When Yoongi reluctantly awoke, his ears were met with the reassuring sound of rain pounding against his window. "At least now I've got an excuse to do nothing today.", he groaned. The teenager rubbed the last bit of sleep from his eyes as he woke up his laptop. He couldn't even remember when he had fallen asleep last night, or what he was even doing before he'd closed his eyes. Yoongi typed in his password and his computer began to resume its last session. Oh yeah, that's what he was doing. Last night he'd posted another poem, and while he was waiting for responses he was browsing his favorite blog. It was so completely out of character for him to like let alone, consider it to be his favorite. The blog only updated maybe three times a week and Yoongi figured that maybe some people actually had lives. He had started following them ironically a couple of months ago, when it had popped up as a recommended blog despite containing the complete opposite content of his own. But after following them for a little while, the teenager found himself genuinely loving the blog, which was mostly due to it’s owner than the blog’s posts. It was almost like following sunshine incarnate. The blogger almost exclusively posted so-called friendly reminders and self care tips, cute and pretty pictures of nature, and baby animals, and sometimes the blogger posted a small journal entry under a readmore. As cheesy as the whole thing was, Yoongi had now gotten to the point where he couldn't stop himself from checking for updates everyday. On days when there are no new blog posts the young poet finds himself rereading the blogger's about me page as if it might say something new this time. But as always it reads:

Just like that, tumblr user keephopeinyourlife had easily become his guiltiest pleasure. Yoongi had no business even following such a cute blog, but he'd been charmed by Hoseok. The idea that someone so positive even existed had never even crossed his mind before, but he was glad he'd found them, even if they had no idea who he was. The poet just enjoyed knowing that there was a person who genuinely cared about someone besides themselves, even people they’d never meet in their life. The teenager might not admit it but he definitely had a crush on Hoseok. Yoongi let out a sigh and closed the tab, going back to his own blog to check the notes on last night's post. A couple hundred, not too bad, but not as good as it could be. He made a mental note to work harder. Then he noticed that he had a message, that was new. Sure he had a little more than ten thousand followers but, no one ever talked to him. Yoongi had half expected it to be some sort of spam message when he clicked the notification. He was a little shocked when he read it.

But I noticed that all of your poems while moving and well written, are very negative. "... very negative? ", Yoongi mumbled to himself, bothered by the fact that someone wasn't satisfied with his work. Maybe he could try to venture out into another tone. What's an artist without some versatility? The teenager took in a deep breath, and began to compose a fan mail back to the person who prompted him. How hard could a romantic poem be?
"I know nothing at all about romance.", was his epiphany after staring blankly at his laptop for almost an hour. Yoongi couldn't actually remember a time when he had strong romantic feelings toward anyone. Honestly, the current object of his affections was most likely his laptop. He pouted, resting his head in his hand before finally sighing and trying to guide his mind to think more positive thoughts. The first thing to pop into his head was Hoseok’s blog. The poet threaded a hand through his hair. He could use Hoseok as his inspiration, he’d never know anyways. After a half hour, Yoongi finally had something he could be semi-proud of.
How can a person be like this?
I start to feel like I’m the only one living in this world

I never believed that there was a god

The teenager smiled and typed in the other’s url by memory and quickly clicked send. Then he replied to the original ask:
‘I’m sorry if you were dissatisfied with my work, I sent you a poem to meet your prompt.
Thank you so much for reading. ‘
Yoongi let out another sigh as a feeling of accomplishment washed over him. The pride made him sit up a little straighter on his bed. A few minutes later he got a reply.

They didn’t get his fan mail? It said that it sent, his internet had been working fine lately and tumblr hadn’t eaten his asks in so long it seemed quite unlikely. Yoongi checked his outbox and squinted at the fan mail, everything was right, right? The poet checked the url he sent it to and froze.
“No way..”, he breathed as he read ‘keephopeinyourlife’ instead of ‘keephopealive’. “SHIT! No no no no no no no. Please tell me I’m not seeing this right.”, Yoongi pleaded with his screen and rubbed his eyes trying to get the image to change. “Shit shit shit. God damn it!”, he swore, embarrassment practically swallowing him whole. “..Perfect.”, he sighed. Not only had he sent this romantic poem to the wrong person, but he’d sent it to the very person who inspired it. Hoseok. For a split second he considered deleting his entire blog and maybe just restarting from scratch but that required way too much effort on his part. Yoongi groaned and fell backwards on his bed, wishing for some higher power he wasn’t too confident in would take pity and smite him right there. Well maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, maybe tumblr actually did eat his message. And if not, the poet figured that Hoseok’s blog was very popular, he probably drowned in messages everyday. Yoongi just assumed that his poem probably got lost among all of those messages.
His assumption was wrong.
One entire week later, Yoongi was almost positive the whole thing had blown over. Until he got a notification. A reply fanmail from keephopeinyourlife. Instead of reading it the poet wishes for a quick and painless death. Really just anything but this. But, curiosity gets the better of him and he can’t help himself in the end.

I didn’t actually go on tumblr until right now.. but, I just, I don’t know what to say. I mean I’m
a big fan of your poetry and I’ve never read one of yours like that before!!! And
I can’t help but notice that you didn’t post that one. Was it really meant for me? I
mean I keep thinking it is but it’s probably not. I mean we’ve never talked
before, but it was so beautiful, it made my heart flutter. Either way thank you

Yoongi couldn’t believe what he had just read. Hoseok was a fan of his? The poem made Hoseok’s heart flutter? The poet reread the message over and over, as if he was revising one of his own works.
He was in awe.
