Chapter 1: Mad mandalorian monarch
Chapter Text
A monarch is a head of state for life or until abdication, and therefore the head of state of a monarchy. A monarch may exercise the highest authority and power in the state, or others may wield that power on behalf of the monarch. Usually a monarch either personally inherits the lawful right to exercise the state's sovereign rights (often referred to as the throne or the crown ) or is selected by an established process from a family or cohort eligible to provide the nation's monarch. Alternatively, an individual may proclaim themself monarch, which may be backed and legitimated through acclamation, right of conquest, or a combination of means.
Monarch butterflies have nothing to do with monarchs that's for sure. But those insects always had something that reminded her of her own life. The only thing that made those butterflies stand out might be the fact that they are poisonous. Not enough to harm humans on earth, but in the universe where she herself wasn't just a human anymore, this cyanide that they had would bring men to their knees.
Earthlings weren't poisonous so that didn't remind her of herself. The fact that those beautiful things often chose to fly 4,345 kilometers to breed. And never return to their birthplace. Why they did do it on the journey to the unknown? She didn't remember. She herself liked to think it was for hope of a better future.
But the reason she kept one as her symbol? The meaning they held for leadership and excellence when it comes to money and career matters it was one of the tales captured in the wings of the creature. It was a tragedy that she happened to forget the other meanings they held.
She left her sheltered home for a Mandalorian a warrior of fiction. Knowing that she would never return home. A one-way voyage. She had a secure job as a governess or so she liked to think. She stumbled on him on one of her hunting trips.
Her dogs Kamu and Rakki were going crazy. Karelian bear hound doesn't feel any fear towards anything or at least they don't show it. The barking had that edge. The edge that told of the utter terror of the hounds. Their terror became hers.
It must be a bear, a big one.
She clicked the safety off before sprinting in the direction of the sounds. She knew that she shouldn't do it like that, but the closest thing to her was her dogs. Her children.
I shouldn't have let them wander so far.
The twigs snapped under her heavy boots.
Please god, don't let anything happen to them!
The adrenaline raised her blood pressure to roar in her ears.
A yelp could be heard and she saw red.
"OI!" She roared. As she burst through the willow bush to see what her hounds were barking at. And what she saw was like straight from a movie.
A blue armored was threatening her dogs with a vibrating dildo and a weird-looking gun. Was he lost or something? She couldn't remember any cons being kept in this rural area. Was he filming a youtube video?
Kapo snapped at his feet and got a swipe of the vibrating silver dildo. "Kamu NO? Jätä se! Hyi poika hyi!"(Kamu well? Leave it! Shame boy shame!) She commanded Kamu, who jumped a half meter in the air. Clearly spooked by her. Rakki being the wiser one reacted to Kamu's retribution and slinked to her legs. Fur still bristled and growling vigorously.
"Mitä teille tuli?"(What has gotten into you?) She questioned them.
Her dogs hadn't ever been one to attack humans only threaded them with barks and jumps. Snappin' the safety back she slung the rifle back to her back. Before gripping them by the collar.
"Kävikö kuinkaan?"(Did anything happen?) She asked the stranger.
She didn't look at him, more focused on the black and white of the coats of her dogs. Rakki glanced at her. There was blood on her snout. Bleeding from a hairless slit on her nose.
The stranger had hurt her dog. She saw red.
"Perkeleen friikki! Miten vitussa sä kehtaat tulla mun maille ja piestä mun koirat?" (Perkeless freak! How do you dare to come in my lands and beat my dogs?) She fuumed ready to give the man same treament he gave her dogs.
The freak raised his gun at her, but there was clear confusion in his stance. He didn't react to her yelling. "Umm speak basic?" The distorted voice asked her angering her even further.
Tourists. Kamu lunged against his collar.
"Yes I speak English, and I asked how you dare to come to my land and hurt my dogs!" She said while sizzling with anger. Not yelling anymore but hissing between her teeth.
"That happened to be the reason why I didn't shoot them at sight." He hissed back at her. "And why I am here? Well, my ship crashed and requires repairs."
Oh hell Nah. A ship on land means that this person might be high. Like he was clearly lost in more ways than one.
"Your ship?" She asked sarcastically "There are no waters like that for hundreds of kilometers."
"Yes, my space ship." The lunatic said like it was obvious.
"Haha. You gotta be kidding me."
Paz Vizsla's vision was overridden with strange orange butterflies. There were banners, paintings, murals, jewelry, and clothing decorated with them. The black lines decorated the wings of the insect. He hadn't seen a creature like that before and knew they weren't here when he last visited decades ago.
The young human man drove the speeder to their destination. He was tense and didn't want to draw this much attention to the once imperial-controlled city. But he didn't have a choice his tribesmen were injured. The medical treatment he sought for them led to this. The medics were eager to treat them, but the moment they were treated they were informed of the move.
They wanted to move them to the Perho-palace. It was an imperial build, but it had been modified to a point of almost no recognition. He took a deep breath the exhaustion of the Nevarro fight and the tress for his covert was getting to him or those who were left of them.
He had hoped he could have hidden the children on his ship. Or well in the permanently borrowed ship. Manda wasn't on his side when a thunderous Wookie demanded them to go to the Perho-palace the moment he caught the scent of those children. So, they went.
The oldest child of the punch put his hand to his pauldron and gave him a nod. He wasn't fully grown yet he only had leather armor on him, but he was still trying to assure Paz of his readiness to face whatever was waiting for them. Paz gave him a nod back and glanced at what he had left.
Five younglings and six warriors if he wasn't counted. Many of them are in critical state chest plates off and hooked on the machines attached to the floating cots.
Paz didn't want to admit it but he was kriffing scared, but not for himself. He was still conscious he could move and defend himself they couldn't. Their life, their future, and their creed were in his hands. His gloved, calloused, and bloody hands.
Paz had guarded his brethren over the treatment, but now he might have to leave them to handle the monarch of Perho-palace. When the medics forced their treatment on them they told him that it was from the monarch of Perho.
They had switched the planet's name to Perho... For their new monarch. Paz was scared of who could make, so big waves in sucks a short time.
"Sir? We are here." The boy informed over his shoulder. Exhaling he rose. "Nobody touches their armor got them in that way or right?" Paz asked the foundling.
He gave him a mock salute "Elek alor!"(Yes, leader!) Viszla clapped him on the shoulder before exiting the vehicle.
Whatever they had made to this place was amazing. The place had gained windows whit iron blinds. Double gates and two extra wings. The walls had those butterflies painted on light blue walls. White edges highlight the magnificent Perho-palace. Guards wearing old, black and white painted stormtrooper armor ushered them in. Two beasts with black and white fur and gleaming eyes watched them at their pedestrian on both sides of the gate.
He didn't give any more glances to his people. he had to give his all to deal with this monarch of planet Perho.
The Mandalorian was led down on the lower and lower. He was almost sure this was going to be an ambush, but then the darkness gave way to light.
Doors opened to a vide hall with pillars a new addition must likely. The guards didn't give a verbal warning to their leader. They didn't need to. The moment they stepped into the room. A giant storm of those butterflies flies up from the pillars. It reminded him of living wildfire.
"What do you want?" Asked the distorted woman's voice.
Paz didn't answer that for the voice and the mystical moment reminded him of the armorer. Fire switched for butterflies. The hum of the forge for the flapping of wings and running of water.
"You wanted us here," Paz stated when the storm started to settle back to every surface of the room.
Plants of many kinds were sitting on their movable pots between the pillars barely noticeable due to the cover of wings. On the left side of the hall went a lazy stream of water. Could have been barely called stream so low it was.
"Yes, ill help when I can. But why did you come to this planet." The voice called boredly.
"We were chased off our own." Paz grumbled to her "By the empire."
"Is that so? Let me guess. Now you want me to help you take it back. Do you want weapons, ships, supplies, and lives? Am I correct?" The voice was now impatient.
"What? No, I just want my people to be safe!" He growled at her.
Bang! A fist hit a wood.
The butterflies flew off the person who they were hiding.
Paz Viszla was floored for in the back of the hall behind a wooden desk stood another Mandalorian.
She was wearing an ill-fitted man's armor painted the same blue as the walls. On her left breastplate was she carried the same butterfly he had gotten familiar with.
"Haha! So, you want that! Well too bad for you I am not yielding on my decision!" She roared. The rest of the butterflies fled from her.
Paz didn't know what to say to her. He just swallowed nothing had prepared him to face a mad Mandalorian monarch.
Chapter 2: How I have been here before?
Summary:
Reader starts to realize she had returned to a time before she had awakened.
Chapter Text
There was silence in the car as they drove. Seeing a real spaceship and realizing that the vibrating dildo was an upgraded knife was a humbling experience. Most of her fight had left her. She felt like one of her hounds would look when she scolded them.
She often was compared to a Karelian bear hound in nature, she was courageous, cunning, and cautious. Or as people who truly knew her put it. A stubborn hypocritical bitch. She had to admit they might be true. For like a dog, the moment a bigger and badder mutt came around she folded like she never was trying to be the biggest and the baddest of the punch. It made her not be the resonant woman she always swore to be.
"So, there isn't any intergalactic traveling?" The tin can asked. His voice made Kamu put his front end between their seats. Her dog wasn't happy about being forced into the back seat.
"No, I already said so." A growl of her hounds accompanied her. She felt embraced by her actions earlier. Her dogs were the ones that attacked, but she still was ready to kill him even if he only used violence as self-defense.
She didn't like him for their first meeting was about her being a bitch, an unreasonable woman. It was rare someone could make her act like that nowadays. Usually, she was more put together, like a future governor like her should be.
Taking a deep breath she lamented under her breath "I will help you but you must keep a low profile while being here. Most people don't even believe there is life outside this planet. So, if they figure out of your existence would most likely cause a worldwide riot." Something like that would bank my plans entirely.
The rumbling of the engine was the only voice that filled the silence after that. She hoped the inheritance of her grandfather would cover the expense of fixing the ship and finding snowmobile gear for the mando to hide him.
It frustrated her to no end. No name. No face. No nothing! I am helping him and this is what I get. Nothing! How he can be like that and still trust help from her! Her knuckles turned white on the steering wheel. Breath.
Think about the waves that won't be reaching the masses.
Kamu's white false yes over his real eyes glared at her in the darkening world. Winter came this year too early for me.
"What decision! I couldn't have made any demands for you to have dictated everything we have been doing on this planet! Your "Highness", I didn't want to come before you. But you forced me here. You took my remaining tribe as a hostage!" Paz yelled at other Mandalorian.
Muscles are ready to spring at any moment. He couldn't fathom why one of his own was like this.
"HOSTAGE! Hostage! Hostage. Hostage?" Her voice turned from a demand to a quivering question.
She stepped around the desk and almost like in a dream made her way in front of him and whispered "I didn't take no hostages. I was informed of more Mandalorians docking in my dockyard. I was going to drive you all from my planet, but there were children. For the honor of carrying this armor, I won't turn around children in need."
"But you would still be driving other Mandalorians out? What kinda warrior are you? A real one wouldn't cower like this while others have to fight for their lives" He hissed back still the new adrenaline wave making it impossible to turn his voice any lower.
"A warrior who has been asked to give everything for a cause who she doesn't have faith in. A warrior whose life has been tried to destroy by greedy ones that stumble around her haven and expect to be given all that they want. I am not the type to fight on a battlefield like you..." Her voice disappeared entirely at the end like she realized something or saw something behind him.
He glanced behind him. Two of the guards had stayed behind. Another wookie was revealed under the helmet. The other didn't remove theirs and was much smaller than the other. Paz took note of the guards. They moved in pairs. One had more white and the other more black. The coloration was the same as the animal statues at the beginning.
The wookie growled at him.
Ping
His helmet informed him that someone was nearing him. His muscles protested their usage. But he whipped his focus back on the monarch who was near enough to be at arms reach. She had a light step, but she wasn't lightly built. She was taller than most of the women he had met and carried herself confidently.
She was looking at him like she just saw him. His helmet registered talk but not the meaning behind them. They gazed into each other vizors for what felt like an eternity.
"Monarch? All the Mandalorians are stable or have been checked. The staff would want to know where to place them?" The still-helmeted guard asked timidly.
The monarch flinched and returned to this world. "Mandalorians will be placed down-under."
"Down-under. Sir?"
"Yes. In my wing. Stock the guarders too, please. They will be staying whit us for a while. Take this one with you and tell the chef that I will not be eating dinner tonight."
"Yes, Monarch. I will see to it." He said and turned to leave with the wookie who openly glared at Paz who just was given a whiplash from Monarch's change of hearts.
"Go on. I promise you my aid, and I will not go back on my words." The other blue one assured him before turning her back on him and disappearing again in the storm of orange wings. Paz didn't move immediately not after his life's most confusing exchange.
The wookie's roar got movement to his muscles. He would have to leave figuring this out for later. Now he had more important things to do. Paz hoped the youngling hadn't faced any trouble and all his people were okay as the guard had said.
What the hell was that? What is wrong with me? He isn't my Riduur no he isn't, but why am I feeling like this? Confused and lost with a side serving of deja vu.
She paced around in her ruling room. Butterflies hurried to form her way as marched around like a caged animal. She was feeling restless like there was something off.
She needed to move.
Jogging to one of the emergency exits she started to climb up. Up from the bowels of her palace. Slinking off into the darkness outside the palace she stopped when she saw the glass butterflies. Their magnificent wings rested orange glow to her armor.
Something was drawn under the window. A crooked butterfly and stick figures. Mandalorians in blue armor and dogs in black and white next to them. The drawing was like straight from her own art book when she was asked to draw her future all those years ago.
Like when she still was on earth...
Chapter 3: First positive contact
Chapter Text
Dealing with "Mando" was annoying. He got lots of stupid rules and he acted like he was from a cult. Which he probably came from. A cult in which gods were weapons in her house. Fan-Fucking-tastic. These little gods were a problem. Not for her, but for her babies Rakki and Kamu.
They hated Mando and even one sudden movement and the Karrelian hounds showed off their famous bark and did their best to try and maul mando. For starters it was funny, but after a month of it, she was sick and tired of it.
When she had tried to get him to remove the armor to even familiarise the dogs with him he had refused and stated "It is the way". She might have let it go but the fucker dared right after it to comment on the taste of her food. He called it tasteless. HE FUCKING INSULTED MY FOOD.
She was ready to snap his neck at that. My food is phenomenal and it always had been that way. Period.
And all that didn't even cover the fact that our routines didn't fit together.
He would wake up in the asscrack of dawn and the dogs would go ballistic. Waking her up. Then they would sit awkwardly together and she would drink her coffee while he would either show her the plans to fix the ship or do maintenance on some of his gadgets.
Then she would leave for work and leave him near his ship. After getting off from work she would get him and drive home to get her dogs and go on a long walk while he STALKED HER, ON HER OWN ROOOF!
Come home to cook some dinner while he tried to get her to use spices she didn't have. And then watch him show things on the hologram while she ate. After that, she spend a ton of money to try and bye anything that looked even remotely helpful for the mando and then go to sleep while he tried to figure out how to cross the hallway whit out getting bitten by Kamu.
Rinse and repeat for a month. Breathe in and breathe out. She was doing this for a reason. She would get to be the top dog. She would be the leader of this nation. This was only training her nerves.
Now that I think Mando might have insomnia for he was awake before me and went to sleep after me if he ever slept. Maybe that's why he was so standoffish all the time. He was falling asleep while standing.
But waking up today was different. She wasn't woken up. She woke up by herself. That was scary as hell. Her upstairs bedroom was quiet and empty. The light shined through her window. It was day already.
She quickly got up and tip-toed downs stairs to try and hear anything suspicious.
Maybe Mando the maniac had had had enough and killed her dogs!
A growl pierced the air when she was about to round the corner to her kitchen. She froze.
"No Kamu, No. Be patient son." The growl quieted down and the impatient whine of Rakki replaced it. "Rakki we have talked about this. You be nice and I'll be nice to you." Mando spoke gently to her babies.
I peeked at the room.
My hate melted down.
There he was. Kneeling on the carpet in front of them. His gloves were off as he gently patted them. The dogs were liking it so much that when Mando stopped patting them Kamu started to growl and demand more pets and Rakki nudged the still-out stretched hand with her wide head.
WTF was happening to my dogs?
Paz Viszla was confused. Not only his covert members had been healed they had been fed like kings. He had heard them praise the food and they were right. It was special the food he meant. It was spicy as hell and reminded Paz of some Mandalorian dishes and there was plenty to go around.
Paz couldn't remember a time that his covert wasn't as well taken care of, but for some reason. Every time the food was brought to the heavily fortified Down-under he couldn't help but feel like a Batha being fattened up for slaughter.
It didn't help that the Monarch who had helped them hadn't been sighted for days. Not since she had granted them refuge.
Paz knew that they were safe as they could be, but still, he couldn't leave his healing brethren to find Monarch. He had tried to ask one of the guards that brought everything to their door but he got a curt answer.
"Monarch sees whoever she wants and when she wants. She knows you are here so she will talk to you when it is time for that."
That didn't help him as he paced around the spacious quarters.
"Just go and find her if it bugs you so much." Encouraged the orange female who lounged on the couch under a heated planked. She was healing and took full advantage of their situation.
"You didn't meet her then. She was mad. You should have heard what she said! There had been other Mandalorians! They had needed her help! She refused. Like she almost did with us. How can one be a Mandalorian if they don't help their own?" He sheeted and hit the wall near the door in his rage.
"You know that it doesn't mean anything. Right? You don't know the reason why she rejected them. She is the alor of this palace this whole planet and because of that she doesn't need to respond to anyone." She said like it was the end of the conversation.
To Paz, it wasn't.
"That still doesn't explain how she can claim herself as a mandalorian when she doesn't-"
"You should go now." Olugra the orange-armored woman interrupted him. "You have been cooped up o these quarters for way too long. We aren't in Nevarro anymore you are free to go."
"Eah, alor you should go." Called the wavering voice of the youngling who had been in charge since coming here. Kimu flinched when Paz's helmet turned to him, but he held his ground. "Olugra is right. You are getting restless in here."
Rolling his shoulders Paz turned to the door and slammed the keypad to open it.
"I'll be back in an hour. If anything comes up com me immediately." And Paz was off.
Marching thought up the stairs he came up with a problem. The levels over the Down-under were one big mace.
Stairs going nowhere. Dead-end corridors. Elevators whit strange manual locks. Doors that opened with hinges on their side with flaps in the middle of them were too low and small for most species to use. And that even didn't count all the butterflies or the strange language. They were everywhere.
He wasn't one to stop and ask questions. So despite the staff giving him looks he didn't ask for directions. Stopping in front of another pair of the stone beasts like ones in the entrance he huffed and set his palm on one of their heads.
He let his mind wander.
A confused voice came from behind him and returned his thoughts to their place.
"Sini, oletko se sinä?" (Blue, Is that you?)
She was floored. After all those years Sini was back. All those years she had spent waiting were now over for there he was petting Rakki's head they were back at her kitchen on Earth.
but then...
Sini spoke to her.
With a voice that didn't belong to Sini.
"Excuse me?"
and the illusion was broken. They weren't in her kitchen but in the dark corridor of her palace. He wasn't Sini, but the Mandalorian she had granted refuge. He wasn't even petting Rakki for she had been dead for the last seven years.
"Rakki"
He looked at her with a confused head tilt removing his hand from the head of the statue of Rakki.
"The dog's name is Rakki. It means mutt." She walked closer deciding to
"He doesn't look like an akk dog, He looks more like a Vulptices." Blue crossed his arms looking like he was taking offense that she tried to
"Because she isn't an akk dog. She is a Karelian bear hound." She felt her hackles rising up again. She didn't like being challenged on her own territory.
"I haven't heard of them," Blue admitted and took a step back from the statue pressing his helm toward his chest.
"They are native to my planet. We used them to pull sleds, guard houses, and hunt bigger games. The other one is Kamu which means buddy." She continued this time calmer.
"Karelia? I haven't heard of that either." He switched his position. He was now more curious than hostile.
It was good for her. Sharing information often made resulted in a response from the receiver and not only made them more open but also more likely to share information of their own.
She needed that.
She needed to know why they were really here. The empire was gone yet they claimed to run from it and just happened to stumble on her planet. In her capital city's main port.
It was likely they were using her soft spot for children to let them in and then get close to her so she would give them what they wanted.
She wouldn't allow that. She was going to hold her ground until Sini was back like he had promised.

Chapter 5: two roads
Chapter Text
After Mando had made peace with my dogs there seemed to be a shift in our dynamic. She felt less angry toward him... or maybe that was because she could get a full night of sleep instead of waking up when the dogs decided Mando was doing something which deserved death.
Like right now she even got to sleep on her couch the whole night. She had accidentally fallen asleep on it. Both Rakki and Kamu were sleeping on top of her and their familiar weight almost lulled her back to the feather islands.
But the lights were on and she made the mistake of looking at the clock. It read ten past nine. She had overslept.
She lunged up, Rakki flying off from my chest like a NATO missile. With a muffled oof, she hit the ground. She heard a mug dropping in the kitchen and heavy footsteps thundering in the living room.
Kamu who hadn't even risen his head now rose with bark to warn Mando that he will bite when he skidded into the room.
He brandished a butter knife as his weapon and generally looked around in a very confused manner. Maybe he had woken up late too? She opened her phone quickly ready to call her boss when She saw the weekday.
"On Lauantai." (Is Saturday) She sinks back to her sofa cushions.
"What happened?" Mando rasped and relaxed from his fighting stance.
"Nothing happened. I just woke up and noted it was Saturday."
"Saturday?"
Oh yeah, Mando doesn't know what seven day week is.
"The sixth of the seven-day week we have going on." He nodded, but she couldn't hold herself back from snarking at him "In what culture you don't have a week on it?"
"We Mandalorians do have a week, but it doesn't have seven days." Mando got offended and she was confused.
"Wait. Your race is Mandalorian, not your name?"
"Seriously?"
"Yes, I thought it was your name." He tilted that stupid bucked of his, and she pushed Kamu off her legs.
"You seriously let me call you by the name of your race for all this time?" She huffed and rose.
"Yes. Something wrong with that?"
"Yes." she huffed and turned away and started looking where my laptop had ended up "It is like naming Asian Asia or African descent Black."
He looked even more confused. It confused her even more that she could read the man so well. "Not a good thing. What's your name real name?"
A silent pause and Rakki shoved his head under her arm.
"All right then. It's again the religion?"
another pause and she turned towards him. How I hated religious people.
"If you aren't going to tell me your name, I am going to invent you one." She fixed him a hard stare and tried to come up with a name for him.
She had always been shitty when naming things even If she had an obsession with doing that. She would come up with good names, but not remember them, so she usually named them after describing them like Kamu who was her friend, or Rakki who wouldn't stop barking when she got in that state of mind.
Heck even her cabbing, car, and snowmobile had names that described them. Kivikulma(Rock side) the fishing hut that stood on a big rock. Murisia (growler) her car that always rumbled and her snowmobile Puna(Red) which happened to be red.
Wait he is blue... Well, now I got it.
"You shall be known as Sini from now on. Do you understand?"
"What?" He repeated like he didn't get that I re-named him.
"Well Sini, I think we have a conversation to be talked about," I informed him turning my attention away from what just happened.
"Huh?"
"I looked at the parts you need and I got bad news for you."
Paz grimaced internally at his stubbornness. The monarch had made a friendlies move towards him and he had been so surprised that he flung back to his normal defense of aggression.
Paz Viszla wasn't a diplomat and it showed. He was lost at his words and made a fool of himself. He knew he needed to defuse this situation, but with them both being tensed like strings of a bow he knew it wouldn't happen.
He took a step back to have space between them in case a fight would break out.
Monarch didn't close the distance. "Karelia isn't a planet it is a territory on a planet. Karelia used to belong to my peoples' territory, but it was lost to the other territory in war." There was a bitter edge in her tongue.
Clan wars? Paz thought but didn't dare to ask. Monarch seemed to be non-violent mood and he wasn't going to risk it to chance. Sadly for Paz Monarch had a chance of hearts and instead of getting lost in the past decided to stay in the present.
But like really strangely.
"Enought about unfortunately things like a past war. We need to focus in the presense. My servants told me your friends were healing well. I asume you will be leaving soon?"
Even though she wasn't outwardly hostile her question seemed like a threat or she was asking for a favor. Paz hoped it wasn't that for a real Mandalorian wouldn't corner her people like that.
"Once we are healed enough well leave or if we can contact others in my covert." Paz didn't even stop to think what he was about to say before that came out and according to his earlier experience whit Monarch, not thinking what you said to her was a mistake.
"So let me get this straight. You first come here running from an empire that doesn't exist. I shelter you and treat you. and you will call more of you to come here? Did you notice that this has begun to seem like a beginning of coup d'etat?" Monarch seemed to get enraged, by even a mention of more Mandalorians.
Paz was a warrior, he knew better than to start a fight whit a planet's ruler. But the fact that she was Mandalorian in power. A ruler. Someone who didn't need to hide. Her sigil was presented proudly and she didn't seem to be worried about any challenges to her.... Reing.
But...
She was a Mandalorian monarch... Her people looked up to the Mandalorians in general...
She took him as a challenger.
and despite Paz getting the honor of being the one she took so highly, he couldn't feel anything honorary about it. Not when she seemed to despise his people so openly.
"We are not trying to take advantage of your generosity." Paz tried to calmly explain but failed miserably as his natural want to scream and have a fistfight over it bled through.
"Then what are you doing?" Her blue helm was almost against his as she closed the distance between them. He could see his reflection on her visor in the dim lights of the hallway. Paz could see an orange butterfly whit a shredded wing clinging to her cape's collar.
I couldn't stop myself from using one of my favorite intimidation tactics on him. aka getting on people's faces. Sadly I seemed to have forgotten how big the person whose face I was getting on to was.
The back of my neck was pressing on the back plate of his armor as I looked up at the Mandalorian.
He didn't answer my question. The creaking of the leather and the crackle of heavy breathing through the vocoder filled our world for a moment.
I should have felt some sort of fear towards him. I was well aware of if this scene turned into one where blood was dug from another's nose I knew myself being the ragdoll in that situation. Still, I did not feel any fear as I tantalized him further.
"Monarch. Your guests are here, Sir." A familiar voice of one of the palace guards came behind me.
I slowly turned around to notice pair of guards standing in attention at the end of the hallway.
"Truly?" I awoke. I hadn't even noticed how the time had gone. It felt like only five minutes prior I had decided to take a break from my work and venture to take care of my dogs, his ship, and the rest of the armors.
Wich were stored behind this door...
"It seems our other quest has gotten lost. I would like him to be escorted back to his quarters." I felt confused but kept my voice steady as I dismissed him.
I motioned for the guard painted whit more black to be escorted to him. The one painted like Kamu followed after me. He was one of my first followers and he wasn't afraid to inquire after my welfare.
"Are you okay?" His thin voice asked as he shadowed me up toward my butterfly room.
"Another one of those days." I plucked an injured butterfly from the collar of my cape.
"You know. I think you should move on." He tried gently.
"And I keep waiting." I cradled the butterfly in my hand and let my pity be directed to it.
"It's been ten cycles already." We stopped in front of a door.
"Remember the saying from my home?" I asked while setting the butterfly on a young milkweed plant that one of the servants was moving near the door to take to the room when I had dealt whit my business there.
"No body, No proof?" He aspected quietly.
"No body, No death." I straightened my back and took hold of myself. I needed to lead now.
The pair of heavy metal doors opened whit a groan. Rising a wave of burning orange from every surface of my side of the hall. Wood scraped against the floor as the occupants of the room hurried up to stand before me.
"Monarch!"
"Your Highness!"
"Sir."
They welcomed me as I strode through the living red sea.
"I don't have time today for pleasantness. So cut to the chase and tell why have you invited yourself to my palace in the mid harvest?" I demanded without missing a beat and sat down in my chair on the end of the table that was brought in the middle of my hall.
