   Chapter 5:
   “Tell me why I shouldn’t kill you right now,” the Darkling says icily.

   “I’m not your enemy,” Nikolai croaks, barely able to form the words with the shadows choking him.

   The Darkling gets abducted by Shu Han. Nikolai is shocked when instead of acting instantly, the king and his council choose to debate if they should send a rescue party or not.
