Work Text:
With Kon back Tim could afford to spend some more time at the WE office. He still did plenty of his work from home, but he came in at least once or twice a week. It was nice to get out of the house but he didn’t necessarily miss the stuffy board rooms full of old grumpy investors. He much preferred spending time at Wayne Tech discussing projects with Lucius, or anywhere with his boys.
After a long day of meetings he was ecstatic to return home to Kon and Charlie. He let the front door close behind him and toed off his shoes. He tugged at his tie, loosening it, as he stepped into the living room. A smile spread across his face as he spotted Kon laying on the carpet with Charlie sitting on his stomach. He was using his TTK to play with Charlie, tickling his stomach and playing with his hair. Charlie giggled at the powers and scrunched his nose in glee.
Kon looked over at him and Tim felt like a lovesick kid all over again. The evening sun was bathing him in a golden light and Tim felt like the luckiest person in the world. Sometime it didn't feel real, his life with Kon and Charlie. He would wake up afraid that it had all been a dream and Kon would still be dead and Charlie wouldn't even exist.
Kon stood up from where he had been laying, using his powers to gently float Charlie into his arms. He walked towards Tim and pulled him in for a kiss using his loosened tie.
“Honey, I’m home,” Tim teased when they broke apart. He bit his lip, trying to hold in some of the pure joy that threatened to spill out of him.
Kon laughed at the joke and pressed another kiss to his cheek.
“Dada!” Charlie held his arms out towards Tim and he had no choice but to obey. He took his baby from Kon and pressed a kiss to his little chubby cheek.
“I’m so sorry Button, did Daddy take too long to say hello?” Charlie laughed at the kiss and wrapped his arms around Tim’s neck. Happy now that both his parents were home.
“I’ve been thinking,” Kon started.
“Uh oh,” Tim snarked, earning him an eye roll.
“We live in this penthouse that you paid for, I stay home all day with the baby while you go to work-“
“I literally go to work at most two days a week but go on.”
“What I’m saying is, you pay for everything.” Tim nodded to show he was following. “So, when we get married does that make me your trophy husband?”
Tim laughed so loudly that Charlie startled in his arms.
“Owie!” Charlie looked angrily at his father. He brushed a hand through his son’s hair in apology before setting him down in his play area. Charlie toddled off towards his blocks, only stumbling a couple times.
“Babe! I’m serious! I need to know if I’m your trophy husband because I need to look the part!” Kon whined, coming over to hold both of Tim’s hands in his own.
“I thought you were gonna tell me you wanted to start contributing financially,” Tim replied through his laughter. The face Kon made in response only made him start laughing harder. He looked utterly disgusted at the premise.
“Are you kidding me? You have a trust fund Timmy. I’m not working for the rest of my life!”
“Then I guess,” Tim pressed a kiss to Kon’s cheek, “that makes you my trophy husband. Lucky me.”
Kon laughed. “Lucky you.”
“Num nums!” Charlie shouted from where he sat on his foam play mats. He stared at his fathers, waiting for someone to answer him.
“Yes Charlie, time for num nums.” Kon swooped over and picked up the 18 month old.
“Num nums!” Charlie cheered and Kon joined him in his happy noises.
Tim stepped away to get changed out of his work clothes as fast as possible. He didn’t want to miss a second of this.
