was there other than Foolish so who turned it on and off? Was it magic? Ponk had heard of magic though her village never had anything like it, always was a somewhat boring place other than maybe hybrids but they never were able to do magic. Normally the hybrids around the village was farm animals or cats and dogs, sometimes birds. Mod hybrids were rare and if they had magic, Ponk never saw it.

Pushing the door to the light house it took a stubborn second to actual open it. Definitely old from how the door nearly crumpled in on itself. Ponk winced as she walked in seeing that the place was not only covered in dust but also was everywhere, like the people living there had rushed out. Abandoned. That was the word that popped into her mind as she moved towards the stairs, careful as they creaked under the pressure but soon she reached the middle floor. Which lead to a single bedroom, just as messy as the rest of it. She moved to one of the beds, which weren't broken but didn't seem great to sleep on but it was all she had so.

Ponk did want to look around a bit more before sleeping but left the bag on the bed. As much as she was being causious, not wanting the place to collapse on her. She did move to look through the cabinets though soon she did find something, a diary but it was locked. Putting it back Ponk continued to look, finding nothing more other than very out of date cans or a few just as dusty spare blankets. Plus a bathroom, though it was some what small.

She did take the blankets and dusted them before moving back to the bed, moving the bag to the side as she moved and checked the bed. There wasn't any bugs not that Ponk could tell and so moved to curl up under a blanket, ready to sleep. Ponk's mind wandered to memories about their village, the orchard, the small things they had heard or seen of the world. Since visitors came and went so often in her village she and the other kids when younger often listened to the stories.

Maybe she could tell Foolish. As much as she did want to leave she was a bit sick of the sea, being out for so long has really drained her energy when it comes to the sea. Plus she didn't know how to get to the next village since this island wasn't even on the map. Ponk didn't know where she was meant to go really, she could stay, she could stay and talk with Foolish. Relax on the island for awhile, yeah that sounded like a plan.

Chapter 2

Summary:

Ponk explores more of the island and gets to talk more to Foolish

Notes:

I do think to warn that this has no beta reader! I am a lone writer and I know I have bad grammer, as much as that works well with Foolish and the small idea of bad social skills

Chapter Text

Ponk woke up, groggy as she winced as the sun beamed down onto her face. Face scrunching up as she sat up covering her eyes, moving to fix her mask when she realised it had fallen down. Ponk knew she had packed a brush and such for her hair. Deciding it was time to start her routine but then she wasn't sure if the place even had running water.

Sighing she stood and moved towards the bathroom, bag being brought with. Ponk hadn't even realised there was a mirror in the bathroom, reaching her hand up she wiped at it, blowing on it a bit as the dust was unsettled and moved so she could see again in the mirror. The mirror was still in good condition, though very dirty. Moving to the sink tap she pushed it and Ponk heard the creaking of the pipes and then there was water. Which meant piping. That meant people had to have been there but Foolish said it was only him? Had they left? Ponk had questions but she knew she could ask them later if she found Foolish.

This was new and she had to figure it out, though where was she meant to get food? As much as she had supplies, that didn't mean she needed to use them plus once she left it meant she needed more. They decided that the water was probably clean enough and began to start a morning routine. Ponk got ready for the day making sure her mask was secure and hiding the lower half of her face, alongside fixing up her bag before she left the light house.

Taking note that the light house's light is off, she hadn't turned it off. Had Foolish done so? But then how would he, the giant that he is fit into the building? So that was off the table, especially when it comes to turning it on as well. So magic or a timer, Ponk didn’t need to figure it out but this island was a mystery! With so many questions and Ponk was nothing if not curious.

She knew it was one massive island, it wasn't split up so Ponk decided to go towards the right side of the island. Moving first towards the water hoping to see Foolish, the water was so calm at least, the sand was warm though, warm enough that she could feel it through her shoes. Humming a small tune that her mother normally sang to her when she was very young. Though it had stuck with her. Soon hearing water sloshing and before Ponk could even turn around she ended up getting covered in water– a large wave of it soaked Ponk head to toe.

"You.. why would you do that!" Ponk yelled, as her fists balled up glaring up at the giant.

"Cause it's fun. You're reactions make it funnier!" Foolish said, smile wide.

Ponk was fuming as she took a breath and counted to ten quickly, she had dealt with screaming children- as much as she didn't like to, maybe this was similar at least in the way of making her blood boil. "Well don't. I don't find it funny okay?" Ponk stated firmly

Foolish blinking brows furrowing as the giant shrugged "Fineeee. You're no fun." He grunted as he shifted rest against the sand "Soooo.. what are you doing?" Foolish added as Ponk tried to shake off some water.

"Exploring, I was planning on looking at the right side of the island. Maybe explore the left tomorrow." Ponk said as she watched as Foolish's brows furrow and face fell into a frown.

"No. The left's off limits. No people!" Foolish said, voice sharp and near growling, Ponk gave a cautious nod as Foolish lightened up again "good!" The giant said beaming as the two began to walk- or more Ponk was walking while Foolish swam alongside her in the water. After a while though he did climb out, which confirmed to Ponk that Foolish did actually have legs.

The place had a nicely diverse amount of things growing on the trees, coconuts, mangos and some other tropical fruits. Which was quite nice and would be good for not eating the same thing over and over. Ponk also learned from Foolish that the fish population was also quite diverse. Though Foolish said they'd begun to flourish a while ago, that some stingrays had moved in moons ago and had taken to the reefs.

The island was quite often, though there were a lot of trees, all palms and some shrubs. The plant live was probably flourishing as good as the fish were though it wasn't long before the two had reached something new, something different. It was a bit more flattened opening. That wasn't what Ponk took note of, the group seemed disturbed, slightly dug up and or maybe flattened again.

But still she decided not to question it. Ponk looked over to Foolish, the giant was weaving the best he could through the trees, due to how tall he was. Studying the other she began to take notes of the other features, as much as the man or a maybe man was made of pure gold there what seemed to be tattoos or more carvings around the giant's body, he also had a tail. A massive- it was probably about three tree lengths. A shark tail too, it also had seaweed and such wrapped and such stuck around it. Though other than that it seemed fine, unblemished and unscarred.

The taller one really did seem perfect. Though the man definitely had secrets. Ponk really did want to know about those secrets but now was not that time. Being pulled from her thoughts as Foolish spoke up. "Wanna see a cool thing?"

Ponk looked up, thinking it over before answering "Alright, sure. I do." She said as the other looked gleeful and quickly grabbed Ponk's hand or more Ponk's whole arm. The giant's hand was really big compared to her but that made sense really- she tried to keep pace as much as she was being dragged forward. Maybe she would end up teaching the other some manners or social skills but she wasn’t sure he could even be blamed for it, the other had been the only one who lived on the island for however long, what social skills could he have? With no way to learn from others and such.

And she really didn't want to end up being soaked more or being dragged and more as Ponk wasn't sure what Foolish knew for boundaries. It took a few minutes of what Ponk was sure would end up as an achy limb, later they soon reached where Foolish had been dragging them. The giant moved to the side so Ponk could actually see what she was meant to be looking at.

It was a closed off area, mountains around the side. It was circled in and a reef. A coral reef that had some fishes and stingrays, Foolish looked like a prideful lion that was showing off its kill. Maybe a shark was more fitting but it was a beautiful sight. Noticing that the beach seemed colder, like silky smoothed stone. Plus there was an amazing shady around the circled in reef. "Its beautiful." Ponk said as she was a bit speechless at the sight.

"I know! I love it." Foolish beamed, prideful showed in that man's tone really made Ponk smile. It was oddly in dearing to see the other so happy, as much as Ponk had known the other for such little time it had felt like she had known him for longer.

"Have you ever left this island?" Ponk asked as she watched as Foolish moved to sit legs submerged in the water.

"Nope! Never ever." Foolish replied head turning so he could look to Ponk who quickly moved to sit next to Foolish though she made sure to keep her legs from the water.

"Well do you want to hear some stories?" Ponk moved to look through her bag making sure she still had everything. Foolish's eyes light up even more if that was possible, brighter than the stars if she was honest but all in all the giant nodded enthusiastically.

Ponk had alot of stories, of their village, ones they had read or stories he had heard from others. Decieding to share some tales from her childhood. "I grew up on an orchard, I don't know if you know what that is." Ponk asked as Foolish shook his head with a shrug before gesturing for the other to continue. "I assumed right. An orchard is a large place where an owner grows trees. Normally fruit trees, my parents grew lemons." She continued.

"I normally helped around, dropped off deliveries or ram around collecting the lemons. Stuff like that, have you ever had a lemon?" She got a quick nope, which made sense. Since there wasn't any lemons on the island from what she had seen. But it didn't matter to much, Ponk just continued on. Talking about the people she knew in the town, her family, the orchard and Foolish seemed enamored. Like it was the most interesting thing he had heard in years.

Ponk had started a new story, one that even she loved to retell over and over. "Y'know what a hybrid is? Kinda like you, I think. Their part human, part creature." She said as Foolish's brows furrowed.

"I'm not really human. I am totem and shark, little bit of human maybe." Foolish said, Ponk didn’t know what a totem was but maybe she could find a book on it. She'd have to check to see if there even was books in the light house.

"Oh well still similar. I met these too hybrids, a bird one and a piglin. I still don't know much about piglins but I do know alot about birds! The man was a crow." Ponk really did remember the older two, they had been sitting in the inn when Ponk was dropping off a shipment of lemons, she had stayed to listen when she realised that alot of kids where surrounding the pair as they told tales of their adventures.
"They were telling stories about how they had toppled goverments and collected so much loot. The two showed off some of it, the crow one gave each of us kids something. Though the piglin one did ask us if any of use where orphans."

Ponk was still curious to why the pink haired hybrid had asked but she decied it definitely wasn't important anymore. Foolish was still nodding along as he blinked before speaking up. "Do you still have the jewellery?"

With a quick nod Ponk lifted her hand. It was a gold ring with a bright lapis gem in it, the old crow hybrid had told her that he had gotten it as a lucky charm from a fortune teller. That it was blessed by a goddess. Foolish seemed to beam at it, the gold matching the giant's own skin, raising his hand or more a finger to look at it better. Ponk let the other look over it.

"Its very pretty. Back from where you're from, did yous have pretty sights like this?" Foolish asked as she nodded.

"I would say the cliff side or maybe the harbour. The fields- I find alot of places I've been pretty." Ponk chuckled as she looked to Foolish who was still so interested.

The two kept talking and discussing, it was mostly Ponk talking about their home village. Soon Foolish walked Ponk back to the light house then left. Towards the bit of the island where she wasn't allowed to go.. maybe Foolish just liked his privacy or his house was a mess or hes hidding a bit secret. Would he live in a house? Maybe a den or something, would it be another sort of thing like the light house? Ponk decied she had questioned to much recently and so moved into the light house and began to look around. Wanting to see if there was books in the light house.

Hunting each of the rooms she soon found something, not books but a key. Then it clicked, that diary! Of course it has a key. Though she hadn’t realised it was even locked from not going to look at it fully. Ponk moved quickly back towards where she has put the diary and picked it up. Slotting the key in she unlocked the diary. It was old, slightly tattered on some pages.

But it was something.

The first few pages gave little information other than a bit of stuff. That whoever’s diary this is, is a pirate. They had came along to find some treasures, which was supposedly buried on the island. Though after awhile in the diary, it never speaking a word on there being others on the island but it does talk about a sea beast off the coast of it. Probably meaning Foolish and his lack of social skills.

He had probably almost knocked the pirates ship over. Like how he had knocked her little boat over. Then again he was probably was a sea beast in a way, but then again the man had said he was a totem shark- hybrid. But then again Ponk didn’t know what a totem was and there was nothing about it in the book she had for now. Maybe there'd be more on the side of the island she wasn't allowed at, she could ask Foolish or be a sneaky person but...not yet, Ponk didn’t want to be rude. Foolish was nice had let her stay and all, she could be polite at least back.

But...that didn't stop her curiousity and if Foolish didn't catch her, she'd be fine. Okay fine. She was curious but- maybe that was something she should do the next night. She should be polite first, ask first but for now Ponk was going to sleep, that was a better idea since she was more than sure that Foolish was probably asleep by then. So while moving to the bed she shifted carefully through the dark light house before jumping startled as the light house's light went on. That was a bit scary but proved her right, magic probably or on a timer. Which made it easier for Ponk to move back to the bed to sleep.

Chapter Text

The sun seemed to be a great alarm clock really as Ponk moved to get up. Humming as she rubbed at her eyes, resorting her routine before moving to grab her bag and then to leave.

She wanted to find Foolish, not that she was super sure where he'd even be. Maybe by the reef from yesterday or the area where the two had first met. Ponk wandered around but she couldn't find him. Worry began to chew at the back of her brain. Concern growing as she waited and still found nothing.. that's when she decided that she needed to know if the other was safe and healthy.

Humming she moved and quickly began towards the area of the island that she wasn't meant to go. Ponk walked for a long while, soon noticing that the trees seemed to slowly stop. As much as she was worried, at the same time she was curious. What could Foolish even be hidding? But it partly felt like an invasion of privacy.

But still, it seemed needed. What if Foolish was dying or sick? She was a doctor- her whole reason for leaving was to be able to help others so she planned to do so. This side of the island looked unlike the circled in reef flat and taken up mostly by trees.

Though these trees are missing the fruits that hung from the trees on the other side of the island. Ponk could hear water but she couldn't see any water. But then an overwhelming feeling of sea salt and such filled Ponk’s nose. Plus a sudden nauseous feeling cause her to stumble pausing to gather herself. It was like everything had shifted, everything had well changed.

Then she heard a very angry voice booking from her left. “Why are you here? I said you weren’t allowed here!” It was Foolish, voice echoing from its volume. Ponk turned in a hurry to face the other who looked fuming.

“I wanted to make sure you were okay!” Ponk said hurriedly, watching as Foolish paused, sighed before softening.

“Oh…Well I’m fine. Let’s go back towards the coast.” Foolish said as his anger seemed to dissipate.

Ponk agreed though she only grew more curious to what Foolish was hiding. But it was better to not push Foolish anymore, at least not today. Foolish began to walk back towards the coast, Ponk following along a bit more timidly.

“I am sorry to intrude… just was worried y’know?” Ponk spoke up, watching as Foolish looked over his shoulder.

“I jumped the shore. Got ahead of myself.” Foolish said as his brows furrowed as Ponk looked confused.

“Jumped the shore? Is that like the term jumped the gun?” Ponk asked.

“Uhh yes?” Foolish was just as confused as Ponk now.

It seemed neither of them actually knew. Sayings from here to there to everywhere was always a different term or topic though it made sense for Foolish to speak like it with fishes and seas.

After walking back towards the shore, Ponk decied to ask some questions final. "Why can't I go to the other side of the island?" Watching as Foolish looked to the other brow raised.

"Why do you want to know?" Foolish asked as Ponk shrugged.

"I assume its you're house but I'm just curious. Plus you've been quite suspicious." Ponk mused as she looked back to the other.

"Mm. You're right it is my house. So don't go near it." The giant said as Ponk nodded quickly before the two continued to talk.

It had taken to Ponk to thinking about when she was younger not allowed near the north corner of the orchard it was off limit. Though that was for her safety since back there was the old crumbling barn. It was burned awhile ago. She had like how it looked, it was intresting most due to her parents not talking about it. They weren't ever keen to talking about it but she hadn't ever explored it, mostly because that wouldn't have been a good idea. Ponk didn't want to get in trouble back then.

Ponk gave a small nod as Foolish changed the topic quickly. So that meant she wouldn't bring it back up. "Have you ever been in love?" Foolish asked, which Ponk hadn't techically ever dated anyone but she had a crush before. It was on the black smith's apprentice. Or his actual name of Samuel Awesome, or as most called him Sam. They were friends at the time.

Having been friends since Ponk was around five. Sam was seven when the two had met. Sam had been cornered under a tree with a bucket tossed over his head by the other kids. Herself had been planning to drop off the lemons to the inn but she had stopped when she saw a group of the other kids circling something around the trunk of a tree. Then trying to get a closer look she saw it was a kid or something similar.

She assumed that it was a kid due to the others hurdling insults at the kid. Monster, weirdo, creature, stupid and more. Concerned to say the least Ponk had moved to grab a lemon from the basket and with a bit of aiming tossed it square into the back of a kid's head. Watching as the bully sqwaked and reached to cover the back of where was hit. "Leave them alone!" Ponk huffed as the the kids hissed and quickly ran off. "Fine deal with the monster!" One of the kids had yelled back as Ponk moved to walk down towards the bucket wearing kid with the basket of lemons.

The kid was curled up into a small ball, as small as such a tall kid could, then again Ponk was also tiny. Ponk moved to grab the handle of the bucket and quickly lifted it off the other's head. The kid was an obvious hybrid, more mob than human, probably why the kids picked on the kid. Large droopy ears, paws and claws, green with large doe eyes that had tears collected in the corners. "Hi, I'm Ponk!" She said holding her hand out watching as the other took hwr hand carefully.

"I'm Sam.." Sam said, as the creeper hybrid as Ponk would learn later stood up straight- much taller than her. Taking the basket as he noticed Ponk struggling with it. Ponk and Sam walked for a bit before Ponk spoke up. The silence getting akward.

"Sooo what type of hybrid are you?" Ponk asked, as Sam looked over. Ears flopping with.

"I'm a creeper hybrid, I'm shocked you're not scared of me y'know?" Sam replied, which made sense. Green, semi bob cat like.

"Why would I be scared? Can you explode like a creeper?" Turning with the same bright lights that beamed when ever she got excited.

Sam only nodded a bit, eyes furrowed "Yes? I can.. I don't know how though and I don't want to find out." The boy stated anxiously and concerningly quick.

"That would kill you?- we won't test it! Promise." Ponk said quickly as they began to at least reach half way to their or what was meant to be Ponk's location. "We're bestfriends now!" Ponk added as she bounced on her heels.

"Oh..okay? Is that how that works?" Sam asked head tilting. Ponk would compare it to like a puppy watching as his ears followed.

"Of course! Do you doubt me?" Ponk said angrily though it was playful she realised after a second Sam didn't get that. "I'm joking Sammie." Ponk said as she turned to face the other, walking backwards.

"Oh. Alright, then yeah I guess we are!" Sam said a smile finally crossing his face. That had been the start of their friendship. Something that at least for Ponk turned into a crush, she had fallen head over heels for the creeper hybrid. It was something that brought joy to Ponk's heart to think about. She could remember when her crush started truly. They were ten and twelve respectively. Ponk having learned what love was from fairy tales, a story for another time but its what had began to form in her heart for the older.

It was around the time Sam had gotten more inshape, with helping everyone around the town and working with the blacksmith moving weapons into carts he'd gained some muscles but that didn't matter much to Ponk. It made him hotter yes but she was caught on his golden heart.

As much as Ponk told Sam over and over not to work himself into the ground the man was a people pleaser. Who burried himself in work always and constantly. Sam was an over worker, a lovely person really. Which brought them to them figuring out what they were meant to do to confess, if they should.

She knew Sam loved sweets. It was why Ponk would say the man wasn't fully inshape, his sweet tooth was like a void. Other than the pudge and baby fat that forever clung to the hybrid's body. The man was strong yet squishy. The man had a bit of a stomach plus a decently nice ass in Ponk's opinion.

Maybe that was why Sam was at the moment snacking on serval types of chocolates. Licking his paws lightly, to clean them. "Where did you even get those?" Ponk asked tilting her head.

"Mister Minecraft. He gave me them for moving some boxes." Sam answered through a mouth of food. Ever a man of manners. Though it made sense, the older of the town loved Sam for the most part, gave him alot of sweets to after figuring out that Sam loved them. Also that the greenette didn't mind them as payment.

Ponk chuckled, watching the other eat always made it feel more datey. "You really should get proper pay for you're work Sammie." She said watching as the other finshed off the box of chocolates.

"Its fine, I don't mind. Free food!" Which hurt Ponk's heart a little knowing that Sam didn't know who his parents were at least from what she was told. But Sam owned his own house or it was what he got mostly free plus he got food. "Oh- I got an interview with Mister Blade. He's wanting to take me up as an apprentice." Sam added, Ponk nodded excitedly.

"That means you'll finely get payed for stuff?" Ponk said playfullying only getting a huff in response. That was the day that pulled her even more head over heels. Sadly Ponk had never picked up enough confidence to ask Sam for a date though she was sure he had said yes.

Foolish was as before caught on all of her words, she decied to return the question with a slightly different one. "If there was ever others. Have you felt love? Romantic or platonic." Ponk asked as the giant shook his head.

"Never. Other than maybe..well not love but there was one person before but I can't speak his name." Foolish said and that was that. Ponk continued to tell the taller stories of her town. It was going well. Ponk would ask her questions another day.

Ponk was reading the diary again, nothing much more looked out at her at least not yet. She found out nothing more interesting though it made her realise that Foolish wasn't always very truthful or Foolish wasn't sure what she meant. It was fine, that was fine for later. Questions for later. Ponk decied it was best to go sleep, she'd sneak to Foolish's house tomorrow, hopefully.

Chapter Text

It had taken weeks for Ponk to build her confidence back up but she was ready to sneak to the side of island she wasn't meant to see. Curiousity was churning in her mind for to long and she wanted, no needed to know.

She was sneaking and had tried to cover herself a bit in darkness. It was a bit easier than when she was younger as it was ethier soft sand or grass, quiet to walk on. It reminded her of her childhood. Or more her teenage-hood and the one time she had snuck out.

Decieding to go out and drink with her friend group. That group being Puffy, Skeppy and Punz. Bad and Sam had been invited but both had backed out and discouraged the group drinking. Though Ponk was tempted to go drag Sam from his bed, much like Skeppy said he'd be doing for Bad. But she also knew that Sam was now staying in the guest room of Mr. Minecraft and Mr.Blade. They had visited when she was younger- as much as Ponk hadn't ever realised that the crow and boar hybrid where the same people.

If she did Ponk knew that she'd have to be very, very careful. Mr. Minecraft or Philza, or Phil as the man prefered to be called was nice, a little more chill, would probably be fine with it but it was a different story with Mr. Blade or Technoblade. A strict mentor type to Sam who had rules and such for near everything. Though he did genuinely care for Ponk, she could tell that if he was the tough love hidding type in showing it.

So Ponk had decied not to do that. She'd just meet the group at their spot, under the old bridge. It wasn't crunbling or anything but it was quite nice and no one else goes there since the path was quite hidden plus the river under it was quite nice to just listen to.

Though that was the opposite of what they'd all be doing. Puffy was bringing her radio and Punz his speakers. Punz was someone she had met when his brother had ended up stuck in her family's lemon storage after breaking in for some lemons for his friends to make lemonade as none enough were brave enough to ask.

Had been a funny experience to see Purpled stuck hanging from a rope, when Ponk had walked in to fetch her lemons that needed delivered. Purpled was hanging in a bunch of ropes, trying to wiggle free half unconscious. Ponk had broken into a fit of giggles seeing Purpled, a known petty thief that mostly no one cared to stop, he stole food and that was it or drinks. All that was even needed anyhow. Now stuck in the Dropby's storage.

It was especially funny when Punz had to come help Ponk and Ponk's dad get a net off Purpled. Or ropes that are basically a net.

So now Ponk was following the river, she could hear Punz's music in the distance. She enjoyed following the river, tuning most if not all out, just watching the water go. The music was quite loud as Ponk reached the spot. Puffy had a bottle of whiskey and was resting against the grass and Punz was stood drunkenly singing along to the songs on the nightly radio.

The radio station had songs that looped for awhile in a system so it was different, they had gotten very drunk and very much caught. Adults had found them from Sam snitching or more pressured into saying. Sam having told them that Techno had woken him up and stared him down with that stern voice that scared even Ponk as much as she’d not admit it til he spilled. Ponk had been grounded, Puffy had been put on extra chores and Punz didn’t even get in trouble. Which made sense since Punz’s parents weren’t home ever.

Ponk was pulled from her thoughts as she felt a sudden heavy nauseous feeling. Feeling her legs crumple under her for a second as she rushed to cover her mouth. Gagging lightly as acid raised, shallowing it down before hearing movement and going still.

Even in the dark she could tell it was Foolish from how the other stepping into where she was curled up. Pain and nauseous feeling not going away. Hearing a grunt and sigh, grumbling as she felt herself getting scooped up. The pain was too much for her to stay conscious. As much as Ponk fought it. Soon falling into the blackness of sleep.

Waking up Ponk was in a bed way to comfortable to be the light house’s bed. After awhile she heard movement and blinked her eyes a bit clearing sleep from them to see Foolish staring at her from across the room in a chair that was a bit away from the desk it accompanied.

“Why?” Foolish sounded mad. Which made sense, Ponk had broken the much taller’s trust.

“I’m sorry…I got to curious.” She said, timidly quiet.

Foolish huffed muttering something in chirps and grunts before moving to stand “Stay. You’re still injured. Walked into one of the native plants.” He ordered before promptly leaving.

Ponk was in no place to argue, she couldn’t even really feel her legs though it was very sore, plus she was in the wrong. Staring at where Foolish had been before as boring as it was when ever she tried to shift even to look up at the ceiling it burned. Soon hearing the door open again, and glancing the best she could to see Foolish. With two trays.

One with two glasses of waters in wine glasses and a pair of plates with foods. It was bread and rabbit stew, also a potion. Which turned out to be a healing one. Foolish helped Ponk the other drink the potion and then sit up to eat properly. Foolish was eating alongside her a much as the potion had numbed the pain.

“That’ll numb you for a bit. Only a bit. Why were you so curious?” Foolish asked voice gruff with what she could guess was betrayal.

“Why you didn’t want me to see it. Just wanted to see really.” Ponk said as she finally got to look around the room.

“Oh… fine. That’s better than I thought. Get your rest.” Foolish said before leaving again.

She hummed, she’d sleep in a bit. Finally talk the room in she realised it was sandstone or the room and maybe house was made of it. The floor was carpeted and definitely insulated. There wasn’t any windows, though there was a door off to the other side of the room, still on the far side away from her but she didn’t know what was outside or past the door.

Curiosity got her into this mess it wasn’t going to get her out but Foolish seemed fine, fine with it all. Or with her looking. She was fine, deciding it was best to sleep. She had nothing better to do to pass the time yet.

Notes:

Foolish's house is giant size but he does have smaller stuff, why Ponk's in a size fitting room. I forgot to mention that Foolish isn't giant in the room so I'm saying Ponk didn’t notice.

Sorry for the shorter chapter

Chapter Text

Ponk had slept restlessly. The pain causing to much issue for her to truly fall asleep but she did sleep for a little bit and when she woke up she was still in the room. Though Foolish wasn’t there yet but she could hear him. Or hopefully that was his echoey footsteps, even if she could hear small quieter footsteps. Pittering quietly about. It wasn’t long til Foolish returned opening the door, it was then while a bit more clear from the suddenness of it all that Foolish was, smaller.

“When…could you shrink?” She asked looking to Foolish who put the same trays as yesterday down. Difference in food but still water for a drink.

“Always have been able to, I just prefer not to. Plus I’m only doing it so not to crush stuff.” Foolish answered, as she was passed a plate. Salmon and some form of vegetables to the side, it looked nice at least.

Foolish preferring his full height seemed normal at least, make sense. Ponk shouldn’t be shocked really, Foolish was a hybrid and they did often have abilities. A height changing hybrid didn’t sound super odd.

After awhile and the two finishing eating it fell into s comfortable silence. Foolish had taken to reading while Ponk stared at the roof.

“You’ve told me a lot of stories. Do you want to hear one of mine?” Foolish mused.

It did make Ponk curious so she nodded. A story from Foolish would be quite nice. “It was the first time I had made a totem. Uh one second.” The other left for a second before returning with a small item in hand. “One of these, enchanted with magic to revive you if you die with it in your hand.” A decent explanation.

“I made it a long time ago or I made the first one awhile ago. There’s a lot of them. Back then when I first took som, none were the ones I stuck with actually. I hated them all. So I went back to sketching til I found a better design, with some inspiration from myself and my environment. How I ended up coming up with this design. It looks good doesn’t it?”

Foolish asked and she couldn’t help but agree. “It does look nice.” Ponk was curious to how Foolish had learned magic or what type, since she knew there was a few types, hybrid magic or learned magic. “How did you learn magic?” She questioned looking at the other in curiosity.

“Oh- uh it was self taught. I have quite a sizeable library.” Foolish said a bit caught off guard. Ponk looked up as Foolish stood book to the side collecting their dishes before leaving the room, promising to return after. Which he did and it lapsed back into a nice silence. Ponk had taken to day dreaming as Foolish read.

“Would you be able to get me a book?” Ponk asked as Foolish nodded.

“Yeah at least til you’re back on your feet. Though do just ask if you need anything, I’m more than willing to help.” Foolish said lightly as he stood. “What book do you want?”

“A fairy tale one. I love fairy tales.” Ponk said as she looked to the other. Who nodded and quickly moved to go fetch Ponk a fitting book.

Foolish knew he had a lot of books that fitted what Ponk was looking for, of true myths people thought were only fantasy’s. Or just truly fantasy’s one. Scanning the books, calloused hands, rough from work trailing against the book shelves and books as he scanned. Changing his height to see more of his generous selection of books.

So many books racked and sorted apron his oak shelves. He’d carved and made all of it, his shelves and home by hand, it was an amazing feet and Foolish knew that. Though the books weren’t something he had found on his own no they were given to him by a friend. An old friend. There was at least three tons of books containing all the knowledge he knew, as much as he barely ever read. Reading was a boring pass time for him, only reading then because he had found and taken the book that was in Ponk’s bag.

A odd book of herbs and medicines. What medicine was a mystery to him but he knew of herbs, they were good for cooking. But still other than that and potions he didn't use herbs much, he barely ever made potions unless healing another which right now meant Ponk. Focusing again he found the book he was looking for, a long collection of fairy tales all in one book.

It wasn't one he had personal read, he hadn't actually read any of the books in his library. They just sat though he kept the place clean and dusted. It was for looks mostly but maybe with Ponk around they'd be of use, admittedly he may be a little attached to Ponk. Her being the first person for who knows how long he'd truly talked to. He hadn’t actually talked to most others before, he'd been alone for a long, long while. It wasn't awful if not a little lonely at times.

But that was fine. Foolish could live with being lonely. He couldn't expect Ponk to stay for forever but for now it was fine, she was a bit injuried due to his magic but she didn't need to know that. Blaming it on a plant was easier than explaining anything more, plus she didn't seem to question it. Grabbing the book as he shrunk back down. It was a huge book, stories from all over the world.

Much like the stories Ponk had been telling him. Or at least from her village, he was caught on all of what she spoke of. It made his heart beat quicken and his stomach feel like he'd eaten butterflies again. Tucking the book under his arm before leaving towards the guest room that Ponk was staying in. His footsteps echoing lightly as he ingored the cats that were running around. The island cats had taken to the gold man's home awhile ago. It was fine really, Foolish liked petting them from time to time. It was calming.

The cats were quite affectionate, they all looked similar with there tan pelts though he had named them off of small features. One of the cars rubbed against his leg, purring happily. It was Fang, cause unlike the rest with a proper amount of canies this one only had on truly sharo canie, the rest were duller. It looked like a shark's tooth. Stub was resting a bit away from the two, sun bathing in the light that shone through Foolish's window, as much as the pyramid was a bit shaded it had lovely spots for lighting, he normally left it natural other than when night time fell. Then it was pitch black.

Stub and Fang were only two of about five cats. Tres was the one with only three legs and there was Grump, who had gotten that name when the cat had latched onto Foolish's arm for about three hours, after hiss and clawing at him. The last of them was Sleeper, who normally was sleeping so, so often. Named after their biggest traits.

They were politer ones, from what Foolish knew as polite. Espically since that was quite a limited thing, Ponk had explained to him properly and all about why his little boat jest wasn't nice. It was funny to him and Ponk didn’t even get hurt! But still, Ponk didn’t find it funny so he knew he shouldn't do it again. As much as that'd not stop him and his splashing, he was a shark hybrid and what else do you do in water if you don't splash your friend?

Shooing Fang off as he went to go into Ponk's room. Closing the door carefully when he realised that the other was asleep. Deciding to just leave the book and go start a new project. But before he did that he moved to tuck Ponk in. The other looked cold anyhow.

Now she wasn't sure when she had fallen asleep but Ponk had at somepoint fallen asleep for who knows how long. She felt well rested plus the potions and all her resting, she felt a bit prepared to at least walk to the door across the room. The one she hadn't seen anyone use. Though as she turned she saw that Foolish had gotten her a book. It was massive, like a gaint book. Ponk guessed she'd not run out of stories anytime soon but first. Ponk wanted to reach the door. Then she could read.

Shifting she could feel the pain, not as bad as before as much as it was still bad, she could move at least. Though once Ponk tried to stay pain shot up all over her body causing her to collapse backward groaning in pain. There went her plan, reading was a better one. Taking a few seconds as Ponk moved to get comfortable in the bed, body relaxinh quickly against the comforters of the bed. Reaching for the book she began to flip to the first pages, the index.

Ponk knew these stories, there were ones from her childhood. Old fairy tales. That was nice, it made her feel slightly homesick but it was for the best. She still wanted to help others, others not in the village since they barely ever needed a full doctor. Magic and potions as rare as it was could be used if it was that serious but it barely ever was that serious, most the time people just got colds or a sick bug. Or a sore throat or stressed muscle. Nothing very serious.

The first tale was a classic one, sleeping beauty. Ponk rather liked these ones, sleeping beauty, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid. There was also others but for love stories or fiary tales? These were it for her. Though she was wondering if Foolish had ever went and got her bag, she carried it everywhere it was odd to have it missing.

But then again she felt a bit bad to ask, she was already taking up the other’s time and supplies. It would be fine. She could wait for later, unaware that her bag was near just away in the living room of Foolish's pyramid. She was slowly reading through the book, not wanting to go to quickly through it. As much as she was slightly irrated at how slow she was healing. Then again she was impatient, always an impatient person. Somewhat.

Disliking to wait, waiting was always a issue. She dislikes waiting a long time and it was fine, Ponk could deal with some irradiation. She needed to at least to heal fully, it'd be fine. She'd be fine.

Looking up from the book as she heard the door open, it wasn't Foolish but a cat. A giant one. Which slowly walked forward the door closing as it moved to hop up onto the bed and soon curled up at the end of the bed. She wasn't scared really, the cat seemed fine and friendly. Plus was just sleeping at the end of the bed. The cat was adorable really, she'd pet the cat if it wasn't super far away. This wasn't too bad as much as she'd prefer to be able to get up and move, to help Foolish about at least.

The two stayed like that for awhile soon Ponk moved the book to the side, moving to rest. Take a nap, maybe that would ease some of the pain. As much as she hoped that it would go away a little quicker.

Ik these chapters have been a little smaller and all but the next one should be longer :]

Chapter Text

It took a few weeks but Ponk was healing. Slowly but surely healing. She could get up and walk towards the other door with some help. Foolish had helped by crafting with some guidance very strong iron crutches. With a large carving knife to do so, they worked.

Which right now she was using to travel across the room to the other room attached to the guest room. It was a bathroom, a luxurious one at that. With a nicely made bathtub that is bigger, Ponk even if submerged in the water, feet couldn’t reach the end of the tub. It had many options for soaps and such. The sink was just as nice and the mirror shining like it was freshly made. It was in a gold frame, sparkling enough to catch her eye the first time she entered the room.

She moved to look in the mirror, her white hair fluffed and curled, wild from sleep. Moving to grab one of the combs from the small dish of items that sat on the sink. It was the comb from their bag, that they had learned that Foolish had. It had been a nice thing since now she could work with her hair well. As much as Foolish’s products worked they weren’t the best. Her own were after years of perfecting it.

Once that was all done she moved towards the fresh clothes Foolish had given her. It was very nicely done, it was a red summer dress, it fit her quite well. The sleeves proofed at the end as well. She kept her old mask, it’s pattern of a duller reddish colour, the same with the black and orange to it. It was good. She had gotten it when she was younger, it was from one of her aunts.

Ponk walked out of the room, heading towards Foolish's living room. The living room was more in the center of the pyramid, the room had a side that had a window beaming light into the room. Basking the room in a bright light. She enjoyed it really, the giant was there as well, Foolish was sitting cross-legged with her herb book again. She was pretty sure he had taken her book and was just slowly reading through it. Slowly making her way over before sitting down with her crutches.

"Morning Ponk." Foolish chirped, voice still toned with deep with sleep. Watching as the other moved to look over, head tilted slightly.

"Morning, do we have any plans? Or do you?" Ponk asked as Foolish hummed moving to look up a bit.

"I plan to work on a project. Need to carve and make pillars for it so you can sit and watch if you want." Foolish said as he stood quickly all be it a bit lazily. Ponk nodding and moving to follow a bit more slowly.

Foolish lead her to the others building room or crafting room? The room is massive it must be in top of the pyramid though everything doesn't always add up in the others house, though that was due to the odd layout. The other shifted height to be his tallest which she still estimated was probably twenty or more feet. She found a small couch in the corner to sit on. It seemed quite new at least, fresh cushioning and all. It was super soft and she found it very comfortable.

Watching the totem take a large chisel begin to chisel away at this large rectangular sand stone. It was resting over Foolish's shoulder as he moved to be a bit more comfortable to slowly and carefully worked away. It somewhat reminded her of Sam and how determinded and focused he could be with his own projects. Ponk herself normally didn't get that focused or had much to do that way.

Curling a bit into a ball, chin resting on her knees as she watched. It wasn't the most intresting but she'd prefer it to being by herself for a longer time. Reading as nice was it was, wasn't always the most entertaining. She had taken to baking when she was at home, having learned when she was younger with the help of her mother.

She still had recipes in her memories, the lemon tarts, pies and also her favourite was the fruit cakes they made with cherries, lemons, blueberries, raspberries and some limes. They all mixed well together into a sweetish sourish taste. She loved it, the puffy cake as she called it was more of a cookie shaped pastry. She missed it. Maybe the reminder of home but it made her stomach churn with a home sick feeling.

Not even realising that Foolish had moved merely imches from her face, jumping back watching as Foolish still stared before the other spoke, fully dragging her from her mind. "You okay?" For a man with such a lack of manners in a way his empathy was abundant.

Nodding lightly, Ponk didn’t trust herself to speak. Not with how tight her lungs felt and how sore her throat felt. "You sure?" Foolish was prying. She knew that.

Ponk huffed, shrugging slightly "feeling home sick.." she said, eyebrows scrunching up as the others face softened.

"Oh. Uhh what will help?" The other's gentle concern squeezed her heart, it made that all familiar butterflies feeling flutter around too. But it didn't move her concern.

"Can..can we cook?" Ponk asked, as she moved to sit up a bit more from her curled up postion. Foolish had finshed both pillars and having started a third when he realised at least or had to have realised. Foolish nodded, Ponk was about to stand up but she sqweaked before realising that she had been picked up in the palm of the other's hand. It felt oddly safe.

"Faster this way." The giant said before moving, lifting her after carefully picking up the crutches in the other hand, moving through the halls in the others hand- the others hand was very warm.

The kitchen waa just as fancy as the rest. A fancy stove oven and counters, all of it. As much as she knew she couldn't really cook, Foolish had told her nothing strenuous so she was sat on the counter against the wall as Foolish looked to her.

"What are we cooking?" He asked, she shrugged a bit. Not sure of what he could cook or what he had.

"Anything really, I don't know..sorry." Ponk hummed as she looked at the other, who just nodded and moved to cook. He had started on cutting a piece of salmon. Moving to hand something to Ponk with a smile, it was a piece of food. A peach. "Eat. You look pale." Foolish said lightly as she sighed nodding and moving to eat.

She was a bit sad to have to rest back as Foolish cut up salmon, carrots, raddish and also some potatoes. He was mostly making a variety of it into the food. The smell was great, she couldn't help but relax a bit. It made her feel a bit more at home, it was a nice thing. And it was something that would become a regular event.

Ponk was still unsure of what her plan was at all anymore, but then again she couldn't really do anything much yet as she was hurt and well, this was nice. This was nice meeting and spending time with Foolish, he was a lovely man really. She perked up as Foolish began to sing a small tune, Ponk didn’t know the tune and so couldn't sing along but his voice was very soothing. She hadn't even realised that her eyes was slightly closed and she was slumping slowly as Foolish only gave a small doopy smile.

It was a while but the smell was lovely and amazing. As Foolish set up the salmon onto the stove and began to set up on the plate with some herbs and vegetables and after awhile moving the salmon to rest onto the plates. So they both had something to eat. Foolish sat down on the counter across from Ponk as they ate in a peaceful silence.

It was very good, she looked up slightly. “Thank you..for all this.” Ponk said as the other titled his head confused. Foolish was quite expressive, which was nice better than her old crush really. Sam was always so much more closed off with his emotions. It was a nicer thing.

Not that she was complaining. "For caring for me, for cooking for me and all." She had cooked before, then again not since she had left home, she had been eating her rations from her bag since the kitchen in the light house didn't work or not well. Nor did she have supplies to make good food.

Foolish's face blinked before nodding "Ah, alright!" Cheering up as the two soon settled into a nice conversation. They stayed like that was awhile before it was getting late and they moved bringing their conversation back to the guest room. Which ended up both asleep, Ponk in the bed and Foolish in the chair by the desk.

Ponk was walking fine now after a few more weeks. It was more or less sore anymore, a bit achey but she was fine now. Now Foolish was showing and teaching her types of fishes, puffer fishes, the multiple types of tropical fishes, she at one point had to tell Foolish to put a shark down. The damn shark was very terrifying. Though it like Foolish was just a giant puppy and so it was fine. Just a bit scary, she hadn't ever heard anything super great about sharks.

"Y'know I brought you here to teach you about fishes but also. I also wanted to tell you something." Foolish admitted as Ponk looked up to the other as he chewed on his lip anxiously.

"I'm not gonna judge." Ponk said quickly as the other nodded lightly before answering and she felt her eyes go a bit wide as she watched the waves raise and move, getting a bit taller.

"I..I am noy just a hybrid..I'm a god. As much as I'm a younger god- I can prove it!" Foolish said.

And his plan of proving it was to use his magic. Ponk watched intently as a suddden cyan colour began to spread around the others hands, glowing in circles around the giant's hands. Emerald eyes begining to glow as well, skin seeming to shimmer even brighter than his already shiny gold skin. His fins raised and spread, the same as his gills. Closing his fingers together to hold it better as the circles went around his finger tips to the palm. She watched as Foolish raised his hands to the air and she watched as her eyes somehow got even wider as the ocean bit Foolish was stood in, it pooling around his waist as the ocean began to slowly raise higher and higher. The fishes ingoring how the tide and water got higher and then watching as both of Foolish's hands stood high before he lowered his hands down to his side. Magic dissapating from his hands after he did so and Ponk watched as the waves followed Foolish's hands. It was mesmerising.

It was mesmerising to see the waves moving so calmly, to see the other in his element in a way. As much as it seemed that it was a very small thing, that nothing of it seemed to even break a sweat to Foolish. Which made sense, the man was a god.

"I am a younger god. Godling? By all terms but...yeah. I didn't want to keep it secrect from you for so much longer." Foolish added. Voice deep with emotions.

This was a big thing, that Ponk could tell. The other was hesitant, the normally bubbly confident Foolish burried under that concern that she'd react badly. "Thats...cool.." she was in awe, eyes shimmering with intrest, her tounge at a lost for words, her mouth slight a bit agape. "Sorry..that, that seems so little." Ponk added, still a bit in shock. Foolish's laugh as much as it had that worried rasp to it she'd began to pick up on but Foolish moved to rest a bit more in the water as he began to control more of the water.

"Do..you want to tell me anything else?" Ponk asked "not that you do- just if we're getting things off our chests." She added quickly, which she watched as Foolish shook his head. Neither seemed to have anything they were willing to share. As much as both had those ever familiar butterflies. Ponk had learned about butterflies as a kid, that they were made by a goddess as lucky wishes for mortals.

"Wait. Does that mean you know other gods?" Ponk asked, her curiousity was peaked now as it clicked and questions began to fill her mind. Questions apon questions all began to collect and click quickly to her. Foolish's booming laugh fixed the mood really, it made a smile spread across her face quickly.

“Not really, I’ve never seen or met them but I know of them.” Foolish said as he continued to lightly twist the water around his hands and upper torso, moving any fishes and such that ended up in the water back down to avoid the, ending up land drowned.

Ponk hummed before asking “Why are you alone here then?” She saw the others face flash a few reactions before it settled again, the water going erratic for a second.

“To learn, that’s uh what an old friend said.” Foolish said voice a bit more cut and snipped.

She could tell the other didn’t want to talk about it so she left it. They sat in silence somewhat as Ponk watched Foolish moved the water around. “Y’know I can also control like lighting and that.”

“That sounds wonderful actually, I know most are scared of storms but I love them.” They were pretty in her mind, running out into them feeling the cold water spattered against her as the crackle of the lightning fills the silence. Though her mother always hated her doing it and had taken to locking the door when Ponk was five so she stopped trying to run out into them.

Though that stopped working when Ponk turned seven and learned how to unlock the door. Her mother had tried hiding the key but she, the little climber she was as her father called her always found it. No matter where they were. When she was older she'd still do it, run around in the storm, splashing about most the time.

Foolish's smile was so much brighter to that, Ponk couldn't help but smile brightly in return. She rather liked this, this was nice. She was trying to ingore the butterflies that were fluttering in her chest nowadays. She knew what it was, she didn't want to admit it. She never would admit it. Never ever and she meant that! Admittedly that never ever was probably a lie, she just- didn't want to then. Maybe she never would. She always was bad at crushing. But this... this felt a bit different, as she watched in glee as Foolish cheerfully messed around with the water.

It made her heart pick up its beat. It made her want to melt but for then she was better keeping it to her, she knew that for the best. For now, she knew she fell hard quickly and there was a high chance that Foolish wouldn't love her inreturn. That was an anxious idea that pulled at her heart strings but it was logical. The two sat there was who knows how long just spending time together.

Chapter Text

The pair had taken to spending more and more time together, be it with Foolish building or cooking, Ponk was well enough to help to now! At least with cooking, plus she had taken to reading while the other built or they ended up hanging out in the library or the living room.

And her butterflies had only gotten worse. She was a blushing mess when around Foolish as much as the obvious god never noticed. It made her feel a mess, she was daydreaming by the window in the living room. Foolish was off, doing something she couldn't know about, a suprise is what Foolish had said. She wasn't much for suprises but thats fine at least, Ponk could put up with it for Him.

Him was a term Ponk had used for her crushes, this was her second. Why it was him over another word. Him was what she knew was her type, her person. Her forever. Her wanted forever, there was no way to know that others even liked her back- unless she asked. But she hadn't asked before, she should ask, it was better than thinking and thinking to the point she couldn't think anymore.

She was just staring outside, the tree outside the window swaying with the light breeze. Ponk wasn't focused, the ideas of how she'd ask, if she should ask, what could go right or wrong. All of it had her wrapped in her head. Ponk had only moved a bit as Tres, one of Foolish's many cats moved to rub against her legs. "Yous would know Foolish right?" She asked as the cat lazily looked up at her, as it moved to rest about a quarter into her lap as it was to big to move anymore into her lap.

"Yeah, yous would. Living here for longer than I have, what could you tell me huh?" Ponk asked as she moved to pet Tre's lightly behide the cat's ears. "I'm talking to myself. Or talking to a cat. Both sound crazy." She added, chuckling lightly. Continuing to pet the cat, going back to wandering within her mind.

Ponk wasn't sure how long she was sat there pondering when Foolish returned, his prideful smile beaming at her as he moved towards the other moving Tres from her lap before quickly scooping the shorter into his hand. Foolish had taken to doing it more recently. His voice sounded like calming static to her ears, head still feeling fuzzy as she looked to the other, tunning the world back in.

"You'll love this suprise. I promise." He said as he turned to look at the other, Ponk smiled inreturn.

"I believe you." She said as he carried her to where ever this big suprise was. Ponk had grown curious to what the other had been planning all day. He had even put on a different form of outfit, still the same robe and such but it had blue sewen into it. In a nice pattern a gold thread below it, accenting the blue.

It was a nicer outfit, her own outfit was a different one a white shorter dress with short sleeves the dress reached her knees and was tight fitting. She remebered why it was white and not black like she had asked, Foolish said she'd probably catch heat stroke if it was black. Which she realised later did make sense, alot of it with how the sun was attracted to black.

It didn't take long to arrive at their location, Foolish with his giant legs moved quickly. It was a cliff area, she was gentle put down before Foolish shrunk to a more human height or more to a smaller height. He still towered over her. The cliff had little but still alot at the same time. There was a red and white blanket, a bad sewing together but it looked and worked fine it seems. Also a basket with food in it, a bottle of what she assumed was wine and a pair of wine glasses. A date sort of look. She had realised her face was turning slowly redder.

Foolish was rocking on his heels with excitement, Ponk turned to glance at him. "Y'know you somewhat have to explain this right?" She said all be it playful as Foolish's off gaurd look of wide eyes made her giggle as he nodded over and over again before moving towards the set up.

"I've been doing some reading and I learned that mortals like doing things like dates so I thought I'd suprise you with one!" The other said proudly, his sharp smile blinding her heart from all the way over.

Ponk had felt her heart skip a beat, sputtering slightly as she blinked. Mouthing opening and closing a few times as she tried to find her words. Extremely caught off gaurd. "A date? Foolish- do you know what a date is?" She asked, frazzled state showing.

Watching as Foolish's head tilted like a confused puppy, obviously not, why would he? Ponk wasn't extremely shocked that he didn't having known him for a bit now. "Its a romantic thing couples do. Like as a show of affection." She explained as Foolish's brows furrowed slightly.

"But you said affection can be platonic. Why not this be a platonic date?" That made her heart squeeze a bit in pain but that was fine. Ponk couldn't be shocked anymore, she had guessed he'd not be reciprocal with her feelings.

"It can..I guess you're right there." Ponk said lightly as she moved forward and sat down across from Foolish who wore that happy smile, that was something she wanted to see everyday til she died, a dramatic thing to think about really.

Her face was still beet red. Foolish had taken charge of the conversation like most times, though he was mostly just rambling as Ponk gave small replies or retorts. Which Foolish luckily didn’t pick up on as the two began to eat and drink or more Ponk was on the latter half. Foolish hadn’t had a drop of the wine.

Ponk assumed he just didn’t like the taste of it. She wasn’t much for tasting it, more for just downing as much as it as she could, it was better that way. All she could feel or taste was the burning feeling as it trailed down her throat.

She was slowly but surely getting drunker, which as much as she was obvious to it, Foolish was much less. Noticing Ponk’s slow tipsy rocking and how she was becoming much more relaxed. It was something Foolish had noticed in mortals when they got drunk how most ended up sleepy and a lot more peppy.

He was happy to see Ponk relaxing, to she her being more comfortable. She had been so quiet and closed off for awhile, it was a newer change. Something he wanted to figure out.

He had moved after a bit so Ponk could lean against him, the tables had turned with her now rambling while he took a bit more to quietly listening. Before soon she had taken to staring up at him, eyes sparkling, it was something she liked about her eyes. “You’re really cute y’know? How you tilt your head when you’re confused, your smile could brighten a room.. all that and more.” Ponk said through her drunken slur.

Which only made the butterflies that have been in stomach for so long flutter more. “I’ve been overthinking it so much of just how to say that I like you, like love you and I don’t know why.” Ponk was definitely black out drunk by then, she had about five glasses. But then again a drunken confession was slightly expected.

“It’s been only about what? A few months now and I’ve already fallen head over heels for you. That should be a record for me then again I’ve had only one different crush.” Ponk was rambling, leaning against the other as she seemed to falling asleep, food and drinks finally setting in. Foolish watched as her loving ramblings turned to mumbles to soon quiet even breathing.

He smiled a bit as he picked the other up and the items before moving to go back towards his house, once back he leaned down to tuck her in. The confession was a conversation for the morning, it gave him a few hours to figure out how he’d even reply or bring it up, how he felt. This was a new feeling, a welcomed one but still it felt odd. But he had time for now as he moved to his study.

Chapter Text

Ponk wasn’t very sure what had happened, she was hungover she knew that from the pounding headache she had and the want to just go back to sleep. Though that was probably not a great plan. Water would probably help her headache, help the hangover.

Once she was up she changed from her yesterday outfit into a more comfortable outfit of a fluffy shirt and a pair of softer shorts, it felt to warm for full ones plus her plans was sleeping for less of a better plan. Walking out the room, sleep and hangover clouding her mind as she walked in a haze, Foolish only took notice of her by the time she was in the kitchen. She was shocked that the taller was so energetic so ealier as she sipped at the water she had.

"Good morning!" Foolish beamed getting a small mumble in return as she looked to the other. "How are you so awake?" Ponk muttered, as the other tilted his head.

"Oh- I can't get drunk. Are you alright? You seem out of it, are you still tipsy?" Foolish asked, Ponk shook her head quickly.

"Hungover, I have a headache, its fine. Uh sorry for getting so drunk, it was a great evening though." Ponk said as she finshed off her drink, Foolish nodded. His bright smile was a nice sight for her morning. His smile was alwyas nice, she always enjoyed it. It was always the best thing to her world in a way.

"Oh I don't know what that is but I'll guess its not good and you're fine though uh- you said stuffffff and I thought it'd be best for us to talk." Foolish said which only made Ponk nervous. She nodded slightly looking to the other as he continued.

"Well you confessed to me that you..liked me- like, love me? At least I'm pretty sure that's what you meant." Foolish said as he blinked for a second "Not that I mind! Or well... I just its better to say I like you too- is that how you'd phrase it?" Ponk didn’t know.

Ponk was caught off gaurd, as much as she was blushing a lot. She wasn't expecting Foolish to feel the same way back, she wasn't ever expecting anyone to love her inreturn- if only out of worry. Not out of being rejected before or anything just that she didn't expect it. Not from Sam nor Foolish, but it was fine, she could handle that the other liked her in return.

The two stood in a semi akward silence as Ponk thought over her words, she did open her mouth a few times before closing her mouth again. Looking up to the taller she hummed "I guess thats a way- I don't really know. You're the first to ask me or uh know I like them. Being my second crush and first...partner?" Ponk asked as Foolish's brows furrowed head tilting.

"Partner? What does that mean?" Foolish asked as Ponk blinked. How did she answer that? Was there a way to answer that? What was she meant to say? To explain?

"Er... like romantically together?" Ponk said, that was all she knew how to answer as Foolish hummed, shrugging moving to rest against Ponk. Who wasn't against it.

"I'll take it." Foolish said lightly as he rested his weight against the other, it was nice. She'd not complain about the weight that was now lacking on her.

As much as they were offical it didn't change much other than now Foolish would pepper kisses to her and Ponk would always ask to be picked up, it was nice. It was something she enjoyed whole heartly, everything was going well, at least til awhile later.

Chapter Text

Things were going well, for a long time. Ponk and Foolish's relesionship was growing and it was amazing. The only issue was she was getting unsettled, or more very homesick. She missed home a lot, which was why she was sitting at the shore, the same shore she had met Foolish on. Watching the sunrise as she frowned. She missed her parents, her friends, getting treats form the market and the orchard, though there was also helping others. She hadn't been able to help anyone there much other than small things with the cats and Foolish was always fine, he couldn't even get sick.

She was very much tempted to ask the other if they could go visit. Or she'd visit herself, she was mostly just wanting to visit. To see her family for a few days, see how her friends were. So she moved from where she was and stood, going towards the temple enjoying the scenery, careful of the plants that had gotten her sick last time though she wasn't aware that Foolish had enchanted some of the jewellery that she had been given.

So that she was now immune to the magic border around the totem's home. The trees and fruit, alongside its plants all looked very beautiful in the sunrising, the beaming the rays were quite peaceful. Ponk couldn't help the same falter in her smile as she remebered how the orchard looked in the sunrises and sets. Oh she was really homesick. Sighing a bit as she headed towards Foolish's craft room.

Entering to see Foolish carving a totem, it looked quite nice as she hummed looking to the giant, her partner. "Foolish." She called out, seeing the god turn to face her, fins raised happily with the others beaming smile. Watching as the god jumped to his feet and moved to pick Ponk up.

"Ponkie! How are you today my darling?" He asked as Ponk shrugged lightly, watching as her lover's face dropped a bit. "What's wrong?" He asked as Ponk sighed.

"I want to go visit my home- I'm feeling really home sick." Ponk said as she moved to rest her hand against Foolish's. "And..I was wondering if you wanted to come with me." She added smiling softly.

"Oh- I'll happy come along! But how do you plan to get there?" He asked as he was a bit confused. Moving to press his thumb to her cheek as she leaned against the other, moving to hug his hand.

"My row boat? It may take a few days but still." Ponk said as Foolish snorted before bursting out laughing, she had an eyebrow raised, confused.

"I could just swim us there, much quicker." Foolish suggested as Ponk blinked before giggling and nodded lightly.

"That is a better idea." Ponk said as she smiled. "I'm happy to get to see my parents again, im excited for you to see them! To meet them!" Ponk said as she clasped her hands together, beaming. Foolish loved seeing how happy she was.

Foolish was a bit nervous to leave the island, it was fizzled out with how excited he was to meet Ponk's parents and friends, to see new sights, to try new things, to meet more people. All of it made his heart bounce with an excited glee. Ponk had ran off back to their room to pack a case as they decied to stay a week. Right now he wanted to finsh carving his totem and then would go help her pack and pack his own things.

He'd also set up some of the old auto feeders he had for the cats up, not having to worry about water as they drank from the ocean and such fine. Their bodys sorting it out easy enough. So now he was finshing off the gift he had planned to give to Ponk, or more what was the outer shell to it. But now he put it too the side before moving off towards their bedroom where Ponk was fitting clothes away into her bag.

Himself found another bag to begin packing his own things. Watching Ponk for guidance as this was the first time he was doing anything like this. Packing away robes and such, the only things he truly wore as much as Ponk had a more diverse clothes, dresses, shirts and such, she had different types and colours. That was mostly because he had wanted to shower her in gifts as she showered him in affection.

Packing hadn't taken long since all he really needed was clothes and Ponk had the rest of her things still in her bag. They decied that they'd set off the next morning but for then they'd make sure they had everything and spend time together.

Once they had left Ponk was sat in her boat and so Foolish swam, tugging a rope from it. She mostly just got to sit and watch the water, not that it was much stress for Foolish who had went to full size. Meaning she could see the giant shadow he casted under her boat, it was a calm ride. They reached her village quite quickly, they had pulled over to it quickly, Foolish had to shrink down awhile before they got there and so hopped into the boat and Ponk rowed them the last bit there.

Once there Foolish could see people on the dock, only a small amount. Though there was a much bigger ship not that far from theirs as Ponk got out and helped him up, also tied their boat down before Ponk quickly raced off, Foolish trailing behind as he watched her tackled on of the people from behind. A green haired one as the other two seemed equally as confused for a second. As the man wrangled to be holding Ponk's shoulders. Thats when excited look crossed the man's face.

"Ponk!" The man cheered as Ponk bounced on her heels before hughing the taller.

"Sam! Hi! Oh I've missed yous all- though it looks like a good timing, Puffy's even here!" Ponk said as she moved to hug the person or one of them behind Sam, a white haired one next to a taller brunette. The two with white hair, Ponk and Puffy were the closet to each others height and Sam was more close to his height. The other, the brunette seemed a bit inbetween all of them.

"Oh- oh everyone meet my partner! Foolish!" Ponk said bouncinf back from the group to gesture to him, he felt like he was stood stupidly as he gave a small smile and wave. Watching as Ponk moved over to him taking his hand to lead him forward.

"Foolish this is Sam, Puffy and Eret! I've already told you a bit about them." Ponk said, she looked liked she coulf light of the world with how happy she was. Maybe they should visit more, he was more than happy to it seemed like a lovely place.

Watching as Sam held his hand out "It's nice to meet you." The man said as the two shook hands. This was feeling akward he had said nothing yet, his tounge felt heavy.

"Its nice to meet yous too." Foolish said, smiling as Ponk beamed. She hadn't stopped bouncing on her heels the whole time, her friends seemed just as use too it though as much as Eret seemed quiet, much like him.

"Well I'm going to go show Foolish around! See yous!" Ponk said as she took his hand and they headed off, waving lightly as they headed towards the heart of the town it seemed. They passed a lot of houses, small cobble and concrete houses, with oak windows an such, a lot of them had chimes and so presumably fireplaces. He was staring in awe at how well built everything was as he was lead past it all to a large center area, or as Ponk called it the market.

It had so much! There was all very colourful eye catchings stallsz each with very different things. Some had food, some had drinks, potions, armour, tools and so much more! It check him in amazment as they soon passed it all and began down a small path. Walking down a wooded bit. Big trees as he felt his feet catch against the gravel path walking as Ponk seemed so excited for whatever she was about to show him.

Soon at the end of the path he could see a lot more trees though spread out with large yellow shapes on them and behide it all on a Hill was a large house and barn next to it. The orchard or more Ponk's parents home. He was hoping this would go well.

Chapter Text

They had walked to the door, stopping at one point for Ponk to pluck him a ripe lemon to try. It was sour and he hated it, his face was still scrunched up from it, confused to how Ponk was eating the lemon without care for how sour it was. He didn't like lemons, as much as Ponk had hyped the fruit up to him it was much to sour for him at least to just eat, but then again his partner had always eatened the more sour fruits on the island.

The house seemed somewhat small, a two story house with small side extension from the window and curtains he could see through lead to a kitchen. They has a wood porch, a rocking chair on it with an empty basket next to it. The deck of the porch had creaked a bit at him when he stepped onto it. Foolish could only study the white house a bit as he heard Ponk knock on the door, his focus moving back to it as Ponk seemed so excited. After a bit the door opened and there was two short people, maybe a bit taller than Ponk, they looked older, late forties with stark white hair like Ponk and darker skin much like his partner's, as much as his partner was then wearing his colourful mask.

"Ma! Pa!" Ponk said happily as she hugged the to, the look of joy and confusion from Ponk's parents was a nice thing as much as he was stood there akwardly, a bit nervous to what to say, to what to do. He didn't want to mess this up as this was Ponk's parents, people he needed to impress. From the little he knew about mortal's and how humans were. "This, this is my boyfriend Foolish." That had pulled him from his mind alsothe arm that slide round his waist.

"Are we okay to stay here for the week? I wanted to visit to show Foolish around and also so he could meets yous." Ponk said as her parents looked up to him, he was a bit tall at his smallest, especially to them.

"Sure kiddo, its nice to meet you Foolish." Ponk's dad said as he stepped forward hand out and Foolish gingerly took it and shook it.

"Its nice to meet you too." Foolish said as he smiled. Walking as Ponk's mum moved forward to rest against her husband a bit.

"Awe hes just as shy as you were, makes sense our dear would find someone just as akward." Ponk sqweaked out a small ma, from the teasing as the two were ushered in, Foolish having to duck under the doorframe.

"Well its nearly lunch, do you want to help us make it or go settle in? You're rooms not changed." Ponk's mum said as Ponk hummed thinking for a second.

"I'll help! I will go put our stuff down first though." Ponk said as she lead Foolish towards the stairs after getting a small agreement from her parents. The stairs creaked a bit though Ponk told him not to worry as they were old. Or thats what she said at least. The upstairs was much smaller than the hallway down stairs, the rooms were all very close together, it was Ponk's parents room first the next Ponk's then a bathroom. The second one as Ponk says.

Ponk's room was a lovely crimson red with a double bed luckily a smaller closet and a desk. As much as it cramped the place it all looked good together, she put their bags on the bed and told Foolish to get comfortable or that he could go look around, as she was going to go cook and that the kitchen was to small to have more of three of them. So he decied to go look about while Ponk went to go cook with her parents.

Foolish had waited til Ponk told her parents that he was going to go see more of the area before fully leaving. He began back down the gravel path, he wanted to go see the market, Ponk had said around it that there was shops, that he should go visit some of them. As much as he was alone and definitely not use to this he did want to go and see things so he had began to just wander the streets. As much as he had no plan to where he was going he did pause at his name from a voice he didn't know and when he turned to see who it was he did recnoniginze who it was. Eret.

"Hi. Sorry if this seems odd but you've been wandering around and well you look lost so I thought I should come ask if you wanted me to give you a tour or something." The shorter said as they looked up at him.

"Oh uh yeah! That would be nice. Ponk's busy right noe so sure." Foolish said as he smiled brightly, Eret smiled in return and so that was how their tour began. Eret had lead him towards the center of the town gesturing to the large statue of a person in the middle, it was of a cloaked person, a person he recognised as one of the gods. DreamXD, his creator. Eret told him that this was the god most in the town followed under the church prime. Something he had heard about before a long time ago.

This was going well. Foolish nodded and did play off well that he knew little of who XD was. Then Eret lead him down the street pointing out the older buildings, the bank, the offices and such. There was more and more really it took them awhile but then after awhile maybe twenty minutes of them walking around talking and getting to know each other and he quickly talks to Eret. "I need to go, they've got to be done with lunch by now." He said as Eret nodded.

"Thats fine, we can continue later! Find me at the salon I showed you, the taliors next to it and thats where I work." They said, getting a small nod as they exchanged goodbyes and then Foolish headed back towards Ponk's parents house. He did looked over more of the forest and trees, the old trees were about his height and obviously well taken care of, the lemons were all riping. He also finally got to see the barn to, a much larger red building with a seemy circle roof. Then theirs also a window to it. Though he couldn't see in the window.

He didn't know if to just walk in or not so he knocked and Ponk answered the door, her giggles greeting him. "Perfect timing, foods ready." Ponk said, he couldn't pick up anything wrong as he entered. She lead him to the dining room and he did at least fit in the seat well. The food was some sandwhiches with chicken, lettuce, butter and zest mixed together. It tasted very good though compared to eating a raw lemon.

Like he had guessed really, that lemons would taste better with something else with it. He had been careful not to scarf it as much as he wanted to, it tasted great but manners, something Ponk had told him about and tried to help him with it. After eating Ponk had said she wanted to go hang out with people or go visit others and he decied to tag along with. This was going quite well, Foolish was happy that he had joined Ponk.

They headed to the blacksmith as he was told, a craft place for metals and weapons and similar things. It was warm and smelt like coal, he could see a new figure a tall person similar heights with the second figure who was Sam. The other the first had pink hair and was broad and such, a hybrid much like Sam. Or Puffy from earlier, he could see who he learned was Technoblade glancing at them as Sam and Ponk talked.

Though the man did glance at him as well a few times, though Foolish spent most of his time admiring the works around the place. Ponk soon said goodbye to Sam and lead Foolish somewhere else. "I want to visit Punz and Purpled, but that we can do tomorrow. Right now I want to bring you to a spot I love. Then we can go home and rest!"

Chapter Text

Ponk was very excited to see her parents again. She still was but once it was just her and her parents, Foolish off to explore it took a slight bit of a turn. That's when they truly started questions. "Are you sure hes safe?" Was the first one when she had first told them the whole story, the next question was "That seems to fast." It didn't seem so, it was a lot of months. She had left at the start of the year and it was nearly half of it now.

She had taken her parents questions the best she could, it bothered her a bit that they couldn't trust her judgement, Foolish was a lovely man. But it was fine, she wasn't going to tell her lover about it. He was already anxious around her parents, she didn't want to make it worse.

But it had been a long, long conversation. It had spanned over all of the cooking and only stopped when Foolish came back. She made sure to avoid the topic then took him out to go look around. She wanted to avoid Foolish getting pestered by her parents. They would ask too many questions and Foolish was going to get more nervous than he was, she had sure not brought it up yet but she could see it. Ponk had just be distracted, she was so excited to see her friends again that she hadn't noticed til the two had talked on their walk up to her parents house.

It was mostly from the sudden amount of new people, or as Foolish had said "What am I meant to say? This is all so new!" She could understand the others worry as they had travelled. So now they were home, or her parents. Foolish asleep next to her as she stared at the roof, thinking over her and her parents prior conversation, the small nagging voice that played in the back of her mind. The small nagging voice that had always came from her parents. They had been the same when she told them about her crush on Sam. Would they be like that if she had gotten with him? Probably.

Ponk did fall asleep but it was quite late and she hadn't slept well. Foolish had shook her awake "Ponkie! Do you hear that?" He asked, voice a whisper. She listened hearing the caw of the Rooster.

"A rooster love." Ponk mumbled as she moved to curl up again as Foolish nodded, moving to rest against her. Moving every so often before soon she turned to look to him as he moved again. "What wrong?" She asked, an eyebrow raised.

"I'm bored.. but I don't want to go out alone." Foolish mumbled as Ponk nodded and soon got up and dressed, decieding to take Foolish out for breakfast, leaving a note for her parents as they headed down towards the market. Sam had told her that a new bakery was out that did soup, bread and more for breakfast so she took them towards there.

The builsing looked brand new and shiny, it looked cozy and had a cottage vibe. Entering the building there was few there, Mr. Blade and Mr.Philza, Ranboo was talking to someone behind the counter. Another person with pink hair but this person was a girl most likely, they were small and looked very kind and soft and such. As Foolish and Ponk approached Ranboo skittered off towards Mr.Blade with a salad an odd breakfast choice in her mind as she looked to the other. They had a name tag with pronouns and her name. Niki.

"Hello! I'm Niki, what can I get for you?" Niki asked as Ponk looked up towards the menu. Foolish oblivously staring at the floor as Ponk spoke.

"Hi, can I get pancakes and honey please? He'll have bacon and eggs, also butter with that." Ponk said as Niki nodded. "I've not seen you around before." She added curious.

"Oh- ah yeah my girlfriend Puffy brought me back with her crew. Guess you're Ponk?" Niki said, which made sense, Puffy had talked about her having a girlfriend now which Ponk was very happy to her for as.

"Yes, yes I am. Hope Puffy's being saying good things then." Ponk joked getting a brighter smile from Niki the two continued to talk for a bit before she dipped to the back to get the pair of them breakfast once the pair had them they moved to sit at one of the tables in the building.

Foolish had scarfed his food as Ponk slowly ate his own. Not wanting to choke on her food as she watchrd Foolish, as much as he did what he normally did which was get in mostly all over his face. Ponk giggling at Foolish's raise of an eyebrow. "Wha'?" Foolish said around a mouthful of food. She huffed playfully.

"Nothing Foolish, just enjoying the sight." Ponk said as she found what she was looking for a napkin and soon giving it too Foolish so he could clean up his face. He had stolen a few of her pancakes and her, his eggs. Which was common enough. They had said goodbye to Niki before heading towards Punz's, she very much wanted to visit him and Purpled. Foolish was mostly coming along because he wanted to see more of the place.

The area the two lived in was an old place, a shabby one. Ponk knocked on the door it echoed through the house. They could hear a shout and a sudden amount of movement and soon an old friend answered the door. Punz.

The man had grown his hair out and was in a new outfit. A white hoodie with jeans and a lot of jewellery. A gold chain hanging from around his neck alongside a lot of rings. Also a few gold Piercings a pair in his ears. Though Ponk could see the shock for a second before she was tackled into a hug. Which only ended up with her and Punz falling into Foolish who just stumbled.

"Ponk! Its been awhile!" Punz said as he steadied them hands on their shoulders as he began to usher the pair into his house. "Come in, come in. Though uhh you gotta introduce me to the giant." Punz hummed tone joking as he lead Ponk and Foolish into the house. Ponk could see Purpled definitely wasn't in or the kid would be resting on the couch or something similar.

"Oh- this is Foolish. Foolish this is Punz." She said as Punz lead them to the couch, her taking her normal spot and getting Foolish to sit next to him. Punz taking the arm chair, it felt like old times. When they'd all hangout with each other, or well when Ponk and Punz would. Foolish was new to the equation.

"Foolish? Odd name but I can't say much my brother's name is Purpled." Punz said with a snort as Foolish blinked akwardly sitting there. Ponk giggled a bit moving her hand to hold Foolish's.

"How is Purpled?" Ponk asked, that was the full start to the conversation. It slipping in a comfortable one, Foolish adding small bits in by questions and slowly learning more about Punz and also hearing more about Purpled. Ponk saided he'd probably met the kid sooner or later, the kid was always doing something, normally getitng into some form of trouble with his friends. Foolish learned that these friends names were Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo. Also sometimes a kid named Eryn but the kid seemed more Tommy's friend, also that Purpled and Tommy had some form of rivalry?

It was all so new and Foolish was enjoying getting to know Ponk's friends. It was great! Getting to learn more about places and stories beyond the island. Though after awhile Punz did say that he needed to go so Ponk said that the pair would go visit other places. Maybe go see Puffy and her ship. So once they were outside Ponk began to lead them towards the docks. "Puffy lives in her ship, since shes a pirate." Ponk explained as they walked.

The dock was very busy, Foolish was careful not to accidentally walk into anyone as they soon reached the ship, it was huge. Though the flag looked less intimidating than he had heard Pirates were meant to be. It was a duck with a pirate hat. Ponk told him the ship was called the Duckling. Soon finding their way on they could see that stuff was being moved about, crates of supplies and Puffy. The sheep hybrid from before was ordering small things about. Niki was off to the side with a grey looking person, Foolish took note that they lacked hair.

He also noticed three others off to the side a boy in a purple hoodie with an extra pair of eyes helping a much taller lankier looking boy moving a box with an adult about the same height as the latter boy telling them were to put it, the adult had pure white eyes and also pure black skin with horns and a tail. Foolish had zoned out enough to bump into Ponk as Puffy noticed them pausing her orders. "Ponk! Foolish! Hello! What can I help you with?" Puffy asked as Ponk greeted her.

"Nothing really, we just came to visit though you look busy." Ponk said getting a small chuckle from Puffy. As she shrugged.

"Always busy with this lot. Niki told me yous already met ealier and you already know Ranboo and Purpled." Puffy said as she pointed to the people, Niki who was stood next to the bald man and Ranboo and Purpled were the kids. "Though you're yet to meet Jack and Bad. Picked them both up from the same village as Niki." Puffy added, Ponk nodding as she looked at the people.

"Well it'll be great to meet them, sooner or later. Do yous plan to leave soon?" Ponk asked, it would be sad to see them leave so soon, it had only been a day afterall but he understood why they would since they would have jobs to get done and all.

Puffy hummed knowingly "We're leaving in two days. Don't worry, we have time to hangout. Yous two should join me and Eret tomorrow, we planned to hangout anyhow." She suggested, Ponk nodding. Foolish would agree anyhow, he had talked to Eret for a long while anyhow. They seemed quite nice and he wanted to get to know Puffy as well so that was their plan for Tomorrow.

"Its nice to see that everyones doing well, espically to know you got a partner. Since it means I'm not the only one now." Ponk joked, in reference to her and Foolish dating, Puffy nodded a bit suprised for a second.

"I didn’t realise you's two we're dating but then again it makes sense. Hope you're parents like him, if you want their blessin'." Puffy said as she jokingly punched Ponk's shoulder, it didn't seem to hurt Ponk so he guessed it was fine.

"Yeah they like him don't worry, how did you and Niki meet?" Ponk asked which had started the long story of how the two had met. Niki had use to run an inn and so when they were there visiting for a job Puffy and her crew had gone there for breakfast, where the two had conversations daily, growing closer and closer. At least til they had to leave were Niki asked if she could come along. Jack and Bad were different stories.

They stood around talking til it was late, so Ponk had to bring them home for dinner saying otherwise her parents would worry and that they didn't want that so now they had went home ate and then went to sleep, both excited for the next day.

Chapter Text

They morning had been uneventful for Ponk at least. They had went off to help with the orchard leaving Foolish with their parents for a bit. That had went fine other than the akward conversation and looks he kept getting but that went fine it was til they got to the cafe or left for it, Ponk decied to help Foolish style his hair, it worked well. That was fine. The issue was that Foolish hadn't expected the place to be so crowded, he felt too tall, to big, tail cramped all that. The seat was not made for a person his height. But the talking was nice.

"Oh their lovely kids, but we all knew that. They've been helping about from my leave tomorrow. How about yous? When do yous plan to leave?" Puffy asked, herself just had a tea and looked the most comfortable of them all.

"The end of the week, two days. Though tomorrow I think we'll send you off then hang out at our old spots. I want to show Foolish around a bit more, then we pack and leave by weeks end. I will visit again." Ponk said, she had some muffins, her own ones in a way. Plain muffins with some zest rubbed in.

"Well its great too have seen you again, and to meet Foolish." Puffy said nodding to him as he zoned back into the conversation, he had been more than distracted.

"You should visit Eret's new friend. His names Wilbur, hes got a kid named Fundy." Puffy added as Eret nodded. Putting their drink down.

"Definitely, I think you's would get along." Eret said as she gave a small thoughtful nod as she drank her dark coffee, it only having some cream as a sweeter.

"Where does he live?" Ponk asked, curious as Eret soon wrote an address down and gave it too Ponk. "River street, alright. Not far." Ponk added as she noted that they could do that later.

Ponk looked to Eret as they decied to change the topic. "How's the shop going?" She asked as Eret smiled.

"Well, a lot of people have been coming into the tailor shop. Gets good pay for when people, often nobles are to busy to make their own clothes." Eret said as she chuckled lightly to herself before gesturing to Foolish. "I can tailor him something if you want." She joked.

Though it confused Foolish, Ponk seemed to blow it off from him, soon Puffy had to go and Eret as well so Ponk and Foolish went towards Wilbur's house, this wasn't anyone Ponk had talked about or met it seemed as they approached the others house as Ponk gentle knocked on the door as soon, a scruffy looking man answered. The man had long brunette hair, a scruffy peach fuzz on his chin with a ragged overcoat alongside some shirt and sweats.

"Hello! Wilbur right? Eret told me of you." Ponk said as Wilbur raised an eyebrow suspiously for a second as he looked both Ponk and Foolish up and down before noding slowly as he looked back towards Ponk.

"And yous are?" Wilbur asked as Ponk gave a small nod before promptly introducing them, gesturing to Foolish. "That's Foolish my partner." Ponk said before gesturing to herself "And I'm Ponk." Wilbur seemed to recnoniginze the name, Ponk's at least.

"Come in, I'll assume Foolish is also new to the area." Wilbur chuckled as they were lead in, soon being lead to the living room as Wilbur took Ponk to the kitchen so they could all get drinks while Foolish was left in the living room with Fundy. Wilbur's son, the boy was five. But seemed curious and soon had Foolish helping him make a tower with blocks, the kid seemed to be beaming as the two played as soon Wilbur and Ponk came back with a tray, coffee and tea.

"It looks like you and Fundy get a long." Wilbur said as he sat down as Ponk followed. The two getting to know each other as Foolish continued to play with Fundy, the kid seems to have a lot of energy as the kid talked a lot, he was only half able to listen as Fundy continued to get Foolish's help to balance the stack. "Thank you mister!" Fundy beamed as the kid looked at the finshed tower before Foolish prompt ruffled the kid's hair. "No problem kid." Foolish said as he moved to sit on the couch.

They did stay awhile longer but Foolish was more thinking about how nice it had been playing with Fundy, so had asked Ponk a question on if they had a library in his village which they did, Ponk left him to his hunt for books. He wasn’t sure which to find so he grabbed stuff on parenting. The interaction had with Fundy had peeked his curiousity on well parenting. The god was curious now on raising a kid, so he was looking into it. It seemed to be a hard god but that’d be fine, especially since he was sure godly children were different in ways to mortal ones.

He’d also have to talk to Ponk about it the books recommended. He also had his plan to well make his children, totems. He planned to use some magic to bring some totems to life as he nor Ponk could do it the way mortals did. He just needed to talk to Ponk, plus figure it all out. Though first he’d talk to Ponk when they went home to his island.

Chapter Text

They had been home for the day by then, back at the island. Relaxing and adjusting back to life there, though Foolish had began to pour his time into reading, poured his time into finding out about parenthood he could. Which was a lot and with a little bit of questioning he had also learned that he could bring totems, the ones he carved alive! Now all he needed to do was talk to Ponk.

So that was where it went. He had convinced Ponk with them taking a month or two to think on it but they had eventually agreed and so with the help of Ponk they had gotten a bath set up and he had used some of his magic to make a totem live putting it in the water so it coulr grow as he watched over the kid or Ponk did while the other worked on making things such as the nursery for the baby. It took a few months but soon the totem was more shark like, more humaniod much like Foolish.

It was how life was by then, a full family. Foolish was quite happy with it and Ponk as much as this hadn't been there plan felt satisfied with where fate had taken them.
