Roxie had been touch starved for a while.
Somewhere deep down in her narcissism, she was aware that it was self-inflicted. After all, she'd spent the past however many years with a man who offered physical affection on a silver platter whenever possible, but she would so often turn him down because she didn't like him.
Now she felt like a real idiot because she was lying next to Velma Kelly in a hotel room and they were dating and she really didn't have any excuse to still be touch starved, but she didn't know how to get that affection because she'd fallen out of practice.
Roxie looked up at the brunette. The pair always lied in a way that made Velma's head slightly above Roxie's. This did not translate to while they were standing, but Velma liked feeling in power whenever they were lying down and Roxie didn't care enough to fight her on it, so this was just their normal even if it was a slightly awkward position.
"You want something?" Velma questioned, an eyebrow raised. Roxie opened her mouth to respond but hesitated because Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, this was dumb. She was literally inches away from skin-to-skin contact. Why couldn't she just make the final jump?
"Yeah..." Roxie muttered but did not elaborate. Velma found this vaguely annoying but figured she wasn't going to get a straight answer, so she started playing detective. A quick following of Roxie's line of sight made it all painfully clear.
Without a word, Velma reached forward and pulled the blonde into a hug.
