Work Text:

Kazuichi stood in his garage, staring. Standing before him on his table, was a tricycle. Somehow, two wheels were bent, the chain was snapped in three places, the basket was almost crumpled, and the seat was missing.

Kazuichi looked at the smug little ultimate. His hands behind his head, smile stretched wide, as if he didn't look like he was dragged into the streets. His clothes wrinkled and covered in dirt, his nose trickling blood, and his legs barely able to support himself.

Kazuichi sighed, wanting to know what happened to so thoroughly destroy the small liar and his trike. "So what happened to you?"

"Weeelllll, Kazzy boy, " Kokichi started, "I was launching off a ramp over my lake of acid, when one of my crocodiles attacked! I courageously fought it off, delivering a swift judo chop! In my struggle however, I failed to stick the landing." The little liar laughed, amused by his story. "You can see the crater from over here."

Kazuichi sighed, feeling tired without even working yet. Being friends the the bastard was tiring, even if it was well worth it. "There's no acid lakes around here, and don't call me that, ya liar!"

Kokichi laughed, always amused by his friend's reactions. "There is too! There's hundreds of victims down there! You too if you call me a liar again!" He checked his nails, looking at his hand knowing darn well he was going to lie again. "It where I put the bodies of everyone who angers me. It's got crocodiles and snakes and leeches, and it's suuuuuper terrifying."

Kazuichi laughed, trying not to look nervous, but failing. "That's cool, that's cool.... you're not serious though, right? You're not actually gonna put me in, right?"

Kokichi stood there, smiling as wide as he could. Showing as many of his teeth as he could, he felt Kazuichi's unsubtle panic, and he burst out laughing.

"Nah, I'm just messing with you. I'm not done using you yet."

"Sh-Shut up! That's not funny, man." Kokichi laughed to himself, apparently disagreeing.

Kazuichi moved to work on the trike, or what was left of it. He wondered if it could be salvaged at this point, looking more like a pile of metal than a tricycle. He tried his best to focus on fixing what he could.

Keyword being tried, as Kokichi made it difficult.

Kokichi collapsed on the floor, legs finally giving in. He abruptly kicked the wall for no reason, laying on his back. Kazuichi tried to ignore it, but realized it was pointless after hearing another kick. And another kick.

And another kick.

Kokichi was either ignoring his friend's frustration, or was enjoying it. He sure could tell, with how intently he was looking at the mechanic.

"Can you add a jet?"

Kazuichi stop working for a second. He turned to look back at the small leader.

"Why would I add a jet? You can barely walk without causing problems." He turned to work before snapping back. "And why are you on the floor?"

"Where else am I supposed to rest? You don't put the welcome mat, do ya? Not even for such an honored guest. You're lucky I'm a merciful leader, or else I would have you dragged into the ocean."

Kazuichi felt a bit guilty, leaving the little guy without anything to sit on. He walked over to the storage closet, and pulled out some metal chairs.

"Here. Don't bend them, they're the only ones I have."

"Awww, you haven't even shoved a rocket on them? How lame."

"Wh-what is it with you and rockets?!" Kazuichi looked away. "And I did try... but now I only have two chairs."

Kokichi swung his legs, boredom starting to kick in. He considered sneaking up the engineer, but scaring someone with a wrench felt like the opposite of self preservation.

"You ever think about staircases?"

Kazuichi stopped for a second "No. They're just stairs."

"That's what they want you to think... If you can."

"H-hey! I think plenty!"

"Yeah about (italics) Miss Sonia!"

"Sh-shut up! Don't make fun of me!"

"Aw, but it's so fuuun."

"Man, and I'm even doing you a favor..."

Kazuichi continued working on the tricycle, although not much could be done. He had to replace the chain, the seat, and the basket.

While the engineer worked, Kokichi began to wonder about what kind of inventions he could ask Kazuichi to make.

A flying robot could be fun, or maybe a drawing one. He mentioned a chalk drawing robot once when they were playing a game. They were playing a fighting game, something emulated. Kokichi always chose the joke characters, but he always managed to kick the engineer's ass everytime. Kazuichi never seemed to be too upset, always taking the losses in stride, no matter how badly he lost. Trash talk was another thing, sure, but they never really fought too badly. He wondered-

"Done."

Kokichi blinked. He realized how long he spent daydreaming.

He looked at his once broken tricycle. It looked completely new, despite the previous damage.

"It was tough, but it should be workin'. Just don't wipe out like that again."

"Wow! Thanks Kazzzzzyyyy!" Kokichi smiled, as smug and as happy as ever.

"I-I said don't call me that, ya brat!"

Kazuichi watched as Kokichi rode off, the liar laughing to himself. It was tiring being friends with him, but it was nice.

He was alrady tired, even though the day had barely started. He felt amused, however, by his one of his closest friend's antics. He walked out his garage, ready to take the day on.

Notes:

Kokichi and Class 77 should be friends
That's all I'll say
