Stalker

Summary:

Me: ok, buddy, stalker, or whatever you are
Me: it was nice talking to you, but stay away from me
Unavailable Number: I can’t promise that
Me: oh really?!
Me: what CAN you promise then?
Unavailable Number: hmm
Unavailable Number: I can promise that you can trust me
Me: I very much doubt that
Unavailable Number: and that I will always be there
Me: sounds like a threat
Unavailable Number: and that I can make you happy
Me: oh, this is just presumptuous!
Unavailable Number: you tell me how presumptuous it is when I put the ring on your finger at the altar and you say ‘I do’

Notes:

I just wanted to explore a little the weird direction of Felix’s personality they came up with in season 5, but as you’ll see, I can’t make him really psycho like they do in the show, and of course it’s Felinette and not whatever they think works, haha! I think it’s gonna be something short.

Thanks to dear KnifeDancer for beta-reading!

Enjoy!

Chapter Text

Unavailable Number: you were made for me

Me: excuse me?

Unavailable Number: you were made for me

Me: my phone doesn’t show your number

Me: does it even possible to text someone without having a number?

Me: who is this?

Unavailable Number: your chosen one, obviously

Me: ok, I don’t know whose joke it is, but it’s not funny

Unavailable Number: I wasn’t trying to be funny

Me: who are you and why are you texting me?

Unavailable Number: I already said who I am

Unavailable Number: that’s the main thing you need to know about me

Unavailable Number: and also that my intentions are very serious

Me: what are you, a stalker?!

Me: I’m not even famous

Me: I’m calling the police!

Unavailable Number: there’s no need for police

Unavailable Number: I can protect you myself

Me: protect me from the stalker that you are?!

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say I was a stalker

Unavailable Number: although you could call me that, I suppose

Unavailable Number: but not the kind you need to be protected from

Unavailable Number: but who will protect you

Me: what makes you think I need to be protected?!

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say you need it

Unavailable Number: it’s more like I’d be happy to do it

Unavailable Number: protect you

Me: ...

Me: ...

Me: what the heck?!

Me: who the hell are you???

Unavailable Number: I’ll tell you my name

Unavailable Number: but not now

Me: an honest person wouldn’t hide their name!

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say that I was an honest person

Unavailable Number: I said you can trust me

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say that it applies to others

Me: so you are a dishonest person?

Me: why would I trust you then?

Unavailable Number: because I promise never to lie to you

Me: someone unknown is texting me from a number my phone can’t even read

Me: and admits that he or she is a dishonest person

Me: and a stalker

Me: and expects me to trust them

Me: oh, and!

Me: did I forget to mention your intention to put a ring on my finger at the altar?

Me: I wonder if you’re adequate enough to realize that this is absurd and that I won’t believe you

Unavailable Number: I didn’t expect you to believe me, Marinette

Unavailable Number: you don’t know who I am and your reaction is fully justified

Unavailable Number: but like I said

Unavailable Number: I will always be there

Unavailable Number: so I’m not in a hurry

Unavailable Number: you can trust me when you’re ready

Unavailable Number: also

Unavailable Number: I am definitely a he

Me: I won’t be ready to trust a stranger who thinks that I was created for him to force me to marry him!

Unavailable Number: I don’t plan to force you

Unavailable Number: I’m planning to propose to you

Unavailable Number: there will be some quiet slow music playing in the background

Unavailable Number: and you will dance with me

Unavailable Number: and smile

Unavailable Number: looking into my eyes

Unavailable Number: I will stop and get down on one knee in front of you

Unavailable Number: I will take your hand and bring it to my lips

Unavailable Number: then I will say that I want to spend my whole life with you

Unavailable Number: and that I knew that you would be mine from the moment our eyes first met

Unavailable Number: and that there is nothing in the world that I wouldn’t do for you

Unavailable Number: and ask you to be my wife

Me: I

Me: umm

Me: you are a stalker with a good romantic imagination

Me: you’re definitely a psycho, too

Me: so, let me break it to you

Me: this whole scene will never happen

Me: if only because I don’t dance with strangers

Me: especially now that I know that one of them is my stalker

Unavailable Number: what makes you think that we’re strangers?

Me: well

Me: you obviously know me

Me: you called me by name and you said we saw each other and you have my phone number

Me: but I don’t know you

Unavailable Number: yes, you do

Me: I don’t know who you are

Unavailable Number: that’s true

Me: then you should understand that for me it’s like I don’t know you

Me: and also extremely creepy

Me: I have a feeling that when psychos kidnap their victims, that’s exactly the idea they have

Me: that they protect them

Me: or that there’s some happy ever after that is waiting for them

Me: and they ignore that they are strangers and the other person just wants to go home and to sleep peacefully at night again

Me: just weird people

Me: thanks for the tip by the way

Me: now I’ll avoid dancing with people I know, too

Me: just in case

Unavailable Number: I didn’t plan to kidnap you

Unavailable Number: although if it were necessary to protect you, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it

Unavailable Number: I also didn’t plan to propose to you during our second dance

Me: second?

Unavailable Number: you already danced with me once

Me: are you from my school?

Unavailable Number: do you only dance with people from your school?

Me: if you are a good stalker, you should know that I almost never go to dance parties

Me: unless it’s my school or kitty section events

Me: but I know everyone there well enough

Me: and I don’t think that one of my friends is a stalker

Unavailable Number: I’m not your friend

Me: oh, you definitely aren’t

Me: I’m not friends with stalkers

Unavailable Number: that’s not why we won’t be friends

Unavailable Number: my intentions are more than friendship

Unavailable Number: knowing how selfish I am, your friendship would never be enough for me

Me: damn, you’re just trying really hard to make me like you, aren’t you?

Me: it was sarcasm if you didn’t get it from the text

Unavailable Number: do you prefer people to lie to you about who they are?

Me: I didn’t mean it like that!

Me: but to say that you are selfish to a girl with whom you hope for some kind of relationship is peculiar

Unavailable Number: I am what I am

Unavailable Number: and I already said I won’t lie to you about it

Unavailable Number: but you shouldn’t give strangers information about where you go and who you dance with

Unavailable Number: we’re not close enough yet for you to trust me and if I had bad intentions I could use this information against you

Unavailable Number: so please try to avoid being too open with people you don’t know well

Me: what the hell?!

Me: are you chastising me for saying something about myself to you?!

Unavailable Number: your safety is important to me

Me: you know what

Me: you’re acting too weird even for a stalker!

Me: why am I talking to you at all!!

Unavailable Number: because you’re too curious for your own good

Unavailable Number: and I’m a mystery to you

Unavailable Number: and you can’t help but want to figure me out

Unavailable Number: I was counting on getting your attention assuming you’d react like that

Unavailable Number: that’s why I preferred to text you instead of approaching you

Unavailable Number: you deserve a beautiful interesting love story and not a banal movie invitation

Me: that is, you consciously chose to write to me as a stalker and not approach me as a normal person, thinking that this would interest me more???

Unavailable Number: exactly

Me: and you think that now that you told me about it, I will still be interested?!

Unavailable Number: I’m sure of it

Unavailable Number: I told you about it because that’s the way it is and I don’t hide it from you

Unavailable Number: you might be a little weirded out by the situation at first because I know who you are and you don’t know who I am

Unavailable Number: but you can’t stop talking to me because you’re interested in my approach

Unavailable Number: it’s fresh and different, and maybe you always dreamed that a handsome prince on a white horse would come and save you

Unavailable Number: and even considering me a stalker and a psycho you can’t help having this tiny hope that I am that prince

Unavailable Number: because you are romantic

Unavailable Number: I am, too

Me: firstly, I do not have any hope like that about a stalker!

Me: secondly, I have already found my prince and this definitely has nothing to do with you

Me: and thirdly, I have absolutely no interest in reading your texts!

Me: in fact

Me: I’m leaving!

Unavailable Number: but I’m not a prince, my dear

Me: that’s exactly what I just said!

Unavailable Number: I see myself more as a king

Me: oh my god, you’re also a narcissist!

Unavailable Number: I can’t confirm this statement

Me: ha!

Me: as if I needed your confirmation to see that you are in love with yourself!

Unavailable Number: I’m not in love with myself, Marinette

Unavailable Number: I’m in love with my queen

Me: …

Me: this conversation just officially crossed the limits of absurdity that I’m ready to accept at 10 pm

Unavailable Number: let’s continue it tomorrow then

Unavailable Number: sweet dreams

*

Unavailable Number: good morning, Marinette

Unavailable Number: you look tired today

Unavailable Number: it’s not because of me texting you yesterday that you didn’t sleep enough, right?

Me: if I say that I didn’t get enough sleep because of you, will you leave me alone?

Unavailable Number: no

Unavailable Number: but I’ll try to reassure you that you’re safe with me the best I can

Me: I’m not in any way WITH YOU!!

Unavailable Number: not yet

Me: not EVER, psycho!

Unavailable Number: I’m not all that psycho

Unavailable Number: so don’t get your hopes for it too high

Unavailable Number: though I wouldn’t call me an ordinary person either

Unavailable Number: but one thing I can say for sure

Unavailable Number: you won’t get bored with me

Me: if by “won’t get bored” you mean that I now have to watch my back every minute with caution and suspect every passer-by who breathes unevenly that he is a stalker, then thank you

Me: I prefer boredom to such entertainment

Unavailable Number: don’t look for me among the passers-by, dear

Unavailable Number: I stand out too much from the crowd to try to get lost in it and go unnoticed by you

Unavailable Number: you’ll only see me when I want you to

Unavailable Number: until then, I’ll be by your side discreetly

Unavailable Number: just to make sure you’re safe

Me: that doesn’t sound creepy at all!

Me: and I’m not letting you follow me, you jerk!

Me: I have things to do that I don’t want anyone to poke their nose into

Unavailable Number: alright

Me: alright as in you’ll leave me alone and won’t follow me anymore?!

Unavailable Number: no

Unavailable Number: alright as in I won’t interfere in your affairs that you don’t want me to interfere into

Me: I’m not talking about anything in particular

Me: I’m talking in general

Me: stop following me!

Unavailable Number: if you’re worried about me seeing you transform or de-transform, then I’m afraid it’s too late for that

Unavailable Number: I’ve known your secret for a while now

Unavailable Number: but that doesn’t change how I feel about you

Unavailable Number: and like I said

Unavailable Number: I won’t interfere without warning you

Me: I

Me: don’t know what kind of transformation you’re talking about!

Me: leave me alone, you damn stalker!

Unavailable Number: Marinette, you don’t have to freak out about this

Unavailable Number: I already said I don’t mean you any harm

Unavailable Number: both you and your secret are safe with me

Me: damn it!

Me: I hate you!

Unavailable Number: shouldn’t I have told you that I know your secret?

Me: no!

Me: I mean

Me: you

Me: you should have

Me: damn it!

Me: how am I even supposed to deal with this?!

Me: how long do you know?

Unavailable Number: a few weeks

Me: how did you know?

Me: where did I go wrong?

Unavailable Number: it’s not about you doing something wrong, Marinette

Unavailable Number: I just know how to look very carefully

Me: and how am I supposed to sleep peacefully knowing that someone knows it?!

Me: and follows me!

Unavailable Number: to keep you safe

Unavailable Number: for no other reason

Me: I don’t know that

Unavailable Number: you know that

Unavailable Number: because I told you that

Unavailable Number: I understand that you have no reason to believe me yet

Unavailable Number: but think for yourself

Unavailable Number: if I had malicious intent about your Miraculous, would I tell you that I know about it?

Me: that…

Me: makes sense

Me: unless you have some evil plan that involves you telling me

Me: so it’s not enough for me to sleep well at night

Unavailable Number: but that’s not why you didn’t sleep last night

Me: no, it’s not

Unavailable Number: tell me

Unavailable Number: truth for truth

Me: well

Me: it’s not like you don’t know my bigger secret already

Me: so

Me: here it comes

Chapter 2

Summary:

Unavailable Number: do you want me to take them from him?
Unavailable Number: for you
Me: haha
Me: very funny!
Me: as if you could do that
Unavailable Number: I can do that
Me: don’t talk nonsense!
Me: spying on a girl as a stalker and accidentally seeing her transform isn’t the same as purposefully finding a criminal who almost never comes out of his lair
Me: besides
Me: it’s my job
Me: I can’t let someone put themselves in danger because of my mistake
Me: even a stalker
Unavailable Number: I’m flattered that you’re worried about me
Unavailable Number: but I can assure you it’s not a problem
Unavailable Number: taking the Miraculous from Monarch, I mean

Chapter Text

Me: god

Me: I don’t believe I’m saying this to an actual stalker

Me: but hey

Me: better you than my friends I guess

Me: they will worry about me even more than they already do

Me: so

Me: ever since I screwed up

Me: as Guardian

Me: and he took all the Miraculous

Me: I dream that he will come to take my Miraculous, too

Me: like

Me: every night

Me: and getting enough sleep when you have nightmares isn’t an easy task

Unavailable Number: I’m sorry

Me: it’s not your fault

Me: I told you

Me: the nightmares aren’t because I got a stalker

Me: it’s because of Monarch

Me: and because of the Miraculous

Me: and because of what a fool I was when I allowed myself to be deceived

Me: cause of a stupid crush

Me: ok

Me: I can understand your desire to impress me

Me: but I’m serious now

Me: no dangerous antics!

Me: you promised not to meddle in my business without a permission

Unavailable Number: that’s true

Unavailable Number: but I don’t like that you have nightmares

Unavailable Number: if you won’t allow me take the Miraculous from him for you

Unavailable Number: let me at least guard you at night

Unavailable Number: you’ll know that you’re safe and sleep well

Unavailable Number: although I would prefer to completely rule out the cause of your anxiety

Unavailable Number: so the offer stands

Me: the offer to find Monarch and take the Miraculous from him?

Me: it’s unrealistic

Unavailable Number: not for me

Me: I honestly don’t understand if you just have a very peculiar sense of humor

Me: a ridiculously huge self-confidence

Me: or you’re just delusional

Unavailable Number: I’m not delusional

Unavailable Number: and my self-confidence is justified

Unavailable Number: if I say that I can protect you it means I can

Unavailable Number: if I say I can get you miraculous it means I can

Me: unbelievable

Me: well

Me: I’m not risking some psycho attracting Monarch’s attention in a futile attempt to defeat him for me

Me: and getting akumatized in the meantime and giving up my identity to my enemy by accident

Unavailable Number: he couldn’t akumatize me before

Unavailable Number: he won’t be able to do it now either

Me: he what???

Me: are you trying to impress me again?

Unavailable Number: not really

Unavailable Number: why?

Unavailable Number: am I the only one he failed to akumatize?

Me: well

Me: I only know a couple of people who were able to break the bond with him after they were akumatized

Me: I never heard of people who resisted it altogether

Me: I myself could hardly stand it

Me: and I still think I just got lucky and something distracted him

Me: so if you’re telling the truth, I’m kind of impressed

Unavailable Number: I already said I won’t lie to you, Marinette

Me: ok

Me: we’ll assume that my stalker has a strong will like that

Me: until proven otherwise

Me: but don’t think it will help me sleep peacefully

Me: the idea of someone creeping around my house at night is still weirding me out

Unavailable Number: not someone

Unavailable Number: me

Unavailable Number: and again

Unavailable Number: to protect you

Me: oh, let me think

Me: the stalker tells me that he knows my secret identity and that he will protect me at night

Me: so that I don’t have nightmares and have a good rest

Me: and also insists that he isn’t a psycho

Me: but just a romantic with a good imagination

Me: and that one day he will propose to me

Me: how good does it all sound?

Unavailable Number: in my opinion it sounds better than taking the boy from the poster who doesn’t notice you and naming him your prince without his knowledge or consent

Unavailable Number: follow him to private events disguised as a waiter

Unavailable Number: or borrow someone else’s pass to a ball

Me: so you know that about me as well

Unavailable Number: clearly

Me: and that’s not at all creepy

Unavailable Number: I think we have a lot in common, you and me

Unavailable Number: even our stalker nature

Unavailable Number: I like to learn things about you

Me: it’s good to know that there’s absolutely no mystery in me for you

Unavailable Number: are you afraid of not being interesting to me because of it?

Me: why on earth would I be afraid of not being interesting to a stalker?!

Unavailable Number: to a charming stalker that you’ll definitely fall in love with

Unavailable Number: and you don’t have to worry about not being interesting to me, Marinette

Me: I never confirmed I was!

Unavailable Number: right

Unavailable Number: but in case you are

Unavailable Number: you should know that every time I close my eyes I see us dancing again

Unavailable Number: and I look into your bottomless eyes

Unavailable Number: and I know I want to look into them always

Unavailable Number: you’re more than enough of a mystery to me

Unavailable Number: you and everything else about you are two different things

Unavailable Number: so even if I knew every detail about you

Unavailable Number: every mole on your skin

Unavailable Number: you as a whole will always be something more than that to me

Me: you keep sounding creepy

Me: it makes me self-conscious

Unavailable Number: why?

Unavailable Number: what about what I said is bothering you?

Me: like

Me: every mole on my skin?

Me: don’t you think that’s too intimate a remark considering all I know about you is that you’re a stalker?

Me: plus

Me: how can you be sure that your obsession with me won’t go away in a week or so?

Unavailable Number: I just know it

Unavailable Number: because that’s the way love works in my family

Unavailable Number: once and for the lifetime

Unavailable Number: I can’t do it any other way

Unavailable Number: so I’m sure of my feelings

Me: that’s creepy too

Me: from someone I don’t know

Me: almost more than discussing moles on my body

Unavailable Number: I wanted to be honest with you

Unavailable Number: but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable

Unavailable Number: can you tell me if I go too far again?

Unavailable Number: I’m used to avoiding interaction with my peers

Unavailable Number: so I may not be sensitive enough in this aspect

Unavailable Number: but I promise to be more careful with what I say

Unavailable Number: to make you feel more at ease with me

Me: what a considerate stalker I got!

Me: almost a gentleman!

Unavailable Number: why almost?

Me: because you could just come and meet me face to face like an adequate person would

Me: instead of spying on me

Me: and revealing my secrets

Me: and making me worry

Unavailable Number: I don’t want you to worry

Unavailable Number: I just said I’ll keep you safe so you don’t have to worry

Me: don’t you see the contradiction?

Unavailable Number: explain

Me: how can I not be worried since you know my secret and I don’t know who you are?!

Unavailable Number: I can understand that

Me: so

Me: will you tell me who you are?

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: if you really want me to

Me: why wouldn’t I want to know who my stalker is?

Unavailable Number: because you like how special this is

Unavailable Number: because it’s like living in a romantic movie

Unavailable Number: and feel as special as you are

Unavailable Number: that’s what I wanted to make you feel when I texted you yesterday

Unavailable Number: because this is true

Unavailable Number: you are very special

Unavailable Number: to me

Unavailable Number: and you deserve all the romance in the world

Unavailable Number: and therefore I preferred to do it in an unusual way

Unavailable Number: and turn your life into the romance it deserves to be

Unavailable Number: but if it’s too uncomfortable for you, I’ll tell you who I am

Me: so

Me: you’ll tell me your name as soon as I ask you to, right?

Unavailable Number: I already said that there is nothing that I wouldn’t do for you, Marinette

Me: including leaving me alone?

Unavailable Number: that

Unavailable Number: would be a very difficult task for me

Unavailable Number: do you really want me to?

Me: I don’t know

Unavailable Number: then I would rather stay and take care of you

Me: to be honest

Me: right now I don’t quite understand the difference between a romantic movie and a thriller where a stalker is chasing me just because he’s a psycho

Unavailable Number: the difference is that in the first case you’re safe

Unavailable Number: and you are

Me: I can’t believe I’m doing this

Me: but fine

Me: you can guard me tonight

Unavailable Number: thank you

Me: does that mean you’ll hang around my house all night and won’t sleep?

Unavailable Number: don’t worry about it

Unavailable Number: I can take care of myself

Me: Akuma

Me: I have to go

Me: bye, stalker!

Unavailable Number: see you, Marinette

*

Me: damn asshole!

Unavailable Number: did I upset you again?

Me: not you

Me: Argos

Me: I don’t understand what’s wrong with him!

Me: today he pretended to help us against Akuma

Me: but I know that he is a traitor!

Unavailable Number: you don’t have to worry about him

Me: how can I not worry about him?!

Me: I don’t trust him!

Me: I know that he got his Miraculous from Shadow Moth

Me: and because of him I failed my role as Guardian!

Me: and then he tried to take my Miraculous as well!

Me: and now he wants to pretend that he helps me!

Unavailable Number: don’t you think something might change the way he acts towards you?

Me: as if!

Me: how could something have changed so quickly?!

Me: if only a few weeks ago he was chasing me around the city to take my Miraculous

Me: and now he pretends that he is on my side!

Unavailable Number: why can’t you believe he’s on your side?

Me: because then he would tell me Monarch’s name, obviously!

Me: I’ll never believe that he somehow gave Shadow Moth all the Miraculous and got his own from him without knowing who he was dealing with

Me: he’s too smart for that

Unavailable Number: so, you want him to tell you Monarch’s name

Me: he won’t do that!

Unavailable Number: why not?

Me: because it doesn’t make sense

Me: and because I won’t believe him if he does

Unavailable Number: you are very upset because of him

Unavailable Number: you need to calm down

Me: calm down my ass!

Unavailable Number: it’s already evening

Unavailable Number: we were going to make sure you get enough sleep tonight, remember?

Me: you’re right

Me: I don’t believe that I’m agreeing with a stalker

Me: who wants to take care of my sleep

Unavailable Number: don’t think of anything tonight

Unavailable Number: even about me

Unavailable Number: imagine that all your worries are in the past

Unavailable Number: and just rest

Me: god, what am I going to do when I get used to this kind of treatment

Me: and you end up being a creepy stalker

Unavailable Number: I thought we had already determined that I was a stalker

Unavailable Number: and that you’ll tell me how not to be creepy

Me: ok

Me: have a good night

Me: or a good duty under my windows

Me: or whatever you’re gonna do to guard my sleep

Unavailable Number: just rest, Marinette

Unavailable Number: I’ll take care of everything

*

Me: did you see him too?!!

Unavailable Number: I saw who?

Me: Argos, of course!

Unavailable Number: I saw you

Unavailable Number: transformed and out of your bed

Unavailable Number: and I thought we agreed that you would go to sleep

Me: yes, but I wanted to see who you are

Unavailable Number: you could just ask

Unavailable Number: I would tell you

Me: and what fun would be in that?

Unavailable Number: so

Unavailable Number: did you want to surprise me?

Me: maybe

Me: or catch you at the crime scene

Unavailable Number: I guarded your sleep

Unavailable Number: with your permission

Unavailable Number: it’s hardly can be called a crime

Me: whatever

Me: but instead of you, I found Argos

Me: he hung around near my house

Me: what if it’s not a coincidence?!

Me: what if he knows my identity?!

Unavailable Number: why don’t you assume the obvious?

Me: that’s exactly what I’m doing!

Unavailable Number: the other obvious, Marinette

Me: spill it out!

Unavailable Number: that I am him

Me: nonsense!

Me: you know who I am!

Unavailable Number: didn’t you just assume he knew that too?

Me: yes

Me: but

Me: that’s different

Me: you can’t be him

Unavailable Number: why not?

Me: because he works with Monarch

Me: he would have already told him who I am

Me: and they would try taking my Miraculous

Unavailable Number: I understand why this line of reasoning makes sense to you

Me: that’s the only line of reasoning that makes sense at all!

Me: because he betrayed me!

Unavailable Number: I suppose he did

Me: now I’m going to worry even more

Me: thinking about why he hung out at night so close to my house

Unavailable Number: maybe he likes you

Me: another nonsense!

Unavailable Number: why?

Me: if he liked me and it was his reason to hung around near my house, it would mean that he knows my identity

Me: and if he knew my identity, he would have already told it to Monarch

Me: and as I just said

Me: they would have try to take my Miraculous

Me: so you see

Me: if he knows who I am, the fact that he works with Monarch and the idea that he likes me contradict each other

Me: and if he doesn’t know who I am

Me: then, say, he might like me as Ladybug

Me: but then he wouldn’t know where I live

Me: and wouldn’t betray me in the first place

Unavailable Number: and what if he liked you as Marinette?

Me: given that I know who he is, I can say with confidence that he doesn’t like anyone

Me: me included

Unavailable Number: you may be mistaken in your judgment about his character

Me: he did enough ugly things to make me sure I’m right about that

Unavailable Number: love changes people

Unavailable Number: or rather it changes what’s important to them

Me: you can’t talk about love and this man in one sentence

Me: god, I hate him!

Unavailable Number: you said you hate me too

Me: I was just scared for my Miraculous

Me: I can’t say I trust you now or anything

Me: but it’s true that if you wanted to take it from me you would try to do it already

Me: so maybe I feel less need to defend myself from you right now

Unavailable Number: thank you

Unavailable Number: so does it mean that you’ll let me guard you and actually go to sleep?

Me: alright

Me: but you wake me up if you see someone suspicious around

Me: and you won’t otherwise intervene and endanger yourself

Unavailable Number: I’ll make it right

Unavailable Number: don’t worry

Unavailable Number: just go to sleep, my dear

Me: good night, weirdo

Me: and thank you

Chapter 3

Summary:

Unavailable Number: and I haven’t lost interest in you
Unavailable Number: and I won’t
Unavailable Number: so you don’t have to worry about that either
Me: I didn’t say I was worried about that!
Me: it’s just that
Me: good stalkers aren’t supposed to leave for so long!
Unavailable Number: 🙂
Me: that’s not what I was gonna say!
Unavailable Number: of course it’s not
Me: oh shut up!

Chapter Text

Unavailable Number: good morning, Marinette

Me: morning

Me: stalker-boy

Unavailable Number: night, Marinette

Me: gonna guard me again tonight?

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: if that’s ok with you

Me: it weirdly is

Me: good night

*

Unavailable Number: good morning, my dear

Me: morning, my not-at-all-creepy-stalker

Unavailable Number: 🙂

*

Unavailable Number: sweet dreams, Marinette

Me: so

Me: about that

Unavailable Number: about what?

Me: about you wishing me good mornings and good nights

Unavailable Number: what about it?

Unavailable Number: does it make you uncomfortable?

Unavailable Number: I didn’t realize it would

Me: not exactly that

Unavailable Number: what then?

Me: well

Me: I just don’t understand why you keep doing it

Me: when it’s clear you’ve lost interest in the object of your observation

Unavailable Number: if you are talking about yourself, then no

Unavailable Number: I haven’t lost my interest

Unavailable Number: although I don’t consider you an object

Unavailable Number: and what made you think that in the first place?

Me: I mean

Me: you only text me twice a day now

Me: why don’t you just stop texting me if you’re not interested anymore?

Unavailable Number: of course I’m interested

Unavailable Number: I just had busy days

Unavailable Number: that’s all

Me: oh

Me: I see

Me: is it because you took it upon yourself to guard me at night?

Me: does it make you sleepy all day or something?

Me: cause that would be very wrong

Me: besides

Me: I’m sleeping much better now

Me: so you should stop doing it

Unavailable Number: you are very kind, Marinette

Unavailable Number: and it’s with everything that fell on you

Unavailable Number: you never cease to amaze me

Me: stop embarrassing me and tell me what’s going on!

Unavailable Number: it really is about you

Unavailable Number: in a way

Unavailable Number: but not in the way you said

Unavailable Number: I have enough sleep

Unavailable Number: you don’t have to worry about it

Unavailable Number: and I haven’t lost interest in you

Unavailable Number: and I won’t

Unavailable Number: so you don’t have to worry about that either

Me: I didn’t say I was worried about that!

Me: it’s just that

Me: good stalkers aren’t supposed to leave for so long!

Unavailable Number: 🙂

Me: that’s not what I was gonna say!

Unavailable Number: of course it’s not

Me: oh shut up!

Me: so

Me: what is it then?

Unavailable Number: I’d rather keep this information to myself for now

Me: but you said it was somehow related to me

Unavailable Number: it is

Me: and you promised you’d tell me

Me: well

Me: not like everything about you or whatever

Me: but you were ready to tell me your name

Me: when I ask you about it

Me: so what bigger secrets you may have?

Unavailable Number: it’s not exactly a secret

Unavailable Number: it’s more of a surprise that I was preparing for you

Unavailable Number: so you see

Unavailable Number: if I tell you it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore

Me: hmm

Me: so you were busy preparing this surprise for me and that’s why you didn’t text me much?

Unavailable Number: something like that

Me: is it something good?

Me: your surprise

Me: will I like it?

Unavailable Number: it’s hard to say

Unavailable Number: but I hope so

Me: you hope???

Me: so it can be a bad thing?!

Unavailable Number: not in the long run, it won’t

Unavailable Number: but I’m not sure about your first reaction

Me: I almost want to insist you tell me

Me: would you?

Me: if I ask you to

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: I said I’d do anything for you, Marinette

Unavailable Number: there are no secrets that are more important to me than your peace of mind

Unavailable Number: but I think you won't ask me to tell you

Me: ha!

Me: and why is that?

Unavailable Number: like I said

Unavailable Number: you like the mystery between us

Unavailable Number: that’s why you still haven’t asked my name despite the fact that I was ready to give it to you

Me: why

Me: are you not ready to do it anymore?

Unavailable Number: of course I’m ready

Unavailable Number: I don’t go back on my words

Unavailable Number: not for those I care about

Unavailable Number: one word from you is all it takes

Me: you are too much, honestly

Unavailable Number: why?

Me: because you really sound like a dream

Me: you came out of nowhere

Me: you already know all my secrets so I don’t need to hide them from you

Me: you don’t laugh at me for all my antics and disguises

Me: you even say that you can take Miraculous from Monarch for me

Me: which of course is an exaggeration

Me: but in which I want to believe nevertheless

Unavailable Number: it wasn’t an exaggeration

Unavailable Number: I told you I can do it

Me: see?

Me: that’s why you can’t be real

Unavailable Number: I can assure you that I am real

Me: I don’t know

Me: apart from the thing with Miraculous

Me: because I don’t believe in it

Me: and because it would be a risk and I wouldn’t let you fight Monarch for me anyway

Me: everything else about you sounds too perfect to be true

Unavailable Number: if you say so

Me: well it does!

Me: all your care for me

Me: and gentleman-like habits

Me: romantic ideas

Me: and willingness to do anything

Me: it can’t be real

Me: so you must have some terrible flaw that cancels everything out

Me: other than being a stalker, which I can’t be too mad about because I really have the same tendencies

Me: so you must be, like, 80 years old

Me: or vice versa, 10 or something

Me: or you’re so ugly that even people without a fad about it can’t just look at you

Me: or you’re bald from birth

Me: or don’t fit in the doorway

Me: or you are a meter tall and I’ll have to look down at you when we talk

Unavailable Number: alright

Unavailable Number: let me see

Unavailable Number: I’m about a year older than you

Unavailable Number: I’m far from ugly and people often consider my appearance flawless

Unavailable Number: many claim my hair to be my best feature

Unavailable Number: although I myself believe it’s my eyes

Unavailable Number: I don’t have a problem with doorways

Unavailable Number: so I can easily carry you around the house if you would like me to

Unavailable Number: regarding my height

Unavailable Number: I can assure you that I’m taller than you so much that you have to go up on your toes to kiss me

Me: haha

Me: very funny!

Unavailable Number: I wasn’t laughing

Unavailable Number: only dispelling your misconceptions about my appearance

Me: and trying to convince me that you’re perfect, right?

Unavailable Number: I am not perfect

Unavailable Number: at least you won’t think of me like that

Me: why are you so sure about that?

Unavailable Number: because I have what you would consider a flaw

Me: what is it?

Unavailable Number: like I said

Unavailable Number: I only care about people who are important to me

Unavailable Number: I don’t care about people I don’t know or who don’t matter to me

Me: well isn’t it the same for everyone?

Unavailable Number: I think it is

Unavailable Number: but not everyone is ready to admit it

Unavailable Number: even more so, show it in action

Unavailable Number: people usually pretend to care about everyone around

Unavailable Number: being afraid to seem selfish

Unavailable Number: and when you’re the only one who doesn’t hide your nature, people tend to dislike you for it

Unavailable Number: even though they are actually the same

Unavailable Number: because it’s in human nature

Me: if it’s in human nature, why would people dislike you for it?

Unavailable Number: because they are selfish, of course

Unavailable Number: they use you as an example to oppose themselves

Unavailable Number: to show how ‘good’ they are in contrast

Unavailable Number: and since I don’t hide the fact that my interests are purely selfish, I’m often considered a bad person

Me: ok

Me: then I would like to take a step back

Unavailable Number: meaning?

Me: meaning the fact that you think being selfish is natural for people

Unavailable Number: it is

Me: and you think all the people are like that, right?

Unavailable Number: right

Me: and they hide it?

Unavailable Number: either hide or don’t realize

Unavailable Number: but they can’t get away from their nature

Me: which is selfishness?

Unavailable Number: or egoism, call it the way you like

Me: it sounds kind of unpleasant if i think that about myself

Unavailable Number: there’s nothing wrong with being selfish, Marinette

Unavailable Number: it’s just an evolutionary way of surviving

Me: selfishness?

Me: and how is that?

Unavailable Number: well

Unavailable Number: the less developed the animal as a species, the more developed each member of the species in the moment of birth

Unavailable Number: so, in simple animals the previous generation doesn’t need to take care of the next one

Unavailable Number: in such animal’s life everything happens according to innate instincts, so it knows how to survive on its own from the very birth

Unavailable Number: the more complex animals — the less developed they are born

Unavailable Number: so they take care of their offspring, otherwise they won’t survive

Unavailable Number: human is the most highly developed animal

Unavailable Number: that’s why when we’re born, selfishness – getting from others everything we need – is the only thing that keeps us alive

Me: oh

Me: it makes sense when you put it like that

Unavailable Number: it definitely is

Unavailable Number: newborn manipulates his parents in many ways — with his crying, hormones, and even the way he looks to feed him and take care of him

Unavailable Number: they give him everything he needs, basically

Unavailable Number: so he wouldn’t have survived if he couldn’t subordinate others to his interests

Unavailable Number: and we live all our lives just the same way

Unavailable Number: doing everything only for our own interests

Unavailable Number: and that’s ok

Unavailable Number: it’s our nature

Me: I think I understand what you’re talking about

Me: but that’s not true

Unavailable Number: what exactly?

Me: that we do everything only for our own interests

Unavailable Number: and what do we do not for our own interests?

Me: well

Me: for example

Me: we help others

Unavailable Number: we do it for ourselves, too

Me: and how is that?

Me: it’s literally helping another

Unavailable Number: people usually do it to look better in other people’s eyes

Unavailable Number: for praise and honors

Me: are you saying that I fight akumas for the sake of praise?

Me: you don’t know me at all then!

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say you do

Me: why do you think I’m doing it then?

Unavailable Number: for yourself

Me: what does this supposed to mean, exactly?

Unavailable Number: doing something good for the city makes you feel better about yourself

Unavailable Number: as I already said, you’re kind

Unavailable Number: you have certain ideas about yourself, and the corresponding requirements for yourself

Unavailable Number: it makes you act selflessly

Unavailable Number: but it’s only an external side of the question

Unavailable Number: internally, you are driven by a selfish desire to prove to yourself that you correspond to your own image of yourself

Unavailable Number: because you can’t accept your selfish nature as it is

Unavailable Number: few people can

Me: I don’t know

Me: I kind of understand the idea

Me: but it’s hard to

Me: I don’t know

Me: accept it at once, I guess

Me: I believe that people really do things for other people

Me: say, with akumas it’s obvious that I’m the one doing it

Me: even if people don’t know who I am

Me: although I don’t enjoy being called a hero and all that

Me: especially now

Unavailable Number: I know

Me: well anyway

Me: what about people who help others secretly?

Me: so no one will ever know they did it

Me: you can’t call them selfish

Me: no one can ever praise them for what they did

Unavailable Number: it’s just the same I said before

Unavailable Number: the people themselves know that they did it

Unavailable Number: the things they did for others make them feel better about themselves

Unavailable Number: boost their self-esteem

Unavailable Number: if their value is to be kind to others, that is

Me: hmm

Me: so you really think we are all selfish?

Unavailable Number: I do

Me: but it’s terrible!

Unavailable Number: it isn’t

Unavailable Number: it’s just our nature

Unavailable Number: you don’t have to be afraid of it

Me: that’s easier said than accepted, honestly

Unavailable Number: it probably is

Unavailable Number: at first at least

Unavailable Number: stopping lying to yourself is what makes your life truly easier

Me: right

Me: so

Me: back to the question of perfect stalkers

Me: you think your only flaw is that you’re not afraid of your nature?

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say it was a flaw

Unavailable Number: I said that you would consider it a flaw

Unavailable Number: because I act based on what and who is important to me

Unavailable Number: and I don’t limit my actions to the consequences for other people, who don’t concern me

Unavailable Number: and it will be ground for you to condemn me

Me: well

Me: now that you’ve explained to me why you act like that

Me: and maybe almost convinced me that it’s in our nature

Me: why would I condemn you?

Unavailable Number: you will

Me: but for what?

Unavailable Number: for not caring about you earlier

Me: how can I judge a person for that?!

Unavailable Number: you’ll see how

Me: I don’t think so

Me: I’m sane enough not to do that

Unavailable Number: you are sane

Unavailable Number: but

Unavailable Number: well

Unavailable Number: I just noticed how late it is

Unavailable Number: you should rest

Me: you’re trying to get off topic

Me: and whose fault is it that you finally started texting me for real only after saying goodnight

Unavailable Number: I would text you during the day if I knew you missed me so much

Unavailable Number: and I’m not getting off topic

Unavailable Number: we’ll inevitably return to it

Unavailable Number: but now isn’t the time

Me: if you say so

Me: oh wise one

Me: and I didn’t miss you

Me: it’s just

Me: I don’t know

Me: maybe I really like the idea of you

Me: although it turns out that you guarded my sleep not for me, but for your own interests, right?

Unavailable Number: of course

Unavailable Number: you are important to me

Unavailable Number: I enjoy taking care of you

Unavailable Number: and I am especially pleased that I am the one who can do it

Me: this is an unusual approach

Me: I have to think it over

Unavailable Number: take your time

Unavailable Number: but it’s really very late, Marinette

Me: fine

Me: daddy

Me: I’m going to sleep

Unavailable Number: …

Unavailable Number: good night

Chapter 4

Summary:

Me: the audacity!
Unavailable Number: I thought you were going to be silent all day
Me: don’t care
Me: I hate him
Me: I can hardly keep myself from smacking him in the face
Unavailable Number: who do you hate this time?
Me: Felix Fathom
Me: he transferred to my class!
Unavailable Number: I know
Me: and that’s after what he did!
Me: wait what?
Me: how do you know?!
Me: oh right
Me: I forgot that you’re a stalker and know about everything that happens in my life
Unavailable Number: right

Chapter Text

Me: morning, stalker boy!

Me: today I’m the one to text you first

Me: so it’s you who’ll have to suffer all day

Me: asking himself “why did she say hello and no longer texts me”

Unavailable Number: good morning, Marinette

Unavailable Number: I told you it wasn’t intentional

Unavailable Number: but if this is your way of flirting

Unavailable Number: I’m ready to accept your punishment

*

Me: the audacity!

Unavailable Number: I thought you were going to be silent all day

Me: don’t care

Me: I hate him

Me: I can hardly keep myself from smacking him in the face

Unavailable Number: who do you hate this time?

Me: Felix Fathom

Me: he transferred to my class!

Unavailable Number: I know

Me: and that’s after what he did!

Me: wait what?

Me: how do you know?!

Me: oh right

Me: I forgot that you’re a stalker and know about everything that happens in my life

Unavailable Number: right

Me: anyway

Me: he’s sitting right behind me!

Me: can you imagine?!

Unavailable Number: I certainly can

Unavailable Number: he has a good view

Me: don’t be creepy!

Me: I’m serious!

Unavailable Number: Me too

Unavailable Number: the fact that you’re not currently wearing a tight red suit that leaves no room for imagination isn’t enough of a cover if a person has eyes

Unavailable Number: and before you say it’s creepy to compliment your figure

Unavailable Number: I’ll say that it’s not

Unavailable Number: we are adults and it’s natural to notice the physical attractiveness of another

Me: oh my god

Me: now THIS is creepy

Me: I can’t believe you just did it

Unavailable Number: did what?

Me: made me blush at the thought of Felix Fathom having a good view of my arse when I get up from my desk

Unavailable Number: he really does have a good view

Me: stop it!

Me: I can’t think in those terms about him

Me: the only thing that makes this idea less crazy for me right now is that with his coldness he won’t pay attention to whether my figure looks good

Unavailable Number: I’m sure he will

Unavailable Number: besides

Unavailable Number: I think it’s better to be a little embarrassed by someone’s potential attention to your figure than to hate them

Unavailable Number: feeling attractive should be a more pleasant emotion

Me: not attractive to HIM

Me: and shouldn’t you treat this matter differently?

Me: being jealous of the idea that some guy will stare at my butt or something

Me: if you like me as much as you say you do

Unavailable Number: do you want me to act possessive towards you?

Me: I didn’t say THAT!

Me: it’s just weird that you calmly discuss with me how someone will admire my figure

Unavailable Number: I’m sure most of the healthy young man around you notice your figure, Marinette

Unavailable Number: maybe this factor isn’t decisive for me

Unavailable Number: but I know physiology well enough to understand that not all man my age feel through their heads like I do

Unavailable Number: teenagers pay attention to the physical features rather a lot

Unavailable Number: I’ve been told they basically think with their body

Unavailable Number: with its specific parts, to be precise

Unavailable Number: so it’s reasonable to assume that a girl as attractive as you won’t escape attention

Unavailable Number: I just didn’t think that I had the right to be jealous

Unavailable Number: the one I’d have if we were in a relationship

Unavailable Number: although I admit I have a tendency to be possessive

Unavailable Number: but I can’t act on it, can I?

Unavailable Number: because I can’t call you mine

Unavailable Number: yet

Me: ok

Me: I admit it

Me: for a stalker, you reason quite adequately

Me: so

Me: you won’t start killing guys who look at my figure?

Me: like a maniac you could turn out to be?

Unavailable Number: I suppose not

Me: that’s soothing

Unavailable Number: besides

Unavailable Number: this time you didn’t deny that one day I might be able to call you mine

Me: which doesn’t mean it ever happens

Unavailable Number: for now it’s enough that you don’t completely rule out this possibility

Me: you can’t see it

Me: but I’m rolling my eyes at you right now

Unavailable Number: that’s fine

Unavailable Number: as long as you smile at the same time

Me: anyway

Me: thank you

Unavailable Number: for what?

Me: for distracting me

Me: I shouldn’t let myself get as angry as I got in his presence

Me: risk of akumatization and all that

Me: although you chose a peculiar topic for distraction

Me: it even made me think of him as just a teenager for a moment

Me: who is able to notice if the girls around him are attractive

Me: theoretically

Me: though I don’t particularly like to think of him as a human being

Unavailable Number: why not?

Me: he did something bad

Me: more than once, actually

Me: but these last things are much worse than his previous pranks

Me: and they concern me personally

Me: but I probably shouldn’t discuss it with you

Unavailable Number: you are an amazing person, Marinette

Me: me?

Me: why?

Unavailable Number: you consider him a traitor and at the same time don’t want to discuss his actions towards you personally in order to hide his identity

Me: you know???

Me: his identity?!

Unavailable Number: I do

Unavailable Number: you didn’t want to talk about what he did lest you sound like you’re talking about Argos and I’d understand that it’s the same person, right?

Me: well yes

Me: I mean

Me: it’s not like I was actually protecting his identity

Me: or maybe I was

Me: but like

Me: only as a Guardian

Me: not because I want protect him personally

Me: only his Miraculous

Me: ‘cause it’s my job

Me: plus

Me: how would it help me if more people knew his identity?

Me: speaking of which

Me: how do you know it?

Me: were you at the ball?

Unavailable Number: in fact I was

Me: I see

Me: anyway

Me: now that he’s clearly moved to Paris

Me: instead of coming here from London to pretend he wants to help us with the Akumas

Me: Chat and I will be able to take the Miraculous from him

Unavailable Number: what for?

Me: what do you mean what for?

Me: Miraculous should be in the Miraculous Box and not in the possession of someone I don’t trust!

Me: he has no right to have it!

Unavailable Number: as far as I know he didn’t take that it from the Box or from you

Unavailable Number: but from your enemy

Me: yes

Me: but because of him, Monarch took the rest of the Miraculous from me!

Unavailable Number: that’s true

Unavailable Number: but didn’t you say that Argos helps you with the Akumas?

Me: I can’t count on his help

Me: he acts in his own interests

Me: how can I leave the Miraculous with him?!

Unavailable Number: I thought yesterday we agreed that all people act in their own interests

Me: yes, but that doesn’t justify what he did!

Me: and doesn’t help me trust him!

Unavailable Number: what would help you trust him?

Me: are you serious?

Unavailable Number: quite

Unavailable Number: I don’t see how a competent ally would hurt you

Unavailable Number: especially now when Monarch has most of the Miraculous

Unavailable Number: and you don’t allow me take them from him for you

Me: you’re doing it again

Unavailable Number: what am I doing?

Me: you talk about it like it’s so easy

Me: take the Miraculous from Monarch

Unavailable Number: I didn’t say it was easy

Unavailable Number: I said it can be done

Unavailable Number: and that I can do it for you

Me: I can’t take it seriously

Me: so please stop saying it

Me: damn it

Me: I texted you the whole lesson

Me: and didn’t hear a word my teacher said

Unavailable Number: you would be angry otherwise

Unavailable Number: and wouldn’t listen to the teacher anyway

Unavailable Number: and with the risk of akumatization as well

Unavailable Number: so I count it as a win

Me: you probably right

Me: thank you

Me: but I need to go now

Me: we’ll talk later, right?

Unavailable Number: I’m here for you whenever you want, Marinette

Me: I’m almost starting to believe it

*

Unavailable Number: that was a long fight

Me: no kidding

Me: Monarch has outdone himself today

Unavailable Number: but you still managed to defeat the akuma

Me: I can’t believe I’m saying this

Me: but today it was only possible thanks to Argos

Me: literally

Me: my Lucky Charm included him as a key part of the solution

Me: I don’t know how magic works

Me: but it somehow decided that today he really was on my side

Me: or maybe magic knows to what extent he’s ready to pretend he is

Unavailable Number: or that he is actually on your side

Me: I don’t know about that

Me: but I just talked Chat Noir into giving Argos a chance

Me: and not go to Felix’s house to take away his Miraculous tonight

Unavailable Number: this

Unavailable Number: is unexpected

Unavailable Number: considering the way you talked about him only this morning

Me: it’s all your fault!

Me: you made me think of him as an actual human being

Me: instead of an impudent traitor

Me: that he could really change

Unavailable Number: and I made you think so by assuming he might enjoy admiring your figure?

Me: ugh

Me: don’t remind me!

Me: his place in class is behind me now

Me: so tomorrow I’ll be angry about it again

Unavailable Number: and I’ll be here to distract you

Me: right

Me: so

Me: you were at the diamond ball

Unavailable Number: that’s what I said

Me: so you’re part of the elite that looks down on others

Unavailable Number: I only look down at narrow-minded people

Unavailable Number: whether they are part of the elite or not

Unavailable Number: why does it bother you?

Me: well

Me: if you’re a good stalker you should know about my

Me: about me and

Me: well

Unavailable Number: Adrien

Me: yes

Unavailable Number: what about him?

Me: well

Me: you know we tried dating, right?

Me: kind of

Unavailable Number: if you’d like to call it that way

Unavailable Number: than yes, I know

Me: you’re right I guess

Me: it’s really too big a name for what happened between us

Me: but I thought I meant more to him than the opinion of so called elite to which he belongs

Unavailable Number: Adrien is a good person

Unavailable Number: I don’t think that you mean less to him than the opinion of the elite

Unavailable Number: but I don’t know what could mean more to him than his father’s word

Me: that’s the thing

Me: he said that his father doesn’t allow our relationship

Me: and that was it

Me: you see?

Me: I thought that I was worth fighting for

Unavailable Number: you are

Me: but he didn’t

Me: I wanted him to fight for me

Me: for us

Me: I think I just wanted him to be a different person

Me: someone he isn’t

Me: because the Adrien I know can’t fight for me

Me: so I realized that he isn’t the person whom I thought I loved

Me: that is

Me: I love him

Me: I’m still ready to take care of him and everything

Me: but as a friend

Me: I no longer see him as a prince on a white horse who would save me

Me: you know?

Me: not that I really needed to be saved

Me: seeing I’m Ladybug

Me: but you know what I mean

Unavailable Number: why are you telling me this, Marinette?

Me: I thought it would be fair?

Me: I guess

Me: because I told you that I already found my prince

Me: but it wasn’t true

Me: maybe I always knew it wasn’t him

Me: but the fairy tale seemed too beautiful not to believe in it

Me: but I made it up myself

Me: he never promised me anything

Me: so I’m the one to blame

Unavailable Number: why are we talking about it now?

Unavailable Number: what changed?

Me: the ball

Me: I realized you’re one of them

Me: and I don’t want to start believing in a fairy tale again only for some elite parents to consider me unworthy of their son and for him to obediently lower his head and go in a different direction

Unavailable Number: Marinette

Me: I’m not saying it will ever come to this

Me: I don’t even know you

Me: and maybe this, whatever this is, will never go so far that someone has to stamp their foot on it

Me: but you

Me: you talk like you know me

Me: like you actually understand what I am

Me: and like you want to know me even better

Me: and even if your methods are peculiar

Me: you’re right

Me: I’m drawn to the mystery you created

Me: and it really feels like a romantic movie

Me: and I can’t stop texting you

Me: and as much as I want to resist it

Me: I want to believe in your sincerity

Me: but I no longer want strangers to decide my life for me

Me: the way Gabriel Agreste did

Unavailable Number: Marinette

Me: I mean

Me: I understand that he has nothing to do with you

Me: but someone else

Me: with the same views

Me: god what am I writing

Me: I never even saw you

Me: it’s just that you created this perfect picture

Me: better than the one I thought I wanted

Me: too good to be real

Me: and it messes with my head

Me: forget I wrote this

Unavailable Number: Marinette

Unavailable Number: listen to me

Unavailable Number: I don’t care about the elite or whatever you call it

Unavailable Number: rules and limits never held me back

Unavailable Number: whether they refer to the opinion of the elite or to the moral principles of the masses

Unavailable Number: if my family rejected you, on whatever basis, it would only mean that they need to reconsider their views on life

Unavailable Number: because I’m not ready to reconsider my views on you

Me: what color are your eyes?

Unavailable Number: my eyes?

Unavailable Number: why?

Me: nevermind

Unavailable Number: you know I’ll answer any question you have, Marinette

Unavailable Number: I’m just wondering why you asked about my eyes now

Unavailable Number: I didn’t catch the connection with the topic we were discussing

Me: it’s nothing

Me: you were talking about my eyes a few times

Me: that you imagine looking into them

Me: I know it’s stupid

Me: but I just thought

Me: it’s not fair that I don’t even know what color your eyes are

Unavailable Number: you want to imagine what it’s like to look into my eyes?

Me: I didn’t say that!

Me: in fact

Me: I don’t care what color they are anymore

Me: forget I asked!

Unavailable Number: alright, Marinette

Unavailable Number: if that’s what you want

Me: it is!

Me: I don’t care!

Me: I’m going to sleep anyway

Me: good night

Unavailable Number: good night, Marinette

Unavailable Number: they are green

Chapter 5

Summary:

Me: first he hangs around my house at night as Argos
Me: now he’s showing interest in our pastries
Me: this is all very suspicious
Unavailable Number: maybe he likes pastries?
Me: as if
Unavailable Number: why not?
Me: because then I’ll have to think of him as a living person again
Me: who has tastes in food and stuff
Unavailable Number: and it’s a bad thing, why?
Me: because I don’t trust him, that’s why!
Unavailable Number: does the fact that he has food preferences oblige you to trust him?
Me: no
Me: but
Me: well
Me: you know what I mean!
Unavailable Number: maybe I do
Unavailable Number: you would like to have an unambiguous opinion about him, bad to be precise, and the fact that he shows human qualities interferes with it, because people are subject to emotions, and feelings, and this means that they cannot be completely unambiguous
Me: exactly!

Notes:

Hi guys! I'm still roasting my body under the Egyptian sun, but persistent demanding comments have brought me here to post! (HamAndPineapple304 in particular, sorry darling, for making you cry, but you see, I'm here now!)

Enjoy the story!

Chapter Text

Me: so

Unavailable Number: so?

Me: I was wondering

Me: what does it mean that you don’t think with your body parts like other teenagers do?

Unavailable Number: good morning to you too, Marinette

Me: morning

Me: so

Me: what about the way that head of yours feels?

Me: what does that mean exactly?

Me: that you don’t find me attractive?

Me: or you don’t feel physically attracted to people at all?

Unavailable Number: I find you very attractive, Marinette

Unavailable Number: in fact

Unavailable Number: when it comes to you, I’m hardly different from other teenagers in what parts of the body I think

Unavailable Number: except that my level of self-control is much above average, I suppose

Unavailable Number: and I wouldn’t allow myself to act on my desires without having a full consent

Me: then what’s the difference?

Me: except that you don’t plan to pounce on me like an animal in mating season

Me: I think I got the self-control part

Me: but other than that

Me: first you say that you’re not like the most of them, and now that you’re hardly different

Me: why did you say you feel with your head before?

Unavailable Number: the difference is that for me the body is physically attractive only to the extent that I admire the person it belongs to

Me: so…

Me: uh…

Me: in simple words

Me: it doesn’t turn you on to watch, say, half-naked girls on the beach

Me: or in a magazine

Unavailable Number: no

Unavailable Number: these are just bodies

Unavailable Number: they don’t excite me more than frogs

Unavailable Number: or trees

Unavailable Number: or any part of nature for that matter

Unavailable Number: I can technically assess their physical attractiveness as species, I guess, but it doesn’t concern my body

Unavailable Number: I’m not quite an animal to be willing to pounce on any bone and flesh I see

Unavailable Number: the person inside is of decisive importance to me

Me: doesn’t that mean you’ll only be physically attracted to the girl you like romantically?

Unavailable Number: yes

Me: and now it’s me

Unavailable Number: now and always

Unavailable Number: from the moment when I realized that you are the one for me

Me: this

Me: kind of

Me: puts a lot of responsibility on me

Me: and I don’t even know if I like you on the outside

Me: I mean

Me: I can admit that I like the way you reason

Me: and it’s not that looks have a decisive meaning for me

Me: but it’s also important that your appearance attracts me, right?

Unavailable Number: you don’t have to be ashamed that looks matter to you, Marinette

Unavailable Number: we get most of our world experience from visual content, and that’s okay

Me: doesn’t that make me shallow?

Unavailable Number: would you agree to be with a person who perfectly matches your taste but behaves unacceptably from the point of view of your life principles?

Me: of course not!

Unavailable Number: then I don’t think your need for an attractive man can be defined as shallow

Unavailable Number: especially considering your sensitivity to visual aesthetics

Unavailable Number: people are different and their needs are determined by different things

Unavailable Number: depending on what type of personality they belong to

Unavailable Number: at a basic level, they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic, and there is nothing wrong with relating to one of them and following the way of perception that is most important for it

Unavailable Number: you should never be ashamed of who you are and what needs you have

Unavailable Number: if people aren’t ready to accept you for who you are, they hardly have a place in your life

Unavailable Number: and attractive appearance will not help them to stay

Unavailable Number: I think you already know it

Me: are you talking about Adrien?

Unavailable Number: may be

Me: I think rather then not accepting me he submitted to the fact that others didn’t accept me for who I am

Me: his father in particular

Unavailable Number: does this change the end result?

Me: I guess not

Unavailable Number: we are responsible for our choice, Marinette, regardless of whether it was imposed on us or not

Unavailable Number: he is legally an adult

Unavailable Number: if tomorrow he commits a crime on the orders of his father, he will answer for it before the law himself

Me: you’re right

Me: not only about that

Me: but also about the fact that despite how much his appearance attracts me, I can’t find in myself the ability to accept that he gave up on me

Unavailable Number: I didn’t mean to provoke you into thinking about him

Unavailable Number: it makes you sad

Me: yes

Me: well

Me: at least I’m able to discuss it with you

Me: to be honest, I can’t really talk about it with my friends

Me: it’s like they’ve been with me for so long in this illusion, that now it is even more difficult for them to give it up than for me

Me: maybe because they watched it from the side and I was inside the situation and it really hurt me

Me: but they still believe that Adrien and I “will be fine”

Me: and they convince me that I must understand what pressure he is under

Me: and that maybe I just need to wait a little longer

Unavailable Number: and what do you think?

Me: honestly?

Me: I know that something regarding him broke inside me

Me: like I said

Me: I lived in an illusion about who he was and who he could be for me

Me: and I don’t see a way back into this delusion

Me: but anyway

Me: don’t you feel uncomfortable discussing this with me?

Me: my feelings for another man and all that

Me: I feel like there should be some sort of rule about this

Unavailable Number: rule like what?

Me: like

Me: “don’t talk to your stalker about another man who broke your heart”

Me: something like that

Unavailable Number: I already said that I hardly obey the rules, Marinette

Unavailable Number: also

Unavailable Number: I just said you have the right to be who you are

Unavailable Number: and that people either accept you like that or they are not worthy of your attention

Unavailable Number: I would be a hypocrite if the next minute I demanded that you behave differently from what you want

Unavailable Number: including talking about what’s on your mind if you need to talk about it

Unavailable Number: besides, I’m pleased that you feel like discussing such personal things with me

Unavailable Number: I see no need to limit our communication by rules

Unavailable Number: I would be happy if you were comfortable discussing everything with me

Unavailable Number: everything except what you don’t want to talk about

Me: or what you don’t want to talk about

Unavailable Number: yes

Me: and you would tell me about it, right?

Me: if I start talking about something you don’t want to discuss?

Unavailable Number: of course

Me: thank you

Unavailable Number: always

Me: so umm

Me: going back to the fact that you’re planning to marry me and I don’t even know if I like your appearance

Me: so I feel like there are some high expectations of me

Unavailable Number: firstly

Unavailable Number: I said that I plan to propose to you

Unavailable Number: the choice to accept it is yours

Me: but you have no doubt that I will accept it

Unavailable Number: yes

Me: ha!

Me: you see!?

Me: you already expect me to return your feelings!

Me: and what if I don’t like you?

Unavailable Number: I don’t expect you to return my feelings, Marinette

Me: I don’t understand

Unavailable Number: say, I love freshly brewed coffee, night rain and the smell of peonies

Unavailable Number: doesn’t mean I expect coffee, rain or peonies to love me back

Unavailable Number: I just love them

Unavailable Number: does this make sense to you?

Me: well, it does

Me: but

Me: what about people?

Me: don’t you expect counter feelings from the person you’re in love with?

Unavailable Number: I can only talk about you in particular, my dear

Unavailable Number: and answering your question

Unavailable Number: no, I don’t automatically expect feelings from you just because I have them myself

Me: so, you admit that I might not reciprocate?

Me: and are you still planning to propose to me if I’m not?

Unavailable Number: Marinette

Unavailable Number: we’re only eighteen

Unavailable Number: we have a whole life ahead of us

Unavailable Number: I expect you to form your own feelings, based on your own choice

Unavailable Number: and I plan to do everything in my power to help you reciprocate the way I feel

Unavailable Number: put as much time and effort into it as it takes

Unavailable Number: but in the end it’s your choice and it’s about how you feel and not about how I feel

Unavailable Number: choosing a person only because they are in love with you would be a mistake and a good way to make both you and them unhappy

Unavailable Number: you must be sure of your own feelings and they must determine your choice

Unavailable Number: don’t forget that a person lives only for themself, and if you lie to yourself that this isn’t so and base your decisions on other people’s feelings and needs, it will never make you truly happy

Me: wow

Me: you just described what happened to me and Luka

Me: I have no words

Me: you understand it all so well

Me: I’m almost ready to say yes

Me: I mean

Me: sorry

Me: that’s not what I wanted to say

Me: I’m just really impressed

Unavailable Number: take your time, my dear

Unavailable Number: you barely know me

Unavailable Number: and I already told you that not everything in my actions will seem unambiguous or even acceptable to you

Unavailable Number: and you will have time to think about it

Unavailable Number: but like I said

Unavailable Number: I’m not going anywhere

Unavailable Number: and the last thing I want is for you to be unsure of how you feel about me the day I propose to you

Unavailable Number: I’ve already made my choice

Unavailable Number: and that’s you

Unavailable Number: and I have the patience to give you as much time as you need to make yours

Unavailable Number: as for the looks

Unavailable Number: I have reasons to believe that my appearance will not disgust you

Me: I start feeling like I almost don’t care about it anymore

Unavailable Number: I’m glad to hear it

Unavailable Number: not that it was an issue in any case

Unavailable Number: the question is how ready you are to accept my life principles

Unavailable Number: but I think I already gave you a general idea of them

Me: I mean

Me: your concept of love and happiness and life in general

Me: I never thought that the idea that a person does everything only for themself is so connected with following our feelings and how happy we will be in the end

Me: I have a lot to think about

Me: not because I’m against it

Me: it’s just new to me and I think I’ll have more questions about it

Unavailable Number: I’m always ready to answer them

*

Me: do you know what he did?

Unavailable Number: who?

Me: Felix!

Unavailable Number: stared at your figure during lessons?

Me: …

Me: I don’t know if he did THAT!

Me: and stop reminding me of the possibility of it happening!

Unavailable Number: what then?

Me: he came to the bakery!

Me: I’m helping with the customers today

Me: and he came and asked for my recommendations on the baked goods we have

Me: as if we were on good terms with each other and could just talk like that!

Me: and I had to answer him politely

Unavailable Number: can’t you refuse to serve a client and put him out without explanation if he doesn’t suit you?

Unavailable Number: some places have this policy

Me: I don’t know if I could

Me: we never practiced anything like that in our bakery before

Unavailable Number: then you can just personally ask him to leave if you don’t like his presence

Me: it’s not that I don’t like his presence

Me: I mean

Me: I don’t!

Me: but like

Me: he sits behind me at school all day now

Me: so it’s not like I could get rid of him completely

Me: so it’s not about his presence as such

Unavailable Number: then what?

Me: I don’t understand him!

Me: but even worse is that then my mother came over

Me: and he started talking to her nicely

Me: and while I had other customers at the checkout, they were chatting on the side

Me: discussing pastries and the city, and even the weather

Me: and he promised my mom to bring his mom to our bakery

Me: and then he politely said goodbye to her, turned around and said ‘see you at school, Marinette’

Me: and I can’t be sure

Me: but I think he also smiled at me

Unavailable Number: I thought you were going to give him a chance

Me: I said I convinced Chat to give him a chance!

Unavailable Number: but you’re not ready to do the same, right?

Me: does it make me a hypocrite?

Unavailable Number: it doesn’t make you anything, Marinette

Unavailable Number: you have the right to feel what you feel

Unavailable Number: having conflicting feelings is not a crime either

Me: god

Me: I don’t know what I would do without you!

Me: you say a few words and my life immediately becomes easier

Unavailable Number: I know what I would do without you

Me: really?

Me: what?

Unavailable Number: I would look for you until I found you

Unavailable Number: and you already know what I would do after that

Me: you would become my stalker

Me: and security guard

Me: and personal psychologist

Me: and prince on a white horse?

Unavailable Number: and the man who loves you

Chapter 6

Summary:

Me: why did you do it?
Unavailable Number: which part?
Unavailable Number: protect you from the Akuma?
Unavailable Number: didn’t I express well enough how much you mean to me?
Me: no
Me: not that
Me: but
Me: you could just leave me on that rooftop
Me: make me believe that he just wanted to help save a civilian
Me: or even a classmate
Me: it wouldn’t arouse any suspicion
Me: seeing it wasn’t the first time Argos was helping
Unavailable Number: it would fit if I wanted to avoid your suspicions

Chapter Text

Unavailable Number: are you mad at me?

Me: more like shocked

Me: so much that I’m unable to get angry

Me: for now

Unavailable Number: ready to talk about it?

Me: does it matter if I’m ready?

Unavailable Number: it always matters

Me: right

Me: so

Me: why did you do it?

Unavailable Number: which part?

Unavailable Number: protect you from the Akuma?

Unavailable Number: didn’t I express well enough how much you mean to me?

Me: no

Me: not that

Me: but

Me: you could just leave me on that rooftop

Me: make me believe that he just wanted to help save a civilian

Me: or even a classmate

Me: it wouldn’t arouse any suspicion

Me: seeing it wasn’t the first time Argos was helping

Unavailable Number: it would fit if I wanted to avoid your suspicions

Me: so you did the opposite, right?

Me: because Argos ordering my civilian self to transform while he was distracting the Akuma

Me: like it was a normal thing in our relationship

Me: was as straightforward as possible

Unavailable Number: you already assumed that he could know your identity once

Unavailable Number: I didn’t want you to have any more doubts

Me: and by the fact he knows my identity and didn’t give my name to Monarch I was supposed to automatically understand that it’s you, I assume

Unavailable Number: it worked, didn’t it?

Me: it did, clearly

Me: but I

Me: don’t understand

Me: you had the perfect opportunity to gain at least some trust first

Me: as Argos, I mean

Me: before making me realize it was you

Me: Chat was surprisingly ok with the idea of Argos being on the team

Me: albeit conditionally

Me: but even that was hard to expect after what he did

Me: and I started to trust you

Me: you-you, I mean

Me: not Argos, but my protective stalker

Me: and how am I supposed to trust you now?

Unavailable Number: are you accusing me of revealing to you the truth after which you don’t want to trust me, because you would trust me more if I kept lying?

Me: are you making it sound ridiculous on purpose?

Unavailable Number: just to make you realize it

Unavailable Number: the more we talked and you told me about me without knowing it was me, the more you would feel betrayed later

Unavailable Number: like you do now

Unavailable Number: only you would feel proportionately more betrayed the more close we would get

Unavailable Number: I didn’t want that

Me: that’s why you tried to tell me it was you that night?

Me: when I went looking for you and found Argos hanging around my house?

Me: you literally told me it was obvious conclusion

Me: and I convinced myself that it couldn’t be you

Unavailable Number: I did

Unavailable Number: and you did

Me: and you said you were at the ball

Me: and that we danced together

Unavailable Number: yes and yes

Me: I still don’t believe it’s you

Unavailable Number: then ask me

Unavailable Number: I promised to tell you my name if you ask me

Me: then I’ll have to accept the fact that my perfect stranger is the one who betrayed me

Unavailable Number: would you rather live in an illusion?

Me: I’d rather you didn’t sneak inside my head like you did

Me: and didn’t make me enjoy your company

Me: and like the way you think

Me: and feel

Me: then I wouldn’t start dreaming about you only to have it turned out to be a hoax!

Unavailable Number: and why is it a hoax?

Unavailable Number: am I not what I told you I am?

Me: oh you are!

Me: you are exactly what you told me you are!

Me: too much even

Me: with your damn flawless appearance!

Me: and your damn green eyes!

Me: and your damn selfishness!

Me: and your unwillingness to follow the rules, too!

Me: you probably could even take the Miraculous from him like you said you could!

Me: seeing you know who he is

Me: and that’s the problem!

Me: because it changes everything, can’t you see?

Unavailable Number: not for me

Unavailable Number: and I would have already take the Miraculous from him if you hadn’t forbidden me to interfere in your affairs

Me: how could I know that you can actually do that!?

Unavailable Number: because I told you I can

Unavailable Number: you just didn’t believe me

Unavailable Number: do you believe me now?

Me: after I found out that you are the one to betray me?!

Me: how am I to believe you after that!?

Unavailable Number: because I have never lied to you since I said how important you are for me

Me: and I have to just trust you?!

Unavailable Number: you don’t have to do anything, Marinette

Unavailable Number: besides what you want yourself

Me: it just doesn’t fit in my head!

Me: how can it be you?!

Me: it’s now as obvious as it is unbelievable!

Me: but it only means that you lied to me when I trusted you the first time

Unavailable Number: we have already discussed it

Me: did we?

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: I acted in my own interests and you didn’t mean to me then what you mean now

Me: you weren’t just talking abstractly about people

Me: you were talking about me

Me: and you

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: I told you that it would be a reason for you to blame me

Unavailable Number: something to consider a flaw

Me: you said I would blame you for not caring about me earlier

Unavailable Number: exactly

Me: but it’s not that!

Me: I can’t blame you for your feelings or their absence

Me: I blame you for betraying me!

Unavailable Number: that is, I did something in my own interests that was contrary to your interests

Unavailable Number: because you weren’t as important to me as you are now, and therefore I chose myself and not you

Unavailable Number: and because making you happy wasn’t my priority since it had nothing to do with my own happiness

Unavailable Number: (seeing a person can’t chose eight billion random people over himself — it would be suicidal)

Unavailable Number: so blaming me for betraying your interests then is like blaming me for not caring about you earlier as much as I do now

Unavailable Number: or blaming me for not being in love with you back then

Me: you’re trying to confuse me and turn everything upside down!

Unavailable Number: vice versa

Unavailable Number: I show you the way everything really is

Me: and it’s that I blame you for not being in love with me before?!

Unavailable Number: yes

Me: but that’s nonsense!

Unavailable Number: that doesn’t stop you from blaming me for it

Me: it’s nonsense, because I don’t blame you for your feelings, but for the fact that you betrayed me

Me: which you really did

Unavailable Number: like I told you

Unavailable Number: a person cannot betray anyone but themself

Me: but you said I could trust you!

Me: then, on the train!

Unavailable Number: I lied

Me: and this isn’t a betrayal?!

Unavailable Number: no

Unavailable Number: I acted in my own interests, and in order to get the Miraculous, I had to lie to someone who had no personal meaning for me for the sake of someone who did

Unavailable Number: it would be a betrayal if now, after I told you that I would do anything for you because of my feelings for you, I would refuse to follow my words

Unavailable Number: because I would betray my own feelings for you, and therefore myself

Me: so you think it’s impossible for you to betray me?

Me: even now that you claim to have feelings for me?

Me: because even if you turn against me it would betray you and not me

Unavailable Number: yes

Unavailable Number: I already said, Marinette

Unavailable Number: a person can only betray themself

Unavailable Number: or make themself happy (directly or by making happy others)

Unavailable Number: you are not a god to control the happiness of the whole world

Unavailable Number: you can only be responsible for your life

Unavailable Number: the rest is moral delusions and the formation of guilt that people use to manipulate other people

Me: can’t a person, a social being, be considered anti-social if they live only for themself?

Unavailable Number: can’t a person who pretends to care about everyone around them (including strangers that they can’t genuinely care about) be considered anti-social?

Me: that doesn’t answer my question!

Unavailable Number: alright

Unavailable Number: then I’ll answer your question like this

Unavailable Number: as you see it: a person must choose others, live for others, obey their rules, but the flaw in this logic is that then you are FORCED to give yourself to others and sooner or later you will exhaust yourself and will not be useful to yourself or others

Unavailable Number: if pour from a jug into cups without replenishing the jug, one day it will be empty, and a person will be angry at the world for their internal void

Unavailable Number: as I see it: a person must choose himself and live for his own happiness, doing everything possible for the happiness of only those people who are sincerely dear to him, because this, again, will bring more happiness to him

Unavailable Number: the jug will never dry out and the person will continue to please himself by making others happy, because this happiness will overflow him and he will always have something to share with the world

Me: so, you think being selfish includes making other people happy, too?

Unavailable Number: man is a social being

Unavailable Number: nothing can make us as happy as the joy of those we love

Unavailable Number: people (not any, but specific ones that are important to us) are our highest value

Unavailable Number: but only if we choose ourselves as the basis for values

Me: I didn’t think that in your concept, love for yourself and for other people are not mutually exclusive

Unavailable Number: I never said they were

Me: still

Me: I find it hard to accept the idea that now you’re willing to act in my best interests just because I’m important to you, so it’s almost like acting in your own best interests

Unavailable Number: and in whose interests are you acting?

Me: I don’t know

Me: people?

Me: the city?

Unavailable Number: but only you can feel the result of your actions, right?

Unavailable Number: even if you do something for others and your result is their happiness

Unavailable Number: because you can’t feel the happiness of others

Unavailable Number: only your own joy from it

Unavailable Number: there for it can only be truly important people for you

Me: and what if the result of my actions doesn’t concern me, because it is for the masses I don’t know?

Unavailable Number: when you fight Akumas, for example?

Me: yes

Unavailable Number: if you’re doing it “for the city”, you’re emptying your jug, because you’re only giving something away

Unavailable Number: and when you do the same for yourself — like, to feel the drive of the process itself — you fill your jug

Unavailable Number: the city gets the same result, but you either fill yourself with it or empty yourself

Me: do I have the right to enjoy fighting Akumas?

Unavailable Number: why not?

Unavailable Number: but not necessary

Unavailable Number: you can enjoy the fact that a few important people for you are safe and happy now

Unavailable Number: but the main thing is that it you’re the one who’s happy because of it and it fills you

Unavailable Number: because you only feel through yourself

Unavailable Number: you are the only one who can fill your jug

Unavailable Number: and you are the only one who can empty it

Unavailable Number: and that’s what will be called betrayal

Unavailable Number: not allow yourself to be happy

Me: I

Me: see

Me: I need to think about it, Felix

Me: but I

Me: I guess I’m starting to understand what you mean

Unavailable Number: take your time, Marinette

Unavailable Number: in any case

Unavailable Number: I’m glad there are no more secrets between us

Me: I guess there aren’t

Unavailable Number: good night, Marinette

Me: good night

Me: stalker

*

Me: I was thinking

Unavailable Number: good morning, Marinette

Me: it’s not morning yet

Unavailable Number: it’s 4 in the morning

Me: I haven’t slept yet

Me: so it’s still evening for me

Unavailable Number: me neither

Unavailable Number: evening, then

Me: at least we agree on this

Unavailable Number: only on this?

Me: well

Me: I like some of your ideas more after a few hours of intense thinking

Me: could be just sleep deprivation

Unavailable Number: does it mean I don’t do my job of guarding your dreams well?

Me: or maybe some of the ideas are so tempting I can’t stop thinking about them

Unavailable Number: care to share?

Me: I might

Me: say

Me: if you’re ready to do anything for me, and it only gives you pleasure

Me: it’s like love that takes pressure off the object of love

Me: that’s what you explained to me about rain and coffee, right?

Unavailable Number: right

Me: it’s freeing

Me: and like

Me: for the other side it is also a win

Me: because if I do something for the people I love, it will definitely make me happy

Me: and it’s like an endless circle of happiness

Me: you fill up by doing something for the people that are important to you and you have even more desire to do more for them, and this makes you even more happy, and so on

Unavailable Number: that’s true

Me: I was really exhausted from doing everything for the city without enjoying it

Me: I never wanted my Miraculous, you know

Me: but if I just thought to find something that would fill me in this whole mess

Me: it would change everything

Me: with a personal motive, it will become a pleasure and not an obligation

Me: so

Me: your picture of the world looks much more attractive than mine from this point of view

Me: although it may imply that you never betrayed me

Unavailable Number: and it’s bad, why?

Me: because then I’ll have to accept the fact that my perfect stranger didn’t betray me

Unavailable Number: does it deprive him of flaws?

Me: it might

Unavailable Number: though I like the idea of you calling me perfect

Unavailable Number: I still disagree with one word in that statement

Me: what word?

Unavailable Number: stranger

Me: well

Me: it’s not like we had much time to get to know each other for real

Me: we usually meet during the fights

Me: or classes

Me: or at a ball where we both pretend to be someone else

Unavailable Number: talk about stalker tendencies

Me: I know

Unavailable Number: you also know I’m outside your window, right?

Me: tempting distance

Unavailable Number: but I really would rather you get some sleep

Unavailable Number: that’s what I’m here for, after all

Me: I can’t sleep anyway

Me: but my eyes are tired of the screen

Me: plus, I’ve always preferred live communication

Me: and it’s not like you have to hide your identity or something

Unavailable Number: is this an invitation?

Me: don’t make me ask twice

Unavailable Number: never

Unavailable Number: fulfill your wishes makes me happy, remember?

Unavailable Number: and if you want to see me at 4 in the morning, so be it

Me: that’s exactly what I wanted to hear

Unavailable Number: well

Unavailable Number: after all

Unavailable Number: I was made for you, too

Notes:

Next Felinette in a week! (It's another time travel Felilnette, cause I just can't help it, as you already know)
